Mayo through 9/16

How do you feel about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? I have lots of knick-knacky stuff, so I don’t need much more, but I do love magnets and stickers are always fun. Is there a specific book you've been wanting to get but haven't found the time or the opportunity to? I tend to pick up books quite often, but the one that I haven’t gotten yet, and really would like to read are the Loon Lake Fishing Mysteries, a series by Victoria Houston. I promise not to buy any of these. Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive managas or anything related to them? Not only do I not read/watch them, I’m not even sure what they are so I’ll pass on them. Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? Absolutely! My wislist is just to give you ideas of the kind of things I like. I’m sure that if you think I will like it, I will. If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? I would love it! Knowing that you made it yourself would make it extra special! OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? Love socks!!! (Thank you, again for the Sock Dreams gift card!!!) I like almost any materials, but ones with heavy wool content would make me itch, so they would need to be big enough that I could wear a cotton pair under. I really prefer socks that are only ankle high. I have big, long calves, and ones that are mid-calf or even knee high never fit like they are supposed to, and end up falling down around my ankles anyway. How do people feel about word magnets I’ve never thought much about them, but they might be fun. If you could have any costume, or if you aren't into costumes, necklace or other accessory, from any movie character, what would it be? I have no idea. I’ll update later if I think of something wonderful How do you feel about samples/decants of things other than BPAL? Soap slices, lotion/scrub/shower gel decants, single use make-up/beauty products, etc. I think they are a great way to try things. I adore sample sizes! What are you guys going to be aiming for in the Inquisition? Or do you just plan on ordering individual items? I think I’ve answered this a couple places. Chocolate or other types of candy? Milk or white chocolate, no dark please. And of course, CARAMEL. For tea drinkers, do you prefer loose leaf or tea bags? No tea for me please. If you would enjoy something of a knitted persuasion, do you have a preference on type of thing? Since making a scarf for someone who has 10 might be a smidge excessive? Also, how do people feel about shawls? I would LOVE something of the knitted persuasion. Anything would be great. I love scarves (the bigger the better) and I love shawls, too (again, the bigger the better). The only thing that might be a bit of a miss with me would be arm warmers or fingerless gloves. I live in the Northwoods. It gets freaking cold! My gloves need to have fingers. I also really like mittens! Is there a TV, movie or literary character that you are a lot alike, or would like to be alike? Well, there are days that I swear I am one of the 3 stooges! Is there anything you need for your kitchen, ie measuring cups, spoons, grater, ect? LOVE kitchen gadgets! One thing that I just noticed that needs replacing is my candy thermometer. I also like seasonal kitchen towels and pot holders. Music, DO you prefer Live or Studio? Edited or explicit? Any is fine. If you are an animal lover, is there a specific type/breed that you love most? Love all critters. The current pooch (see picture in my avatar) is a Papillion/Chihuahua mix and the kitteh is a tortie Also flowers and plants- If you like flowers/plants, do you have a favorite(s)? There is a special place in my heart for peonies. I also really like the looks of maple trees and leaves. Do you have a favorite quotation? Song lyric? Book passage? . " Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep... wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in sweats, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you' re just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky he is to have YOU... The one who turns to his friends and says, thats her... " What is a bpal scent that you've been dying to try for awhile but just can't find? (A scent where even a tester would do) Snow Glass Apples (Quit laughing!) Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that you have some children/spawn (1 or more), and, hypothetically speaking, your witch would like to spoil them a little but knows nothing of kids these days. What do they like or dislike? Also is there anything a (sane) adult might think they would like that you don't think is appropriate for whatever reason? (I'm thinking of things like temp tattoos, make up, things that make noise, or anything else that might be bad for non-obvious reasons.) I remain spawn-less Is there anything you would like that can be delivered over the internet? Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that Can’t really think of anything. But I do like to be amused, so if you come across funny videos or cartoons I would probably enjoy them. What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) I went to a restaurant once and had the best meal of my life. Lobster fettuccine alfredo. I’m a pretty good cook and have been able to duplicate a lot of things I’ve had in restaurants but never this one. To go with it some garlic cheese bread and for desert, I make strawberries that are stuffed with a cheesecake type filling and then dipped in chocolate. To drink, I’m sorry, I’m just not a big drinker and good wines and such are wasted on me so I’d like a really big coke with no ice to water it down. NaNoWriMo? I should, but I don’t. I’m taking a writing class right now in the hopes that my writing will get better.

Notes: cedar crystals, wood sap, black thyme, oak, immortelle, beeswax, silver birch, rum absolute and tonka bean   I'm getting mostly sharp woods, verging on sour like patchouli sometimes does to me. I can sense thyme, just a little. I like woody scents but lately I've been more in the mood for something a little sweet and spicy. Maybe because it's almost fall? I like Chene but won't be hunting down more. I'll keep my sample in case my scent moods change again back to more intense woods.

It's the only thing I can use in my hair that NEVER causes or worsens a headache & I am down to my last one & can't find them anywhere!       Hopefully those pictures work. Usually good, with (very)occasional brushes with greatness. I enjoy it esp. when being creative or trying something new!   If I send you something home made would you like the reciepe for it? YES!   How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? Sounds great!   We had some tea related questions, but here's another: if you are a tea lover, what are your flavor preferences? 9/15 and 9/16!

9/16/10 If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? Wide and long would be awesome, or skinny and long.   Don't like scarves? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? Either one would be okay!   How do you feel about recipes? I LOVE new recipes   What kind of a cook/baker are you? I would say casual cook but sophisticated baker. I love doing both though, and my stuff is usually pretty good if I do say so myself!   Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? I would rather cook than get delivery, but I do occasionally eat out or eat prepared stuff.   If I send you something home made would you like the reciepe for it? If you want to share it, of course!   If you are someone who doesn't want baked goods sent, would you like a collection of some of my favorite recipes? Abosultely!   How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? I am debating ordering a Treat Pack and the Candy Caramel Apple whatever oil. If I don't get the treat pack, I would get Marshmallow Pumpkin and the soap. I am just not sure about the bath oil.

But I understand that sometimes recipes are personal/family traditions so I wouldn't be upset if you didn't include it.   If you are someone who doesn't want baked goods sent, would you like a collection of some of my favorite recipes? How do you feel about recipes? I like them as a general frame of reference.   What kind of a cook/baker are you? Equally good at both. My failing is lack of measuring things and being too 'creative' sometimes.   Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? A little of all of the above. I have a cooking love/hate relationship. I mean, I can make souffle that doesn't fall but... Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? I like scarves better. But it's coming up to summer here, so lightweight fabric scarves (still thin) are better because I use them to tie up my hair. It's Australia....think tank tops and thongs! (thongs are shoes...get your mind out of the gutter!)   How do you feel about recipes? Sure, but a lot of ingredients have different names here, and there are different measurements too. (a US tablespoon is not the same as an AU tablespoon, for example)   What kind of a cook/baker are you? An experimenter, I guess. But the house I live in at the moment doesn't have an oven. So any baking would have to be at my parents house.   Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? Depends on my mood, but it's either delivery or cooking. Frozen dinners are terrible!   If I send you something home made would you like the reciepe for it? 7th October   Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular? Vogue Italia! Vogue Italia!   would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush? Not really. I think I still have a box of Lush stuff from my stepbro last Christmas...   Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be? British Blondes   If someone were to make you one of the items in this post which would it be? #3 or #4   If you were my witchee, would you mind a gift certificate where you'd have to do it old school style and mail it in with your order form? I don't know if they'd accept gift certs for postage to Australia.   Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation? Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you? Ambers, lighter musks, with a dash of heavy floral - deep rose, narcissus, lavendar, lilac, etc.. Bay rum seems to work really well on me, and vanilla bourbon, too. I tend to like the resinous scents best - they last on my skin the longest.   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? I...don't know. I've never gotten sugar skull stuff before!       1st October   Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Not really, although I'm thinking that my imp of Marquis de Carabas (heavy on the bay rum!) is rapidly becoming it. Panther Moon might, too - except for the rash that tends to develop. And I'm really quite liking the incense-y scent of All Saints 2010   What are you going to be for Halloween? Hadn't thought about it. Halloween isn't big here, although I've been invited to a Halloween party by a BPAL friend, but I think another friend is celebrating her birthday the same night. Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? One, two, many, LOTS... Um, at least 50, probably over 80.   Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? I'd rather like to join a Zumba class, but I like my regular Body Pump classes for workouts. I probably wouldn't mind a pair of yoga pants but I have no idea of my size.   What's on your walls? Would you like gifts related to it? Oh yes, I read fantasy! All kinds and types, although the epic ones are my favourites. Strong female lead characters with political chicanery all around them: - Melanie Rawn's 'Dragon Prince/Star' - and her 'Exiles' series; - Elizabeth Moon's 'Serrano Legacy' (although her anti-Muslim rant saddened me greatly); - Jacqueline Carey's 'Kushiel' series - particularly with Phedre no Delaunay; - Jo Graham's 'Numinous world' series and the characters in them: Gull, Charmian, Cleopatra, Iras; - Terry Pratchett - all his books, particularly the ones with the witches, the guards, and Death. - Mike Shepherd's 'Kris Longknife' series - sci-fi/fantasy with technoscience and politics   Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I don't mind testing slivers - full soaps tend to be a bit much. My skin can sometimes react adversely with certain oils and scents, and so I usually use an unscented medical wash.   I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? No pens. I love pencils and paints and such, but I'm well-stocked and not in need of anything.   For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? Not really a yarnie, and since I already have several boxes full of materials for quilts already, I'd rather not add to it...   Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Nope.   In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? Wrist warmers, gloves, socks, or a hat. (I'd be tickled if I got one with the flaps like Jayne Cobb's in 'Firefly'.)   How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? Love it.   What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? (ie. forest, canyons, mountains, by the beach; temperate, tropical...) Temperate in the hills with forest, tropical down by the beach, summer hiking in the mountains. But I'm not so good with the hammering heat of the desert.   What do you wish you could make/craft if you had the know-how and supplies? Specifically, which particular items? I always think I should learn to knit something other than a scarf or a rectangular item.   Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? Sibyl. If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? I do like scarves! But a shawl would be gorgeous as well. Dear Witch, please don't feel that such an amount of effort is necessary. It would be stellar, true, but that's a lot of effort, and I hope you are taking time to allow yourself to be spoiled by your Witch as well(because you are awesome and deserve it).   How do you feel about recipes? Recipes are wonderful jump off points for culinary creativity.   What kind of a cook/baker are you? I am the kind of cook/baker who comes up with spur of the moment things, or adds in an interesting ingredient on a whim. All right i have been poked. today was traumatic so i am behind on most things. But i think the question you want answered is the whole kidlets costume thingy. i am nto against it, i am really leaning towards make both of them faeries or princesses. I haven't gotten stuck on EITHER yes but that the lean. if you want to send them something for it then Go on, if they dont' end up with it for their costumes i am sure it will be put to use in their dress up clothes.   i am not really up to anymore tonight. I will try to do better tomorrow.

There's probably more than one, but right now I'm really interested in reading the Hunger Games YA series. I tend to get books from the library, but all the libraries here have, srsly, like 29 holds on these books, so it's not likely I'll get them anytime soon! Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive managas or anything related to them? I know nothing about manga, but have always liked the idea....I just don't even know where to start. So if you see anything you think I might like, I'd try it! I like dark fantasy, and sci-fi, and I love animal things...In fact, if anyone is knowledgeable about manga they may know if there are kitsune manga....I've thought there MUST be given how much animal stories are part of Japanese culture, but I wouldn't even know where to begin to look. I know I love graphic novels and memoirs, and have been lusting over the Pride and Prejudice with zombies, and the general collection of zombie comics, but really, I'd be so interested. I've read all the Sandman series and have Gaiman's wonderful book...name is escaping me now....that features Kitsune....it's a collaboration with a Japanese artist...Dream seekers? Something like that. Anyway, stuff like that would be very fun for me. How do people feel about word magnets: I enjoy them, but I have several sets with no place to put them, so probably don't need more. If you could have any costume, or if you aren't into costumes, necklace or other accessory, from any movie character, what would it be? I don't think i have an answer to this one.... How do you feel about samples/decants of things other than BPAL? Soap slices, lotion/scrub/shower gel decants, single use make-up/beauty products, etc. LOVE them! Great for travel, and fun for general sampling. What are you guys going to be aiming for in the Inquisition? Or do you just plan on ordering individual items? I'm not sure that I'm going to order anything as things are tight moneywise with SW and with a whole bunch of dog related expenses. Most of the stuff is expensive, so I absolutely don't expect my witch to get me anything from it, but if I do decide to order anything, I'll post it in the SW thread so there is no possible overlap. I think the thing I'm MOST intrigued by is the Tricksy bath oil, and the Ginger Skulls perfume, though I suspect I would only like a partial of Ginger Skulls.     9/14/10 Chocolate or other types of candy? OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? ...every sock, ever. Just as long as they're not boring white! I tend to go for knee-thigh high as I wear a lot of skirts. Also, <3 tights, leggings and everything layerable. I like loose wool socks (for layering) but otherwise prefer cotton.   Dream Costume. Too many to list. O_O I really want to dress up as Lolth from D&D some year, because I'm that much of a geek. I still don't know what I want to be this year. How do you feel about recipes? If I send you something home made would you like the recipe for it? How about home made mixes or kits? I love the idea of all of these! I've always wanted to try one of those jar recipe kits. (Either to make one or to... make one. ) Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? Hello, dear witch! Here's more info for ya:   How do you feel about recipes? Love them, collect them, read them, test them!   What kind of a cook/baker are you? Slightly inept and very enthusiastic   Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? I only use my microwave for popcorn or re-heating. The last time I called a pizza place (or any other food delivery place) was in college. Food Network will NOT be pursuing me, however.   If I send you something home made would you like the recipe for it? of course!   If you are someone who doesn't want baked goods sent, would you like a collection of some of my favorite recipes? I would love both baked goods and/or recipes.   How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? Not so much...   Dollar store trinkets? I like silly refrigerator magnets; other stuff, not so much.   Word magnets? I would love this! It would be great for the filing cabinets in my office at work.   Crafting vs buying? 9/15/10 How do you feek about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? A Little is fun, too much is clutter.   Is there a specific book you've been wanting to get but haven't found the time or the opportunity to? 9/15/10 How do you feek about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? Stuff like that can be cool, but I'd prefer quality over quantity. =) (quality doesn't just mean value...I'm talking more about the thought/effort put into a gift, if that makes sense)   Is there a specific book you've been wanting to get but haven't found the time or the opportunity to? Apart from the sets of books already mentioned, I can't think of anything.   Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive managas or anything related to them? I've got the Final Fantasy anime series, but that's it. I'd love to watch some of the Studio Ghibli films, actually. I've been meaning to ever since I worked at the DVD store, but never got around to it. I'd also love to have a look at mangas because I want to learn Japanese again and they would make fantastic material for my origami.   Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? YES!!! That's my favourite thing about things like this whole thing!!! I really believe this should be about more than just ticking off a wishlist, and more thinking about what you can get for your witchee that she/he may never have even thought of.   If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? Sounds like a fantastic idea!   OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? Things that fit my weird feet/calves. I do need some taller socks to wear with my 14 hole Docs...They don't entirely lace closed properly so the skin/socks are still visible a bit, so something funky to wear would be nice. But finding things for wide calves is quite hard.   How do people feel about word magnets I don't have any, but they look interesting.   If you could have any costume, or if you aren't into costumes, necklace or other accessory, from any movie character, what would it be? Can't think right now, but it would probably be from a sci-fi or action or goth/vampire movie, if that helps.   How do you feel about samples/decants of things other than BPAL? Soap slices, lotion/scrub/shower gel decants, single use make-up/beauty products, etc. I'd rather full sizes, to be honest. I mean, I love samples, but usually I get ones from companies in the US which means it's expensive or impossible to get more, which is kinda sad when the product is really nice! So a full size means that I can enjoy it for a while. =)   What are you guys going to be aiming for in the Inquisition? Or do you just plan on ordering individual items? I'm still thinking about whether I can afford to order (because it will require organising an Aussie group order...effory....) but I'm thinking of just getting individual things because none of the set combos are must haves. Recorded usually, but live if it's good. I like live DVDs and music video DVDs about equally. Music videos can be really interesting to watch, like little films in their own right, sometimes. And non-edited please! If the artist wanted certain words in their music, then they should be left in!   If you are an animal lover, is there a specific type/breed that you love most? I love dogs, and in particular border collies and belgian shepherds. I rent at the moment so I can't have a dog (and can't really afford one, honestly) but I do love dogs and wish I could spend more time with them. My family dog (belgian shepherd) died a couple of years ago, on xmas eve, and I didn't get to say goodbye to her because I lived a long way from my parents. Are you a foodie? In terms of eating food, yes. In BPAL terms, no, with an exception for vanilla.   Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? Sure! I have a shower and a tub.     If you witch made you something and it didn't come out just right, would you still want it? Of course. And I bet that I wouldn’t even notice unless you pointed it out.   Do you like journals/notebooks/sketchbooks? Yes, I love little cute notebooks because I make lists all the time.   If you've got stuff on your BPAL wishlist, would partial bottles be okay? Haha of course, because I think we all know I’m not actually in danger of FINISHING all my legions of perfume.   Say you were my witchee, and I found things on your wishlist that I could totally make. Hello, my darling Witch! Thanks so much for the birthday present! It was the perfect thing! Especially because I got a trip for my birthday this year and was away from home on the day. So while it was a really nice time, and very special, yours was my only actual prezzie so far! I used it today to put towards a sundial ring pendant. His books are full of poignant quotes that ring so true to me. My favourite is The Pleasure of My Company, but I also love Shopgirl and his plays. I think he has a new novel I haven't read yet, called An Object of Beauty. His nonfiction is also good, but nowhere near as amazing as his fiction. Answers to Questions posed 9/15 by my Witch :D

Tell me more about your gaming likes and dislikes. Do you play games other than D&D? Which edition of D&D? Are there books or supplements you're looking for? What's your favorite weapon/spell/magic item? Describe one of your favorite characters for me.   Oh man...you asked for it. INUNDATION.   First and foremost, I like ROLEplaying, not ROLLplaying. I don't like sessions that are mostly hack and slash. I spend a LOT of time making my chars with their backstories, goals, connections, etc. I do want my chars to be effective in battle (who doesn't like to kick ass) but I do tend to pick abilities based on background.   I have played long campaings(sp?) before. I've mostly played DnD (3.5 and 4E), but have played two Feng Shui campains, played a few games of White Wolf and a home brew (spouse made a game based on 1,000 Blank White Cards). I had a lot of fun playing the DnD and the Feng Shui, with the Feng Shui being more enjoyable because it's non stop silliness when we play (I played a Scrappy Kid/Japanese School Girl and a Smuggler/Samuel L Jackson type lover of noodles). White Wolf was fun but it is darker and no one DM has been able to pull it off long enough for me to really enjoy it. And I have never LARPed. Not interested.   Books I am looking for? Not really but I do like the artwork in a lot of the books. I'll be honest, we're asshole pirates. Most books, I can find. But fantasy artbooks for inspiration? Awesome. I love Tony DiTerlizzi's artwork for Planescapes. Actually, I love that setting, Planescapes. All the other settings (Ravenloft, Faurun) sound awesome. But when we play, we usually do homebrews :/ That was probaby super unhelpful.   Favorite Weapon/Spell/Magic Item: Ah...my favorite 'magic item' that was a joke I came up with was a 'vorpal sap.' I always talked about it and when I GMed, all my chars were afraid of saps they came across. It was ridiculous. Favorite item that one of my chars has had personally? Hmm...I don't think I've had many sweet magic items. I always get attached to more personal, 'mundane' items. My elf druid had a creepy ass mask made out of plant detrius that he made himself. He made them. My half elf rogue had a set of lockpicks that were hand picked by her over the years, pieces of bone, metal, knitting and crochet items, hat pins and needles all augmented by her to get the job done. Oh, well...when I was a wizard/bard, I made broomsticks of Mount so we wouldn't need horses. I used Rope Trick a lot as that char, and Lightening...kill of get the hell away when you have a few hit points. A player and I joked about making a Rope Belt of Rope Trick. I swear, it wasn't all shenanigans like this! When I was a ranger, I used...what the hell was it...the one where you make plants grow up and grab people. My druid once used Summon Animal to conjure up a monkey to help him knock someone out of a spell induced stupor (yes, the monkey flew through the air, landed on the person's head and went crazy on him. It worked).   ONE of my fave chars?! GAH! ONE?! **falls over**   Well...   I will say Tavera. Because she started off as a DnD char and then...well, I wrote a freaking book about her. A whole book. It's finished. That probably propels her above the others. I've had some great chars, very well received chars, but I never wrote BOOKS about them and their friends. I seperate book Tavi from DnD Tavi because well, I had to give her stats and what not, make her fit in the game so there was something lost in translation. She is a half elf rogue that grew up among humans. She had an Oliver Twist like upbringing for her childhood and was eventually rescued from a life of potential prostitution by her adopted father, Derk. She became a thief and after he initiation into a Thieves Guild, witnessed her father being taken in by the authorities. Per his request, she struck out on her own and made friends, became involved in various things and learned things about herself as her life circled back. She has dark, short hair that can make her look boyish, a slim frame, a mouth that borders on too big for her face, a pert nose and dark eyes. I played her with a British accent (think Mason from Dead Like Me). She always carried the gold ribbon from her initiation and her rosary as she is somewhat devoted to the Goddess the people in her region favor (it helps that as a poor, hungry child, the priestesses took her in many a time). She seems like an extrovert but is actually introverted. One of her ears has the point cut off of it, an injury from an old employer that ended badly. SW Q&A September 14th

Chocolate or other types of candy? Is this a vs? I like candy and chocolate; especially real black licorice, dark chocolate, and anything gummy, blackberry, black currant, or raspberry flavored.   For tea drinkers, do you prefer loose leaf or tea bags? either/or   If you would enjoy something of a knitted persuasion, do you have a preference on type of thing? Since making a scarf for someone who has 10 might be a smidge excessive? Also, how do people feel about shawls? You can never have to many shawls. Shawls are awesome. I also like leg and arm warmers. I dont' really wear beenies. But if you make it, I will.   Is there a TV, movie or literary character that you are a lot alike, or would like to be alike? I used to idolize Pippi Longstocking as a small child (okay, kind of now, too...), my sixth grade teacher told me I reminaded her of Anne(of Green Gables)-- but I think that was because we didn't get along. My friend group convinced me to play as Orihime from Bleach on the basis that we were very alike, and thus little cosplay would be involved. I don't know about that, but I'm that group's "Orihime" now. In college, I was compared to both Goldberry and Galadriel(such high praise, I know). The Goldberry I can see, maybe? I don't know. I don't tend to think of myself as anything other than me. Which is kind of boring, I admit.   Is there anything you need for your kitchen, ie measuring cups, spoons, grater, ect? Probably. But other than the spices I'm currently out of, I can't think of much. I'd love any of those fancy metal mold things for cakes and puddings? Or, as someone else said, an apron. Not that I ever remember to wear one. But I like the idea of aprons.   Music, do you prefer Live or Studio? Edited or explicit? It depends. I like the crispness of studio, but some of my favorite artists have music they perform only in live instances, and it is awesome. Also, songs like Stephen Lynch does are probably more awesome with the audience reaction in them. I like my lyrics unmessed-with, with rare exception.   If you are an animal lover, is there a specific type/breed that you love most? Dogs: Akita, greyhound, Irish Wolfhound Cats: Cornish Rex, Sphynx, Abyssinian; but my mogs are made of Love, and I would not trade them for purebreds. Random animals: Hedgehogs, seals, herons, dolphins, macaques-- there are very few animals I dislike, actually.   Also flowers and plants- If you like flowers/plants, do you have a favorite(s)? Wow, the only possible things that could be longer than a list of animals or manga/anime... I like plants. I think my favorite flower is a type of bistort. I love mint, and Iceberg and rugosa roses, Chestnut trees, holly, seaweed.. Yeah, there are no plants I dislike, although I may be slightly allergic to tomato leaves(this in no way deters me from growing them, disturbingly).   Do you have a favorite quotation? Song lyric? Book passage? WhateverthehecktheycalltheanonymousregionalwisdomthingiePROVERB! that word. I love words. I can't think of anything super awesome right now, so I will rip off Barm Stoker's Dracula with "True Love Never Dies" and translate an old Fries phrase "If it can't be how it should be, then it should be how it can be" (and if anyone else on this forum understands Fries, they are my HERO)     What is a bpal scent that you've been dying to try for awhile but just can't find? (A scent where even a tester would do) I'm kind of in a glut of fabulous, so I don't really quest after too many things. I suppose any of the rare and wonderful things on my wishlist?   Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that you have some children/spawn (1 or more), and, hypothetically speaking, your witch would like to spoil them a little but knows nothing of kids these days. What do they like or dislike? Also is there anything a (sane) adult might think they would like that you don't think is appropriate for whatever reason? (I'm thinking of things like temp tattoos, make up, things that make noise, or anything else that might be bad for non-obvious reasons.) I, sadly, have no spawn, nor have I a significant other. Please feel free to send me anything your heart desires. As long as furballs can't eat it, and get sick. That would make me very sad.   Is there anything you would like that can be delivered over the internet? Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that. If you've found something entertaining to spam me with, spam away. I do it to my people all the time.   What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) If you are going to kill me, I'd like it over with. I don't enjoy the anticipation of bad things. I probably wouldn't be able to keep food down anyway.   NaNoWriMo? Woo HOO! Last year was my first year, and I am so on to do it again this year. I convinced one of my best friends to try it as well. She's a little nervous, but it is going to be fabulous. I even have my plot loosely figured out. It will be the same characters from last year's story, two books later. Weeeee!   And some from 9/13 Do you hate any food things with a passion?? mold cheeses(kill it with fire), Hershey's chocolate bars-- you don't want to know. (And maybe not with a fiery passion, but:) onion pieces(it's the texture, not the flavor, pickled baby onions, and powder is okay; funyuns are delicious, for example), garlic in quantity, bell peppers or peppers, beets(tomatoes and beets both tast a lot like blood to me, so I may be allergic to beets as well, but I am so not eating them again to find out). And I don't eat things that live in my garden; no frogs' legs, no snail. Nuh uh. I'm a picky eater. I'm sorry! But I love lots of things it seems pretty common for people to hate, so that makes up for it. Maybe?   Would you be opposed to receiving a digital version (via email) of a magazine you like but don't subscribe to...you know, in the interest of saving a tree? This would be *awesomely* fabulous.
