Switch Witch Ketchup #5

Sorry dear Witch, but I got eaten by the ZOMG SW thread is overwhelming monster. BUT I did manage to dive in today and grab these questions from the great Lioness.   I hope all is well with you wherever you may be!   10/4/10 Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation? Don't sent me yarn, the cat might like it, but that's it. Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.? Sure! I'd hang it up at work. Do any witchees need a Snuggie? We have several Snuggies, but they don't get used that often, so no thank you.   10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? When I was little we used to have a Pom tree in our yard.. eating them is fun, but a bit of a pain. They are yummy in juice and not so yummy on me. I've tried the 5 Weenie Pom scents and only one was a win and it wasn't the one I expected! I love Pom V, but I guess my love of amber redeems everything and the pepper actually behaved and didn't amp to high stinky heaven. Haunt Update? No thank you, I tried a few decants of their perfume and really was not amazed... everything just smelled like potpourri and really did not work with my chemistry.     9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? Cobwebs sounds intriguing but I don't know if it would actually smell good? Curious but I don't think it's worth wasting money on.. I'd rather pick up some other tried and true favs.. hehe. how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? Hmmm I'm pretty picky about my purses, so please no. Lunch bags or that type of thing is welcome though. I love having a selection. Now, I have a question for you. About notes. Which are your favourite ones? Do you have a kind of "note top ten?" Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you? Oh boy, hard question. Now I have to think! Though I also think I provide this info in various places. I tend to land with alot of the heavier type of scents. Incensey, musky. So far even the lighter scents I like end up having "weight". Like Green Tree Viper and Daiyu, they are lighter scents but in the end - they end up with a warm vanilla note. (doesn't smell like pastry cream that they stuff long johns with, but with that sort of scent heaviness to it. I think this is why I hate describing scents.. I have an odd vocabulary) Anyhoo I am trying to find some lighter sparkling types. But if that never happens, I'm happy with the fun ones I have now Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? No thank you, I do think they are amazing and very beautiful, you never see things like that in Hawaii.. but it is very humid here and we have lots of bugs. I think the ants would find a way to carry it off!   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Not really, though I will go into the shower and use my peppermint soap to just breathe in and feel tingly and fresh and hopefully dissolve all the tension. What are you going to be for Halloween? I have no idea. Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? I don't think so?   9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? Nopers, this sounds soo negative, but I really can't imagine real scents getting captured in a bottle. I know sometimes that it does happen. And most times it's just nature, and I don't want to smell like it, I just enjoy it when I notice it. Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? Nopers, I do decant circles and can easily order this type of thing.   9/24/10 Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? A cat Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? Ummm none of the mentioned things, but if there's something foody like Jam, bread, cookies, YES PLEASE? Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? No thanks. There are so many etailers! Good grief! Venomous Villains? I got the pretties I wanted. Last Unicorn? I'm kinda meh, I gotta a read the story, and see the notes. I'm actually more interested in the RPG line. Who is your fav Disney Villian/villianess? How about hero/herione? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though) Favorite Villain is Maleficent. Favorite disney char.. it's not a hero or a heroine... it's the fairies in Cinderella.. I love how they argued and I dunno, they are just soooo dang cute!!!   9/23/10 Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? Not really, I would just lose it I know that just sounds sooo horrid, but I know me.. I would misplace it by accident. What's your favorite Halloween Music? Silly stuff.. Monster Mash! Thriller.   9/22/10 Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? No I don't, I used to visit deviantart, but they had so much stuff it became overwhelming. Is there anything from Blooddrop that you want to try? GC? Halloween update? No thank you. What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? Hmm I don't need want any, my feet are picky and I wouldn't like used ones. Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? Not really Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags? No, I tend to gravitate toward elegant, clean lines. What song is on heavy rotation for you right now? Wow, weird.. I just realized I haven't been really listening to music lately. Are you coveting any of the NYCC atmospheric sprays? Nopers If you could get any one thing hand-painted from your witch, what would it be and what would be on it? Art is so subjective that I have a really hard time pinning it down... like perfume. Most times I just react. Which is so not helpful to my Witch >.< Sorry! Just surprise me, I know that I would love anything just because! Would you (assumin' you're a yarnie) be interested in a naturally-dyed yarn that's designed to very gradually fade with washing? I'm not a yarnie! Wheee easy question to answer. If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW. Not SW (this is my first time) - I think one of the neatest things I ever received was a magazine that a friend cut & pasted into.. and subbed pics of our group of friends into. It was so different and obviously well thought out.. (p.s. Witch, the imps you sent would fall into this category!)   9/21/10 Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? Umm you can talk to me about it?? They are alright, I read and watch stuff with them in them. I'm not particularly obsessed with them... I do love early Anita Blake stuff where she raised them and such, in fact I wish they would go back in that direction... BLAH!! lol!

More condiments!

10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? I like them as a scent, flavoring, and fruit. I wouldn't say I "love" them, though.   Haunt Update? I like the sound of Winter House, and the candy corn lip balm. And the pumpkin scrub. And pretty much anything else!!!   9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? Oh yes!!! Smashing sounds, well, smashing!   how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? I could use a little shoulder purse in a neutral color.   Now, I have a question for you. About notes. Which are your favourite ones? Do you have a kind of "note top ten?" Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you? I think I have answered this before. I love vanilla, tobacco, incense, resins, carnations, some rose, honey, most musks, woods, oak, hay, bread/cake, cream/milk, fir, spices. I don't like aquatics, metals, ozones. I enjoy most fruits and some booze, and like complex florals if they are also creamy and/or spicy.     Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? Not sure!   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Mmm... Snake Oil     What are you going to be for Halloween? Not sure! Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? I enjoy making beer and other fermented beverages, and really enjoy making them from plants or weeds. Hello, Witch! I hope you are having a good weekend!   More ketchup for you, in case you want it. I haven't had all my coffee yet so bear bad spelling, grammatical errors and downright wrongness.   Pomegranates: I love to eat pomegranates. I havent had one in a while. Pomegranate flavored stuff is okay, though I prefer the real thing. I love pomegranate juice.   Notes top ten! In no particular order:   1. Chocolate/cocoa (especially) 2. Leather (especially) 3. Patchouli 4. Red Musk 5. Um.....Vetiver! 6. Pine or Birch (but not 'wood.') 7. Cognac? 8. Incense but in moderation 9. Salt?? Spices? 10. ??? Beer? Wine?     Maybe this would help. Favorite scents are Ghoul Hooligan, Crowley, Tintagel, Miller v. Cali, Lawn Gnome, Thanatopsis, Tezcatlipoca. Tezcatlipoca was my first BPAL love. The kind of scent I like is altered foody. Food with something else in it to make it not foody. I'm wearing Calaveras right now and it's nice. If it's too foody, it is usually boring to me (I'm looking at you, Mother Shub's Spiced Lait de Chevre). I like War too. Thanatopsis is an example of a not foody scent that I like. I'm pretty unforgiving with my bottles. If I don't love it and/or it lacks throw and longevity, I generally rehome it. Things that I have rehomed include Raven Moon, Mountain of Bone, Giant Squid, Lead Phoenix, Fledgling Raptor Moon, Tombstone, Antique Lace, Manhattan, Juke Joint, Mr. Ibis, Buggre All This Bible, Green Tree Viper, etc. I hated Shub Niwhatever because I tend to amp incense so it goes from love to me turning into a walking temple and then people start bowing down and sacrificing animals to be and there's blood and well. You get the idea. Cthulhu in Love is great until the incense becomes the main note and then isn't interesting.   Nocturne Alchemy is my other perfume love and so it bears to mention I love their: honey, kyphi, vanilla, lavender, lotus, sand (yes, this is a note for them, heh), Egyptian Musk, Sapphire, Nokturne2, Sapphire, Cream, Carnation, Coconut, Spices, etc. I can actually wear their florals without dying. My faves of theirs are Eternal Ankh, Blue Egypt, Hathor, Diety Moon: Bastet...Eternal Egypt...I have a lot of theirs still to test, I have notes somewhere. Gah.   I should also add, as a Cancer, I am always on the search for the perfect Moon oil and water oil. I've tried quite a few moons out, BPAL wise and haven't been overly impressed with any of them. I have NA's Diety Moon Bastet and I really like it but it's not my holy grail Moon oil. even with my love for Bast. I missed out on Diety Moon Hathor and kick myself daily for not getting it. I HATE ozone because it turns to Irish Spring on me and it tends to be in a lot of water perfumes.   I will also mention, things that make me squee and make me want it (I mentioned this before): Conan, Lovecraft, Sky Doll (not that this matters, I think I'm the only person who knows what the hell it is), Ancient Egypt especially Bast, Hathor and Thoth, Hermes, mystical Christianity/Christian mythology/symbols, Phillip K Dick (Electric Sheep smell? Anyone? Bueller?), forest, DnD/RPG stuff and ELVES. ELVES ELVES ELVES.   This turned out to be A LOT longer than I had anticipated and I am insanely sorry for being so freaking LONG WINDED. Oi. But hey, I'm a BPALer. Get me talking about perfumes and all bets are off, right   Edit: ___dammit, I did perfume testing today and got a bunch of winners. In addition to Calaveras, Infernal Lover was pretty good, VA Nikolav and NA Ra's Coco Lotus are are killer. DAMMIT. I haven't had this much luck in ever.   I hope your weekend is going well, witch! **hugs**

Anyone wanting anything from it?   I already used my witch's GC to order from Villainess, but that's ok, I think I shall try the ones I have before getting more.   how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc?   I would love a lunch bag! I'm trying to bring my lunch more regularly to save money and eat healthy, and currently it's just in a drawstring ripstop nylon knitting bag. A "real" lunch bag would be fun.   Now, I have a question for you. About notes. Which are your favourite ones? Do you have a kind of "note top ten?" Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you?   Some of my favorites are neroli / mimosa / orange blossom, other fruity notes, almond, spicy notes, etc. I don't really have a top 10, I just noticed that many of the things I like have those notes. Tea is good too, I love Dorian! In terms of categories, I generally flavor foody and fruity - definitely not floral or aquatic or woody. Some musk is ok (like Snake Oil) but I like it sweet.   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general?   Sure! I have some sugar skull shoes that are pretty cute, but not very seasonally appropriate so I wear them mostly during the summer.   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? My favorite notes are foody ones - vanilla, cake, etc. and fruit - lemon, orange, berries, etc. I can handle musk in small amounts, same with spice notes. Light floral notes are okay as well, and I'm often drawn to aquatic scents but they rarely work out!   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? If my witch wants to make me anything, I would appreciate it. SW Q&A Sept.25-October 1st!

9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients?   Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? I don't think I *need* any, but sure?   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? I used to wear Akuma all the time. but I think I overused it at work, and began associating it with aromatherapy stress relief. So now, we are taking a break(Kumiho is subbing for him). If I really need help sleeping, I will use Absinthe. It reminds me of the anise milk I used to get when I was little. My scent for putting on and just instantly feeling happy and good, and comfortable is Makhanitis. It's just that awesome. But, I have all of these, so please don't feel you need to get me any of them.   What are you going to be for Halloween? It was between a tightrope walker(if you've ever seen the painting at Disneyland's Haunted House of the girl over the crocodile pit with her parasol?) or the same botanist character I am gearing up to be at the Steampunk Exhibition next year. But now, it is looking more like gypsy fortune teller/dancer-- which I was last year. It is both fun and comfortable.   Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? I also have a tendency to use my purses until they end, and I would feel bad doing that to a gift. I don't really use lunchbags. I do use totes, cooler bags for shopping/picnics, and I love the reusable shopping bags that fold down in to a tiny square so I can always have one with me in my purse.   Now, I have a question for you. My favorite note include: anise, bergamot, champaca,currant, linden, mimosa, mint, musk, neroli/orange blossom, plum, ,(burgundy)wine, strawberry, and just citrus in general. I like fruit, candy, incense, spices, and happy flowers in general. oh-- and tonka and tobacco have been love recently. I have no idea what scent family I'm most in. Good Judy: Smooth & Neat

Smooth & Neat Category: Resinate Quantity: sample   Description: SMOOTH & NEAT The aromatic flavoring of a fine liqueur, extremely sensual and smooth with a wonderful warming finish. Served neat. Patchouli leaves, bright orange citrus, smooth vanilla, and a splash of hazelnut liqueur.   Review:   In the bottle: Patchouli, orange and hazelnut liqueur.   Wet: Warm orange and sweet vanilla, for the most part; everything else is in the background.   Dry: The patchouli and liqueur come back, but it’s still smooth. It’s not the aggressive patchouli some old ladies are so fond of…   Verdict: It’s well balanced, smooth and clean, with a sweet dose of vanilla and orange. However, patchouli smells old on me, so the sample will probably become lovely soap material.

En espanol! Just kidding!   Witch O'Mine, I wanted to say thank you for the wonderful package. It was very sweet. I have been kind of missing Portland a little bit so wonderful tea from there made me happy. I wore the earrings to work! And my daughter loved the stickers! I hope you saw the comments she made in the IGI thread. She put the owl stickers all over herself, heh. Portents to come. A tattooed baby. And the chocolate was very yummy I needed a sweet fix yesterday night and the xocolatl was good! Sweet enough to satisfy me but spicy enough to keep me from eating the whole thing!   You are very sweet and good at making cards too And packaging   Here is more ketchup for you:   Sugar Skull: Now that I know I'm not supposed to eat it, I am open to it. However, I live in the South. I dont know how that would affect said sugar skull. But I don't do a day of the dead thing. Like most Americans, I don't think about dead people in my family, just numbers in the news and what not.   Lentils: I like lentils, especially french lentils. I make lentil soup a lot in the winter months. My daughter loves any kind of soup and my spouse loves lentils. I make a pretty mean lentil soup. A bit of white wine and thyme goes a long way.   Purses: I have two purses. A utilitarian bag with lots of space/pockets for a mom and a black 'leather' purse for when I don't need to schlep stuff. I pretty much always need to schlep stuff though, hehe. And my bags ALWAYS need handles! I cannot do a clutch! I would lose it.   Haunt Update: I haven't looked at it :/ Tengo miedo para me cartera.   I like beets. I make beet salsa! If you cut beets up into little cubes, spread them out on a baking sheet after sprinkling on a bit of olive oil and salt, roast them at 400 degrees till they're done (I know, real descriptive...keep an eye on them after 20 mins?), then put in a bowl with chopped red onion, cilantro, garlic, lime juice and a splash of red vinegar, let it chill in the fridge for a bit and you will have yummy salsa ready for fish tacos! It's yummy!   Okies, that is all! I LOVE YOU, WITCH!

IN Case My WITCH Is WONDERING-HALLOWEENIE SW 2010_YAY

Today my most wonderful witch sent me an email, asking me what I would want if by chance she placed a lab order and something slipped in.(cough) I think it would be bread and butterfly OR boo. My witch has gifted me with amazing soaps and creams and I feel all clean and moisturized thanks to her>!   though I must confess, dear witch, I have never experienced little pony crafting fondness:( Hope this is not upsetting to you.. And tonight(ok, this morning) am gonna peruse my amazon list, and place an order using the gift certificate you sent me! Another BIG YAY! Ok, I hope you had a good day, and got your coffee and milk, because those are extremely important items to have on hand, and whatever your research is, coffee & milk will make it easier(IMHO)   Oh,as far as beverages go,I'm probably set on TEA (thanks to various wonderful witches)   and I love local items (especially mugs) though I confess I have no need for shot glasses...and I will try to post here, and meanwhile, thank you so much-you are a most excellent witch! signed, your witchee:wub2:

A little Cheese Sauce

Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? The Cobweb perfume oil has been calling my name, and I’ll probably have to try it at some point. And, I’m a sucker for cute little bottles and containers of any sort, so I’m sure that is adding to the appeal. Killer Treez looks yummy. Smashing whipped (pumpkin whipped? Yes, this must be mine) Autumn Gala may have fallen into my order with something for my Witch, but I love the scent so much that I could buy it by the 55 gallon drum and still have to worry about running out! Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Lately it has been CC Male, which I notice is running low. I tend to really like the leather blends as “comfort scents”. What are you going to be for Halloween? A fireman. I’m on call for work. I don’t know what the notes would be, but Beth could make it better than I could ever hope to, anyway. Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? Little roller balls would be neat. So would decanting supplies, and I’ve always wanted to try making an alcohol based perfume. I know one of the supply companies has kits to do it, with the container, the perfumers alcohol, and what not, but I’ll be darned if I can remember which one. Purses I LLLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEEEE purses and bags!!!! And I have more than any 10 women could ever use, that, however, has never stopped me from buying more! The most useful type for me are the bigger tote bag style. Big enough that I can throw a note book and my smallish laptop into it.

I've always felt that the BPAL's London is wrong...it's all rosy, and doesn't work on me at all, which is so unlike actual London. To add to the insanity Rightstuf the great anime enabling site today announced 40% off funimation titles today. if you have been on the great amazon list of DOOM you have seen there are quite a few titles on there that come from that company. Just a note: on my Wishlists, things tend to move around without warning. This mostly doesn't mean I bought it, just that I moved it to another list instead. For instance, on Amazon, I have several private wish lists including one called (heh) "Considerations." I know it is sort of annoying, but it's the absolute and only way I can keep the main one from swelling out of control and probably crashing Amazon's servers. First of all, I want to say thank you for mentioning my daughter in the card you sent. It really meant a lot to me and was very sweet. I appreciate it.   Rollerballs: I don't need any but I suspect my daughter does. She spilled a partial bottle of Beaver Moon all over herself the other day (granted, she said she *wanted* to spill it all over herself...but yeah). That reminds me of something, thanks Witch!   Villainess: Okay, ALL of the new ones sound great :/ However, I am lamenting the fact that my skin is on the dryer side and does not always agree with their soap. I am a lazy moisturizer! It's sad, I know! It's because I don't always have time after I shower (at night) to properly moisturize. Even the smooches, with all their oily goodness dry me out. I think I need to only stick to their Whippeds Though I might get a pumpkin soap for my daughter, her skin is way more forgiving than mine and she just finished her bar of Pieman I like giving her the super foodie scents   I hope you are having a good week, Witch! Autumn came in with rain and cool weather and I am very happy because of it. I'm actually a BIT nostalgic for the NW!

I was going to be “mildly attractive Link” because I was going to make a long skirt and wear an overbust corset for the costume. However, I changed my plans to get some underbust practice in. But underbust is inherently closer to “halloween sexy” (ie, kinda slutty) than overbust so… attractive. My fiancé is gonna be Zelda (well, Sheik, because – as I told someone earlier, he has limits). First Creation Category: Unreleased Blends Quantity: sample   Description: FIRST CREATION N/A   Review:   In the bottle: It’s very soft, a little bit floral, with something sweet, such as vanilla or honey.   Wet: It’s already more herbal, lemony, maybe even with a spicy background note, but I can’t find what it is.   Dry: Still soft, creamy, lemony, and floral. It’s a bit old-lady-ish, but it smells clean and soft.   Verdict: Yes, it’s a bit old-fashioned, but it smells good; and the ingredients are very mysterious!
