Tuesday Ketchup!

10/9/10 I came home with some Dungeon Crawl and some Bedbugs yesterday. If you were my witchee, would you want some of either/both?   10/7/10 Did you forget anything fun/interesting or find something new and exciting?   10/5/10 Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular? If they were in English I would like them... cooking, history, etc.   would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush? I love Lush stuff! The Gingerbread house bath bomb, the Glogg(!!), the Bearded Lady bubble bar, the Lil Lush Bath Pud, the Candy Cane... they are all good. And such a treat.   Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be? Bedbug? Or the British Blondes atmosphere spray.   If someone were to make you one of the items in this post which would it be? I don't know!!! Maybe something to eat? Or mittens?   If you were my witchee, would you mind a gift certificate where you'd have to do it old school style and mail it in with your order form? I'd love it!     10/4/10 Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation? Not too much into yarn yet...   Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.? I would like this a lot.   Do any witchees need a Snuggie? Possibly!

Ketchup of EPIC proportions!

10/9/10 I came home with some Dungeon Crawl and some Bedbugs yesterday. If you were my witchee, would you want some of either/both? I'd love to try Bedbugs, and a bottle of Dungeon Crawl would make me very very happy! (already have a DC decant)   10/7/10 Did you forget anything fun/interesting or find something new and exciting? Not that I can think of at the moment, but if/when it occurs to me, I'll post it.   10/5/10 Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular? YES! In particular, Russian or Japanese magazines would be awesome.   would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush? Maybe...we don't get a lot of the new things here for ages, which is annoying. Also we get none of the Halloween stuff. Boo.   Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be? Lincoln Tunnel Vortex. I did have a pickup arranged, but I had to cancel because I could only afford one pickup...and my Witchee really wanted something, so I spent the money on her.   If someone were to make you one of the items in this post which would it be? None, sorry. I hate bulky stuff around my neck, which is why I like thinner scarves.   If you were my witchee, would you mind a gift certificate where you'd have to do it old school style and mail it in with your order form? As long as it was within Australia, sure! Although usually I've gotten away with doing that sort of thing via scanning/photographing it anyway.   10/4/10 Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation? Not really...nothing to complicated, given I'm a beginner. Maybe big giant weird ones, coz it's quicker? I do prefer working with (fine, soft) wool though. (which is why the yarn you already sent is so awesome!) Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.? Posting plants to Australia is not a good idea. Also xmas wreaths would just wither and die in the Australian summer sun!   Do any witchees need a Snuggie? LOL. No.   10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? I love the fruit especially on frozen yoghurt, the juice, and pom flavoured things are usually nice. As a scent I do like it, but I wish BPAL's pom was more fruity and realistic.   Haunt Update? No idea.     9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? YES!!! Okay, I'll admit, I already caved and bought a couple of Cobwebs burns, a Mudslide burn, and the Cobwebs perfume. However, I'd LOVE more burns, and I always need smacks.   how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? I have enough handbags etc, but I'd love a small bag to put my bento box in. Or a new awesome bento box! And I would love more Glomesh bags so I can take them apart and use the mesh to make things. So if you have any old broken ones you want to send my way, go for it! Now, I have a question for you. About notes. That's all pretty much covered in my wishlist, so I think you should be set one that one. But I'm up for trying anything, as always.   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? I have no idea what that is, but if is related at all to Dia De Los Muertos I'd love it. I really would like to learn more about those traditions, because being in SE Asia/Pacific we don't have a lot of exposure to it.   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Poisoned Apple, SGA, and more recently, Gypsy Moth.   What are you going to be for Halloween? No idea...I don't have my friends down here so I don't think I'll be going to any parties....(how tragic)   Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? Yes. And this is a really weird thing for a stranger to buy someone but I don't care....I love aerie underwear...it's the most comfortable underwear ever, and I can't get it here. I did try to get a friend to buy some and send them to me, but 5 months later and she STILL hasn't forwarded my package. Anyway. The style I like the most is the boybriefs, and I'm a size L. As for colours...black is always good, generally I like things in darker colours or not too girlie. So yeah, that's probably a bit weird, but if my witch is in the US then it would be a really awesome thing to buy me!

wishlist updating!

I'm still answering all the questions I missed, but I wanted to let my witch know that I've updated my book wishlist...it's now on both the US and UK websites, because some of the books are not available on both sites and the prices aren't always the same, so I have two lists. Also I recently bought one of the books on my list, (origami bonsai) so I've removed it. Hopefully it doesn't interfere with your witchy plans!   http://www.bookdepository.com/wishlist/522807/Elizabeth-Knox http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/wishlist/320870/Elizabeth-Knox

My First Blog Here! (Awww...)

So this is my first blog here... anyone who may read, hello! I'm used to keeping a Livejournal, and a Myspace. I refuse to participate on Facebook, though. I suppose I'll keep this to be mainly about my BPAL experiences, with only slight nods to general stuff. So far, I've only been a member of this forum for a few weeks. I have to say I am really impressed! Everyone here seems so kind. It is amazing to me that all you have to do is post or PM, and people will kindly sell you something you are wanting. Except Boomslang; no one seems to want to imp that one, LOL! That's okay, I guess I will wait for my Pell grant refund next month and order a bottle. If it does not work for me, I am sure I can find someone who would give it a good home. I'm just so curious what all the fuss is about! But I am really amazed at the kindness here at this forum. The Lab should be proud to have such a wonderful group of people following. So of the about 30 scents I own at the moment, I'm in love with about 8. I have 10 more still coming in the mail from forumites, and an imp pack on order with the Lab, and about 30 more on the wishlist. What is still coming yet is: 3 weenies, 2 LEs, 4 GC's and 1 vampire scent. Right now my top favorite scents are VOODOO and HECATE. Soooo in love with those. Since I have been here, I've discovered that the orange blossom note does bad things on me. That has to be the problem, since it is in all the scents that are epic fails on me. The Big Bads have been Monarch, The Black Tower and Vixen/Love Me/Jezebel. (I lump those three together because they all do the same nasty thing on me). I'm terribly curious about Shub Niggurath, because I am wondering how much like Origins ginger it is? I guess I'll find out soon enough. I have to admit that I am not that keen on the collecting aspect as far as getting all these old, obscure LE's. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just that being a single mom with limited funds, and getting into it so late, I would rather look to the future. There is just two of them I cannot get from the lab anymore, that I was so seduced by the descriptions of that I must try.But rather than worry about Pink Snowballs from 2006 or something, I am really looking forward to The Last Unicorn and the Midnight Carnival, for example. Let alone this year's Yules. So now the full moon has multiple meanings to me; 1. the Lunacy update from the lab, 2. Craziness at work, and 3. Meditations. One thing I am really liking about this place is that there is a high Pagan population. It is really reminding me of ways I used to be, of feelings I used to have. I am hoping that being here can influence me to be the person I want to be. I've gotten so cynical the last several years of my life. I would really like to get in touch with feelings about the old ways again. Gods knows this world needs more love in it. I really want to be a part of it, but find myself constantly trying to learn how. I can't help but feel the last several months that something has been really wrong with me. Probably depression trying to weasel it's way onto me. Coming here and coveting scents and looking forward to new ones gives me a fun distraction. I appreciate it. (Besides pondering "Where is Chloe Sullivan?""What is Sophie's real name?""Who is Gaby's real daughter?""Why does Christine think she's dead?""When will Lily get pregnant?" and of course, "How long til Peter figures out that's not his Olivia?"

2010 Halloween Switch Witch Answers and Related Rambling -- Post #3

posted 10/20/2010:   Something I love that I can't always find in stores: Chocolate-covered cinnamon Altoids.   Sooooo . . . if you were my witchee and if I managed to get childcare & went, is there anything in particular (from Violette Market) you'd be interested in? you can even check out the other crafters (like candle lab) at Craftin Outlaws to give me suggestions! I don't have time to look through all of those, but if anything seems appropriate, sure!   I came home with some Dungeon Crawl and some Bedbugs yesterday. If you were my witchee, would you want some of either/both? Sure!   Was there a question about Halloween hand sanitizers? If yes, then my answer is that I might well be interested, depending on the notes. Preferably in tiny containers.   Would you want your witch to reveal herself? How? I really like it when my witch reveals (I would love to know who you are and gush at you and get to know you, my Witch, because you seem really awesome!), but if you prefer not to, I'll understand. How? Well, however you like!   I have an idea for a crafty project, but if it should be "fail" would you want it? Yup!   Are you interested in Halloween costumes for your pet(s)? No pets, and honestly I probably wouldn't put a pet in a costume, anyway, unless it were obvious that the pet really enjoyed or something.   Today I got one of the Starbucks Halloween Bearista Bears - it's dressed like a werewolf! Is this something witchees might like? Sure, those are cute!   Tartchef asks: Sandalwood Vanilla, all lovely & creamy & soft, like Gjetost Sweet Witchee, this beauty needs 4-6 weeks to cure, but once it's done, would you like a sliver? Heck yeah!   Anyone else like fancy cheese? What kinds? HELL YES. Pretty much everything except blue cheeses or otherwise moldy cheeses (for example, I adore the soft, buttery middle of brie but don't like the rind), or things that smell or taste like burnt rubber (sadly, gjeltost is not for me).   Do you prefer scented or unscented lotions/moisturizers? Scented, though I have to really like the scent and I prefer if the scent is not too strong, but lingers subtly (ideally, such that I can smell it for a long time, but soft enough that it doesn't bother other people).   So....let's say that you're my witchee, and you have an affinity for widgets. Let's also pretend that I sent you one of these widgets, but in a form that has a very special personal significance to me. Would you find that to be touching (in a "Yay, now I'll always use this and think of my witch!" way) or tacky (in a "My witch is making this all about her!" way)? I would LOVE that!   Have you had a chance to try Halloweenies? If so, which ones are you really really in love with this year? I haven't gotten to try all the decants I got (and with everyone talking about The Shadowy and the Sublime I've been somewhat wishing that I'd gotten that one to try, too), but of the ones I've tried, I've adored Pom II, Pom V, and Blue Pumpkin Floss (and I also really liked Pom IV and Lambswool 2010). I have a ton more to try, though. I'll attempt to get through the ones I have this week with the report!   I know these have been mentioned before, prolly even in SW, but they sut came to my attention & I think they are very cool. Pocket shrines! Would you like one, made for a particular obsession of yours? Sure!   Oooooh Witchee?? Would you like to try Paintbox Soapworks new soap? Ooh, yes, I would indeed!   posted 10/9/2010:   Addendum on amigurumi: a cactus or tree would be nifty! Or a hedgehog! Or a penguin! Or a shark!   I need to know what color kitchen my witch has! Beige walls, warm tan stucco tiles, medium-dark wood, grey counters, black countertop on the island.   If your witch worked for, say, Starbucks, would you like any coffee/instant coffee/tea? Sure!   Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? "Need" is a strong word, but I'd like little ones, maybe decant-sized or so, possibly bit larger than that.   Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? For stress, Baku! I swear it's the equivalent of a half-hour massage -- I can actually feel my muscles relaxing and my head clearing. It's amazing. For cheering up, though, I tend to go for Aglaea, my very first BPAL love. It's so bright and warm and juicy and shimmering and gorgeous, it's hard to be unhappy in the face of it.   Beets: Are insanely delicious when roasted. I like lentils, too! And potatoes and swiss chard and lettuce. And truffles and earthy mushrooms! Apparently dirt is yummy!   What are you going to be for Halloween? I probably won't. All of my costumes are halfway across the country in boxes. ;_; Which is especially sad because I now live in the kind of neighborhood where lots of children trick o' treat, and I think it would be fun to dress up for them. My go-to costume is a succubus -- black bat wings and twisty horns, both dusted with gold, and a devil tail made of black and gold ribbon.   Just found this : http://www.etsy.com/...ref=seller_info Oh God. The caramelized onions. The apple butter. The PUMPKIN BUTTER. It all sounds so fabulous. I wonder if my witchee would like any of those...hmm hmm. If I am your witchee, the answer is YES. I love stuff like this. A lot! *goes to update Etsy* [A ton of the Fusion Sweets caramels, marshmallows, and cookies sound incredible, too. Any size, samples, whatever, it's all good! ]   Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? I would LOVE poi, the kind good for a beginner. Also a long (12' or so), wide (~1' -- online they keep saying 3", but I know it's much wider than that, much wider than the rhythmic gymnastics ribbons, definitely) "ribbon" (thin satin or medium-weight silk -- because of the aerodynamics) on a stick, the kind used in Chinese ribbon dance, preferably in the color black, possibly a pair.   Also, I like weaponry. I own an enormous double-headed throwing axe (best Valentine's Day present ever), a large machete, a pair of Hibben throwing knives, and several other small knives and daggers. I would adore something like a smaller pair of throwing axes, or more high-quality throwing knives, though nothing along these lines is likely to be in your price range... I've been wanting to start going to a gun range regularly, too. I'm not sure I actually want to own a gun (and I'm definitely never joining the NRA -- I'm all in favor of waiting periods, background checks, limiting the illegal supply, etc, and if they could make full-out gun control work, I'd probably be in favor of it) , but I think they're quite beautiful in a deadly, gorgeously engineered way, and I've decided that it's a smart life skill to have, being able to accurately shoot one.   How are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? I am super picky about purses (I only use one at a time and I have a lot of specifications -- black, exactly the right size, super sturdy, can go really casual or fairly fancy, and is easy to organize), but I like bags in general (tote bags, messenger bags, grocery bags, duffle bags, backpacks, luggage, etc), and a lunchbag could be awesome.   Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? I don't see the update per se on the website (the equivalent of BPAL's "new" page), but if we're talking about the current Black Labels: Mudslide sounds pretty neat, Birth Rite sounds yummy, Trauma sounds intriguing and fabulous, Quick or Dead? sounds interesting, and Smashing and Peachberry Custard sound AMAZING.   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? A sugar skull decorated by my witch, perhaps. Sugar skull stuff in general is not really my style (ahhhhhhhhhh, colors nooooooooooooo), but I do like skeletons and skulls, especially animal skeletons and rock 'n' roll skulls (my undergrad dorm had the motto "Sport Death: Only Life Can Kill You" and banner based on the cover of a Hunter S Thompson novel (it was essentially a skull made of the colors and pattern of the American flag... ah, here: http://web.mit.edu/senior-house/www/images/sportdeath_vector.svg -- it's a bit, er, colorful for me, but super nostalgic!), but I liked them even before that... though they're a bit tricky sometimes because it's easy to make them ugly or too cliche... but sometimes they're fabulous).   SCENT ADDICT IS DOING SOME HAUNT PRE-ORDERS. DO YOU WANT ANY HAUNT?? Oh wow, some of this looks AMAZING.   Top choices: Lavender Spice Tea lip, The Old Cider Mill glossing oil. Most interested: Caramel Apple lip, Lavender Spice Tea lip, Golden Pumpkin sugar polish, Golden Pumpkin glossing oil, The Old Cider Mill glossing oil. Quite interested: Pumpkin Cake lip, Burying Tree sugar polish, Coffee Fiend sugar polish, Winter House perfume, Borgia perfume, Witch-Wife glossing oil. Possibly interested: Laffy Taffy lip, Winchester perfume.   So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? Love is a bit strong (there are other fruit I love more... but that's more because I am crazy about fruit), but I like them a lot as all three. Also, I love their mythological significance.   Now, I have a question for you. About notes. Which are your favourite ones? Do you have a kind of "note top ten?" Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you? ... Surely I have provided enough info along these lines already? If not, please feel free to ask for more, dear Witch, especially if you have a particularly specific/directed question. I just can't think of anything to add offhand.   Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation? Have not become a yarn user in the short time since the last yarn-related question. But in general, I tend to like lightweight yarn.   Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.? ... Possibly? I guess it may depend on the wreath?   Do any witchees need a Snuggie? No, thanks. Unless the material were super, super soft and thin and sturdy and nice. Or it was homemade. The cuddle wrap appeals to me a bit more than the snuggie, for some reason, probably because it sounds a bit more versatile. Mostly I don't get cold, except when I'm really tired, but when I'm tired, I do very much enjoy snuggling down in a blanket, I must admit, especially if my environment is nice and cool. But usually after a little while I kick my feet out into the open air, because I often need quite a bit of air conditioning even in that state.   Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular? Sure! I'm... not sure. Anything it seems like I might like, really!   So I was looking for some patterns for my sisters bday and found these (http://www.bpal.org/topic/70244-halloweenie-switch-witch/page__st__4050__p__1844128#entry1844128). If someone were to make you one, which one? #2! The hood is cute, unusual, and useful. #4 could be interesting and pretty, too, though definitely in a different color.   If you were my witchee, would you mind a gift certificate where you'd have to do it old school style and mail it in with your order form? I wouldn't mind.   Did you forget anything fun/interesting or find something new and exciting? ... Nothing I haven't already mentioned, as far as I can think of offhand. Though it occurs to me as I go to make my Inquisition order, I'd love to try their massage oils -- Ugh is at the top of the list, but also TKO and Aeris. I'm also contemplating The Fainting Couch Atmosphere Spray. (But I'll be waiting until after the round is over before acting on any of these urges...   If there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be None of them are must haves for me.   Restaurant.com is having 90% off with code WOW. Any Witchee's have favorite restaurants that show up on it that they would like a GC from?? Not in particular, but I'm up for trying anything that sounds yummy.   Is anyone interested in Dia de Los Muertos/Halloween-themed Lush products? The Calavera bath bomb looks AMAZING, the Witches' Ball bubble bar looks potentially awesome, Ghost sounds like it could be really lovely.   Would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush? top choices: So White Bath Bomb, Iced Wine Jelly, Bon Bon Lip Scrub, Mandarin's Tea Party Soap. most interested: Angel's Delight Soap, Li'l Lush Pud Bath Bomb, Satsumo Santa Bath Bomb, So White Bath Bomb, Hokkaido Winter Bath, Gingerbread House Bubble Bar, Buche de Noel Cleanser, Iced Wine Jelly, Bon Bon Lip Scrub, Maple Taffy Lip Balm, Mandarin's Tea Party Soap, Snow Globe Soap. quite interested: Cinders Bath Bomb, Sugar Plum Fairy Scrub, Bearded Lady Bubble Bar, Glogg Shower Gel, Snow Fairy Lip Tint, Once a Year Massage Bar. possibly interested: Candy Cane Bubble Bar, Snow Fairy Shower Gel, Christmas Eve Bubble Bar, The Boog.   If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? Hrm. I don't think I know Austin well enough yet. I think my ideal Austin scent would include thunderstorms and lightning and hail. I think my least ideal Austin scent would include a lot of patchouli. Probably the most accurate Austin scent would include both of those, plus hipster cigarettes, barbeque sauce from the aggressively Texan suburbanites, and bluebonnets, the state flower, which grow along the sides of the highway in spring.   La Jolla was salty sand and surfboard wax and sunscreen from the beach bums, cactus flower and torrey pine and ocean breeze from the natural environment, yachts and golf courses and backyard citrus trees from the posh part of town, laced with faint whiff of airplane fuel and machine gun smoke from the military bases.   Stanford was Spicy Maya hot chocolate and espresso and pu-erh tea with condensed milk, steamed custard buns and almond croissants, light brown flagstones in the sun, leather and books, palm fronds and aloe plants and kumquats.   Boston was damp, half-melted, slushy snow, sideways rain on the Charles River, autumn leaves and cobblestone streets and community gardens in spring, high tea and horchata, apple cobbler and creamsicle floats, and the scents of the Copley Square Farmers Market: sunflowers, lavender sachets, rosemary honey, heirloom tomatoes; cider doughnuts and foccacia and fresh-baked sweet potato bread consumed while sitting next to the fountain, dangling your feet in the water.   And the Twin Cities were lilac buds on the first of May, crab apple blossoms and honeysuckle, juicy wild blackberries and Haralson apples picked right off the tree, clear lakes warm in summer and icy-chill in winter, cold dry snow, fresh wet snow, evergreens and birch bark and bonfires.   My childhood was those background scents, plus the addition of five-spice, ginger, black tea, oolong tea, jasmine tea, Botan rice candy, black sesame candy, rose pastilles, apple juice, grape juice, orange juice, oranges, red bean soup, blueberry muffins, a fortune cookie, rosewood furniture, a Chinese dictionary, Chinese calligraphy paper and ink, osmanthus, mangoes, hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows, and a delicate openwork sandalwood fan.   My teenaged years were those background scents, plus American Spirit cigarette smoke twined with clean boy musk seeped into black leather jacket, lemongrass, clove cigarettes, french fries dipped in chocolate shake, green park grass and rocky waterfalls, and an apple-cinnamon muffin and pot of hot coffee from Perkins.

If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular?   Sure, if they're something you think I would like!   would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush?   Sure, I love LUSH stuff! But I have one close by, so if it's hard for you to get then don't bother.   Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be?   I haven't looked. I'm trying to avoid falling in love with very limited editions.   If someone were to make you one of the items in this post which would it be?   #3   If you were my witchee, would you mind a gift certificate where you'd have to do it old school style and mail it in with your order form?   Nope, fine by me.   10/4/10 Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation?   Definitely sock, as that's what I knit most of. Worsted is good in blues and purples for my ongoing fabulous blanket project. Handspun is great on that one too!   Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.?   No, I don't really have any place to put a wreath.   Do any witchees need a Snuggie?   No thanks!

Ok, this is going to be huge. Eep! Just because there is a LOT I still need to sniff. I'm kind of still a newbie even though I got on the forum two years ago, because I started trying to get involved and start collecting and then wasn't able to buy anything for a LONG time. Doomblog Part II!

Just in case it helps . . .     10/5/10 Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular? That could be interesting and fun! No idea, though. would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush? I've tried snowcake samples and am not crazy about it. Not crazy about Bubble Gum flavored lip tint either, but the rest sounds like fun. I love Lush body powder and Noubar soap, too! Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be? Probably Mount Misery--chestnuts, you say?--or Lady (mmm, sweetgrass!). Steeplechase sounds like a fun atmospheric, too. If you were my witchee, would you mind a gift certificate where you'd have to do it old school style and mail it in with your order form? No, that'd be fine!   10/4/10 Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.? I really like these! My parents used to make gorgeous grapevine wreaths . . . Until the grapevine died. Do any witchees need a Snuggie? No, I'm good.   10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? Love the fruit, love the Burt's Bees lip balm flavor, really enjoyed Bath & Bodyworks Midnight Pomegranate, although I'm set for lotions/creams in that scent. I'm curious about the Pomegranate Patch set, but not enough to buy them; in the past, I haven't gotten BPAL's pom scent to last very long on me. Haunt Update? I thought they closed?! I really liked their Candy Corn lip lust!   9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? My boyfriend is crazy about their soaps. I'm curious about Cobwebs and Smashing. how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? I like them! My favorites are plum, lily, ivy, pumpkin, vanilla, some leathers, some sugars (like Dorian, for example). I really, really want something that smells like old books--something papery--but I haven't found one that doesn't bury the paper/pages smell under some other scent, such as lavender or leather. Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? Absolutely! I think they're awesome!   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Antique Lace always, always smells good; I can wear it around people who don't care for BPAL, and I can even wear it to church, weddings, etc. Blue Moon is the fragrance I wear when I'm super stressed/upset and need to calm down and go to sleep. Probably the most "security blanket" fragrance I have is actually a Mara Fox Love Potion Perfume: Raven Moon, 2006 vintage. It's just instant calm and happiness. I'd love to have more of this, but it's hard to find these days, in part because bottle/cap issues resulted in spillage. Needless to say, I am not concerned about an ugly/half-empty Raven Moon bottle. I'll take 2006 Raven Moon any way I can get it. What are you going to be for Halloween? Not sure yet. Thought about Daria from MTV, but I don't have the skirt. My boyfriend wants to go as Macbeth/Lady Macbeth. I'm thinking more of Lizzie Borden.   9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? Blackberries, green grass, woods, lots of ivy. Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? I'm almost out of roller bottles, and I'd really like some new wand caps. I'm also completely out of sample vials.   9/24/10 Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? No idea! Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? Sure! Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? I don't follow NA much, but their old "Pharoah's Revenge" scent is one of my favorite of all time. Never tried Vampire Apothecary. Venomous Villains? *goes to Google* Whoa, these exist?? How cool is that? Last Unicorn? Possibly my favorite book. Can still quote passages. Not as crazy about the movie--Mia Farrow, arrgh--but I loved it when I was a kid. Who is your fav Disney Villian/villianess? How about hero/herione? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though) Villain? Maleficent all the way. Hero/heroine? A bit harder, there . . . Probably Belle and the Beast.   9/23/10 Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? What's your favorite Halloween Music? I like the collection Rob Zombie put together (Halloween Hootenanny). The Ramones have GREAT Halloween songs (Texas Chainsaw Massacree!). I also love the retro stuff, including a collection I found on iTunes of really, really old songs from the 30s, such as "Skeleton in the Closet" and "Tain't No Sin To Take Off Your Skin (and Dance Around in Your Bones").   9/22/10 Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? No, sorry. Just never had the time to do that. Is there anything from Blooddrop that you want to try? GC? Halloween update? I haven't tried much Blooddrop. I'd be interested in 8:30 a.m., Apples & Bones, Casting a Spell, Exorcism, Hearing Voices, Incantation, Jill-o-Lantern, Raising the Dead, Sinister. From the GC list, I'm curious about Broomstick, Pumpkin, White Pumpkin. I've never tried any of their products except the oils. What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? I adore shoes. I don't mind gently-used, either--just bought a pair of black leather cowboy boots from the Goodwill! I'm crazy about sandals, especially old-fashioned Aigner leather thong sandals, and Chuck Taylors. I have Chucks in blue, red, Christmas plaid with bells, and Candy-cane striped. I can always use laces for these, and I'd love a pair suitable for Halloween. (I usually wear 5.5-6 for Chucks, and size 8 for most everything else.) I don't generally like high and pointy high heels, but the more-platform style are fine; I just need something a little more substantial to keep my balance. I've been looking for a cool Edwardian-style of shoes or even granny boots for a costume. Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? I used to unwind with coloring books when I was in college (don't laugh!) but these days just don't have the time. I like coloring with my nephews, however. I still love my colored pencil and oil pastel sets. Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags? Sure! What song is on heavy rotation for you right now? My "Halloween Hootenanny" CD. Are you coveting any of the NYCC atmospheric sprays? They sound cool, but I generally think the sprays are a bit pricey for me. If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW. My carousel horse photographs, handmade jewelry and costume pieces, mix CDs of new music, fragrances that I had never tried (or thought impossible to get), toys for my poodle, my Victorian Wonder Woman action figure!   9/21/10 Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? Sounds like fun! Not sure about the chocolate, but the cheese and such would be fun. Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? I love vampires, revenants, and occasionally zombie stories, although zombies are more of my boyfriend's thing. We already have All Flesh Must Be Eaten, almost every zombie movie ever made, and the Zombie Survival Handbook. Not crazy about Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. You know how every zombie movie seems to have a zombie in a wedding dress? Wedding zombie is my favorite!   9/20/10 If you happened to be my Witchee, is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update? I'd love to try all of it! I don't actually need much soap right now, but I'd like to try the new scents, particularly the Skeleton Key oil. I do have the older oils I need, including Straitjacket, but the new Halloween/late summer stuff looks really good. How many bottles of BPAL do you have? I have a box of "current rotation" oils, a box of "out of season" and backup oils, and a tiny box of TALs. I also have a swapbox, but as those are on their way out the door, they don't count, right? I also keep a collection of empty bottles, especially the literary ones--my Poe stories is almost complete! Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? I used to do tai chi, something I'd like to go back and learn more about eventually. My exercise routine is usually more vigorous and pedestrian: elliptical, weight machines, go home. I love listening to my iPod while I work out, however, and reading magazines. Funny towels or water bottles are always welcome. Anyone else into Emily Autumn? No, but she's been recommended to me. Feel free to fix my ignorance! What's on your walls? Please show us up to three paintings/posters/whatever. A series of old-fashioned carousel photographs, a Wonder Woman poster, a Dore engraving from "The Raven." If you love a painting so much that you would steal (to watch it with your greedy eyes) one, please share. Raphael's St. George and the Dragon. It's like a perfect, brilliant little jewel. do you like Girl Scout cookies? What kind? Thin Mints! What's your take on homemade apple butter? Want some? Love it. Very homey. Probably don't need it--trying to avoid the sugar/bread business.

SW Q&A October 4th and 5th

10/4/10 Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation? I like yarn. I don't think I am specialized or talented enought to prefer a weight?   Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.? GRAVEVINE! Woo! Sorry, that is the coolest typ-o ever. I like wreaths. They are great, and I hang them up, and everyone is happy, because that is possibly the most ease of decorating thing there is. It's like; here is an entire seasonal display, in one item that you just have to find a hook to hang on. *ta- DAAA*. And everything is festive.     Do any witchees need a Snuggie? No. Oh please, no.   10/5/10 Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular? Yes, international magazines would be awesome. Anything with plants or fashion-- travel, possibly baking. I like magazines in a non Roman script; they just look interesting. It's like the words are beautiful pictures I can't quite figure out.   Would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush? Oh dear. I haven't even looked. *sigh* Alright, I checked. I am safe! It started with a Kiss and Snow fairy lip tints look nice. But for the holiday stuff, sadly, I have no bath, and the shower gels that sound wonderful will likely do nasty things to my flesh. Boo...   Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be? I'm good, but thank you for asking.   If someone were to make you one of the items in this post which would it be? I like #1(the bow tie red one), or #4(the chartreuse wrap with button).   If you were my witchee, would you mind a gift certificate where you'd have to do it old school style and mail it in with your order form? That's no problem at all.

Good Judy: Key Lime Pie

Key Lime Pie Category: Mary Jo's Bakery Quantity: sample   Description: KEY LIME PIE A southern Florida treat loved by all. Fresh, tart key limes blended with sugar, egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk, all poured into a lightly baked graham cracker crust. This one will make your teeth ache!   Review:   In the bottle: An intense smell of sugary graham crust.   Wet: Sugar, cream (or milk), egg, and graham. The lime is very subtle.   Dry: Overall, it doesn’t have much throw, and the lime note quickly fades away.   Verdict: It’s sweet and creamy, but not for me. Another one in the “future soap” box...

SW: Si tu quieres salsa

Okays.   Hey Witch, I was looking at the return address more closely on the package and if you are my witch, I used to live not that far from you, or where you work maybe. I lived in SW 10th, up by OHSU. Small world, eh? And I used to work on NW 5th. Crazy!   More ketchup:   NYCC: I can't really think of any of them standing out. I like the names of a lot of them but I think flowers ruined everything for me. Elephantine Collosus sounded cool, except I'm strangely worried about the rootbeer.   Scarves: I like the 3rd one that Femme-Fatale posted, though the idea of something I can pull over my head is great so a cross btwn 2 and 3? I think I didnt pick 2 because of the color and the way it kind of...wiggles around that girl's face. I also like four, but I hate the color. I love the button detail. I just done like the first one, I guess. Wow, that was probably super unhelpful and uneccesary, HA!   I hope you are having a GREAT WEEK!   <3

Switch Witch Ketchup #5

Sorry dear Witch, but I got eaten by the ZOMG SW thread is overwhelming monster. BUT I did manage to dive in today and grab these questions from the great Lioness.   I hope all is well with you wherever you may be!   10/4/10 Do you have a preferred weight of yarn to work in? Lace, sock, worsted, bulky, handspun with variation? Don't sent me yarn, the cat might like it, but that's it. Anyone like little seasonal decorative wreaths? Like gravevine wreaths embellished with silk flora, etc.? Sure! I'd hang it up at work. Do any witchees need a Snuggie? We have several Snuggies, but they don't get used that often, so no thank you.   10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? When I was little we used to have a Pom tree in our yard.. eating them is fun, but a bit of a pain. They are yummy in juice and not so yummy on me. I've tried the 5 Weenie Pom scents and only one was a win and it wasn't the one I expected! I love Pom V, but I guess my love of amber redeems everything and the pepper actually behaved and didn't amp to high stinky heaven. Haunt Update? No thank you, I tried a few decants of their perfume and really was not amazed... everything just smelled like potpourri and really did not work with my chemistry.     9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? Cobwebs sounds intriguing but I don't know if it would actually smell good? Curious but I don't think it's worth wasting money on.. I'd rather pick up some other tried and true favs.. hehe. how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? Hmmm I'm pretty picky about my purses, so please no. Lunch bags or that type of thing is welcome though. I love having a selection. Oh boy, hard question. Now I have to think! Though I also think I provide this info in various places. I tend to land with alot of the heavier type of scents. Incensey, musky. So far even the lighter scents I like end up having "weight". Like Green Tree Viper and Daiyu, they are lighter scents but in the end - they end up with a warm vanilla note. (doesn't smell like pastry cream that they stuff long johns with, but with that sort of scent heaviness to it. I think this is why I hate describing scents.. I have an odd vocabulary) Anyhoo I am trying to find some lighter sparkling types. But if that never happens, I'm happy with the fun ones I have now Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? No thank you, I do think they are amazing and very beautiful, you never see things like that in Hawaii.. but it is very humid here and we have lots of bugs. I think the ants would find a way to carry it off!   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Not really, though I will go into the shower and use my peppermint soap to just breathe in and feel tingly and fresh and hopefully dissolve all the tension. What are you going to be for Halloween? I have no idea. Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? I don't think so?   9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? Nopers, this sounds soo negative, but I really can't imagine real scents getting captured in a bottle. I know sometimes that it does happen. And most times it's just nature, and I don't want to smell like it, I just enjoy it when I notice it. Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? Nopers, I do decant circles and can easily order this type of thing.   9/24/10 Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? A cat Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? Ummm none of the mentioned things, but if there's something foody like Jam, bread, cookies, YES PLEASE? Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? No thanks. There are so many etailers! Good grief! Venomous Villains? I got the pretties I wanted. Last Unicorn? I'm kinda meh, I gotta a read the story, and see the notes. I'm actually more interested in the RPG line. Who is your fav Disney Villian/villianess? How about hero/herione? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though) Favorite Villain is Maleficent. Favorite disney char.. it's not a hero or a heroine... it's the fairies in Cinderella.. I love how they argued and I dunno, they are just soooo dang cute!!!   9/23/10 Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? Not really, I would just lose it I know that just sounds sooo horrid, but I know me.. I would misplace it by accident. What's your favorite Halloween Music? Silly stuff.. Monster Mash! Thriller.   9/22/10 Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? No I don't, I used to visit deviantart, but they had so much stuff it became overwhelming. Is there anything from Blooddrop that you want to try? GC? Halloween update? No thank you. What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? Hmm I don't need want any, my feet are picky and I wouldn't like used ones. Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? Not really Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags? No, I tend to gravitate toward elegant, clean lines. What song is on heavy rotation for you right now? Wow, weird.. I just realized I haven't been really listening to music lately. Are you coveting any of the NYCC atmospheric sprays? Nopers If you could get any one thing hand-painted from your witch, what would it be and what would be on it? Art is so subjective that I have a really hard time pinning it down... like perfume. Most times I just react. Which is so not helpful to my Witch >.< Sorry! Just surprise me, I know that I would love anything just because! Would you (assumin' you're a yarnie) be interested in a naturally-dyed yarn that's designed to very gradually fade with washing? I'm not a yarnie! Wheee easy question to answer. If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW. Not SW (this is my first time) - I think one of the neatest things I ever received was a magazine that a friend cut & pasted into.. and subbed pics of our group of friends into. It was so different and obviously well thought out.. (p.s. Witch, the imps you sent would fall into this category!)   9/21/10 Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? Umm you can talk to me about it?? They are alright, I read and watch stuff with them in them. I'm not particularly obsessed with them... I do love early Anita Blake stuff where she raised them and such, in fact I wish they would go back in that direction... BLAH!! lol!

More condiments!

10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? I like them as a scent, flavoring, and fruit. I wouldn't say I "love" them, though.   Haunt Update? I like the sound of Winter House, and the candy corn lip balm. And the pumpkin scrub. And pretty much anything else!!!   9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? Oh yes!!! Smashing sounds, well, smashing!   how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? I could use a little shoulder purse in a neutral color. I think I have answered this before. I love vanilla, tobacco, incense, resins, carnations, some rose, honey, most musks, woods, oak, hay, bread/cake, cream/milk, fir, spices. I don't like aquatics, metals, ozones. I enjoy most fruits and some booze, and like complex florals if they are also creamy and/or spicy.     Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? Not sure!   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Mmm... Snake Oil     What are you going to be for Halloween? Not sure! Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? I enjoy making beer and other fermented beverages, and really enjoy making them from plants or weeds. I would love a book of recipes for thinks like, say, dandelion and burdock beer.   9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? Need to come back to this one.   Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? I don't think so.   9/24/10 Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? Not sure what these are!   Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? Probably not? Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? Venomous Villains? Last Unicorn? Who is your fav Disney Villian/villianess? How about hero/herione? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though)   9/23/10 Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? What's your favorite Halloween Music?   9/22/10

Mas de SW

Hello, Witch! I hope you are having a good weekend!   More ketchup for you, in case you want it. I haven't had all my coffee yet so bear bad spelling, grammatical errors and downright wrongness.   Pomegranates: I love to eat pomegranates. I havent had one in a while. Pomegranate flavored stuff is okay, though I prefer the real thing. I love pomegranate juice.   Notes top ten! In no particular order:   1. Chocolate/cocoa (especially) 2. Leather (especially) 3. Patchouli 4. Red Musk 5. Um.....Vetiver! 6. Pine or Birch (but not 'wood.') 7. Cognac? 8. Incense but in moderation 9. Salt?? Spices? 10. ??? Beer? Wine?     Maybe this would help. Favorite scents are Ghoul Hooligan, Crowley, Tintagel, Miller v. Cali, Lawn Gnome, Thanatopsis, Tezcatlipoca. Tezcatlipoca was my first BPAL love. The kind of scent I like is altered foody. Food with something else in it to make it not foody. I'm wearing Calaveras right now and it's nice. If it's too foody, it is usually boring to me (I'm looking at you, Mother Shub's Spiced Lait de Chevre). I like War too. Thanatopsis is an example of a not foody scent that I like. I'm pretty unforgiving with my bottles. If I don't love it and/or it lacks throw and longevity, I generally rehome it. Things that I have rehomed include Raven Moon, Mountain of Bone, Giant Squid, Lead Phoenix, Fledgling Raptor Moon, Tombstone, Antique Lace, Manhattan, Juke Joint, Mr. Ibis, Buggre All This Bible, Green Tree Viper, etc. I hated Shub Niwhatever because I tend to amp incense so it goes from love to me turning into a walking temple and then people start bowing down and sacrificing animals to be and there's blood and well. You get the idea. Cthulhu in Love is great until the incense becomes the main note and then isn't interesting.   Nocturne Alchemy is my other perfume love and so it bears to mention I love their: honey, kyphi, vanilla, lavender, lotus, sand (yes, this is a note for them, heh), Egyptian Musk, Sapphire, Nokturne2, Sapphire, Cream, Carnation, Coconut, Spices, etc. I can actually wear their florals without dying. My faves of theirs are Eternal Ankh, Blue Egypt, Hathor, Diety Moon: Bastet...Eternal Egypt...I have a lot of theirs still to test, I have notes somewhere. Gah.   I should also add, as a Cancer, I am always on the search for the perfect Moon oil and water oil. I've tried quite a few moons out, BPAL wise and haven't been overly impressed with any of them. I have NA's Diety Moon Bastet and I really like it but it's not my holy grail Moon oil. even with my love for Bast. I missed out on Diety Moon Hathor and kick myself daily for not getting it. I HATE ozone because it turns to Irish Spring on me and it tends to be in a lot of water perfumes.   I will also mention, things that make me squee and make me want it (I mentioned this before): Conan, Lovecraft, Sky Doll (not that this matters, I think I'm the only person who knows what the hell it is), Ancient Egypt especially Bast, Hathor and Thoth, Hermes, mystical Christianity/Christian mythology/symbols, Phillip K Dick (Electric Sheep smell? Anyone? Bueller?), forest, DnD/RPG stuff and ELVES. ELVES ELVES ELVES.   This turned out to be A LOT longer than I had anticipated and I am insanely sorry for being so freaking LONG WINDED. Oi. But hey, I'm a BPALer. Get me talking about perfumes and all bets are off, right   Edit: ___dammit, I did perfume testing today and got a bunch of winners. In addition to Calaveras, Infernal Lover was pretty good, VA Nikolav and NA Ra's Coco Lotus are are killer. DAMMIT. I haven't had this much luck in ever.   I hope your weekend is going well, witch! **hugs**

SW Questions 9/26 through 10/1/10

10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent?   Yes, all the above. I don't have a *huge* love for them, but I do like them quite.   Haunt Update?   I know nothing about Haunt.   9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it?   I already used my witch's GC to order from Villainess, but that's ok, I think I shall try the ones I have before getting more.   how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc?   I would love a lunch bag! I'm trying to bring my lunch more regularly to save money and eat healthy, and currently it's just in a drawstring ripstop nylon knitting bag. A "real" lunch bag would be fun. Some of my favorites are neroli / mimosa / orange blossom, other fruity notes, almond, spicy notes, etc. I don't really have a top 10, I just noticed that many of the things I like have those notes. Tea is good too, I love Dorian! In terms of categories, I generally flavor foody and fruity - definitely not floral or aquatic or woody. Some musk is ok (like Snake Oil) but I like it sweet.   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general?   Sure! I have some sugar skull shoes that are pretty cute, but not very seasonally appropriate so I wear them mostly during the summer.   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivalent of a security blankie?   No, not really. I do like Zarita, but that's more for association reasons.   What are you going to be for Halloween?   I don't know, now I'm getting stressed!   Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD?   No, not really.

Questions galore!

10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? Nom, nom, and nom!   Haunt Update? I grabbed everything I wanted, woo! Well, only one lip lust, but since they are hard to get, I'm finding replacements, hehe.   9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? I was tempted to get a mudslide smooch, but nothing else called to me, so I decided to save money for Haunt goodies!   how are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? I'm good, but I never refuse! My favorite notes are foody ones - vanilla, cake, etc. and fruit - lemon, orange, berries, etc. I can handle musk in small amounts, same with spice notes. Light floral notes are okay as well, and I'm often drawn to aquatic scents but they rarely work out!   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? If my witch wants to make me anything, I would appreciate it. I'm not really into sugar skull stuff so something new could be fun!   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Cake Smash or Boo probably.   What are you going to be for Halloween? A hermit in my apartment! Hah!   Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? Hmm, I don't think so.

SW Q&A Sept.25-October 1st!

9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients?   Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? I don't think I *need* any, but sure?   9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? I used to wear Akuma all the time. but I think I overused it at work, and began associating it with aromatherapy stress relief. So now, we are taking a break(Kumiho is subbing for him). If I really need help sleeping, I will use Absinthe. It reminds me of the anise milk I used to get when I was little. My scent for putting on and just instantly feeling happy and good, and comfortable is Makhanitis. It's just that awesome. But, I have all of these, so please don't feel you need to get me any of them.   What are you going to be for Halloween? It was between a tightrope walker(if you've ever seen the painting at Disneyland's Haunted House of the girl over the crocodile pit with her parasol?) or the same botanist character I am gearing up to be at the Steampunk Exhibition next year. But now, it is looking more like gypsy fortune teller/dancer-- which I was last year. It is both fun and comfortable.   Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? I don't think so?   9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? Maybe Cobwebs? But more Trauma and Peachberry from the last one.   How are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? I currently have an awesome purse. I also have a tendency to use my purses until they end, and I would feel bad doing that to a gift. I don't really use lunchbags. I do use totes, cooler bags for shopping/picnics, and I love the reusable shopping bags that fold down in to a tiny square so I can always have one with me in my purse. I have a link in my sig to all the notes I know work or not on me. My favorite note include: anise, bergamot, champaca, currant, linden, mimosa, mint, musk, neroli/orange blossom, plum, ,(burgundy)wine, strawberry, and just citrus in general. I like fruit, candy, incense, spices, and happy flowers in general. oh-- and tonka and tobacco have been love recently. I have no idea what scent family I'm most in. I can't think of any notes I haven't tried that I'd like to, but I'll try anything once.   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? Sure!   10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are they good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? It's me! Yes, to all of the above.   Haunt Update? Sure, but don't go out of your way. Winter House, Borgia, and Witch-wife sound good.

Good Judy: Smooth & Neat

Smooth & Neat Category: Resinate Quantity: sample   Description: SMOOTH & NEAT The aromatic flavoring of a fine liqueur, extremely sensual and smooth with a wonderful warming finish. Served neat. Patchouli leaves, bright orange citrus, smooth vanilla, and a splash of hazelnut liqueur.   Review:   In the bottle: Patchouli, orange and hazelnut liqueur.   Wet: Warm orange and sweet vanilla, for the most part; everything else is in the background.   Dry: The patchouli and liqueur come back, but it’s still smooth. It’s not the aggressive patchouli some old ladies are so fond of…   Verdict: It’s well balanced, smooth and clean, with a sweet dose of vanilla and orange. However, patchouli smells old on me, so the sample will probably become lovely soap material.

Bruja de cambia: Gracias para el regalo!

En espanol! Just kidding!   Witch O'Mine, I wanted to say thank you for the wonderful package. It was very sweet. I have been kind of missing Portland a little bit so wonderful tea from there made me happy. I wore the earrings to work! And my daughter loved the stickers! I hope you saw the comments she made in the IGI thread. She put the owl stickers all over herself, heh. Portents to come. A tattooed baby. And the chocolate was very yummy I needed a sweet fix yesterday night and the xocolatl was good! Sweet enough to satisfy me but spicy enough to keep me from eating the whole thing!   You are very sweet and good at making cards too And packaging   Here is more ketchup for you:   Sugar Skull: Now that I know I'm not supposed to eat it, I am open to it. However, I live in the South. I dont know how that would affect said sugar skull. But I don't do a day of the dead thing. Like most Americans, I don't think about dead people in my family, just numbers in the news and what not.   Lentils: I like lentils, especially french lentils. I make lentil soup a lot in the winter months. My daughter loves any kind of soup and my spouse loves lentils. I make a pretty mean lentil soup. A bit of white wine and thyme goes a long way.   Purses: I have two purses. A utilitarian bag with lots of space/pockets for a mom and a black 'leather' purse for when I don't need to schlep stuff. I pretty much always need to schlep stuff though, hehe. And my bags ALWAYS need handles! I cannot do a clutch! I would lose it.   Haunt Update: I haven't looked at it :/ Tengo miedo para me cartera.   I like beets. I make beet salsa! If you cut beets up into little cubes, spread them out on a baking sheet after sprinkling on a bit of olive oil and salt, roast them at 400 degrees till they're done (I know, real descriptive...keep an eye on them after 20 mins?), then put in a bowl with chopped red onion, cilantro, garlic, lime juice and a splash of red vinegar, let it chill in the fridge for a bit and you will have yummy salsa ready for fish tacos! It's yummy!   Okies, that is all! I LOVE YOU, WITCH!
