SW Spring 2011 Questions!

Thank you for the card my dear Witch, my rather gloomy day has been brightened!   Sorry for not getting you my questions sooner dear Witch. Here they are   Here are the answers to questions asked in the Switch Witch Thread!   Baked Goods? Re: baked goods. I Looove them but I'm vegan for lent so depending on when they come, they would have to be vegan and soy free (allergies crrry). I do love all things cooked and related to cooking though!   Recipes? I adore recipes. I collect cook books and websites and blogs and love them all. I think it would be SO COOL to have like a handwritten recipe collection from someone, like their favorite recipes or family recipes or something. I’ve always wanted one from my family, but alas . Either way, anything cooking is definitely a home run for me.   If you were to make an order RIGHT NOW. What would you order? Hm, well, I’ve found the Lupers this year are actually all huge fail on me  So from the lab… uh, well I need another bottle of Miskatonic University… I spilled mine  otherwise I kind of lust after Sachs, so I’d definitely consider that as well. From the Trading Post, I’m dying to try Celeste perfume and bath salts, Kitty Perfume (french vanilla is huge win on me!), and Virginia Bath salts. I’ve never tried anything from the trading post, so I’d love to experience something fun.   What level of nudity are you fine with on items? Pretty flexible on this. I prefer “tasteful” to, you know, distasteful.   Would you like other kinds of gently used items that may have come from a garage sale? I love yard/garage sales, so I’m perfectly fine with them. I am however super paranoid about bedbugs (specifically D:!) so just make sure it is on the level that-a-way Also, I must say I prefer USEFUL things. I am not a “knick-knacks” person. I would love a box, a pretty piece of clothing, a small piece of art, etc.   Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounce sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out? I LOVE cooking seasonings. I have most of the basics, but I’d love to try some exotic or unusual spices or spice blends. I lust heartily after a lot of the fun things on the Arthur flour website http://www.kingarthu...et-ingredients/ as well as various sites that offer special rubs, seasoning blends, etc.   Do you like any particular kinds of green or black teas or coffees that could also be gotten in bulk? I cannot drink caffeinated beverage (ACK I SHOULD HAVE PUT THIS IN THE QUESTIONNAIRE. So sorry Witch!!!) so I drink lots of herbal teas. No green tea, black tea or coffee for me.   Favorite snack foods (and can they be from bulk section as well?) Snacks? Hmmm. I love white cheddar popcorn. I have no idea about bulk ‘n’ stuff though. I love to snack on almost anything  Also, gummy things, like fruit slices, all things chocolate, chocolate covered macadamia nuts are a favorite of mine. I LOVE Jelly beans – jellybelly and starburst jelly beans are my favs, Ritersport is muh favorite chocolate, then Ferrero Rochet.   For my Witchee! Would you rather have HUGE list of things to try (as in my repressed imp orders) or just a highlight list? Huge list please. Maybe I’ll have something on it that you’ll love!   Mix CDs? I don’t mind mix CDs, but I don’t love them either. I rarely listen to CDs in general.   How do folks feel about little e-goodies? (articles online, pix, fic, etc) This seems really neat. If my Witch is making it, it is an A++++. My favorite thing is if someone cares enough to spend some time regarding me. I definitely receive “love” through time .   Tim Tams? Yes or no? Chocolate Creme, Caramel, or Dark Chocolate? Anything but Dark Chocolate. I can’t eat it until after Lent, but I think it’ll keep!   Is there any "classic" literature (Hemingway, Dickens, Elliot, Bronte, Hugo, Wilde, etc.) that you would like to add to your collection? I already have most of the classics, so not really.   So how does everyone feel about receiving ebooks? I don’t have a reader right now, but I’m not super opposed. Audiobooks (e-audiobooks) would be super cool… but they are really expensive    candles and/or aroma melts: yay or nay? I can’t have open flame in my apartment, so Nay.   Get your music player, what are the first 13 songs on Random?   Will do this when I can!   Do you need another bpal box? If so what would your fantasy one look like? I am running out of room for bottles and imps. I would love one with nature scenes, like a forest. My “happy” place is a forest with a stream running through it. Maybe with some flowers on the bank of the stream. I love gardening, but as I am in an apartment, I do not right now. I would love to grow fresh herbs, some veggies and maybe a flower or two. I wish I had indoor stuff to do that with… I used to be quite the little herbalist.   Favorite artists or specific paintings? Oh my. I’ll have to come back to this two. I don’t have any favorite artists/paintings, but I do like specific styles, and I’m kind of picky about it.   Booze? Yay or Nay? what kinds? I like rums, cordials and flavored nummies. Also, I love wine. I am not a connoisseur but do like many types.   Steampunk inspired items? Yay or nay? Steampunk is super cool, I can definitely appreciate how it looks!   Pirates vs Ninjas vs Zombies - who wins? Which do you love most? Zombies. Zombies. And more Zombies. I love zombies. I usually dress up as a zombie for halloween, and I will probably be participating in “run for your lives” a 5k running from zombies! Then maybe Pirates. Probably not ninjas. Except maybe Askaninja.   Do you like those little crocheted amurigami? If so, who needs to be emulated as one? I loooove these things. Sooo cute. I like animals a lot  but if it had to be a person/thing I’d love my wow character (a belf, I could provide screenies if this was possible, or my goblin and my fiance’s undead or goblin. I doubt it is even possible though. But it’d be so cool!)   Do you like wearing things in your hair? If so, what kind (snap clips, scrunchie, headband, etc), how big & crazy (lowkey, bigger the better), and colors. I can’t wear traditional headbands or clips as pulling my hair tight gives me tension headaches. I do love loose/cloth headbands in subtle colors, but I could use a little flavor in my life I guess. Little little clippies are nice too. But not my fav.   Piercings? - ears?? - elsewhere? I have my ears pierced, once. And as long as the earrings have no nickle, I like studs/posts or french hooks maybe.   Chocolate. With stuff in it? Are you more a plain chocolate lover, a chocolate and normal items lover (normal items being nuts, fruit, caramel) or do you like weird stuff in your chocolate? (weird stuff being curry, chilis, balsamic vinegar, floraly things) I love hazelnuts and almonds in my chocolate. I do not like fruit in it. I would like to try some “weird stuff”. I love caramel, Ommmg. I prefer milk or white chocolate, and rather dislike dark.   Minion Things I would want... I don’t know who does what, but I have seen tons of little things people here have made and they are amazing! Having something that someone made just for me would make my little heart explode! I like all the minion things I’ve seen so far, But I am really fond of Carwoman’s stuff, and maybe Catseyes stuff… if it is nickle free?   Minion Alert! On that note, I am currently making vegan cooking, and if anyone wants it, I’d be happy to trade/oblige for free. I bake and might even do some vegan candy if I can muster it up. I make some AWESOME vegan chocolate cupcakes.   For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? I prefer more sheer. I love lipgloss/balm a LOT. I love when it smells nummy and feels silky and good. I like subtle colors, or colorless. It must be NON STICKY. Makes me crazy.   What's your favorite animal? Or is there one that's particularly significant to you? My favorite animal is the north american panther/ cougar or the ocelot or lynx. I’ve always identified with it. I like all cats, big and little. I love parrots! All things fuzzy and cute have a place for me. I also like snakes.   If you were able to get a vintage or prototype bottle from the upcoming West Coast Will Call, which one would you want? Oh my! Anything foodie would be really nice. Other than that, I couldn’t say. Maybe Cake Smash as a pot dream… Paladin would be cool since I have one in WoW Elf? Or did that sell out. I’d love elf.

A dollop of ketchup...     Do you like those little crocheted dolls? You know the ones! They have a Japanese name! GAH! If so, who needs to be emulated as one? Yes, though I don't have any. I'd like animals (crows, rats, cats, mice, bunnies or chinchillas) or something related to Doctor Who (cause come on, a Dalek...would that not rock?)   Do you like wearing things in your hair? Generally speaking I don't, though my hair is long enough that I could. Flower and feather clips would be awesome for belly dancing though!     Chocolate. With stuff in it? Are you more a plain chocolate lover, a chocolate and normal items lover (normal items being nuts, fruit, caramel) or do you like weird stuff in your chocolate? (weird stuff being curry, chilis, balsamic vinegar, floraly things) Chocolate is awesome. Chocolate with stuff is awesome. Chocolate with nuts and caramel is double awesome. I like chocolate with chilis, I haven't tried it with like bacon (which I'd like to) and I haven't tried it with the other stuff mentioned, but I'd love to!   For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? I like a creamy lipstick in warm colours (I'm a pasty redhead with a neutral skin tone), lipgloss I like some opacity and just a bit of shine, and tinted balms are awesome. OH and I like them to not taste crappy.   What's your favorite animal? Or is there one that's particularly significant to you? Crows I think are my most significant animal, I love them. Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types? I probably don't need huge amounts of candy. I do like the Cadbury mini-eggs (the all-chocolate ones, not the ones filled with stuff.)   What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd? All dcs make me sad, that I'll never be able to pick up another imp sometime. Silk Road was in the keep-an-imp, don't need a bottle category, but it sucks to know that it's the latest to have fallen victim to DC issues. Most of my top ten that are GC, I've picked up backups of.   Violette Market Update is up. Do you covet anything from it? Nope! (I'm also not gonna look.)   Wine? I like wine! Reds are preferred. And while I theoretically like dessert wines, the massive backlog of them in my closet tells me that I never actually drink them. Wine is a with-dinner thing in my household.   Paper goods, anyone need? including resume paper, and formal stationery as well as casual cards. I'm all set at the moment, though I do love notecards, so... I wouldn't turn them away.   What is a scent that you've been trying to find even a sample of for a very long time to no avail? (What bottle would you die to get your hands on - even a partial?) Hm. That's a good question. I haven't been *actively* trying to find them, but of LEs/unimpables, the things I'm most intrigued about trying lately (so even half-decants would work) are Banshee Beat, Les Anges Dechus, and possibly Sybil.   Is there anything in your life that you'd like advice or a "selfhelp" book for?: (ie finances, eating healthier, meal planning) I'd mostly like to actually follow the advice I already know to be helpful.   If your Witch lived near you, would you be happy or creeped out to get a "coupon" for a service like cleaning help or babysitting or dogwalking or coffee out with your Witch or something like that? Would you be creeped out if a local minion personally delivered a package to your house from a far-away Witch? No, I think it would be AWESOME! But I'd rather get a phonecall first than a person on my doorstep, is that okay? I mean, I'd want to welcome someone in, and to do that I'd need a bit of straighten-the-house notice.   Let's say I have a pair of something you collect, would you like one of them and we have matching things? I especially would love to try whatever multiple different kinds of Jamaican Jerk / blackjack jerk seasoning that you might be able to scrounge up from your area. Switch Witch Treasure Round! Spring 2011

March 21   What three things are you craving right now?   paper goods, anyone need? including resume paper, and formal stationery as well as casual cards. I think I'm probably good on these right now. I do like sending notecards, though - I usually include a note in my swaps thanking the person. What is a scent that you've been trying to find even a sample of for a very long time to no avail? (What bottle would you die to get your hands on - even a partial?) Hmmm.... I don't want to even try some of the so rares, I would fall in love, be scared to wear it because it would run out, and then it would be gone and I would be sad. That said. STORYVILLE. I have sniffed, and it is ah-maze-ing. I think this would be very very cool.   March 18   Do you like poetry? Yes, but it's more hit or miss with me - I have poems I like rather than a whole author's work. I like foody scents for my home as well - baked goods, spicier in the winter and fruitier in the summer. Pies, cookies, things like that. I don't think there are any I completely avoid. I can always use measuring spoons and cups though. I saw a ceramic set of measuring cups years ago that were stored in the shape of a bee hive, with the 1 cup on the bottom and getting smaller as it went up - the bees outside the hive were the handles. Would this change if it were an article of clothing vs. a bag/pillow/blanket/somethingelse If someone were to make me an article of clothing right now, I have been looking at maxi skirts, with an elastic waist, in a heavy silk or silky fabric. Some of them look like a dress (or they are a dress, some of them!) that was bought vintage and the top cut off. My favorites have a paper bag waist and are so cute! In bright summery colors. Again, I will find links if you are interested. For scarves, etc., silky soft fabric is nice - bamboo feels lovely. I like things with a nice slip. Anything with the Worm Moon update that you're already lusting after? They make awesome hair stuff, natural deoderant, and home fragrance (and a ton of other stuff, those are just my favs)? I am pretty flexible with tea and coffee. I like most kinds! I do prefer darker roast coffee.   Favorite snack foods (and can they be from bulk section as well?) Depends on my mood, sometimes sweet, sometimes salty. Cheez-it crackers are awesome, raw almonds, chocolate... I like freeze dried fruit, the crunchy kind, but I don't know if that is available in bulk. It is hard to find, sometimes. I want to try dried mulberries - I loved mulberries as a kid, and had not idea you could get them dried until I saw it in a magazine.

I thought i posted this yesterday   surprise! the world has given you the day off. You hear that, no chores, responsibilities, or budget you have to follow. What would you do in those 24 hours? Given real-world contraints (no time travel) and the 24-hour time limit. I would drive from Sacramento down to Sausalito. I would spend the morning wandering around... have lunch by the water. Then I would hop on a ferry and spend the afternoon wandeing around San Francisco. And eat some sushi for dinner!   Do you have any blogs you regularly read? not really.... I love smittenkitchen.com though!   Do you need another bpal box? If so what would your fantasy one look like? I dont have ANY box. I have a hodge box of small boxes that dont really fit the bottles/imps quite right. I really need something for my imps. I dont have THAT many 5mls, but god how did I collect so many imps??? I would love a box that looks antiquey. Shabby chic? Or honestly, I would love anything that my witchy came up with! Who am I to stifle creativity?   Do you enjoy gardening? If so, what kind of stuff do you grow? Vegetables, flowers?I just moved into a new house and haven't really figured out the soil and whatever else yet. But i do enjoy growing flowers. I haven't ever grown vegetables/fruit. Actually--my boyfriend planted two small dwarf citrus trees so I guess I can't say that anymore! But anyway, I like flowers--Dahlias are my favorite, but don't grow that happily in Sacramento. Bulbs would be a fun present though! tis the season!

March 25   Are you interested in trying Super Villainess (from Villainess - the birthday scent that was just released tonight!) and if so, which item do you like the most? As others have stated, I also only paint my toes. Mainly because I'm not allowed to have polished nails at work (and it sucks!) I do love it though, and I really love RED! For video games I adore Final Fantasy 9 (only 9, couldn't get into the others.) Mario (who doesn't?) and Legend of Zelda! I used to play D&D but no longer. I also am fairly obsessed with Vampires and have been since I was young. You hear that, no chores, responsibilities, or budget you have to follow. What would you do in those 24 hours? Ok, Providing there's endless money, I don't have to worry about sleep and I can get places all over the world quickly, I'd go to Japan and help with the rescue of people and animals in the areas hit by the earthquake and tsunami, in the last 2-3 hours of the day I'd come back here and get a full body massage, pedicure, and sit in The Waters.   Now if I couldn't just go anywhere in the world, I'd do what I could to help Japan from here, getting food together, supplies, whatever we're sending, and if we're sending nothing, then start getting people and supplies ready and finding a way to send them there. And again the last couple hours I'd get a massage and all that.   Do you have any blogs you regularly read? uh... not really.. I'm bad at keeping up with blogs. I have scentsy burners and I love regular candles too. I dont have any oil warming devices. And I think the scentsy burners can warm any soy wax tart. I prefer more of the "manly" smells (leather, wood, mmmm) or "clean" smells than floral ones for household scents. I think this is mostly because a lot of the floral scents bother my allergies. Which is the complete opposite of the way I select perfumes, in which I would pick the floral/green scents first. Confusing much?

SW Spring 2011 Help!

March 25   Are you interested in trying Super Villainess (from Villainess - the birthday scent that was just released tonight!) and if so, which item do you like the most? (Soap, Whipped, Smooch, Extrait, Smack...) I don't like Villainess soaps or perfumes. I have one of their smooches which is nice, and I've never tried smack.   If I were to order you a Smack, which four notes would you like? Vanilla, incense, marshmallow and berry.   Would you enjoy receiving a knitted gift from your witch? If so what would you be interested in (scarf, hat, wrist / handwarmers, socks, etc.) and in what colors? Sure! I like bright colors.   March 23   Easter Candy - do you like it? March 19   If your Witch lived near you, would you be happy or creeped out to get a "coupon" for a service like cleaning help or babysitting or dogwalking or coffee out with your Witch or something like that? Would you be creeped out if a local minion personally delivered a package to your house from a far-away Witch? Dear witch, decorative pillows would become nothing more than dog hair catchers at my house. My dogs are allowed on the furniture, and they muck up pretty much anything else that might be on the furniture.   Purses? bags? What style/colors? I’m pretty picky about purses. I actually hate carrying them, so if I’m going to be forced to have one, it needs all of the correct features. I’d probably be more open to tote bags and that sort of thing.   Decorative scarves for hair and/or creative accessorizing? What colors? I’ve never been successful making hair scarves work for me.   Soaps? Be specific: if there are BPAL soaps you want to try or are dying for more of, tell all here! Also, any other companies people like or love? Villainess, maybe? Or Lush? What flavors?? I kinda have a weakness for soap… I have way, way, way too much, but somehow I keep buying more. My two favorite soaps are Moona Lisa and Paintbox, and I’m really jonesing to try The Olive Tree and Blackbird from Paintbox.   Would you like anything from Starring Fragrances. They make awesome hair stuff, natural deoderant, and home fragrance (and a ton of other stuff, those are just my favs)? Sure! I’ve never tried Starring, but I’m always open to getting enabled.   For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? How do you feel about shimmer? I have a warm but pale skintone with pink undertones. Anything with a blue base looks terrible on me, and I don’t look all that fabulous in peachy tones either. I would prefer lippies that are sheer (shimmer is fine), since I put a lot of focus on my eye makeup.   What periods of art do you love most? Like, if someone was going to get you a tapestry or a box or some other item, what period would you want it to most resonate with? the pinks and golds of Rococo? the clean geometry of Art Deco? The romanticism of Art Nouveux? The strange lines of Cubism? Hmmm… I don’t know that I’ve ever thought about my favorite periods of art, but I definitely have a preference for geometry and bold color. My favorite artists are Picasso, Dali, Klimt, Munch, and I adore mosaic art (especially the mosaics I saw in Russia).   Let's say I have a pair of something you collect, would you like one of them and we have matching things? In my former life (pre-grad school) I was a hopeless video game junkie. My favorite games are big, open-ended, rpg-style games like the Elder Scroll series, Fallout, the Tales series (Tales of Symphonia,ect), Bioware games… I also LOVE the Legend of Zelda series. I would be so excited to receive anything video game related! As for work, I am in the radiation industry and there’s plenty of geekdom there. Yes, I am a complete geek. Yeah, pretty much everything. All of the ‘Holding Back the Night’ scents sound divine except for Lord Teishin – I just don’t like citrus.   What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd? Queen of Hearts, 51, New Orleans, Bow & Crown of Conquest   Violette Market Update is up. Do you covet anything from it? Banshee sounds really interesting!   What is your favorite type of wine? Would you be interested in trying something new? In that case, is there anything you really DONT like? Ooooo how about dessert wines? Oh I could go on all day… My favorite white wine is Viognier in a landslide, while reds are harder to pin down (I generally prefer red over white). I’m loving Norton right now, but it’s pretty hard to find, so I guess I’ll go with Malbec, Shiraz, and Carmanere for my favorite reds. I also love a good Pinot Noir, but it seems like it’s hard to find a good quality Pinot these days. I am very, very interested in trying new varietals, and unusual blends of traditional varietals. Overall, it’s very hard to go wrong with wine. The only wine I really dislike is Chenin Blanc, and I can’t do dessert wines due to the high sugar content. Witch, although I love wine and love to ramble on and on about it, I live in a state with ridiculous liquor laws. It’s illegal to ship alcohol into Oklahoma without going through a distributor, so you can only send it to me on the sly. Wineries won’t ship stuff here.   What three things are you craving right now? A day off, a day off, and a day off. Yeah, all I really want right now is just one day off.   Paper goods, anyone need? including resume paper, and formal stationery as well as casual cards. I could probably use some stationary. (What bottle would you die to get your hands on - even a partial?) I have two: Hollyberry & Mistletoe. I would trade just about anything in my collection for a bottle. I have an imp (that’s dwindling rapidly), but I stupidly talked myself out of getting it from the Post when it was live. I’ve been kicking myself ever since. Bottles seem to be pretty scarce, since I don’t think I’ve ever seen one up for trade. Loviatar. I got a frimp of this from the lab several years ago, and thought that it was nice but not bottle-worthy. After it was discontinued (and my imp had aged a year or so), I dug it out of my imp box and promptly cried. Aged Loviatar is a thing of beauty on my skin.   Is there anything in your life that you'd like advice or a "selfhelp" book for?: (ie finances, eating healthier, meal planning) Ummm…are there any books with advice for making it through your last semester of grad school? I don't really watch a lot of movies, and I tend to like classic movies even less than modern movies. However, I think that Vivian Leigh was one of the most beautiful women in the universe. I like Gone With the Wind a lot, and she was just so stunning... I love My Fair Lady with Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison. Elizabeth Taylor's National Velvet is a sentimental favorite, since I watched it a lot as a kid     Would you be squicked if I made you something with a kiss print that was made with my actual lips? I’m cool with that.   What is the coolest thing you have recently bought or been given that wouldn't exceed the price cap? porcelina gave me an awesome cross stitch of an anatomical heart for the Be My Valentine swap.   Journals? You know what would be much better for me than journals? College-ruled spiral notebooks. I truly use a lot of those, while nice journals just sit around looking pretty and collecting dust.   Rocks? I would love to receive rocks that are native to my witchee’s area!   Do people like Roller Derby? If so, would you want anything from that sport? Like memorabilia or anything? Eh, not really.   Clowns - boooo or yay (love em or hate em?)? I’ll admit, I totally don’t get clown phobia. To me, they’re just people dressed in funky clothes and wigs. I don’t love them either. Overall, I’m incredibly neutral on clowns. As for the scents, Knockout Drops looks pretty good, but the rest don’t really appeal.   Which animals do you hate/are you creeped out by? June Bugs. I’m generally not squeamish about anything, but I will freak right out if a June Bug comes anywhere near me. Actually, I don’t like beetles or beetle-like creatures of any kind.

edited/updated August 2011 . . . .   BY THE WAY I have recently found myself enjoying snippets of "Firework" by Katie Perry (?) as I pass by places that are playing it. I don't think I'd like the album, or anything, but I am really starting to like that song . . . . . . . and Adele. I am mad crazy about Adele.   I have cleaned up the previous witch blogs to keep them as concise as I can manage!   Check out SW 3.5 for the alligator clips - those the the thing I wish most for in all the world & have such trouble finding! syrenmyst found me several black ones (eeee!) but if you come across some colorful ones or anything, I'm still collecting - just not in desperate need anymore!   Kiddo - now 2 and 7 months - still loves Turtles and also Dora, Bear in the Big Blue House, Between the Lions & Veggietales.   I am still experimenting with Lavender in foods & drinks.   OH - I have never had the chance to try one of those bath bomb thingies. I know Lush sells them, but any other variation would be loved just as much!   Homemade treats & recipes are awesome!   And I love knits and any homemade stuff. All my wishlists are really just help for you to get an idea of what I like. You can make - or have a minion make - something or go with a different (cheaper) brand, or whatever. For instance - I marked Dagoba and Divine chocolates. I love 'em, they are amazing and have the added benefit of being Fair Trade/"green" but that doesn't mean that I won't enjoy a bar of Ghirdelli (sp?) or something else that's more like $1 a bar rather than $3-5 a bar   What level of nudity are you fine with on items? Living with parents atm and have a 2 year old, so I'm a bit cautious on the nudity or naughty things. As long as throwing it the wash or wiping it with a wet rag will take care of things, I'm good to go. Baked Goods? Yea Nay? Yes please!   If not Baked goods and you are changing eating habits..a book of recipes perhaps that will help the new eating lifestyle? I really prefer my recipes online (allrecipes.com is my favorite) so I can change quantities, print them out, get them dirty, etc. Or view them on my ipad while I'm cooking! I'd love Meilin's e-books for crockpot recipes and garlic and other things!   Here's a question If you were to make an order RIGHT NOW (Not that any of you will make any bpal orders until SW is over, because you do NOT want to mess up any plans your witch might have!) What would you order (from lab, forum, DD, TradingPost, etc) I would probably order Lemon Scented Sticky Bat or some of the BPTP Courtesans. And Spanked. And anything that I haven't ordered yet, like the new LE bath oils and room spray.   Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounces sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out? Which do you love most? I love pirates the most. They should smell the best too, like the sea and sky, wood, leather... If so, what kind (snap clips, scrunchie, headband, etc), how big & crazy (lowkey, bigger the better), and colors. I have mostly shaved hair but I do wear a plastic toothy headband to keep my bangs out of my eyes at work and I have some barettes/clips on my etsy favs. I would love to have more dreadfalls -- need a big wide cloth headband and some goggles to go with them. I have some black and white yarn dreadfalls but they are really heavy and don't stay on well. colors? black, purple...   Piercings? - ears?? - elsewhere? I had five holes in my ears (two in the lobes on each side and one up at the top) but I took them all out except one in each lobe. They're probably healed by now - I might need to get them repierced. I don't really wear a lot of tint or gloss, mostly just lip balm. Shimmer is ok! It's all about consistency for me... I don't like a balm to be sticky (gloss) or too slick. I do like the Lip Venom even though it's on the sticky glossy side. One of my favorite balms lately is Bunny Butt Apothocary (I get mine through the Soap Box Company.) I don't wear very many girly shoes so thin socks tend to get holes immediately. I prefer quality over quantity (especially for things like candles, chocolates, yarn, etc.) but I believe you can find a lot of small reasonably priced things that are high quality. So I'll leave it up to my Witch! I'm hoping to do a lot of smaller yet high quality things for my Witchee because I think it's fun to get lots of little packages. But you know, it's also (for me at least) about the contact and knowing someone is getting to know you and paying attention to you. What? Attention hoar?? I would, however, love to have more scrubs, both oily sugar/salt and cleansing ones, like smacks. Like, if someone was going to get you a tapestry or a box or some other item, what period would you want it to most resonate with? the pinks and golds of Rococo? the clean geometry of Art Deco? The romanticism of Art Nouveux? The strange lines of Cubism? I was always the science geek, not the art geek. So sorry, I am not into periods and don't have any interest in knowing art by period or genre or whatever. I know what I like when I see it and I like a LARGE variety of things. But I'm pretty consistent with my likes and I think I've already stated them enough times and given examples of some pieces I like, pointed people to my etsy favs, etc. I tend to like things with hues of silver, grey, black, blue, purple, dark green, dark red/wine/burgundy, bluish pinks, etc. I am not a fan of *anything* that is mostly copper/bronze/gold/yellow/orange/brown or pastels. This goes for jewelry, clothes, yarn, art, cars, mugs, boxes, tapestries, etc. -- really it's pretty universal.   Would you like caffeinated lollipops? No thanks! I actually mostly stopped drinking coffee and only do a couple of mugs of tea a day. I don't really want to jack up my caffiene levels.   Would you want an invite to a site that is invite-only ex. Diaspora, Demonoid, etc. If so, what? No idea what those are. But if you think I'll like them, sure.   Pillows? What size/designs/colors would most interest you? I use a lot of "lap pillows" to rest my ipad/books/laptop/whatever on, and I usually have a pillow between my knees when I'm curled up on the couch. Plus the dogs and boyfriend are always stealing my pillows. So... large to cover the lap and firm to hold up things. Black, purple, silver are the ones that interest me most. It might be easier to look at what kind of pillows are available at places like Michaels or Joanns and then send a pillow case to fit such a beast, though. I don't think the pillows themselves are usually very expensive. I have pillows with Ravens and such on my etsy wish list.   purses? bags? What style/colors? I really like Namaste knitting bags in Eggplant or Black. But they're pretty spendy.   Decorative scarves for hair and/or creative accessorizing? What colors? No thanks, I'm a knitter, my friends are knitters, my family has knitters. Some have looms and do woven scarves. So I get a LOT of hand knit and hand woven scarves as gifts and I have a TON. Plus I'm more into shawlettes (smaller shawlettes worn as scarves) right now and I'm super picky about my yarn (yes, I am a yarn snob.) I guess this is a push button topic for me because people just don't get it and I keep getting store bought mass produced scarves (not hand made) as gifts. While I appreciate that someone thought of me and wanted to get me a gift, this is not it. Please! (The only exception would be really nice silk scarves that someone hand dyed for me or the HUGE scarves/stoles that are mostly black with purple, blue, or red celtic knot motifs that people sell at Renn faires or farmer's markets.) Of course if you really wanted to send me a hand knitted or hand woven scarf, those I would gladly accept. But I could probably use hand knitted socks or wrist warmers more. Anything hand made or dyed is accepted with glee.   Would you like anything from Starring Fragrances. They make awesome hair stuff, natural deoderant, and home fragrance (and a ton of other stuff, those are just my favs)? If you love them and you think I would love them, I am open to trying whatever! The boyflame hates foody scents and cinnamon type scents (I weep!) but plain vanilla seems to be ok. Are you obsessed with something (a TV show maybe?) Do you work in a geeky field? Do you play rpgs like Dungeons and Dragons? Would you like gifts related to any of these?   What kind of geeky things do I do? I play computer games... I've been playing Ultima Online for 11 years+ now? I love old dos computer games (infocoms, sierra, the ultima series, etc.) I downloaded monkey island 1&2 on my ipad and finished the first one while my boyfriend was away for the weekend. I knit! That seems less geeky and more mainstream these days though. I still call BBSes (well, now we telnet to them!) I haven't scripted for a while but I *can*. I would like to get more into camera geekery (my dad is the hugest camera geek on the planet and is always giving me his cast offs but I don't know much about them and haven't really taken the time to learn.) I organize all of my books, cds, perfume, etc. and document it all on spreadsheets, scentbase, librarything, etc. Did I mention that I'm Aspergers? I think that is probably the definition of geek. I used to go to all of the Sci Fi conventions but that dropped off because I moved away to Texas, then Colorado, and just kind of got out of the habit. Plus getting older = less energy & more responsibilities. sigh.   I don't read comics anymore.. I did read a lot of them growing up. I love graphic novels though. I think I don't like reading comics because they are too short and my attention span is much much much longer. Same reason I don't like to watch TV (except on dvd/netflix/on demand) - I don't like being interupted with commercials.   I'm not "obsessed" with anything geeky (am I??), for TV right now we are watching Dexter (streaming on netflix, again for me on S1/S2, first time for the boyflame), just finished watching all of Lost on Netflix streaming. Started to watch Dead Like Me but the bf didn't like it. I have all of Twin Peaks on dvd and most of Red Dwarf (up to S5?) and have been watching Red Dwarf streaming from Netflix at work since the BF doesn't like british humor (WTF?) When True Blood comes back on I'll have to watch that every time a new episode is out. oh!! And I'm very excited about A Game of Thrones coming to HBO next month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love those books. I want a Game of Thrones "Winter is Coming" girly babydoll with the raven!! I saw some on the HBO Store website.   I have worked in a geeky field as tech support or unix system admin since 1991 or so.   I used to play RPG's... D&D starting in 4th grade (that was before it was AD&D ), Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, Paranoia, Paladium, etc. I met people when I lived in Toronto because I (1) called bbses and (2) played RPGs. Being a hot girl didn't hurt!! Some of my characters are used as NPC's in some Cyberpunk games and many of my Torontonian friends are listed as test players in the GURPS cyberpunk (I was as sick as a dog for many months and couldn't test with them.) Played Vampire: The Masquerade when it first came out and was part of the Seattle Camarilla originally but that didn't last too long because I couldn't stand most of the other people. I gave all of my game manuals to my son who is in college now and running many campaigns. He has tried a few of his campaigns out on me and Pixiepetal (my friend Lisa, she has an account here on bpal.org but doesn't read or post much.)   I do love geeky toys, I have a talking Tick doll, many Sandman & NMBC dolls & figurines, etc. I just don't have a lot of ROOM for things like that right now, so most of them are packed up in storage.   Anything with the Worm Moon update that you're already lusting after? Everything of course. I'll know more after Will Call tonight.   If your Witch lived near you, would you be happy or creeped out to get a "coupon" for a service like cleaning help or babysitting or dogwalking or coffee out with your Witch or something like that? Would you be creeped out if a local minion personally delivered a package to your house from a far-away Witch? No, I wouldn't be creeped out. I'm usually one of the local minions delivering things!! However I do have a lot of depression and anxiety, so I'm not always "up" for going out and being social.   Household/kitchen goods/gadgets? I could use another Swissgold Tea Filter. Anything I want is under my "Cooking" wishlist on Amazon. Ninja cookie cutters.. Skull & Crossbone egg/pancake mold... skeleton hand condiment set.. bone spreaders.. skull cupcake pans.. all edges brownie & lasagna pans.. ingenuiTEA tea maker, electric kettle, just to name a few. I can always use measuring cups and spoons.   Do you have a favorite fabric? If someone were to make you a fabric item, would you prefer it be out of any fabric? Silk and velvet are definitely favorites. Really high thread count cotton for pillow cases. It depends on the item?? However, if it were yarn-y, my favorite would be MCN (merino cashmere nylon) for non-socks, and merino with a little nylon for socks. or Merino-silk blends. Or heck, merino silk cashmere blends.     Let's say I have a pair of something you collect, would you like one of them and we have matching things? That would be super sweet! When I was younger the "best friend" matching rings/necklaces/whatever always intrigued me but I was a loner and didn't have a best friend to share such a thing with. My horse wasn't really interested.   What three things are you craving right now? Right now? I'd like a cupcake, a winning mega millions ticket, and to go home and go back to bed. I guess that's not really "craving" other than the cupcake.   paper goods, anyone need? including resume paper, and formal stationery as well as casual cards. no thanks.   What is a scent that you've been trying to find even a sample of for a very long time to no avail? (What bottle would you die to get your hands on - even a partial?) Pumpkin King or Noir, just to see what the fuss is about.   Is there anything in your life that you'd like advice or a "selfhelp" book for?: (ie finances, eating healthier, meal planning) Nah. I would have said Beekeeping for Dummies if asked last week, but I already bought it.   Violette Market Update is up. Do you covet anything from it? Haven't even looked. I haven't been able to afford new Villainess or Arcana from the latest updates and am not really a huge Violette Market fan. Easier just not to look.   What is your favorite type of wine? Would you be interested in trying something new? In that case, is there anything you really DONT like? Ooooo how about dessert wines? Favorite type of wine is ice wine and tawney port (I think I already answered this somewhere.) With mead being my favorite really, although it's mead - not wine. Close enough!! I have tried to get more into wine and will work with my wine snob friends and do pairings with dinner or with fruit/cheese/bread/chocolate and I tend to like those, but I really just don't drink very often. I wish I could have more wine with "dinner" but since I work graveyard I can't have anything with dinner (breakfast?) and I don't feel like drinking a glass of wine when I get home at 8am. So I have it on special occasions. I have some lovely huckleberry mead that I've been saving. For staples I usually get Chaucers Mead, Warre's Warrior Special Reserve Port, Graham's "Six Grapes" Port, etc. mostly because these are plentiful and inexpensive. I can't remember which ice wines I buy, I would recognize the bottle. I usually buy from Costco or from the grocery store because, again, inexpensive. When I visit my friends in Portland who run Cocoa Velvet, I usually go along to the wine tastings that they participate in - they do pairings with their chocolate. The farmer's market has a booth with delightful spiced blackberry wine that I adore. I'd be up for trying something new, especially a new dessert wine.   Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types? I love the Vosges chocolate bunnehs (especially Naga but I haven't looked to see if they have that flavor this year, I can just get the candy bar after all.) Cadbury mini eggs!!! Starburst jelly beans.   What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd? Snake Oil! O. Most of my favs are LE anyway (sigh.) Usually the GC's I love are for more than just scent: Baku, GRR, Bitch, TAL's, etc. so it would be really bad if any of those were to disappear.
