SW Halloweenie 2010 questions Part III

9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? Yes, everything! Even though I haven't seen it yet I know I'll love anything. 9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? TKO! I love it so much. If I don't want to smell like lavender though (or if I don't want to get sleepy lol) I like Jacob's Ladder or Snow White What are you going to be for Halloween? Not sure yet, but I have this big old burgundy cape made out of an authentic Victorian era velvet drape that I have been wanting to have an excuse to wear since forever. I think I might be Red Riding Hood. If I had the money to humor my fancy, I'd be a STEAM PUNKED Little Red Riding Hood. Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? YES MY WITCH COULD DO ALL MY ENGLISH AND HISTORY PAPERS FOR ME THIS SEMESTER! A few Halloweens ago, I got an awesome black fleece blanket with white skeletons on it from a Witch. I have used that blanket as my "knitting/cuddle" couch blanket for years now, it kept me warm while I had H1N1 last year, my dog loves cuddling with it. I'm sure it didn't cost very much, but it's just awesome! 9/21/10 Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? I'd love to try anything, honestly. I have been wanting to try Arcana's scents for ages. How many bottles of BPAL do you have? 57, but like others have said, I go through them every couple of months and weed, selling or swapping the ones I either don't ever wear, or have been keeping for odd reasons other than actually liking them Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? Hmm. Not really I guess. Anyone else into Emily Autumn? I tried listening to some of her stuff but her voice kind of annoys me. What's on your walls? Please show us up to three paintings/posters/whatever. If you love a painting so much that you would steal (to watch it with your greedy eyes) one, please share. I'll have to do this later as I am running out of time! Note Analysis: Lavender

Continuation of my note analysis. When I first got into Bpal, I looked for scents with leather, lilac, and lavender before anything else as I hadn't ever really been into perfumes (only scented candles) and those were the only scents that I knew I liked for sure. Lavender has also been a love of mine, particularly when paired with vanilla. While I don’t have any great memory associations with it like I do leather and lilac, it was one of the major notes that I originally hunted down scents for.   The Lab's lavender notes: Of the top three I first started hunting, lavender proved to be the most difficult to track down scents containing it that I like. I think this is mainly because lavender is a sharp high note which I don’t actually like as a skin scent as much as I thought I would. Out of all of the scents I tried, Lilith Victoria proved to be the best strong lavender scent for me, and it has a strong sweet component from the Snake Oil and Dorian note combos. SW Q&A September 22nd

Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? I have a favorites list. It's linked in my original SW post. It's a bit out of date. Haven't had much time to stare at he pretty art lately.   Is there anything from Blooddrop that you want to try? GC? Halloween update? A corset? I think I have the right company... I'm not sure. I haven't really looked at hteh site. I'm sorry!   What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? I am probably hte last person on earth who *needs* shoes. But I love boots. Especially, flats, over the knee. Also, ballet flats. I wear size 9/9.5. Don't mind used, as long as it's shoes you wear socks in.   Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? Sure!   Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags? I like the occasional goth or creepy thing. Not so much into gory stuff.   What song is on heavy rotation for you right now? Umm, inside my head is like a radio station of utter random. Currently getting heavy play are 'Like a G6'Far East Movement, 'Habibi' Ishtar Alabina, 'Wine Up On Me' Zoelah, and several tunes that I replace the lyrics with random words, or moo/meow, etc. Yeah, I'm kind of strange.   Are you coveting any of the NYCC atmospheric sprays? Not coveting. I don't really use roomspray, but British Blondes is so good.   If you could get any one thing hand-painted from your witch, what would it be and what would be on it? I'd love anything hadnpainted from my witch. whatever they would enjoy crafting? As to themes, plants, the beach, and mermaids are usually a pretty safe bet.   Would you (assumin' you're a yarnie) be interested in a naturally-dyed yarn that's designed to very gradually fade with washing? That sounds cool!   If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW. I have not played before, but my most memorable gift was probably a book. A new Xanth novel had come out around Christmas, but I didn't ask for it, because money was a little tight that year. My parents got it anyway, without me even asking. It felt really good. Books are such a luxury, but also, because they knew what I really wanted and enjoyed without me having to say anything. Don't worry about gifts, dear witch. I'm going to love anything you get me, because you are making this massive effort to read all these questions and posts to get to know me. You are awesome.

Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? Please, no.   Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies?   Zombies are a cool horror movie monster. I'm also very interested in the anthropological basis for zombification(i.e. religious practices, herbs, and/or blowfish poison) and the folklore surrounding it.

Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? I love garnet, turquoise, tigerseye and amethysts and am always looking for nice pieces to wire wrap.   What's your favorite Halloween Music? I really like ballads around this time of year, and creepier folk tunes. Pete Seger - Pretty Polly, Medieval Babes - Tam Lin, are good examples. If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW. Last round I was in: Caramel Bess from John and Kira's (OMG! Sooooooo good!) and lovely books from Wwindy. I also love the mug juniperusintrepidus made me waaaay back when I started. And I've misplaced the dear witch's name, like that horribly disorganized person I am, but this was one of my favorite packages, ever. I really adore handmade things, and she made both the scarf and the dread falls. She also enabled me to Teapigs, which has some really decent tea and reasonable S&H to the U.S.   Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? I like dressing up as a zombie, I like zombie comedies (shaun of the dead, zombieland), but I don't like actual zombie movies very much.   What kind of shoes do you need/want? EDIT: Lovely Witchee, I purchased the Pharaoh Moon since it was a 24 hour exclusive and I was almost peeing myself with desire for it.   I unfortunately looked at the VA (Vampire Apothecary) updates...and well...ugh. Want. I have it. Damn damn damn, I didn't need to see the Castle Pilot really I DONT NEED A snarky TV show to watch. So witch i thought i should mention i have been adding to the great WANT list of doom at amazon. Its become a kinda wonder land of things i want. So i will at some point NEED the rest of this show. It has fabulous music, to go with snarky dialog, its all things love. But i have only now seen two episodes the first and one some where in season 1 (it was about a girl rocker's death) so i can't do any fandom or anything like that YET.   Well the oldest just woke and puked her dinner down the stairs, I was thinking ti would be an early night for me. No such luck.

What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) I'd probably go to Zingerman's, get my usual order (#26, please), and then since it's my last meal, I'd probably pile on the sides of mac and cheese and rice pudding. And then gelato and something baked, too. HEY IT'S MY LAST MEAL I DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT CALORIES. NaNoWriMo? The flesh is willing, but the mind is weak. I still try every year because I'm a sucker. Last year I hit a whole 1200 words.

If you happened to be my Witchee, is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update? I don't even know where to find Arcana. If you want to give me something from there, I trust your judgement.   How many bottles of BPAL do you have? 58. I said 57 on the thread, but I forgot about the nearly empty bottle of Blood Phoenix.   Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? I love belly dance music, high energy stuff, and mellow, relaxing instrumentals.   Anyone else into Emily Autumn? Yes!   What's on your walls? Please show us up to three paintings/posters/whatever. If you love a painting so much that you would steal (to watch it with your greedy eyes) one, please share. A giant poster of this hangs above my bed framed. I had it at college, and it brings me zen. My only issues is that it should be 'were' not 'was', but-- seeing as how I have difficulties typing letters in the correct order, I probably should not get all OCD about grammar. There is a tiny cat gargoyle head above my door, and a wall chunk of fanart in slipcovers(including chibis, favorite characters, some cute couples, cute anime/manga guys, and a mermaid). Two oval La Mode Illustree framed pages from 18-something hang opposite an add for Doc Constantine's Pharmacopaeia that a friend got out of a magazine for me(and I then laminated). All of that is in a corner behind my folk harp. In other things that aren't on my wall, but are decorative(and not plants): three geisha dolls in two display cases sit high up; one atop a bookshelf, the other on my wardrobe. I don't think I covet anything particular? I have a poster print of Hylas and the Nymphs, and one of a mermaid that I would like to display, but I have yet to frame them.   do you like Girl Scout cookies? Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? Ummm, I like garlic in things that are supposed to have garlic. Red sauce, garlic bread, etc. The notion of garlic in fudge is a little icky. Can I talk to you about the living dead? So far, except Forbidden Desire, the American Gothic collection suits me well, and I think I still have 2 samples to try... I'm impatient to see if they're as good as the ones I have tried so far!

9/21/10 Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? NO. THE MEMORIES. THE HORROR. When I was in sixth grade we went to a garlic festival at an otherwise lovely dining establishment. Everything was over-garlicky, but my sister and I are all, "Well, at least there is dessert and that will be nom and not garlic." Vanilla ice cream with garlic honey sauce. First of all, it's the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. Second of all, I'm kind of scarred for life when it comes to "garlic" and "unusual".   Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? Generally, they are hilarious. I loved Zombieland after the first 15 minutes of too violent/gross for me. I'm such a girl that way. However the things like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? I ADORE them in concept. In execution, the author is so pitifully below Jane Austen's writing style and level that I can't actually stand to read them.   9/20/10 If you happened to be my Witchee, is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update? I know you aren't asking me this, so I just take the chance to say <3 you!   How many bottles of BPAL do you have? Really? Really? Crap. 61. Many of which were acquired as (low level) partials and one of which makes me so sad, I actually don't like looking at it anymore (ask me about the FULL bottle of Snow Glass Apples that I spilled everywhere five seconds after getting it)   About 20 of them probably need to be sold or swapped off at this point. I just am so lazy in that respect. Hair combs with the long bits especially. I used to have an Oberon Designs haircomb that I LOVED, but it is lost to the sands of time now. No problems.   In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? Okay, seriously, a hooded shawl. But if not that, then gloves are divine. Especially if you leave the fingers off. I have a smart phone, so I like to muck about with it even in winter.   How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? Sorry for the delay in responding to your E-card, it got sent to my spam folder and I only just read it. My weekend was great, thank you! I did not have my heart set on the Autumn soaps from Paintbox, I just wanted to try something/anything from them. I'm very happy with the ones you picked. Regarding your intriguing question, my daughter's innocence regarding profanity has long been sullied. She knows not to say those words herself, I tell her those words are only for grown ups. Not a concern at all. I'm excited to find out what you're plotting!
