9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? My family was Air Force, so this question encompasses a lot of places. Perhaps a will o' the wisp scent, that constantly morphs. Sometimes wonderful, sometimes even a nasty phase   Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? Very much looking for imp-size or even smaller roller bottles, for carrying & reapplication. Cobalt blue, or some other dark color. Still looking, if you know of something and it's not in your plan for me, witch, perhaps posting a link in the bottles thread so I can find it?? Plz? And wand caps. Wand caps are cool. I've been updating all the entries as time goes on, especially as I have time to look things up. Just so you know...   9/24/10 Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? See entry below - a kodama, or a zombie, or a Cthulhu, or whatever looks like fun to make if you are craftily inclined, Wonderful Witch. Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? Sure! A cool shot glass from your locale would go well in the collection in our home bar. Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? Haven't checked yet. And couldn't even find vampire apothecary's stuff. May have to reread the thread o' doom to see if I can find a functional link. Um, someone posted the link. And then I looked - apparently during a particularly weak moment. Some samples are headed my way even now... Venomous Villains? This board is full of wicked enablers!! Now I am coveting Bad Fairy nail polish, something fierce. And apparently one of the colors is a dupe of Orly's Space Cadet, and now I want that one too. Enablers, hmph. Last Unicorn? It sounds really awesome. Want to see the notes listing, but I'm probably going to order a sampler pack for myself through Conlan Press. Who is your fav Disney Villain/villainess? How about hero/heroine? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though) Oogie Boogie, Maleficent, the Bowler Hat from Meet the Robinsons. Heroes/Heroines - Sally, Matilda.   9/23/10 Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? I used to have a Siberian Blue Quartz stone that I loved, but it is gone now. Also called cobalt blue quartz, would love to find another one. Even if you find a link and send it to me, that would be awesome... Other favorites include moonstones, rhodocrosite, and many others.   What's your favorite Halloween Music? Nightmare Before Christmas soundtracks (yes, I have all 3 versions). Addams Family theme. Anything fun & spooky.   9/22/10 Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? No. I enjoy looking, but am not up to making another wish list at the moment.   Is there anything from Blooddrop that you want to try? GC? Halloween update? Nah. Checked it out, but some of the other new e-tailers look more entrancing to me. Violette Market & tartchef's soaps look fascinating, and I'm going to get myself in big trouble looking through Etsy lists.   What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? I wear size 8.5 US Women's, I have a pair in my Amazon wishlist but must firmly decline the offer of gently used shoes.   Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? One of my favorite things to do, kind of meditation for me - let go of distractions & just let the colors flow. Pencils, pastels, charcoal, Dover coloring books, some cool paper dolls... Always welcome!   Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags? Especially after seeing the ones in the thread, probably not. Kind of scared now actually. I like going barefoot when possible, and have a Nightmare Before Christmas messenger bag as one of my favorite purses. i caved

okay i admit it I caved, i couldn't deal with the caffineless of my existence any more. So i am back to almost full speed. I am going to try weening myself back instead of the abrupt stop this time.   I will be posting to the IGT thread about the girls fairy booklets. They are Frothing to get to them and i keep telling them they have to help me get a place cleaned off to do it.   I am almost 25 pages behind on the SW thread due to my weekend in the fog. I will slog through it today and hope to get to the minty catch uped ness by tonight, but it may be tomorrow.

Steak Sauce through 9/20

Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I’m not into fantasy or science fiction Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I like soaps, but have found that bar soaps tend to be drying on my skin. I do adore all of most of Paintbox’s soaps and sorbettos, with the unfortunate exception of The Queen is Dead. I was so excited about this one and after trying it I kept wondering where the smell of burnt fried chicken was coming from. Unfortunately it was me. Normally honey and I tend to love each other, but not this time. I am anxious to try any of her fall LE’s, but I’ve been good and haven’t ordered any for myself. I’m not a huge Lush fan, and have quite a pile of it that I’m trying to use up. Otherwise I love the little sample sizes bars and slices. I’m more than happy to try any brands that you think I might love. Right now I’m loving my Snake Oil soap! Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? I like hair toys! I have very thick hair that is shoulder length, and growing. 90% of the time I wear it pulled back or put up in some fashion. Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? No children to worry about. In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? I think I kind of answered this once, but just to make sure I’ll do it again. Wrist warmers, half gloves, fingerless gloves and such would not be of much use. I live where we have real winter and need to cover up. A neck warmer would be ok, though. I love slippers!! My favorite pair ever were a pair that I got at a church bazaar that were hand crocheted. As for hats, I love them in theory, and tend to buy lots of them. In reality, I never wear them because I have so much thick hair that they never fit exactly right and then my head gets sweaty and itchy. I usually wear a big scarf (almost the size of a small afghan)wrapped up around my head and neck then tucked into my coat. How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? I think they are great. Is there anything you want from the Violette Market update? I will try to update the wish-list giganticus on Amazon with those. What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? (ie. forest, canyons, mountains, by the beach; temperate, tropical...) I actually like where I live. I’ve been to a bunch of other places, but home is home. I am so enamored of the beautiful things I see on Etsy, that I just don’t even know how to begin to start. Is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? I’ve never tried Conjure Oils, but I shall look at them and update the wish list accordingly. Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? I try hard not to look at those as I will never get my paws on them, but I’m pretty sure I would commit several unmentionable acts for Sibyl and The Elephantine Colossus! Would you mind a gently used dvd/cd if your witch had it or could get it?? I can’t think of any, but I’ll update if I do. And used are always great. Is there anything from the Possets' Hallowe'en update you're lusting after? SEVERAL! But, I’m being good and not ordering any. I’ll update my wish list. Would you like a custom/altered toy either from a seller or from your witch (like My Little Pony, or a Barbie or any particular toy that can be changed?) No thank you. Cute, but not really me. Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses? Mmmmm…… Yes! All of the above. Anne Taintor, anyone? Which web comics do you enjoy? None. But if there are some that you think I’d enjoy, please point me that way. If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? The bigger the better. Don't like scarves? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? Those are great too. How do you feel about recipes? Love Them!!! I have a substantial cookbook collection. (Like over 200) What kind of a cook/baker are you? When I have the time I’m all about the from scratch. Last Christmas I made over 80 dozen cookies/bars/candies to give away. Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? I like good home cooking. Very rarely do the microwave thing. About once a month I make 8 or 10 different meals, then freeze them in individual portions so that I just have to throw one in the oven when I’m hungry. If I send you something home made would you like the reciepe for it? Please! If you are someone who doesn't want baked goods sent, would you like a collection of some of my favorite recipes? Yes Please! Would also love your tips and tricks if you have any. How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? Those would be great. if you are a tea lover, what are your flavor preferences? Green? Black? Herbal (I know, technically those are NOT teas, but tisanes)? Flavored blacks/greens? No thank you on the teas.

9/19/10 Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I'm not really much into fantasy at all, but I've been trying to read some Neil Gaiman and would like to read American Gods (actually started to listen to the book on CD... 19 CDs from the library, but didn't get through it before I had to return it to the library) since I live quite close to House on the Rock.   Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I LOVE soaps of all kinds! Lush and Villlainess soaps are great, and I have a decent stash now of them. I'd love to try others; I'm not even sure what all is out there!   9/18/10 Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? I use hair scrunchies (ponytail holders). I might like a nice simple barrette (or a pair of them) now that I think about it.   Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? Bois 1920, Classic 1920

Notes: "Chinese citron, Haitian vetiver, Antilles sandalwood, amber".   Given the notes listed (and the price tag), I was expecting to be really impressed.....and I'm not. Don't get me wrong, this smells good. Nothing offensive about it. It's so smoothly blended that I can't pick out one single note, except maybe amber, but only because I know it's there. But this really didn't 'wow' me and I wouldn't go hunting down a big bottle. I would put it at the masculine end of the spectrum, clean smelling, but not hyper dude-fume. I wouldn't be surprised if there are women who enjoy this. I'll enjoy the rest of my sample!

What? It's a Jackson Polluck (which seriously, if it looks like a drop cloth, does not deserve to get tons of money).   Girl Scout cookies? You can send all the Samoas, Thin Mints, and Trefoils right here!   Apple butter? Oh yes. Berry butter sounds good too. No pumpkin butter, though.   Incense? No thanks.   Art? I have mostly naked walls. There is a framed print of a generic French seaside town in the dining room, and at the end of the hallway there is a colorful print of gerbera daisies which was originally meant to be hanging in my bedroom. Other than that.. empty. Count me on the list for Starry Nights, and Monet's Waterlilies.   Emily Autumn? Have d/led some of her tracks, but I don't think I've actually listened to them yet.

How many bottles do you have? 5mL: 57 10mL: 1 empty 5mL: 2   Any kind of exercise/ activity you are interested in learning, or already do and need stuff for?   Umm, I don't think I'm up to learn anything new right now, but I like to practice belly dance moves. SW Q&A I have no idea what date

I think I missed some, there for here area bunc hof random questions:   Edible Arrangements No, thank you. It is still rather warm here, and I think that would not go well.   Incense I think I'm more of a traditional incense kinds girl. I like Shoyeido. Kyoto Sakura Blossom is my favorite. I don't burn incense very often, so I still have a bunch, but if you have something you'd like to share, I'll definitely appreciate and use it.   Arcana/Possets/Conjure Oils update I have not tried any of these brands, so I have no idea. If you have something you think I'd like, sure, but please don't go out of your way.

Sorry witchie to worry you. I have to admit i am a bit bi-polar when i am up i am bouncy when i am down i m rather well dead sloth like. I have been trying to give up caffeine again this past week i spent mostly in bed trying to be conscious for anything I HAD to do. it was not pretty. My head ache was almost gone this morning so with some errands and having to take the little one to school ia m a little beter today.   I plan on tackling the thread later today, i am sure after a weekend away I am WAY behind.

Fry Sauce with Cayenne Pepper

Yes, fry sauce with cayenne pepper is a legitimate condiment. And it's yummeh--I made sliders for a barbecue this weekend that were topped by swiss cheese, prosciutto and a little bit of spicy fry sauce and everyone inhaled them.   And now that THAT particular bit of rambling weirdness is out there, here are some virtual condiments:   So I have a question for y'all in the hope my witchee will answer - is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? Nothing from the Conjure Oils really grabs me.   What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? I prefer cooler climes--I'm definitely a four season girl. I love mountains, forests and the ocean. (So why do I live on the prairie?)   How do people feel about edible arrangements? I've had bad experiences with that particular company..so, no thanks.   Anyone need address/phone type books? No thanks, it's all online and on my phone.   Do you read/like fantasy? Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I think I've answered that already with all the book questions.   Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I've got tons of soap already.   I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? I don't really draw much, but nice pens sound good.   For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? I'd love to learn to crochet, and have a few crochet books on my BD wishlist. I've never used stitch markers, but they sound like a good idea.   Lipbalms: flavor preferences? tube/squeazything type or lip pots? I've already got tons of lip balms, but I do like them. I do have a few pots/tins, but I prefer the tube ones because I always get lip balm under my nails with the tins.   Does anyone do altered books? Would you be interested in old books to alter? Any type or title in particular? Yeah, a bit, but there's tons of junky old books here so they're very easy to find. Old (pre 1900) damaged dictionaries and science books are good though, coz I use the pages for jewellery.   Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Something to store or burn it in? What scents? What form? I've got tons of incense, thanks. Something to store it all would be lovely though!   Any oddball free things you collect or would want saved for you? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? skinny one, I don't like a lot of bulk around my neck but I love the aesthetic. Specifically, which particular items?   comfortable, supportive bras in my size. Umm, possibly, pretty necklaces; necklaces with real stones and wirework, and all that shiny stuff. I went to Conjure Oils, because someone mentioned Succubus(I'm sad, I know). So, from the update: Succubus and Four-Leafed Clover sound awesome, and possibly Malocchio and Abbadon. From the GC: mimosa SN, Mercury Retrograde, Sagittarius, Anything from the Caravan section,the Light Maiden, the Shadow Queen, Earl Black, and Mabon look good.   Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? I try not to pine over the exclusives. It isn't nearly as far away from me as it is from a lot of other BPALers, but I'm just not that hardcore. I like the worlds of Xanth, the Myth Adventures series(By Robert Lynn Aspirin), I used to like Pern, and Landover, and some Discworld(haven't read any of those in a billion years). Fantasy-related gifts sound fabulous!   Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I like soap. I don't use soap that has lauryl/laureth sulfates, because it makes my skin insanely unhappy. But other than that, soaps are awesome. I think I use Lush soaps the most; of which my favorites are Sandstone(so much citrusy love), Demon in the Dark, and Honey I washed the Kids(which I am not supposed to use because of aforementioned fubar:( But it smells so lovely!). My current bar of soap is Olive from BodyShop. I'm not *dying* to try anything , but Paintbox Big in Japan sounds good, and there was a carrot rosehip one somewhere on the worlds longest Etsy wishlist, and a couple from Steambath-- but I'm not sure if that is a 'hey, awesome soap' thing or a 'hey, this soap has a *key* in it!' I like keys.

Possets Halloween

Mini-breakdown.....   $10,00....."A dry masculine and memorable scent featuring a smooth yellow amber, bay, bay wood, a drop of tobacco flower, a very tiny amount of lavender". Sounds good but just doesn't grab me. I dunno, Possets are so inexpensive it might be worth a try. I do like dude-fumes, and I like bay. We'll see.   301...."a multiplicity of my favorite musks and cashmeran". Not much to go on there. Could be good, I looked up cashmeran and all I could find is that it's a synthetic musk. Moving on for now....   Black Hole...."Vetiver and black pepper, lavender and earth, a "black" patchouli, a slight slight slight bit of tarragon". Again, sounds okay but not shouting out "buy me, buy me!". I'll watch reviews and keep it on my list for consideration. The more I think about it, this could be a good one, but I do have a few scents like that already. I never even wear Void Moon or Winter Solstice, which I should because they're both really great scents.   Dank...."sweetbriar makes an appearance lending it's zest to the whole, while root oils hold the bottom half down, particularly vetiver and ginger. There is a splash of booze and a few autumn plums in the mix to give it an air of being a luxurious rest rather than drippy". This sounds good too, unless it has that galbanum-like note that Fabienne has been using lately. I don't like it and it could be one of the 'root oils' mentioned. I'll have to sniff this before risking a whole bottle.   Dark...."A thick and perfumy blend with a heavy dose of Frankincense to start off, black musk and fig. No greenery with it but a good layer of an almost burnt sugar and an animalic undercurrent which somehow becomes very light and sweet when breathed out". This sounds appealing....yet again.....could have that green rooty note that I don't like. Maybe I should just ask her what it is?   Phantome...."A very light and transparent scent with a subtle amber as a base, Sicilian lemon zest, a drop of cognac, and the tiniest amount of menthol (you really would not notice it if you were not looking)". Okay....getting more and more promising....this sounds pretty good. Sounds kind of sophisticated and ethereal. We'll see.   Specter...."Amber and fennel, put together in a thoroughly unexpected way". Now we're cooking with gas....this sounds really interesting, and it's high up on my list of what to seek out and at least sniff first.   Spirit....."A strong dark chypre with a lot of incense and resin to it. Frankincense, myrrh, copal, fir resin, and labdenum. Yet this is a certified Western European chypre. It is lovely, dry and captivating. Neither warm nor cold, like a spirit with a 10,000 mile stare". Oooooh, this sounds really great. This has the most potential for an unsniffed purchase. I could always use another good fir scent. The only thing holding me back is if this were major dude-fume, which can be a turn-off. I like butch but there's such a thing as too butch. Possible bottle?   That's all I got for now. I skipped the kitties because they will be at the Possets/OAR party at Fabienne's studio, and I'll be able to test first. I'll report back on those.
