Would you like to receive one, and if you would, what sort of audiobook would you like--or is there a particular audiobook you've been meaning to get? Not huge on audiobooks, although they’re pretty neat. If you’d like to send me one, then why not? Surprise me! Switch Witch Q&A Fall 2011, PART II.

Started up Switch Witch Answers PART II here! Also now to my Witch you don't have to get me anything I mention here really. I simply answer the questions in case it helps give you a better idea of me and what I like and in case any of the questions are yours! You seem to have a master plan already and I would love to see how it all unfolds. Also. YOU ARE AWESOME. October 20th Do you need any winter wear, witchee? Not particularly, but I always love socks and fingerless gloves, gloves, mittens, very large cowls, and capes! Winter is my favorite time of the year I've read something about a Event Exclusive called Pumpkin Hard Candy (if someone knows the details, shout it out because I am still searching). Are you interested in this scent? How desperate are you for it? Not at all desperate. Do not even want it! I try to keep away from things that are too exclusive. Going back to the question about winter wear, are there any colors you would prefer not to have? Hmmmm. Well. I love a LOT of colors and honestly if you are curious just check out my Pinterest for color schemes I love (probably under the What I Would Wear board) but some combinations that I don't really love would be more watery cool kind of combinations? I love winter color schemes and anything rich and almost velvety in color. Autumn colors are pretty spectacular. October 14th Do you like scary books? What's the best/scariest thing you've ever read? I do like scary books! I love Chuck Palahniuk so of course I have read Haunted, so creepy and disturbing... So I was at Uwajimaya the other day and saw Earl Grey Tea Chocolate and Cinnamon Chocolate. If you were my Witchee, would you be interested in trying something like that? Earl Grey Tea Chocolate sounds AMAZING. October 13th Are you interested in anything in the latest round of Lab auctions on eBay? No thank you. What favorite song(s) would you think would translate into a cool or unique scent? Oh wow. Hmmmm. Just Halloween: Montreal and I already have a bottle of that now! I sent you with $20 into a drugstore/Walmart (nothing too fancy/imported/expensive, just your average selection), and you are restricted only to the candy aisle. What would you blow it on? Swedish Fish, Almond Joy, Cookies and Cream Hersheys, Kit Kats, Payday. October 11th What is your favorite kind of cookie? What an interesting question. Well the cookies you sent me dear Witch were amazing and pretty spot on if you ask me. I also really like white chocolate in cookies along with healthy ingredients. But seriously the cookies you sent me were AMAZING. How many boxes are you hoping for? However many my Witch sends! I have gotten so much great stuff already! Socks, cookies, perfume etc. I'm already quite happy I plan on sending off 4 total probably (three small and one large). How do you feel about loose leaf tea in baggies? I mean, I have a TON of loose leaf, would it be okay if I send you samples in some zip lock baggies? Or is that something that would squick you out? That would be awesome. I love tea in all shapes and forms How would you feel about getting a custom poster with your favorite quote on it and some cool graphics? I'm an architecture student and can print posters (provided I make them) at pretty much any size using Adobe Illustrator at a low price. Also if you would be interested in this, what quotes would you like? Awesome freaking possum. This is my question so I won't bother answering more than this. the Lab on eBay? No thank you. I have a 15' Macbook Pro unibody (I think that is what it is called). I use my computer for Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Rhino, and V-Ray. I just discovered photojojo and I USE PHOTOSHOP A LOT for school stuff and would love http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/photo-app-keyboards/ for the black keyboard for my mac laptop for photoshop. I also think I would like an Instax Mini but that is expensive so don't worry about it! Is anybody else into film photography? Interested in receiving film, supplies, etc from Lomography? YES. I like leather and cloth. If it is cloth I prefer bold patterns with few colors (like red, yellow, and cream together or red, grey and cream etc.) If it is leather I prefer brown leathers. Halloweenie Switch Witch Questions Part Deux

I ran out of room, so start here with 10/5! October 20th Do you need any winter wear, witchee? I'm fairly well stocked, but I wouldn't mind some flip-top or fingerless mitts / handwarmers so I can still have finger access for iPhone usage. I've read something about a Event Exclusive called Pumpkin Hard Candy (if someone knows the details, shout it out because I am still searching). Are you interested in this scent? How desperate are you for it? I'm guessing this was the freebie for costumes at Will Call? If my witch happens to have gotten one and doesn't love it, I'd love to try it. I would have been at Will Call in Costume, but unfortunately I had a killer migraine and couldn't take painkillers because I was having surgery on Friday. Going back to the question about winter wear, are there any colors you would prefer not to have? My color preferences for this are the same as most everything... I love blue, purple, grey, and black. Some greens are ok, and that's pretty much it. October 14th Do you like scary books? What's the best/scariest thing you've ever read? It depends on what kind of scary. I like vampire books, though many of them aren't scary nowadays. I like books like Silence of the Lambs that are about a semi-realistic kind of scary, and I loved The Graveyard Book, which I suppose is "scary" for kids. I've read and enjoyed some Stephen King, but The Shining scarred me for years (granted I was 9 when I read it) so nothing *too* scary. October 13th Are you interested in anything in the latest round of Lab auctions on eBay? I haven't looked, and I think I'd better not. What favorite song(s) would you think would translate into a cool or unique scent? Well, Black #1 mentions her perfume smelling like burning leaves, but I wouldn't want to smell like that. None of my favorite songs really evoke a scent to me, but Bleak (by Opeth) would at least be a neat name. Anyone interested in VApothecary's Halloween update? No idea who this is. Interested in anything from the Beaver Moon Lunacy update? I haven't looked. I especially love chocolate chip, molasses ginger, and snickerdoodles - but overall the most important thing is that they're soft cookies. Whatever is convenient for my witch, I've already gotten two separate gifties, so any more would be more than generous. What peripherals/accessories do you have and what would you LIKE to have? What do you use your computer for? I have a Macbook that I use mostly for traveling or watching DVDs in bed. I don't have any peripherals, and no accessories besides a little zip soft bag that I got with it. I don't even know what I can get! Do you like listening to audiobooks? Would you like to receive one, and if you would, what sort of audiobook would you like--or is there a particular audiobook you've been meaning to get? I love audiobooks! I usually download them from the library, so I've got a pretty good selection. I can't think of any that I've been meaning to get but haven't been able to. If my witch is crafty, I'm always up for a crafty something. What peripherals/accessories do you have and what would you LIKE to have? What do you use your computer for? I've been a very happy Apple Inc. customer since the purchase of an Apple IIC. We (as a family) have owned several different Macs from their first introduction, but now I use a lovely 15" MacBook Pro. I have a lap desk thingy to keep it off my lap, and a little USB hub I keep plugged in to handle the various things I occasionally use (flash drive, CueCat for adding books to LibraryThing, iPod/iPhone sync cable, the external hard drive I use for Time Machine backups). I think that's about all the peripherals I use, at least that I can think of right now. I do need to get a travel case for it some day (purse style, I think, maybe red?). And what do I use my computer for? Everything. Srsly. I mean it. I find more recipes online than I do in cookbooks; I know more about my kids' and grandkids' lives thanks to their being on Facebook than ever I knew just from phone conversations or the very rare letter; I find out about breaking news; I keep up with increasingly dear and valued internet friends; I shop; and I have my creative outlet --making BPAL scent icons-- thanks to my computer; my husband and I talk at least once a day via Skype, which is so much better than just a phone call; I find out how to get to where I wish to go IRL thanks to Google Maps; and any information I might need (from who played second lead in an obscure movie to the atomic weight of salt) is easily found online. I love my Mac, and even without online access, I would still love my computer - it organizes my life: I have a calendar of my appointments and/or important happenings; databases full of what books I own, or wish to own, movies, perfume, music, even the food I have on hand, all of which sync from my computer to my iPhone so that I can prevent buying duplicates when out and about. I write letters (email as well as snail mail) on my computer, and it also operates as a calculator occasionally, albeit a very expensive one. I store all the digital photos I take on my computer, and keep track of which I've shared with whom. One of these days I hope to figure out how to use an older MacBook + huge external hard drive to rip and store all my movie and TV show DVDs for replay directly to my TV, instead of using a DVD player. Here's the picture of it: I love the way it feels as I move my wrist; it's very light weight, and quiet, and the shell buttons are so pretty. I love the colors of the complementary beads the artist used in this bracelet. Probably the most expensive thing in this bracelet was the silver toggle fastener, which just proves jewelry doesn't have to cost a lot to make someone happy. The best thing I ever ate...: I'm such a foodie type that I don't think I could pick just one thing, but some contenders -- bouillabaisse in St. Tropez, uni hand roll at Sushi Yasuda, Bi-Rite salted caramel ice cream, strawberries and tomatoes from my garden, my grandmother's mandelbrot, New Year's Eve dinner at La Tour d'Argent, lobster eaten with my hands at a picnic table outside at a Maine lobster pound, the skin off the turkey while my dad is carving it at Thanksgiving, BACON Do you like liquorice? If so, hard or soft? Sweet or salt? Normally salted or so salt it pulls your face into a fishy shape? And which shapes do you like? All kinds! Some of the salted starts to taste a little ammonia to me, but I've never disliked any of the firmly chewy kind. Mac using witchees, what computers do you use? What peripherals/accessories do you have and what would you LIKE to have? What do you use your computer for? I have a MacBook, one of the older white ones. I don't think I need anything for it other than a new computer, but we're not quite there yet. I use it mostly for web browsing and working on my never-to-be-finished novel. Do you like listening to audiobooks? Would you like to receive one, and if you would, what sort of audiobook would you like--or is there a particular audiobook you've been meaning to get? I don't regularly listen to them, though I have enjoyed some immensely. What tends to happen is my mind starts wandering and then I have to find my way back to the spot I went astray. I did once have a volume of Rumpole of the Bailey stories that were wonderful when read aloud, and wouldn't mind getting more of those. Are there any DIY / Crafty / Free / Budget items you'd love to get but haven't noted yet? (Or, maybe you'd just like to emphasize something you may have only noted in passing?) I'd love a witchy crafter to use some of her/his stash items to make me a starter kit for a project, especially in beading or soapmaking. Do you own a DSLR camera? I mostly like them scary in the form of hard boiled/serial killer/police procedurals. I'll never forget when I read The Silence of the Lambs. The movie had just come out, and I'd heard it was really scary, so I wanted to read it first. I started it right before I left Washington, DC, where I'd been working on a play, and basically could not put it down. I was terrified, but compelled. I remember sitting in my hotel room with my stuff all packed up, just not being able to move until I'd read it. Are you interested in anything in the latest round of Lab auctions on eBay? I restrained myself, but Giant Vulva! I don't usually do eBay because of the stress. What favorite song(s) would you think would translate into a cool or unique scent? Ziggy Stardust! The Thai scent sounds interesting, but not enough to order. I wouldn't mind a tester. I sent you with $20 into a drugstore/Walmart (nothing too fancy/imported/expensive, just your average selection), and you are restricted only to the candy aisle. What would you blow it on? This is my fantasy. I'd get a lot of chewy Sweettarts, chewy Spree, a bag of the cherry pull-apart Twizzlers or Nibs, some Haribo gummies, especially the sour peaches and the alphabet letters, a box of Milk Duds. Now 'n' Laters if they have them. What is your favorite kind of cookie? Homemade pretty much anything, as long as no macadamia nuts. I really love the big chewy-soft molasses ginger cookies and a good old classic Tollhouse. Bought, I'm quite fond of the dark chocolate Petit Ecoliers. How many boxes are you hoping for? As many as my witch would like to send! Even little things in the mailbox are exciting. How do you feel about loose leaf tea in baggies? I mean, I have a TON of loose leaf, would it be okay if I send you samples in some zip lock baggies? Or is that something that would squick you out? I am all for it, but label it so I know what it is and can get more if I like it! How would you feel about getting a custom poster with your favorite quote on it and some cool graphics? I'm an architecture student and can print posters (provided I make them) at pretty much any size using Adobe Illustrator at a low price. Note to my witch: sorry for being so slow to respond on some of these. I hope you weren't asking any of the time critical questions (like "do you want anything in my Sephora order?"). Still recovering from my in-law visit last week and a cold and I haven't had the mental energy to do a whole lot of question answering... Oh, and also, the Vegan Month of Food has begun! So I am (food) blogging again daily, just for this month. I doubt it's terribly relevant to you, but if you're interested, my blog is here. October 3rd Does anyone else like collector Barbies? Nope. Never a Barbie fan. The only interest I ever had in them (as a child) was making clothing for them. What small everyday items would you like, that you keep forgetting to get? See my post about 10 under $10. Also, quart sized plastic baggies. Also, a ball of rubber bands. I thought of both of these yesterday and was like "I should put these on my SW wish list!" and then was like "that is crazy, my witch is going to think I'm a 90 year old woman who pays for everything with her change purse full of pennies." Let's not be silly. I don't have a change purse. Tarot Yes? I generally really like tarot themed imagery. I'm not particularly spiritual or superstitious, I don't believe that tarot cards actually tell you anything about what will happen, but I think they're a great tool for organizing your thoughts about a situation and/or having someone else help you think about your situation. The first thing that came to mind, probably because it's morning: I love snuggling with my kid while he's sleeping. There's just something so damn peaceful about the whole thing. Listening to him breathe so evenly, murmur in his sleep, feeling how warm he is (always like 10 degrees warmer than me), I find it impossible to think about or worry about very much at all. Marijuana use (recreational or medical) doesn't bother me but I am annoyed by people who need to make a big deal about it. Is there a magazine that you DON'T read because you can't find it near you, but wish you could? French Glamour! Describe your sense of humour. Witty, dark, sarcastic, a little mean. Do you like reusable grocery bags? If so, do you like the kind that fold up (ie Chico Bags?) Love reusable bags. I almost always lose chico bags. Really, people give them to me all the time and I've probably lost a dozen or more. I'm about to make an order from Sephora (nothing off of my wishlist, witch, so don't worry about that). Is there anything for you that you would like to accompany my order, if you're my witchee? Have I mentioned I really love some of the Philosophy bubble baths? Especially the Cinnamon Buns. 10/4 Catch Up

Nocturne Alchemy's NAlloween Pt. 2 update is live here! (And for a few days, last month's update too.) What do you want? I have never tried Nocturne Alchemy, I will check it out and see if anything really strikes me ETA: Nope nothing appealled to me at all. Yuck. Who likes silly items from Archie McPhee??? I don't know what it is. What kind of bear is best? I am not overly partial to bears. I do sleep with a Teddy Bear though I have a question- What kind of purse do you prefer? Leather, cloth? over the shoulder or crossbody, or something that can do either? I am partial to Coach, but of course don't want my witch spending that kind of money, plus I have plenty and don't need any more Is it just me who is nervous at revealing herself to her witchee, and finding out who her witch is?! Switch Witch Fall 2011 Help Part 2

Here's a continuation of questions for this round Is there a rare book you’ve always wanted? The Natural History of the Unnatural World. Is there anything you want to buy yourself but have been too embarrassed (R rated or pg)? Nothing is too embarrassing for me to buy. I once bought my grandmother a Playgirl for Valentine's Day. if you were my witchee, would you want some of my hot nuts my candied nuts my nuts covered in butter and brown sugar candied walnuts? Sadly I don't like walnuts. I enjoy pralines though. Have you seen the Lush holiday update? Do you like the look of anything from there? The Buche De Noel Cleanser looks interesting. I would even love just a sample of this to try. Like I mentioned in my blog o' doom I use Angels On Bare Skin already. Sadly I have been waiting for years to have them bring back the Xmas Massage Bar. It was my all time favourite scent and I would buy 6 or 8 at a time when it was around. I have the ingredients listing for it with the thought that I might experiment and see if I can come anywhere close to recreating the smell. Does anyone else like collector Barbies? Believe it or not my vocabulary has expanded because of the number of these books that I've read. Granted the number of descriptive words for penises and vaginas that I also know now is greater as well. I also enjoy the escape and the ability to always have a happy ending. Would any witchees be interested in Quinn Popcorn? I am so interested in these guys. I've been following their story for a bit while they were getting funding to start their company. I love that movie to bits and what I would really love is to get my own book of shadows like they have. (I would love their whole damn house - particularly the apothecary area) I would really love the book of shadows more for recipes though. I'm not a practitioner of the craft (though if I were to be a follower of any faith that would be it - love mother nature). I kept a journal in university and I would attach all sorts of neat things like pictures or articles that I found interesting at the time. I love going back and checking it out once in a while. Sort of like mixed media I suppose. I love mixed media (though I forgot what it was called until now lol). Do you like liquorice? If so, hard or soft? Sweet or salt? I'm a big fan of regular old red licorice like twizzlers or nibs. that being said once in a very long while i get a hankering for double-salted dutch licorice. September 30th Witchee, would you like anything from this particular Haunt update? Hahaha too late for that one, huh? Who's interested in Halloween: Montreal? ahhh! I can't find the notes! You get a package in the mail containing 3 things you have really wanted more than anything else you've mentioned so far in this thread. (they are all reasonably priced of course! ~$20 or less apiece). What are they? ummmmm... honestly I have no idea. I would really love anything that you gave me. Soap, perfume, jewelry, art, games, crafted items, plants, home made food... seriously... anything! how do you feel about hemp? jewelry, soap, etc? I used to LOVE to make hemp jewelry. I love little crafts where I can zone out and focus on whatever I'm doing for a few hours. Tying knots is fun! Back on topic... I haven't worn hemp jewelry in a while but I would if I had some! I also like hemp products! I do not partake in the ganja, though! hehehe September 29th What kind of purse do you prefer? I have never bought a groupon certificate, either, and I'm worried that might suffer the same fate of the restuaraunt.com vouchers. However, if you gave it to me, I'd make 100% certain that I'd use it! To answer the other part of the question... places I like to eat at are: all of them. I only really don't like thai food but that's because I havent ever tried much of it. My favorite chain is probably Macaroni Grill. I also love Chilis, but that's more of a lunch spot. I do most of my dining out in Folsom, CA if that helps at all. Oh my god there is this restuaraunt called FATS there and it is the best chinese food in the world. nom nom nom. - If you were a tree, what would you be and why? A peach tree. Also, the peach figures into a number of myths, as both a ward against evil and as a symbol of immortality. How cool is that? Do you need any winter wear, witchee? I like knit hats! *shifty look* Something with bobbles might be fun... or the headbands/earwarmers that I mentioned in previous questions. I've read something about a Event Exclusive called Pumpkin Hard Candy. Are you interested in this scent? How desperate are you for it? I am interested! Not desperate, but interested. Going back to the question about winter wear, are there any colors you would prefer not to have? Pinks, pastels. Um, puke green is a bad color? Other than that, I'm pretty flexible. So I was at Uwajimaya the other day and saw Earl Grey Tea Chocolate and Cinnamon Chocolate. If you were my Witchee, would you be interested in trying something like that? Chocolate tea cake would be yummy, but in as much as I like sweet teas, I've tried chocolate tea and wasn't impressed. Do you like scary books? What's the best/scariest thing you've ever read? John Steakley's Vampire$, seriously. It's the book that the movie John Carpenter's Vampires was based on (though I've never seen the movie). It took the whole 'sexy vampire' thing and ran in a horrifying direction with it. Also, 'Salem's Lot, by Steven King was pretty creepy. Are you interested in anything in the latest round of Lab auctions on eBay? I'm interested in Giant Vulva on principle. (We will *ignore* the fact that I have a partial bottle in my box, and a full one in the mail. Ignore that entirely.) Needlework - I think it's a Shunga, and it has ginger and tea. Gun Moll - do freaking want! I haven't even managed to sniff it, but from the description, it'll be very useful in cosplaying. Also - gunpowder! I'm curious about Voodoo Queen, but not (as of this posting) $70 worth of curious. Midway sounds delicious. I like the Monster Baits, and Bloody Mary sounds fun. Voyeurs Among The Cherry Blossoms is a vanilla Shunga, and I approve on principle. But mostly, Gun Moll. *makes grabby hands* What favorite song(s) would you think would translate into a cool or unique scent? Damn, now that's an interesting question. I'm basing this in part of the videos of the songs, particularly for Thought of You, and Eye of the Storm. So - - (Well worth watching maximized and at high res). It's this elegant song about love and what happens *after* love. There's more longing than passion and the choriography and animation are beautiful. - In all honesty, the song itself doesn't do a lot for me, but the song in combination with the music video is haunting and I would dearly love to see Beth's take on it. - This is based purely on the song, not the video. It starts very restrained, with vocals and a harp and builds up to this vibrant rhythm perfect both for dancing and ritual work. Om Nama Shivaya - is fabulous for extended dance and ritual work and I'm very curious as to what it would smell like. Anyone interested in VApothecary's Halloween update? I . . . I am not even going to search for that. I found some stuff on Etsy that's both awesome and expensive and wandering through yet another perfume etailor will *not* do my wallet any favors. Interested in anything from the Beaver Moon Lunacy update? Beaver Moon, naturally, though I'm more interested in a decant. I sent you with $20 into a drugstore/Walmart (nothing too fancy/imported/expensive, just your average selection), and you are restricted only to the candy aisle. What would you blow it on? A bunch of sugarfree mint gum (I'm not actually crazy about it, but it helps my breath and keeps my mouth busy - these are good things). I'd get a bunch of peanut butter cups so I could bribe my boyfriend and then I'd probably get a bar of Dove milk chocolate. That stuff is *yummy* when you melt it down and dip raspberries in it. RE: Jams. So, witchee, are you interested? Hell yeah! I love berry jams/jellies and pumpkin butter makes me *very* happy. And nifty kinds of honey are great for baking. The best thing I ever ate...: That is a hard question. Um . . . raspberries with warm melted chocolate, and/or a half-baked cookie with a scoop of ice cream. (Also, meatballs made out of *really good beef* with spicy marinara sauce). Um . . dim sum downtown, with good tea, and fresh mochi are all possibilities. *ahem* As is the French toast my boyfriend makes, when we have the weekend to ourselves. How would you feel about getting a custom poster with your favorite quote on it and some cool graphics? I'm an architecture student and can print posters (provided I make them) at pretty much any size using Adobe Illustrator at a low price. Also if you would be interested in this, what quotes would you like? That would be cool! I have lots of wall space, so big is excellent. As for quotes, the poems and quotes I mentioned in the first part of the Q&A would work well. How do you feel about loose leaf tea in baggies?
