Hi Witch, hope this helps!   September 14th   Can you sum yourself (whether it be personality, life's goals, ethics, whatever) in 10 words or less? Hmm... Driven, Determined, Quirky, Crass, Leader, Pet lover, Gamer, Spiritual, Fun, Chocoholic   How about little bottles of booze? Ya wanna? What kind? Yes please! Anything not tequila!   What are your views on fudge and brownies? (Also, if you live in a warm place, where the fudge might melt, that'd be helpful to know. Or, if you're diabetic and fudge is death, that'd be useful to know, too.) I like fudge AND brownies. Chocoholic. I live in Indiana so it's pretty much betwee 40-70 F right now. It would fare alright. I like marshmallow chocolate fudge or nuts in anything (plus nuts in it ensure my hubby won't nom it all )   Also, what about mochi? Love it, hate it, baffled by it? Giant Vegan Hollandaise Sauce!

Witchee, would you like anything from this particular Haunt update? If there's anything vegan that sounds like me, yeah! But I hear Haunt is pretty hard to get so don't worry about it if you aren't foraging for it.   Who's interested in Halloween: Montreal? Maybe a decant.   You get a package in the mail containing 3 things you have really wanted more than anything else you've mentioned so far in this thread. (they are all reasonably priced of course! ~$20 or less apiece). What are they? 1. Cheshire Moon!! (my love) 2. Vegan treats from my etsy wishlist like caramel or marshmallow chocolates 3. Oh jeez. Um, a big acrylic mug with a lid and straw and glitter water filled walls.   how do you feel about hemp? jewelry, soap, etc? Sure, as a beauty product it's fine. I don't really wear hemp jewelry.   What kind of purse do you prefer? Leather, cloth? over the shoulder or crossbody, or something that can do either? Switch Witch 'Weenie Round '11 Extra Questions Part 2

Soooo... I happened to skip down to the end of my blog post to see that some of my earlier answers have been cut off! Eeeep! So, I'm going to transfer some of my most recent answers over here and answer the newest questions over here from now on (or until I need a THIRD post )   More random stuff: I have been lusting over Villainess Bourbon Vanilla Smooch and Whipped since I (re)discovered that they existed the other day via the SW thread... seriously. I have been using the death by chocolate scrub I have and it is lovely I can't even imagine how good the Bourbon Vanilla stuff will be   Do you like liquorice? If so, hard or soft? Sweet or salt? Normally salted or so salt it pulls your face into a fishy shape? And which shapes do you like? Nooooo. I really don't like liquorice. Especially black liquorice. ew.   How do you like your chocolate? For example with nuts, mint, peanut butter, caramel? I like milk and white chocolate the best. (I actually love just plain good quality white chocolate. I love how it's so creamy and just melts away on my tongue...)I like salty and sweet combos, like chocolate covered pretzels (OMG chocolate covered pretzels are my biggest weakness! Milk and white are my favorite but dark too... guh.) I am really intrigued by bacon chocolate. I would like to try it. I do like fruit flavors (wither real fruit pieces or just like a fruit flavoring in the chocolate) If I had to pick a favorite I'd say orange. But I really like grapefruit, lime (citrusy flavors are good), strawberry, raspberry... I DON'T like blueberry, mango, or cherry. Cherry is tricky because I like real cherries but cherry flavoring I do not like. Nuts are also okay. I really like almonds and milk chocolate. I'm kind of on a walnut kick right now so that wouls be good. (though I've never had a walnut in chocolate. I wonder what that would taste like...?) I like marshmallows and toffee. Those are sometimes in chocolate bars right? Oooh! I was messing around on the create your own chocolate bar site someone posted and I made a bar that was just white chocolate with candied violet petals. I am curious to see how that would taste... I've also made some others (dark or milk chocolate with sea salt and lavender, milk and/or white chocolate with orange peel, milk chocolate with marshmallows and graham crackers - s'more bar! , milk chocolate with banana chips and yogurt pretzels, because why not?, I could go on all night... )   More random stuff, BPAL related: So, it seems that I have ruined my bottle of TKO. The other day I dropped the cap (wand cap) and I didn't think that the wand hit my hand that was covered in scented lotion, but apparently it did, so now instead of smelling like a fluffy lavender marshmallow, it smells like and herbaly kinda vanillaish lavender-y mess. A practically FULL BOTTLE. I really am almost in tears over this. I know it's stupid but I can't buy another bottle and I was planning to buy a backup so now I need two and I have no money right now and what if it gets disconed before I can buy more?   Is there a movie you want that you don’t own now? Yes. Inception. I'm sure there are more but that's the only one that comes to mind at the moment.   Would any witchees be interested in Quinn Popcorn? Sure, sounds interesting!   Am I the only one? So at some point I'd like to get the smallest container of it that they make. Which I think is a rollerbottle. Another random thing! I am going to at some point get a tattoo of a phoenix. I have the drawing of the phoenix that I want, but it's not colored. I want a colored tat and I'm having issues with coloring it myself. I mean, I know what color scheme I want it to have... kind of. I'm just having trouble translating my thoughts to the paper. I don'tknow why but this question reminded me of the first time I went back to a Chuck-E-Cheese since becoming an adult (I mean, not since turning 18 but like, I hadn't been there since I was a little kid and now I was going back for my boyfriend's little cousin's party or something I don't even remember.) And O.M.F.G. the creepy anamatronic muppet robot character things on the creepy little stage "playing" their creepy little instruments with the crappy tinny music being pumped in through badly masked speakers. It was AWFUL. Their movement was jerky and sudden and their eyes never really closed or opened all the way and their mouthes moved in a really unnerving unhinged quality..... And of course the table for the stupid party was right next to the stupid "stage" where these creepy fucking puppet things were. Up close you could hear the "clack clack" of the plastic banging together and the whirring of the motors that operated their movement but really, that didn't make it any better... I know you're not going to send me a creepy Chuck-E-Cheese robot, I really don't know where that came from...   If you had to decide what your stripper name was, what would it be? Ahaha! I have a good one if you do by the name of your first pet and the first street you lived on rules (that's how my friends and I always did it anyway...) So mine would be Tawna Sellman. I think that one's pretty good all on it's own. If I ever need to go underground or need a few extra bucks... Tawna Sellman it is!   I have just been enlightened to THESE. As you know from the questionnaire, I'm 24 now, and I've been a roleplayer for half my life. My parents didn't play D&D or anything, but I always had a really active imagination as a kid; I was always pretending to be Batman and solve crimes with my best friend during recess in elementary school, and later on when the Animorphs books came out, I totally wanted to be an Andalite. Blah blah. We always had a computer in the house — I think I inherited a 386 from my mom's old office when I was fourish, and had my own AOL account (with lots of parental controls) by the time I was six. So I spent some time in late elementary school in the moderated fan chatrooms, and eventually moved on to a private chat called "Cassie's Barn," after a locale in the book. Where people were pretending to be dragonlike beings from another dimension and such. So that was where I started, and I'd later go on to roleplay a Pokémon trainer, a reincarnated goddess, a half-elf necromancer, a pink-haired elven decker, a white-hat hacker, an aasimar favored soul, the unassuming bookish woman who somehow lucked (or unlucked — he turned out to be gay and she was in love with someone else) into marrying the king of their small, socially rigid island nation, a deliciously twisted blood elven death knight, a previously by-the-books commissar nursing an obsession with the heretek rogue trader, and a lot of other stuff in between. I've made some good friends — many of whom I've never met, some of whom I'm lucky enough to have gotten drinks with, or met on vacation, or otherwise hung out with. It's been cathartic in some ways, in dealing in a safe, fictionalized way with some issues I've had, and it's been a constant creative outlet and source of inspiration for me. September 30th   Witchee, would you like anything from this particular Haunt update? I've never looked at the Haunt site before! I can't tell which stuff is the new stuff.   Who's interested in Halloween: Montreal? The candy notes involved make it less interesting to me. I would, however, love to try Hochelaga. I don't wear jewelry, though, and I don't really need more office supplies right now.   If you like manga, comics, and/or graphic novels, what is it about them that you like, in general? The story, the art/style, etc? I enjoy comics and graphic novels in general, because I love the premise of combining words and still pictures to convey action and motion. You can show things that are harder to convey in words alone, and the still scenes and composition are very different from the visual approach done on film. The medium allows for a different kind of storytelling. But all of that said, if the story isn't compelling, even the best art can only keep it going for so long. On the flip side, less technically-proficient art can still sustain a really excellent story. I try to draw comics, in addition to reading them. I don't know how successful I am, but I enjoy the process.   If you could choose a Smack, what would it have in it?   if you could have a salon scent made, based on any artwork(s) what would it be? I'm going to cheat badly and say how much I'd love to see scents based on the concert hall, in addition to the art museum. I'd adore a set based on Gustav Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde. They're kinda one of my favorite things ever, and they're animal-friendly and the handles are bamboo. And to top it all off, they work really well for applying makeup. Haha.   Are there any characters that you love or identify with? There are certainly ones I've identified with in things I've read/watched, but they're not coming to mind right now. They haven't been close life-long identifications or anything.   A question! If you are crafty, what's your personal art style? I'm not talking just about what art you like to look at, but what kind of art do you like creating? Do you have a "process" while you're creating beauty? I draw comicy/cartoony things, using ink and markers. I do other crafty stuff, but these drawings are the things I do the most often. In particular, I tend to come up with characters that are personifications of non-human things, like buildings or geologic features. My character design process is that I look at the thing I'm about to personify and try to incorporate as many of its shapes and colors into the character as possible. A building with a lot of angles and points will lead to a character with angular pointy features. Something painted red-orange (*cough*) will have red-orange hair and an orangey skin tone. A fault that cuts through granite is going to have granitic colors/spots. In terms of actually sitting down and drawing, I do pencils first, then an outline, then colors. I often lose track of time.   Are there any Arcana Weenies that you MUST HAVE? A lot of them sound good, but none are MUST HAVE NOW.   So what say you? IS an "unexpected" visit/in-person witching OK? Switch Witch catch-up questions September 23-29

September 23rd   Is there anything you'd like from the Mütter Museum Store? Much to my surprise, not really. My favorite thing in their store is the Death Mints. Mints in a coffin tin with a skull on the front – I love it! But I’m pretty sure you can get those other places than the Mütter Museum Store. The skull key caps are cute, but I’d never use them. Same thing with the giant microbes – cute, but not something I need to have laying around taking up space in my house.   I just noticed that Cocoa Pink has 5 ml Perfume Atomizers. Yay or nay? Scents you would like? Scents you would NOT like? Wow, that scent list is just overwhelming! Grapefruit sugar, Lime sugar, and Marshmallow sugar sound interesting, as do so very, very many others, especially the foody and vanilla blends. All a pizza needs is a good crust (deep dish or regular), a little bit of tomato sauce, a lot of cheese, and pepperoni. Nothing else. Really. Also, I love Fannie May candies, but we don’t have a store around here, so I always have to order from the catalog once or twice a year. My brother and sister-in-law picked up a bunch of chocolate bars for me the last time they were in Chicago, but I asked for mostly plain chocolate, so if you have a Fannie May store near you, I’d love a couple of bars with caramel or crisped rice instead! I also love their dark chocolate lemon creams, dark caramels, and dark chocolate with vanilla cream. Unless it was a mini-size jar, it would probably sit around unfinished for decades (I still have in my refrigerator a nearly full jar of grape jelly that I bought my first year in my house, which was probably about 15 years ago now).   Do you have any bedtime rituals? Is there any particular product you have to apply or a certain shirt you wear or an act you perform to get you in the "bedtime" mood? I love Aero bars. A few local stores now carry them, but they always seem to be stale or worse. The current batch on the shelf at my local Meijers seems to have gotten overheated in transit, because they all seem to be a little squished and deformed (believe me, I checked every bar in the box!). For the most part, though, the stores around here have me pretty much covered.   What is something totally random (yes, that thing that just popped into your head) that hasn't been covered by any previous questions?   Is there any cheesy/non-cheesy Canadian stuff you'd be interested in? Canada’s less than an hour away, so I think I’m good on the Canadian stuff front. Turns out that I don’t really have it in me to truly worship any gods or goddesses, but if I did, Athena would probably be one of my top 5. For the purposes of this question, I’d say that she’s the god with the strongest claim on me solely for the way I felt about her when I was younger.     September 27th   What is something people are always surprised to learn about you? Maybe that I’m older than I look? Either that or they’re just being polite when they claim to be surprised by how old I actually am!   So who else watched Babylon 5? No. I tend to prefer my scifi more funny or quirky, so more Red Dwarf or MST3K or Lexx rather than Star Trek or BSG or Babylon 5.   If you had to decide what your stripper name was, what would it be? No, but other than Tom Servo, Crow, and Gypsy, I don’t have any particular interest in puppets or the like. I don’t like a lot of insects, but I’m not freaked out by most of them. Earwigs do freak me out, but not enough that I can’t scoop them up in a cup and take them outside, far away from my house, when I find them inside. I don’t use bug spray around my house, so I get a fair amount of bugs inside, and I live alone, so I have to deal with them myself, and I’ve gotten pretty decent at doing so.   Your favorite restaurant or type of food to eat out. Would you use a restaurant.com voucher? Groupon? Japanese. I don’t use restaurant.com or Groupon, although if Izakaya Sanpei offered one I would probably have to jump on it.   Are there any local museums/attractions you keep never getting around to going to? The Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Zoo, and a bunch of museums in Ann Arbor. I get to most of them every few years or so, but I wish I went more often. Leather, cloth? over the shoulder or crossbody, or something that can do either? Do you like bold bright prints with fun things, or monochrome, solid colours? I'm not big on purses. I have one large black one in leather that desperately needs to be replaced, but I haven't found one that suits me anywhere near as well. I want a specific configuration of pockets and zippers and such, and until I find that, I'll keep carrying my crappy looking purse most places. I have a smaller black purse that I use when I'm going to a concert or something where I don't want to carry a bunch of stuff, and the strap is long enough that I can wear it over my shoulder or across my body for more security in a crowd. I wouldn't mind finding an even more streamlined one that will hold my phone, my GPS unit (don't like to leave it in the car), and maybe a few other small items like a lipstick and such. And I have a lovely little purse that Lucyboo gifted me with in another swap, and I get so many compliments on it! It would actually be perfect for concerts, except that I worry that the little gemstones will get pulled off if I'm in the middle of the crowd and people are constantly being squished up against me.   What kind of bear is best? And as I mentioned before, I’m always looking for bamboo crew socks in black (or any other dark colors, really – purple, red, brown, etc.), so if you managed to find a source of them for me, I’d love you forever!   Is anyone interested in reading The Night Circus? Maybe, but it’s not at the top of my list. I’ll keep it in mind, though, and if I see it at the library sometime I’ll probably pick it up.   Is it just me who is nervous at revealing herself to her witchee, and finding out who her witch is?! I’ve very nervous about revealing! I don’t want to disappoint my witchee! I don’t want to disappoint my witch, either! I worry when I’m answering some of the questions that my witch will think I’m too weird, or too greedy, or too boring, or that I support things/causes that s/he disagrees with (like when I mentioned wanting a handgun – I hope my witch doesn’t think I’m some sort of rabid gun nut or something! I just enjoy going to the shooting range with my dad; I would never hunt anything! Plus I live alone, and I’d feel better having something around for protection if needed). I hope my witch reveals, because s/he seems really cool and I’d like to know who s/he is, even if just so I can wave in passing when I see her (or him?) around the forum sometimes.

My dear witch,   I love chatty letters. Really, I do, and when I got yours on Tuesday it totally made my day. I've been trying to get caught up on the daily questions from Lioness' list, but it's been a busy week. Still, I'm going to keep working on getting caught up, and thank you for your patience. And thanks also for the copy of When Gravity Fails — I haven't read it before, but I can tell from the blurb on the back I'll probably love it. I'll let you know what I think when I'm done.   I don't mind used kitchen stuff at all — a few things in my kitchen I know have been around since I was a small child, and some stuff, like my food processor, is secondhand. It doesn't bother me much, since of course everything gets pretty thoroughly cleaned after you're done with it. My big, sky-is-the-limit wants right now … Well, you were spot-on with the KitchenAid mixer. I joke to my boyfriend all the time that it's going to be the first thing on the registry if and when we get married. (I like the candy-apple red color, even though that doesn't match a single thing in my kitchen right now.) I don't own a cast-iron skillet, either, and that's starting to feel like a big oversight. I've thought a lot about getting a mandoline slicer, a stick blender, an electric griddle, but ultimately I'm doing fine without all of the above right now. I guess for smaller stuff I'd like some non-stick silicone mats and I could probably use a new can opener. Not glamorous stuff, but there it is.   When I saw the exhibit at the MOMA this was in 2004 or 2005, so I think that was right around the time the Central library was being built. I did visit Seattle once while my father lived there, but that was in maybe 1999, so of course I've never seen it. I'd like to, and there are a lot of other places in Seattle I'd like to see (the Experience Music Project wasn't open yet when I visited, and I was disappointed since I wanted to go badly). Hopefully that's in my not-too-distant future.   By the way, if your next letter is three pages about why you love the Czech Republic and the people therein, I will not complain at all. My best friend is in grad school as a history major (and my plans are art history), so I kind of expect and invite these kinds of tangents from people. Plus, now you've piqued my interest.   Taking a hard left into color theory territory … I've had to give this a couple of days of thought, because clearly there's no pressure at all here, right? Plus I'm not sure I understand the question. Most of my favorite colors are cool colors and you might even term some of them "chromatic greys" because of how desaturated they appear to be, but color is a tricky thing. I actually got out my Pantone swatches to sort of give you a reference on what colors I like, and picked out a light, greyish sea green, a more saturated cerulean blue, and a dark blue-violet color. I hope that's helpful, if a little nerdy.   And yes, as I mentioned above, I love getting mail, I love reading letters. I do feel bad that I've fallen so far behind; "real life" seems to have leapt to the forefront with designs on eating my brain, but I've been trying to get caught up and think of good responses to your letter and to the forum questions. It's my first time doing Switch Witch, so I'm not too sure what my preferences for contact are. I'm not sure if I would like a ninja witch; I think I'd wonder if she hadn't forgotten about me, but other than that, I don't have any strong preferences yet.   So, I think the game you're talking about at the end of your letter might be Call of Cthulhu? My friend's husband offered to run that for a group a little while ago, if I'd agree to take up the GM reins and run a Shadowrun campaign for them at some point. We haven't started yet, which suits me alright because I've never read Lovecraft (plus, I'm foundering through Dark Heresy right now as it is. I feel sometimes like as much as I like Warhammer 40K, I know just enough to really get myself in trouble, since I haven't read even a fraction of all the books there are. Or read the comics. Or played the RTS games. Or …) You get the picture, I'm sure. Still, there are a lot of games I'd rather play than Call of Cthulhu myself, so i can sympathize there. If we start before the round is over, I'll let you know what my impressions are.

September 27th   What is something people are always surprised to learn about you?   Oh, there are a lot of surprising things about me. Almost no one would guess that I love to play sports, or that I swam competitively in high school and played rugby in college, or that I love to run and wish I had time to do it still...   So who else watched Babylon 5?   I love Babylon 5.   If you had to decide what your stripper name was, what would it be?   Patsy McPasty? Because I am a pale, pale thing.   Sooooo Witchees, have you ever taken that particular personality test? If so, are you an Analytical, a Driver, an Expressive or an Amiable?   Analytical. Both my highest score (38%) and the profile I relate to most.   Then Driver (32%), then Expressive (24%), then Amiable(6%).   Is anyone else afraid of or creepy out by dummies/puppets/Muppets/etc? Other things you're squicked/freaked by that's best left by the wayside?   I mentioned this before, but I'm not fond of the grotesque. No corpse imagery, no gory pictures, no sideshow "freaks" etc.   I also do not care for spiders and insects.   Puppets don't bother me.   Not into clowns.   what level of contact were you hoping for?   So I had thought that this was part of the questionnaire that got sent to your witch match but realized later it isn't. I'm really quiet and shy around people until I know them well.   So who else watched Babylon 5? Not yet. It's on my list of "shows that look awesome that I need to make time for."   If you had to decide what your stripper name was, what would it be? The only thing that squicks me that I'm at all likely to get in a package is dry textures, like chalky erasers and matte paint. Just typing that squicks me. There's a whole synaesthetic category of things like that that I avoid.   What level of contact were you hoping for? I put "any," and I stand by that. The first round I did, I had a low-contact Witch who was fantastic, and this round, I'm getting a much higher level of contact, and I have another fantastic Witch. I think you just have to focus on how much fun it is to have a Witchee, and let whatever you get from your Witch come as a happy surprise.   Your favorite restaurant or type of food to eat out. There is nothing for my area, but now that the Air and Space Museum is starting a new lecture series, I'll probably be in DC once a month or so with my best friend. I love trying new restaurants (as long as they're not seafood) and new cuisines. I also may go to Richmond or Williamsburg occasionally.   Are there any local museums/attractions you keep never getting around to going to? My local museums are the teensy tiny ones like the Mary Ball Washington Museum (which recently featured an exhibit from my church for its 200th anniversary) and the Fisherman's Museum.   Is there any kind of international candy you love or would like to try? Any besides licorice or things with nuts! Well, almonds are okay in small quantities and with toffee. I love trying foreign candy! Candy and drinks are the first things I check in grocery stores when I go abroad. I got all addicted to tarkun (why is this good? It's tarragon-flavored soda!), kvas (again, no idea what is appealing about this, but I like "yeast extract," (Marmite/Vegemite) so maybe it's not surprising), sbiten', and medovukha in Moscow.   What is something totally random (yes, that thing that just popped into your head) that hasn't been covered by any previous questions? It’s adorable!   Dry: As soon as it started to dry, it turned soapy; and then, it disappeared... Too bad.   Verdict: I’m disappointed by the limited throw of this perfume; however, it might still be a good idea for my soap-making hobby.

Even More Switch Witch Answers! (Pt 3)

October 30th   I may have found out that my grocery store has expanded their international food stuffs section quite a bit. If there was something different you were wanting to try that you can't seem to find anywhere, what would it be? I dont know!! I feel like we eat a lot fo different kinds of foods around here. but I am seriously down to try anything new that is vegan. Being vegan has allowed me to experience so many new things that I never would have tried before, so I am totally open minded!!   October 26th   What's on your list of formerly fun activities to reclaim, witches?? oh man, I gotta get back into the painting scene, which has ben encouraged largely by you sending me those awesome paints!! I used to read me for fun, too, which I would really be interested in starting again as books have always been a huge thing in my life. and I would like to have the discipline to write everyday again. (and thank you thank you thank you again for the awesome journal!!!! this really encourages me!)   As a Witchee, are you interested in clues to your Witch's identity? Sure! but this isn't really a huge thing to me. No, I'm not a huge pumpkin fan so please don't worry about this one!!   Going back to the question about winter wear, are there any colors you would prefer not to have? I'm more interested in "cool" tones than "warm tones" and usually veer away from neons. I do appreciate a sprinkle of color when paired with neutrals or as an accent but I'm usually not drawn to a solid orange, red, green (unless its olive or nearing brown), blue (unless its grey) etc. I do like turquoise, blue-green, etc but purple and purple-fuchsia family is a win.   October 14th     So I was at Uwajimaya the other day and saw Earl Grey Tea Chocolate and Cinnamon Chocolate. If you were my Witchee, would you be interested in trying something like that? HELL YES. I love Earl Grey and I am totally down to try new teas as I cannot/will not drink coffee. Switch Witch catch-up questions September 20-

September 20th   Would you like any ecotools makeup brushes? They're kinda one of my favorite things ever, and they're animal-friendly and the handles are bamboo. And to top it all off, they work really well for applying makeup. Maybe a nice eyeshadow brush. Other than that, I really don’t do any makeup that would require a fancy brush.   Do you like Legos? Especially mini-fig key chains, Lego block keychains, small Lego sets, etc? I like Legos as much as the next person, but I’m already more than set for keychains, and I’m currently storing a large plastic tub of my brother’s Lego sets in my basement, so unless it’s the absolute coolest Lego set in the world, I probably wouldn’t be interested.   Since the previous question about "what would you buy from the Lab if you had unlimited funds, etc" left WAY too much to the imagination with no limitations (my answer was pretty much BUY ALL THE THINGS!), what would you do if you found a $50 bill on the ground and a nagging voice in the back of your mind told you that you HAD to spend it on BPAL or else face Death. Also, say they had free shipping (LOL) so don't factor that in. What would you get? And spend it all! Or as close to $50 as you can get. Sprinklecake; Lemon-Scented Sticky Bat; and a random imp from my wishlist, I suppose, since I don't have any one in particular that springs to mind at the moment.   Are there any characters that you love or identify with? None come to mind at the moment.   A question! If you are crafty, what's your personal art style? I'm not talking just about what art you like to look at, but what kind of art do you like creating? Do you have a "process" while you're creating beauty? I make cards occasionally, but it takes me forever because I want to be sure that every thing is perfect – every stamped image is even in color, every colored portion is within the lines, all the glitter is exactly where it should be, etc. If I’m painting something, I usually use stencils to make sure the image looks how it’s “supposed” to look. I like simple graphics or patterns – I can’t do abstract or surreal. I’m trying to get back into cross-stitch, and again, I like that there’s a set pattern to it that I can follow so that it turns out exactly as I expect.   Are there any Arcana Weenies that you MUST HAVE? I’d really like to get Hobbedy’s Lantern, the perfume and the soap. Reign in Hell and Serve in Heaven sound nice, but there’s a note or two in each that stop them from being absolute MUST HAVES. I wouldn’t take a chance on tobacco and pumpkin in a perfume, but the Ghost Pumpkin soap sounds pretty good.     So what say you? IS an "unexpected" visit/in-person witching OK? I’m not very good at meeting new people one-on-one, because I get really shy and nervous. Give me sufficient warning and a chance to rope in a friend to accompany me (believe me, I suck at small talk, so we’d need someone who could break the ice and smooth over the awkward silences), and I’d be happy to meet for coffee or drinks or ice cream or even a meal.   Witches - speak to me of shower gels! What companies/scents do you recommend/prefer? I don’t use shower gels all that much; I prefer bar soap or scrubs/Smooches.   Is there something that you wish you could do, but you keep putting it off? So many things! I want to take a class to re-learn German and another to learn Japanese. I want to learn how to use the lathe I have in my basement. I want to finish the cross-stitch I’ve been working on since college (at least). I want to spend more time at the shooting range and get better at target shooting, and also get my own handgun. I don’t have much of a sense of history, so I might see something I really like the look of, but I probably wouldn’t know what era it was from, just that it was old.   If you like manga, comics, and/or graphic novels, what is it about them that you like, in general? The story, the art/style, etc? Both the story and the art/style. There are some manga I will read for the story even though the art isn’t what I’d like (Kimi ni Todoke, for instance) and some I will follow more for the art than the story (Gentleman’s Alliance), but ideally, both elements should be there. I’ll read pretty much any Punisher comic or graphic novel, but my favourites are the ones written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by Steve Dillon. That was the perfect combo for me. I’m always disappointed when the illustrations in a graphic novel don’t live up to the story, or even detract from it.   If you could choose a Smack, what would it have in it? I’ve got about one shower’s worth left of my current Smack, which is a mix of Spice Trade x2, Incense, and Vanilla Bean, and I’d definitely re-order that one again. I’d maybe substitute Red Woods for one of the Spice Trades next time, or maybe not. I’d also be interested in trying various combinations of Buttercream Cupcake, Candy Floss, Fresh Squeezed Citrus, Lemon Meringue, Limeade, Marshmallow, and Mint Medley, because those all sound good. Maybe a mojito Smack with Limeade and Mint Medley?   SockDreams y/n/already own most of the catalog? I try not to look so that I won’t be tempted! There’s some cute stuff there, but what I really want most are some pairs of bamboo crew socks in black, and they don’t have any of those, sadly.   Art prints/cards y/n/depends? Sure, why not?   if you could have a salon scent made, based on any artwork(s) what would it be? Sorry, I'm just not very good with the artwork-focused questions. I don't have any particular favorites - I'll see a painting and I might enjoy it while I'm looking at it, but my appreciation doesn't run much deeper than that.   Are you scientifically curious and/or process-oriented? Would you like a project-type gift that allowed you to do something like make soap from scratch, take and (nontoxic-ly) develop photographs using a pinhole camera, use plant dyes on yarn or fabric, etc.? Those sorts of things sound cool, but I doubt I’d actually take the time to follow through and do them, when I already have so many other unfinished projects sitting around waiting for me to work on them.   What's 'your' song/your theme song? I don’t think I have one. I kind of pick and choose favourite lyrics from a bunch of different songs, I guess.   What would be your superpower? People already mentioned a lot of great superpowers – I especially like teleportation, invisibility and mind reading – but I think I’d have to go with the ability to understand/read/speak any language.   Witchee, would you like a gently used BPAL tshirt? I think I’ve purchased most of the BPAL tshirts I wanted, but if I do some searching and find one I want and don’t have, I’ll update!   Question: Do you like homemade snack mixes? I know Puppy Chow was mentioned in a previous question, but what about healthier and more natural type snacks like granola or trail mix? You can put a lot of delicious and fun things into trail mix, yeah? If you say "Sure, I'd love some!" what kinds of things do you like/not like in those kinds of snacks, ie coconut flakes, raisins, certain nuts (allergies??), candy, etc. Give us your list of DO's and DON'Ts! No raisins or walnuts, and I’m not particularly fond of dried fruit of any kind. Peanuts are good, as are chocolate chips and butterscotch chips, and maybe some cashews.   Do you like charm bracelets? If you had a bracelet, what sort of charms would you want on it? Favorite hobbies, symbols, whatever? Charm bracelets are cute, but I’m not sure what charms I’d put on it. Color, style, texture, length? I’d rather have fingerless gloves that go just past the wrist, so I can wear them with long sleeves. I like jar candles, but I prefer votives and tealights because I can use them all up and not have to deal with finding a new use for an empty glass jar.   What's your favorite flavor? Sour, sweet, bitter, salty? Probably sweet, although a little bit of sour is good in a candy. Sweet and salty is good, too – I like chocolate covered pretzels a lot.   So, are there any online gaming witchees who covet purchasable in-game items or other gamer-y stuff? (yup, geek question) I’m not an online gamer.   Anyone doing anything cool for Mabon (or the start of fall, if you aren't pagan?) Going to the Motion City Soundtrack concert! That was more an accident of the date rather than a plan to celebrate Mabon, but that’s what I did on Mabon. Imma start sticking your questions in here just in case they get lost in the forums. Plus some things I just don't want to air to the whole thread.   So anyways, I dunno, pampering... I've never really thought about it, so I tried to put some real, extra thought in it today. I would say the things that would make me feel best, feel queenly, are things that make me -look- it. I know it may be conceited to say, but appearance actually means a lot, not just to me, and that's only a recent thing, but to other people. How you look is the first thing people notice.   And I've noticed in the past recent few days that if I -look- good, I feel better about myself. I feel maybe a little more confident, a little more sexy, a little more motivated. And maybe those little things will add up, give me that boost I need to go out and kick some ass. People are nicer to pretty people. Pretty people have better chances at getting jobs and other things. It's really sad, but it's true, that's what society pushes on us.   I guess that's why I've gotten this real sudden interest in things that would help me be pretty. I would kill for a day of shopping with a couple of my gal pals from high school, then hitting up some clubs and just forgetting the world and dancing and having fun, and then of course post some pics on FB of all that so W. can see and be jealous of how amazing I look and how much fun I can have without him! And I know that's totally mean and petty, and most of me would never want to stoop to that kind of revenge, but the hurt part of me wants to hurt back. But I always said I would never do anything to hurt him on purpose, so, sigh... But I guess there's nothing wrong with that plan, maybe just without the rubbing it in his face part.   I just want him to see me and think "WOW!" like you said, make him see what he might be missing out on. If I can project that image to my outward appearance, then maybe I can feel it on the inside too. I just need a huge boost of confidence and bravery. Does any of that help at all? Cuz I'm not really sure what "items" would do it. Nice clothes, shoes, sparkly, pretty, shiny things?   He notices -everything- too, I think that's a military thing, that annoying attention to detail. Though that attention to detail might have saved his life at one point so I can't be too annoyed at that. But he pointed out once that he saw 7 people in one day wearing the shoes I always wear. I'm like, yeah, they were 10 bucks at Target, I'm sure everyone has them. He notices clothes, all sorts of things like that and I swear he's more of a girl than I am when it comes to clothes and fashion. Granted, I'm not hugely up to date on that sort of stuff. I tend to stay basic and comfortable, but try and look good at the same time, which I guess is where I fail.   Have I mentioned that he's absolutely gorgeous? When we first met irl 6 year ago, I had no idea what he looked like, we never exchanged pictures and it just never occurred to me to ask, cuz I already loved him from everything else I knew about him. He was incredibly cute back then, but omg, now... But yeah.   I want to make him drool! To have naughty dreams about me! To beg for my attention and company!   ---   According to the parental unit, my birth time was 6:52 am. April 15th 1983. I assume still in Cincinnati, since that was where I grew up. Do you need anything else?
