Switch Witch Questions Fall '09

*What are everyone's favorite Halloween-y/Autumn-y/spooky movies? Are there any you don't own but would like to? - I really like my psychological horrors. And my gorefests. Seven or Thirteen Ghosts on DVD would be great... or any of the "classics", because I haven't seen most of them. Like, any of the Hannibal movies, or Children of the Corn, or Nightmare on Elm Street, or the Jason movies, or the... yeah, you get it. *Are roasted pumpkin seeds and home made chex mix the best fall snack foods, or what? - They are delicious, but I wouldn't say the best. *Whats your favorite pie, my dear SW's? - Oh, man, anything but cherry or blueberry. Top of the list is chocolate, apple, and pumpkin, though. *What kinda socks ar you wearing tonight? - My feet are naked. *Do you like socks? Blankets? Wrist warmers? Arm warmers? Headband? Shawl? Or what kind of knitted thing would you love the most? - Any and all, any and all. Well, I probably wouldn't use a headband because my hair's usually in a ponytail... a blanket for the main room would be nice, to sling over the back of the couch... *How do you feel about ghost stories? Do you like to tell the old tales around a campfire? Read true accounts on the web way past your bedtime? Do you like to pick up a good anthology of Poe stories on a blustery day? Or is all that too scary for you? - I love them all, especially ghost stories. *Who here is LOVING Warehouse 13? - Older sis loves it, but I haven't seen it. *Nother question! Coffee or Tea? - Both! But not at the same time. *Interested in locally produced products? Food, skincare or both?Olive oil? Lavender oils or soaps? - Any of that would be great. *Does anyone in here wear a lot of dangly earrings or collect pendants of all kinds?? How about hair clips or pony tail band things? - My earrings can't dangle too much because then the kids would get ticked off and rip them out, but little ones are good, as are pendants... hair things will have to be super strong because I have a lot of hair. *What is your favourite historical period? - Renaissance! *What other hot beverages everyone likes for fall? - Hot chocolate, mmm. *Did you order anything from the most recent update? - Not the most recent, but I'm in a Weenies decant circle. *Vampires or Werewolves? Or some other monster? - Werewolves all the way. *What sort of odd or regional foods do you crave? - Cajun, Indian, Mexican... anything spicy *Any Gamers here? What kind? Board games? RPG? Miniature? MMORPG? - Hell to the yeah. Magic: the Gathering, Munchkin, but mostly World of Warcraft. I have a level 70 draenei healadin who I am working hard to get up to 80. *Is anyone playing this round of SW into ABJ? (asian ball jointed dolls) - Not I. Do not need another expensive hobby. *What is your favorite Halloween icon? - Black cats. *Imagine that you're given a shoebox-sized time capsule, and you are asked to put any number of items in the box that symbolize who you are. The items can be may be anything you can imagine, and money is no object, but they must fit within the box. Which items do you choose? - Oh, hard one. I'd say... a sci-fi/fantasy novel, some sort of autism awareness symbol, a gay pride symbol, the stencils I made of symbols of lots of different religions, a World of Warcraft game card, my least favorite M:tG deck, and one of my decks of Tarot cards. *Are you involved in any long-term, ambitious project? something like decorating your house or saving for a trip to the other end of the world, for example. - Graduating! And getting into grad school. And moving the girl here. *Favorite kind or take out kinda burger? Whats your burger preference? Veggie,meat or ???? - Meat all the way. Backyard Burgers. *Whats your favorite childhood toy? - My childhood best friend and I did a lot of pretend play, so most of our toys were rigged together out of baling twine and sticks. *If you have a pet, what kind of gifts would be good for them? - Her Highness approves of Feline Greenies, catnip, ponytail holders, and crinkly paper. *Do you Tweet? What is your Twitter name? - No Tweets for me. *Are you on Ravelry? What is your Ravelry name? - I have no idea what this is. *Do you like pinup art/images? - I do! They're a classy brand of sexy. *What are your plans for Halloween? Have you made any yet? Do you have any traditions? - I'm between traditions right now. I'll probably go to the pub crawl with whatever friends are planning on attending, and maybe help roomie dress her spawn up for his first Halloween if she wants to. *Who are your BPAL forum buddies? You know, people I could conspire with to Witch you! - The girlfriend is on the forum and actually doing SW... sirensea. My witchee last round was ViolaVanWild, witch was judy28... coffee swap I sent to shackjj and received from dixiehellcat.. I've swapped and bought from a few other people, but those would be the ones that I had the most contact with, really. *What is your favorite color? - Indigo! *Any other steampunk fans/lovers? - I'm a fan, yes, and would like to be more exposed to it. *Describe your ideal picnic lunch. Where would you go? Who (if anyone, and yes there can be multiple people) would accompany you? What sort of food would you take? And, of course, if a picnic lunch sounds like a horrible idea, feel free to say so! - If I had plenty of bugspray... I'd want to go to the really NICE park in Springfield (Nathanael Green for anyone who knows the area), with a bunch of finger foods, the Boy, the Girl, the roommate, and possibly a couple of other friends. *You're in the kitchen at the end of a pay period and groceries are pretty scarce. Do you take the five ingredients you find first and make something fabulous, or do you order take out? - Um. Take out. I can barely make something fabulous when I have the recipe and all my ingredients. *If you could decorate/redecorate any 1 room in your home, what would it be and how would you decorate it? - I choose our porch, because everything else has been decorated to our liking. I'd like to hang some plants, and windchimes, and a few suncatchers, and maybe another little chair out there. *Any rabid sports fans out there? What teams do you root for? - Sports and I tend to avoid each other. *What's your favorite animal? (You can have more than one.) - Wolves! ...and cats, as mine is giving me the evil eye and I shudder to think what she would do if I didn't say she was my favorite. *This is how the world ends... zombie apocalypse, robot uprising, alien invasion, return of the elder gods... which doomsday scenario do you prefer (or make your own!)? - Ragnorak, baby. Bring on the great final war. *In the year 2525... if man is still alive... what sort of future do you imagine? (apologies to anyone who gets that song stuck in their head!) - Oh, we're probably just closer to blowing ourselves up. *Do you believe in magic (or magick, if you prefer)? What does it mean to you? - I do. It's a very personal thing for me. *If you found the puzzle box from Hellraiser, what would you do with it? ( and would you be able to resist playing with it? ) - I would probably pick it up, shake it, try to figure it out, and then lose interest when I failed and leave it for some other poor soul to find. *Any cooks? Could you use anything cooking related? Aprons? Cookbooks? Measuring Cups? Recipes? Herb/Spice containers? Fancy Spices? Dish Towels? Cocktail napkins? Amazing Beaded Pot Holders? (like from our very own Pottersville! ) Something else? - I could really use cookbooks. Or simple recipes. I'm trying to learn my way around the kitchen a little better and something that isn't too intimidating would be nice. Potholders would be great, too, since we're always losing ours. *Are you an avid reader? What's your favorite book/series? - I read all the time. I have a three way tie on favorites... I love anything by Tanya Huff, Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunner series, and Anne Bishop's Black Jewels Trilogy pretty much evenly. *What's your favorite candy to stock up on at Halloween? - Little miniature candy bars. *What are your phobias? - Spiders. And being closed in by people and not able to get to an exit. *What is your favourite flower (or plant)? - Honeysuckle. It used to grow right outside my window growing up, and I could smell it while I was sitting in my room reading. *Duct tape purses and wallets and things are pretty darned cool. Who else thinks so? - They're not really my style. It takes a certain type of person to pull them off and I'm not it. *An anonymous benefactor gives you $500 (or an equivalent amount of money in your currency of choice) with the following stipulations. You must spend all of it within a week: any money left unspent must be returned. You must spend at least half of the money on yourself. You may not use it to pay off debts or bills of any kind. What do you do with the money? - First I would upgrade my graphics card and a couple of other things on my computer. Then I would hire someone to come in and clean the apartment for me. The rest would go to buying things for the classroom, we need more dress up clothes for the kids. *Who likes coloring books? - I used to, but I can't color for very long without my hands hurting now. *Do you have a Good Reads profile? If so, make with the link! If you don't have one, go make one! - I do not, but I find myself intrigued by this. *What was your favouritest job ever, and why? - The one I'm currently working at now is my favorite... I'm a paraprofessional in an early childhood classroom where we work mostly with kids on the autism spectrum. It's something I can relate to very personally, I seem to have a knack for connecting with the kids, and there's no other job in the world where you get so much joy out of such simple things as a kid pointing to make a choice. I feel like I'm making a real difference, and I really love these kids... and I could babble about my job all day, so I'm going to stop now. *Which three albums would you take to your apocalypse bolt hole and how would you power the generator? - Oh, man... going to have to say at least one Iron & Wine album, probably Around the Well since it's longer than Woman King... Skunk Anansie's Paranoid and Sunburnt... and since I can't pick just one Tori Amos album, I'm going to skip on that and say the soundtrack of Spring Awakening. *What GC scent have you been putting off getting since it'll "always be there"? - ...see my wish list. I'd say Blood, out of all of them, is the one I always think 'I'll get it later'. *Super power? - Telepathy. It would be really useful in my line of work. magtongue.gif *If I send you whole spices or coffee beans, would you be able to grind them or would you prefer them preground for your convenience? - I can grind. I have the technology! *For the tea and coffee drinkers: Opinion on tea- and/or coffee-related accessories/etc? (Teaware, sugar crystals, infusers, tea chests, etc)How do you take your coffee (or tea)? Black or with cream and/or sugar? - Any kind of accessories would be welcomed! And I usually drink both with a little milk and sugar. Sometimes honey for the tea. *Restaurants you'd like a gift certificate to on Restaurant.com? - Gem of India is my faaaaavorite restaurant in the whole wide world. *In your perfect world it is chocolate and...? Alcohol. Mmmm Death By Chocolate margaritas. *How do you scent your home: tarts, reed diffusers, BPAL, candles? - Usually candles or incense. Sometimes I break out the oil burner, and I have a reed diffuser that never gets used. *What's your favorite dessert treat? Ice cream? Cake? Pie? Fudge brownie cake with pie flavored ice cream on top? - Chocolate cheesecake. All the way. *Do you believe we control our destiny, or does our destiny control us? - Genetics and the environment make us predisposed to react in certain ways to different stimuli, and thus most of our actions are predictable. However, we do have the free will to go against what we are most inclined to choose if we so wish, so I'd say it's both. (Sorry. We've been discussing this in one of my classes. magtongue.gif) *What one thing that is missing from your life would you like to have above all else? - I could use a few more hours in my day. In lieu of that, some relaxation. *Are you interested in things like home remedies for ailments, cleaning solutions, etc.? - Yes, definitely. Recipes and the actual product both. *If you do any kind of craft, could you use supplies? What kind? knitting needles, yarn, amazing fabric, pinking shears, cool thimbles or pincushins, jewelery making supplies, beads, etc.? - Not really into any crafts, but there are a couple I'm trying to dabble in... so... calligraphy supplies might help me practice my kanji for Japanese class more. And some strong cord to practice knotting. *What's your favorite pain-relief remedy or ritual? - Two extra-strength Tylenol and warm blanket. *Do sounds make you happy? What ambient noises make you smile? - Sounds either make me really happy or really on edge... I have near perfect pitch, and so anything out of tune grates on my nerves. I love the sound of wooden wind chimes, though, and rain on days when I can stay in... and the sound of a cat purring is one of the most soothing things in the world. *When you receive your SW packages...do you like receiving things that are individually wrapped inside? or unwrapped? or both? - I am happy with however you want to do it. However, crinkly paper makes my kitty very happy. *Of course, we're all going to be grateful no matter what our witches give us, but for the record, what is your anti-present? Tell us something that you think your future witch might give you that you absolutely, unequivocally DO. NOT. WANT. - I doubt this will be an issue, but anything overtly Christian-themed. To each their own freedom of religion, but I've had some bad experiences growing up in a very old-fashioned Christian household and anything that talks about the religion too much makes me feel a little uncomfortable. *What BPAL scent have you never tried but always wanted to? What scent have you tried and LOVED, and haven't been able to get more of and why? - My wishlist gives a pretty good account of this, but Blood is the one I always seem to just miss out on trying. And Black Lace is the one I will never get more of, lol. *I know we're all scent sensitive here. What are your favorite non-perfume smells? Day in the life stuff? - Rain on the concrete. Freshly brewed coffee. The kitchen right after it's been thoroughly cleaned. *Coffee drinkers, what types of beans to you like? Kona, Sumatra, Kenya..etc. How do you like them roasted? Do you like flavors, such as hazelnut, vanilla, etc. in your coffee? Any. And. All of the above. *Who has a birthday falling in this round? - Me! September 26th. I'll be 22. *For those of us who like chocolate, do you like anything /in/ your chocolate, like fruit, nuts, or for the more daring among us, chilies? - Yes please, to all of it! *Are there any childhood shows/movies/games/books/etc. that still hold a really special place in your heart? - Old school Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and The Magician as I mentioned above... Beauty and the Beast... Oh, Tamora Pierce books. Those and Robin McKinley's books were my favorite childhood reading that was actual... kids' books. *There has been a lot of talk about chocolate, but none about Candy! What is your favorite Candy? What candy do you hate? - Mmm, I'm a big fan of lollipops. Any kind. They're just so convenient. I'm not big on Jolly Ranchers (I know, I'm unAmerican), as they used to force feed those to us in elementary school whenever we got As on quizzes and such. Extrinsic motivators only work when you don't get them so often that you get burned out on them... *Do you have a Blu-Ray player? - No Blu-Ray here... but as soon as I find a used PS3 for sale somewhere... *Do you have any objections to receiving downloads? Is your internet connection fast enough for you to download large files like music easily? Are there any songs, albums, movies, or TV shows that you can't find/haven't been released that you want? - I have no objections to downloads (I'm of the mindset that if I like it well enough after listening I'll buy it to support the artist, and if not then I haven't wasted money, at least). My connection is fast enough, but the only thing I haven't been able to find is this old kids' series called The Magician that I used to LOVE. *What's something you're really looking forward to in the semi-near future? - I will join whoever else said birthday... my parents always come visit, and while that made going out to drink on my 21st difficult last year, it also means that they treat me to every single meal and buy me things. *Here goes my first attempt at a question: what fictional character do you most identify with and why? - I've been told that I'm a lot like Willow (BtVS). The first person to tell me this stated simply because I'd grown up in a religious household (though Christian, not Jewish) and then discovered I was really adept at witchy things... the girl concurs because (and I quote because I STILL haven't watched Buffy like I keep meaning to) "You just have the same... humor and goodness about that you that Willow has. You're good at puns. And you like blondes. And you're potentially evil." Take that as you will. *Could you use a 'travel' imp case? How many should it hold? - I could use one, yes... I'm using a travel container for soap right now! Usually something big enough for five or six would get me through a vacation. *As a witchee, would you prefer to have many little packages sent to you throughout the round with a not-so-big final package or fewer things throughout the round with one HUGE final package to seal the sweetness? - I'm fine with whichever suits my witch and his/her finances best. *What is your idea of the perfect evening at home? - Cat on my lap, girl on AIM, and guildies on WoW cracking jokes. *Are you on any social networks (MySpace, Twitter, LJ, Facebook, Bebo, etc)? If so, make with the links! Are you open to new friends? - I don't use my MySpace or Facebook a lot, but I'm Asafoetida on LJ as well, and I'm definitely open to some Switch Witchy friends. *How often do you update your wishlist? - Very irregularly. I just updated with the recent stuff, but I probably won't update it again until I have a reason. *May I help you fill out your costuming wardrobe (assuming you costume)? Are there articles you are seeking to enhance your a) Halloween costume, icon_cool.gif Renfest attire, c) Cosplay, d) Steampunk accouterment? - No real costume plans at the moment, but I wouldn't object to jewelry that fit Renfest attire or steampunk. *Who are your favorite artists/illustrators/art periods? - Linda Bergkvist is my all time favorite artist, but I also like pretty much any fantasy art. *Do you mind receiving used (in good condition, of course) CDs or DVDs? (I know this question was on the questionnaire about books, but I didn't see one for DVDs or CDs.) - Used CDs and DVDs are great! *what's your stance on cranberries? - We avoid each other. *Do you have a crush on anyone famous? Do you have a crush on any literary characters? Would you like fanfiction or fan art based on this/these people? - I'll be honest... I've had a crush on Severus Snape since I was a tween reading the first Harry Potter book, even before Alan Rickman was cast. It says a lot about me. I also possibly have a thing for Summer Glau, both as herself and as River and Cameron. If my witch wants to gift me with fanfic or fanart, I wouldn't object! *You're at home, or out, and you want a snack. Something that will get you through to the next meal, or through to the end of school or what ever. What do you grab? - Whatever's in the kitchen and looks good at the moment. Or right beside me. Basically, I snack at convenience. Chocolate, however, will be sought. *Your one absolute favorite, BPAL: - Blood Kiss. All the notes blend perfectly with my chemistry in a way that leaves people sniffing me and asking what I'm wearing all day. *Do you have a favorite BPAL bottle art? - At the moment, The Illustrated Woman! *if this was for you - what kind of box would you want? - Oh, man, anything really. Triple moons would be good, or something relating to my astrological sign - I'm a Libra sun, Scorpio moon, can't recall my ascendant at the moment... something related to the Tarot card Justice - scales and sword maybe... and om is something that seems to pop up in my life a lot... or if you want to go really geeky, symbols for WoW-ish things, especially paladin class. If you do go the box route, you might want to talk to my girlfriend first as she is making me something that has to do with stains and stuff... not that I couldn't use more than one! *Is there ONE scent that you are just dying for from the Halloween update? - Hellgate of Ireland, OMFG. I am on edge waiting to get my 'Weenie decants. *Are there any decants from the Halloweenies, Literary Vampires, Gris Grimly, or Hellboy that you would be interested in receiving? - Wishlist has been updated to include any that I haven't ordered decants of! And I will update again when I get and test the decants. *If you had the funds to comission an original painting for yourself, what would it be of? What would it be like- colors, size, style? - As I'm a dork, I'd probably have one done of one of my characters. Most likely the one who can change into a hyena, mid-shift. There'd be lots of browns and blacks, sand... and I'm not sure what to call the actual style, but something realistic. Something that looks like the cover of a fantasy novel. *What's autumn like in your neck of the woods? What do you love and/or hate about it? - Humid. Lots of deciduous trees, so there are a lot of leaves on the ground.Very rainy. And... I hate the humidity. *What's your favorite product(s) at Trader Joe's? - I have never been to Trader Joe's, but I wouldn't object to sampling some of the wares. *If you're caught in front of the tv, what are you watching? - Dollhouse. Or Eureka. *Any Amy Brown art fans? - Her stuff's pretty, but not really my style. *How do you feel about Halloween music? (mix CDs, what have you) - Yes please to any and all Halloween music. I have a spooky music playlist with things like Re: Your Brains on it, I love that kind of stuff. *Who else is reeeeeally looking forward to Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland? - Oo, oo, me, me! *Is there a store that you love which does not have a location near you (but that has a physical presence somewhere, not just online? Why do you love it so much? - I love the little stores on the beach near where the Girl's aunt lives... just all sorts of neat stuff that I've never seen anywhere else. I can spend hours in those stores, especially the pagany ones. This probably doesn't help my witch much unless s/he lives in an area with a lot of stores like that, but! *Lolcats....yeah or nay? - Yay lolcats! They're a good mood booster. *What is your favorite creepy folk story or legend? - Mine is Tailypo, which no one else I've ever talked to has heard of so I think it's mostly told around the Southeast Missouri area. I won't tell what it's about here, but trust me when I say it is creepy as heck when told right... and I lived in a folksy enough area that there were people who were near professional storytellers. *If your witch were to either write something for you or put together a collection of ghost stories, would you rather have it in writing, recorded as an oral telling, or both? - If my witch is a writer/storyteller, I would be happy with any of the above, really. I do love having things to read, but nothing beats having a ghost story or a folk tale told aloud by someone who has a talent for it. *For the crafty people out there: would you prefer something crafted or crafting supplies? - I am not crafty, but I always love hand-crafted things if my witch is! (P.S. - dixiehellcat, my gloves were put to good use today in helping supply heat to my poor, aching, abused fingers!!!) *Can you use pill boxes, a hard ID case, coin purse, etc? - Okay, so, I have an ID case that I've been using for years and is now falling apart... so I could definitely use a hard one! Especially one that perhaps has a keyring attached... *Any songs you are desperately into at the moment? - I've been listening to Regina Spektor's "Poor Little Rich Boy" and a few of the songs from Spring Awakening - "My Junk", "The Dark I Know Well", and "The Bitch of Living". I would be listening to the whole Spring Awakening soundtrack if it had all made it onto my mp3 player. *Does anyone have any symbols they consider to be personally significant or talismanic? - I think I mentioned earlier that om/aum is one that seems to be popping up in my life a lot. The pentacle tattoo that I share with sirensea. The triple moon. Basically anything I mentioned for the box. *Are there any Gods, Goddess, or other mythological figures of whom you're particularly fond? - Shiva. Big time Shiva, a friend did a reading on me once that resulted in Shiva being very important to me. Kali. And after conversations with an old professor, I've fallen into not quite worship but more like belief in a more primative, prehistoric goddess, especially in her cthonian aspect. *Super villain or vigilante? Which would you like to be? Which would you like to receive? - I'm more like a vigilante, really... I tend toward idealism, but at the same time I can't stand seeing something wrong but not trying to fix it. As for what I'd rather have... can I add a third option? I've always had a weakness for antiheroes. :swoon: *What mythical or fantastic race of creatures (dragons, unicorns, griffins, elves, dwarves, faeries, etc.) do you most identify with, and why? - I don't know if I'd say I IDENTIFY with them, but I've always been really drawn to dragons. I love the combination of intelligence and ability to step on you and crush you like a bug. And I've always really enjoyed the myths of dragons who transformed into humans, like Melusine - I'll admit, as a very strange little kid who never fit in at all, I had the occasional flight of fantasy that maybe I was a dragon and I just hadn't figured out how to change back. That actually has shown up in some of my writing, now that I think of it... *How do you feel about Dia de los Muertos? Are you interested in sugar skulls? Catrina (or other) skeleton figurines? - I don't feel that into Dia de los Muertos (not part of my cultural heritage so far as we know, though we wonder about my mom's dad sometimes...), but anything that includes sugar interests me. *Do you have a favorite poem or poet? - I've always liked Roethke, and my creative writing teacher for my poetry class introduced us to Kim Addonizio's "First Poem for You"... that one made a pretty deep impact on me. Oh, and there's one that I can't remember the poet's name, but I know the whole thing... "They say the Bible teaches fear of women, snakes,/And God, who killed his manchild for our sakes/and puts a mark beside our least mistakes/and beats us until our spirit breaks.//Must we believe his godly finger shakes/at Eve for every apple pie she bakes?/I'd rather take my chances with the snakes." Yeah. I wrote a huge paper on that poem, I love it so much. But I can't remember the poet. The poem is called Pro-Snake, I believe. *Are there any musicals you love? - What musicals don't I love? If I have to pick favorites, it'd be Repo!, Rent, Hairspray, Spring Awakening (just for the music and what I've read of the plot), and Cats. I just love musicals of all sorts, I blame it on the woman who gave me voice lessons being a Broadway nut and my mom for exposing me early. *Pirate or Ninja? - How can I chooooooose??? My Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster loyalties pull me toward pirates, but my love for the teenage mutant turtles says ninja. *Would you like to receive a Diva Box? - That or the Black Box thing would be good, I do like samples. *how broad is your musical taste? - Oh, boy... I like everything but country (classic or modern), rap, r&b, and most pop. I love hard rock/heavy metal, adult alternative, folk, some bluegrass, opera, Broadway, emo, indie, art songs, kids' music, Celtic, medieval, the occasional old gospel (Samson and Delilah, especially Shirley Manson's cover)... Witch, if you want to know more, let me know and I can try to put together some kind of playlist (or, heck, a Pandora station if you want to make an account with some anonymous email address) that's pretty representative. *Would a "gift" donation to one of the organizations/causes you support be a great gift, or a lame gift? - In a way... I'm not sure if this is possible, but I'd like a donation directly to Springfield Public Schools Early Childhood Special Education more than one to a bigger foundation, for sure, because some of the places that claim to be 'treating' autism are just bogus and it's kind of hard to know what's good unless you're kind of more aware of what's what. *I have seen a lot of Yankee Candles haters..... Halloween 09 round q&a catchup!

There has been a lot of talk about chocolate, but none about Candy! What is your favorite Candy? What candy do you hate? I'm otherwise a vegetarian but sometimes give in to the temptation of eating candy (that contains gelatine - i.e. making it not vegetarian). I love candy corn and the pumpkins made out of the same stuff. I'm also quite partial to Jelly Babes and that kind of candies. I don't really like hard candies, and I dislike anything with aniseed or ginger. Do you have a Blu-Ray player? No. Do you have any objections to receiving downloads? Is your internet connection fast enough for you to download large files like music easily? Are there any songs, albums, movies, or TV shows that you can't find/haven't been released that you want? No objections. I don't really download TV shows or movies, though, mostly just music. Internet connection is fast enough to deal with them. Are you interested in things like home remedies for ailments, cleaning solutions, etc.? Sure! I'm interested in natural remedies, and try to buy ecological cleaning products etc. whenever possible. Everything needs to be safe to use around cats, though. If you do any kind of craft, could you use supplies? What kind? knitting needles, yarn, amazing fabric, pinking shears, cool thimbles or pincushins, jewelery making supplies, beads, etc.? I already talked about this in my questionnaire but I love card making supplies! Especially clear stamps, embellishments of all kinds (especially Prima-style paper flowers), mica-based watercolours, pretty papers and cardstock etc. I also make jewellery but I have loads of beads and other supplies. Do sounds make you happy? What ambient noises make you smile? Music does. And the noises my cat makes, she's very talkative. When you receive your SW packages...do you like receiving things that are individually wrapped inside? or unwrapped? or both? I love when everything is individually wrapped. Unwrapped is absolutely fine, too, though! Of course, we're all going to be grateful no matter what our witches give us, but for the record, what is your anti-present? Tell us something that you think your future witch might give you that you absolutely, unequivocally DO. NOT. WANT. Anything with meat/poultry or fur. And in b&b products, anything that smells of earth or dirt. What BPAL scent have you never tried but always wanted to? What scent have you tried and LOVED, and haven't been able to get more of and why? Given this is a BPAL forum, this is probably strange but I'm kind of not that into BPAL anymore... I still love wearing the scents I have but I can't keep up with all the new scents that are coming out, and have never been into rares. Champagne & Roses is one I really liked when I got to sniff it so that would be one I guess. I know we're all scent sensitive here. What are your favorite non-perfume smells? Day in the life stuff? Cat's fur. Baking smells - mmm, pie! And I love the smell in the air after fireworks (although I wouldn't wear it as a perfume!). Coffee drinkers, what types of beans to you like? I don't drink coffee. Who has a birthday falling in this round? Not me, I'm an April baby. For those of us who like chocolate, do you like anything /in/ your chocolate, like fruit, nuts, or for the more daring among us, chilies? Yeap, all of the above. And also fondant-type centres in chocolates, like strawberry filling. Oh, and peanut butter. Are there any childhood shows/movies/games/books/etc. that still hold a really special place in your heart? The Very Hungry Caterpillar. If I send you whole spices or coffee beans, would you be able to grind them or would you prefer them preground for your convenience? And sugar crystals sound good. I drink black tea with milk and sugar and other varieties with just sugar or sweetener. Some kind of a storage jar for keeping my basic black tea bags might be nice. What was your favouritest job ever, and why? I loved working as a publicity & communications officer at a small charity. Yes, although for the past goddess knows how many years I've mainly been reading study related stuff... I love Alice Sebold's books, Gaiman's Neverwhere, Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series (my guilty pleasure), autobiographical accounts of people's experiences in psychoanalysis/psychotherapy. What's your favorite candy to stock up on at Halloween? I don't get trick or treaters here so I don't stock up really, but I always keep chocolate for any chocolate related emergencies. What are your phobias? I used to be phobic of spiders but I'm a lot better about it now. I still don't like anything spider related, though (although a picture of a small, cute spider on a Halloween card is absolutely fine!). I also have emetophobia - fear of vomiting/of others vomiting. What is your favourite flower (or plant)? Roses. Duct tape purses and wallets and things are pretty darned cool. Who else thinks so? They're not really very "me" at all, no. An anonymous benefactor gives you $500 (or an equivalent amount of money in your currency of choice) with the following stipulations. You must spend all of it within a week: any money left unspent must be returned. You must spend at least half of the money on yourself. You may not use it to pay off debts or bills of any kind. What do you do with the money? Some really good quality clothes for sure, and probably crafty items and probably a gift for my mum. Who likes coloring books? Well, I like to colour in rubber stamped images with mica based watercolours... so maybe that counts. You're in the kitchen at the end of a pay period and groceries are pretty scarce. Do you take the five ingredients you find first and make something fabulous, or do you order take out? I usually have something homecooked in the freezer. Or I might get a take-away pizza, naughty naughty me... If you could decorate/redecorate any 1 room in your home, what would it be and how would you decorate it? I would definitely do up the bathroom with the walls and floor tiled with new tiles, a huge mirror and shelves, and some black/dark burgundy accessories and decorations. Oh hai Witchy! You are a saint for wading through all this self-indulgent prattle... Who are your favorite artists/illustrators/art periods? I am a sucker for Japanese block prints, ukiyo-e - Hiroshige and Hokusai, anything involving the sea, snow or rain... I love botanical prints, and old advertising posters - especially Chicago/Columbian Exposition & railway travel posters like this. My favorite painting, I think, is Breton's The Song of the Lark. When we lived in Chicago & had an Institute membership, I would go to the museum just to visit it. It's much bigger than the link really captures - big enough to get lost in. I love the light, the colors, that look of rapt attention, how the girl is completely transported, however briefly, away from work & hardship by the liquid twitter of the lark... I also adore the book, for what it's worth Cranberries? Oh yes. In all shapes, sizes & formats! Do you mind receiving used (in good condition, of course) CDs or DVDs? As long as it's playable, I actually prefer used - the bulk of our extensive collection of music & movies is second-hand. Do you have a crush on anyone famous? It may well smell like utter fail on me, but the association with my childhood is too strong to not at least try to find it... Are there any decants from the Halloweenies, Literary Vampires, Gris Grimly, or Hellboy that you would be interested in receiving? I have a few Weenies on my wishlist, yes... What's autumn like in your neck of the woods? What do you love and/or hate about it? Autumn in PA is actually pretty nice - it's a long, slow slide into winter, unlike Chicago (2 weeks between tropical heat & bone-chilling cold). We live in a part of the state that does a lot of harvest festivals, corn mazes, pick-your-own apples, and the like. We're just on the edge of the Appalachian foothills, so there are lots of nice rolling hills that showcase the changing leaves - if we get a sudden cold snap, the colors really pop. The weather fluctuates a lot, so I'll have both my wooly socks and my floaty summer skirts in rotation for a while. I love when the nights get chilly - lots of folks have backyard firepits/chimenias around here, and there's nothing like the smell of maple wood smoke Trader Joe's? I'm more of a Treasure Island kind of girl... anyone? Any Amy Brown art fans? Cute, but ultimately not quite my style... How do you feel about Halloween music? (mix CDs, what have you) Gads, no. I worked FAR too long in retail to enjoy seasonal music, as a whole. Who else is reeeeeally looking forward to Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland? I am conflicted. The promo pictures look freakishly over-processed - I hope it's not that garishly CG... Now, Where the Wild Things Are, on the other hand... Is there a store that you love which does not have a location near you (but that has a physical presence somewhere, not just online? Why do you love it so much? Cost Plus/World Market! Imported goodies, pick-your-own 6-packs, really interesting Christmas decorations, no-brainer last-minute gifts... Mitsuwa, Patel Brothers, all the great ethnic stores in Chicago... If you're caught in front of the tv, what are you watching? Very unlikely, but on the rare chance I get the TV to myself, it's very likely LotR - either the movie or the Making Of documentaries. @#^&%#$* emoticons...... Is there ONE scent that you are just dying for from the Halloween update? I'd say Boo but I'm in an awesome arrangement to get some sent my way. So, my answer is Lambs-Wool. I dismissed it originally but reading the reviews is making it look better and better. Also, I have a decant of Pumpkin V on its way to me but I'm expecting to love it and need a bottle. Leftover Weenie decants? Sure! I'm pretty much anything on my wishlist. Lambs-Wool, Mircalla, Countess Karnstein, Pumpkin IV, Feeding The Dead, Falling Leaf Moon, Trevor Bruttenhelm... all things I'd love to get decants of. any amy brown art fans? ME! If you're caught in front of the tv, what are you watching? Probably the food network. I love shows like Top Chef (I know that's a Bravo show) or Chopped or those awesome cake challenges... I also like NCIS and CSI but I've watched those so much I can usually tell what episode it is in the first 30 seconds. lolcats....yeah or nay? sure. They're funny and cute sometimes but I don't look at them everyday. if your witch were to either write something for you or put together a collection of ghost stories, would you rather have it in writing, recorded as an oral telling, or both? either, both... Well, here in MD we usually have a few weeks of nice, fall weather then it freezes. I love those beautiful, cool fall days where you can just look up at all the trees changing color and breathe in the fresh air. I like it cool enough for a sweatshirt, but not cold enough for a heavy coat. What's your favorite product(s) at Trader Joe's? never been there. For the crafty people out there: would you prefer something crafted or crafting supplies? either Can you use pill boxes, a hard ID case, coin purse, etc? sure! I think there are some little coin case/pill box things on my etsy wishlist... Does anyone have any symbols they consider to be personally significant or talismanic? phoenixes. And to a lesser extent, butterflies (the yellow and black ones you sometimes see.) What mythical or fantastic race of creatures (dragons, unicorns, griffins, elves, dwarves, faeries, etc.) do you most identify with, and why? phoenixes, I don't really know why. there's just something about them. Do you have a favorite poem or poet? I have a book of poetry by a Vietnamese woman who wrote poetry in a time very few women were educated. Those poems are so beautiful to me. Favorite musicals? Avenue Q, Evita, The Phantom of the Opera Which of the seven deadly sins is most likely to be your undoing? Hmmmm, I'd say lust but I don't think it really fits. Sloth maybe? I have seen a lot of yankee candles haters..... personally i like yankee candle (some of them, anyway). do you or don't you, and if not, what candles do you like? this assumes you like candles. otherwise, what specific home fragrance do you use? I don't recall ever using a Yankee candle. I'd love to give them a try. I am on an origami crane kick recently, so I wonder if anyone will be interested in origami crane earrings, origami crane in a glass vial (~1.2cm wide) phone charm/pendant or just a container filled with cranes of different sizes. sounds awesome! Sock dreams? I've never ordered anything from them but I really want to! Would you like to receive something of this nature from your witch? black box/diva boxes *shrug* I'm kind of indifferent about it. Who wants hair pretties?(headbands, barrettes, pony-o's, scrunchies, bobby pins, hair clips, etc) I'd love some of those things. My hair is still pretty short right now (shoulder length) but I'm growing it out. Though my hair is very fine and thin so keep that in mind. Hair sticks have never worked for me (maybe I'm just doing it wrong?) And my hair just slides right out of a lot of clips and stuff. Do you mind artificial colors in your food artificial colors are fine, no artificial sweeteners please. How do you feel about clothing/accessories made from animals? fur and feathers kinda squick me. leather is okay though. How do you deal with stress? What's your favorite way to unwind? Chilling out and watching something mindless with a good cup of coffee. Or reading the forum. Being on here always makes me feel good. Alcohol: none for me thanks. Favorite Cookie: cream cheese chocolate chip. But, in chocolate chip in general. Especially the soft chewy ones. Tracking number?: yes please! I love to stalk! Buuuut, if my witch chooses not to give me one that's okay. Lusting after BPTP stuff? That Pumpkin Pie Bath Oil looks awesome! and Knock-a-Dolly atmo. spray... I want a shirt. I particularly like the triple dagger one. If I was buying it for myself I'd get an XL babydoll. Also, the triple dagger yoga pants. Again, if I was buying it for myself I'd probably guess a large. Do you wear lip gloss/lip balm? If so, what flavors/scents? YES! Love lip glass, lip balm, all that. The only flavor/scent I would not like is licorice. (Does licorice lip glass actually exist?) Everything else is okay. Would you object to annonomous postcards (real ones) from your witch before the big reveal??? That would be super awesome! If I were your witch, and I wanted to make you a spell or mojo bag, would you be into that? And, if you were, would you want it for something like love, prosperity or luck? Or would you want it for a certain element? Or would you want it for something more personal- and what might that be? Something for good luck I suppose. That's always good. What is one thing you constantly keep with you that you constantly loose? I always keep my cell phone with me. As silly as that sounds. And I'm always loosing chapsticks. What are your favorite fruits? Mmmmmm, fruit. I love me some fruit. Strawberries, oranges, apples (the tart green ones are best), pineapples, grapes (again the green ones are best), pears... the list goes on... Do you like Villainess soaps? What are your favorite scents? YES! see my 'other companies" wishlist for scents... Do you collect new/used stamps? Will you like to get stamps on your mails? I don't collect them but my grandmother does. Any pretty stamps sent my way will be admired by me then given to her. For you tea drinkers, are you partial to tea bags or loose tea? How about tea paraphernalia? Tea isn't really my thing usually but when I do drink it it's just bags. I would be lost with anything else... I was wondering how you feel about burned DVDs. And do you have/want Repo? Burned cds/dvds don't bother me. A lot of my friends have recommended Repo to me (actually, it was more like: ZOMFG! youhavetoseerepoomgitssogoodyoudloveit!!!!!!!! ) So, I'd give it a try, lol. Talismans/familiars? New round of Switchwitchery means new questions...

...and answers. So here is the first round of Fall 09 questions I'm trying to catch up, well before the round even begins! What are everyone's favorite Halloween-y/Autumn-y/spooky movies? Are there any you don't own but would like to? Hmmm...I don't know...I like spooky but not much real horror as it is usually too gory for me. I guess I'm pretty much covered on this. Are roasted pumpkin seeds and home made chex mix the best fall snack foods, or what? I could eat the roasted pumpkin seeds, but chex mix (which is delicious) would send my blood sugar soaring, so, no thanks. Whats your favorite pie, my dear SW's? I love pie, but it's another of the things diabetics (and people who are seriously close to being diabetic, like me) shouldn't really eat. That said, my favorites are coconut cream, raspberry or blackberry, and raspberry rhubarb. Oh, and lemon cream too. Oh there were so many. I find pie much preferable to cake. What kinda socks are you wearing tonight? No socks...not cold enough yet. Actually, I pretty much only wear socks when I'm wearing boots, which would mean out of the house. Otherwise, wooly slippers do the trick. And wooly flip flops, which I'm wearing now. Do you like socks? Blankets? Wrist warmers? Arm warmers? Headband? Shawl? Or what kind of knitted thing would you love the most? I love socks, though, see above, I only wear them when I'm out of the house. Don't let that stop you from thinking of them as a possibility though--I've been very very envious of those getting sock dream gifts or, even better, hand knit socks! But I'm even more interest in arm warmers. Or gloves. But really, if someone was hand knitting something for me I'd be delighted by anything. How do you feel about ghost stories? Do you like to tell the old tales around a campfire? Read true accounts on the web way past your bedtime? Do you like to pick up a good anthology of Poe stories on a blustery day? Or is all that too scary for you? I LOVE ghost stories, esp. true ones. My last Witch was Kristana, the ghost hunter (ok, paranormal investigator) and she sent me her book, which I read straight through right away. Who here is LOVING Warehouse 13? Haven't watched it yet, but maybe it is time. Nother question! Coffee or Tea? Both, but at the moment, coffee would get more use. Love it. Dark roast. whole bean. Flavors? No nuts. But cinnamon or some other spice, or vanilla, or chocolate would be lovely. Interested in locally produced products? Food, skincare or both? Sure! Does anyone in here wear a lot of dangly earrings or collect pendants of all kinds? How about hair clips or pony tail band things? Pendants, yes. I love dangly earrings but can't remember the last time I wore earrings, so they probably wouldn't get much play. What is your favourite historical period? This one. Hmmm....I'm not interested in historical periods per se, but history does interest me, esp. American history. What other hot beverages everyone likes for fall? Cider is delish. Did you order anything from the most recent update? Not yet. But I know there is stuff I want. I will probably order some weenies, but in case my witch is feeling flush and wants to send me some, I'll update my wishlist by indicating which ones I'm likely to order or have ordered. Olive oil? Oh yeah. And flavored vinegar. Yum. Lavender? No. Well, that means I don't like it in fragrance. I like it as a seasoning, and I love fresh lavender, like if my witch wanted to somehow miraculously send me a real lavender plant through the mail I would with great delight plant it in my herb garden. Dried lavender sprigs are saved for purpose magical and mundane. But I hate the way it smells in perfume. Vampires or Werewolves? Or some other monster? Oh...zombies. One of these days I will buy the zombie survival guide (or won't--it may be one of those things I want but never buy). I like werewolves if they are really creatures that turn into wolves. Any Gamers here? What kind? Board games? RPG? Miniature? MMORPG? I like board games. RPG and MMORPG are fun but I'm not playing any now unless unicreatures counts. Imagine that you're given a shoebox-sized time capsule, and you are asked to put any number of items in the box that symbolize who you are. The items can be may be anything you can imagine, and money is no object, but they must fit within the box. Which items do you choose? A fox fetish and an owl fetish. a book of my poetry (it might bit folded, but...). Photos of my dogs. a black leather glove. Frankincense and copal resin. The Voodoo Tarot of New Orleans. Feathers. A mix CD. A bit of dirt from the Santuario at Chimayo NM. Are you involved in any long-term, ambitious project? Too many. Since I'm a writer, there are so many on-going projects: a memoir. A collection of short stories. And this year I'm going to do nanowrimo since I have not one but two genre novels to try out. Also I'm learning to sew and play the djembe and paint with acrylics. My life is a work in progress! Is anyone playing this round of SW into ABJ? I love looking at pics of them, and have to admit a desire to have one, but probably won't ever get one. favorite kind or take out kinda burger? whats your burger preference? veggie,meat or ???? I love burgers. My fave are from a local bar, called the black and blue burger: blackened burger with blue cheese. I prefer gourmet burgers. Whats your favorite childhood toy? stuffed animals, books, a simple bouncy rubber ball, and my bike. If you have a pet, what kind of gifts would be good for them? My dogs would love gifts, but the German Shepherd shouldn't eat grains, though the other two can. Kai would love a bouncy ball. The shibas would love anything, but don't need anything, and will be seriously interested in any packages whether it includes anything for them or not. Do you Tweet? What is your Twitter name? No. I think it would annoy me. Are you on Ravelry? What is your Ravelry name? I don't knit. Would any witches be interested in home-made sewn type crafts? If so, what type? (e.g. tote bags, pillowcases, laptop covers, etc..) I love homemade stuff, and anything my witch wanted to come up with would be mightly appreciated. I could use a couple more Tarot bags, probably.

What GC scent have you been putting off getting since it'll "always be there"? Several, actually. Antique Lace. Troll. White Rabbit. March Hare. And there are the ones I haven't even tried yet... Are you interested in things like home remedies for ailments, cleaning solutions, etc.? Sure! In your perfect world it is chocolate and...? Chocolate is kind of "meh" for me...I enjoy it but don't crave it. But I like it with caramel. Or peanut butter. How do you scent your home Tarts, reed diffusers, BPAL, candles? Candles, kind of, meaning I always need them and like scented ones, but I don't rely on them for scent. I use incense and BPTP (and other) atmosphere sprays.

*Could you use a 'travel' imp case? How many should it hold? I have one, but I could use another. It only needs to hold about 6 imps. I'm crazy about little containers in general.... *As a witchee, would you prefer to have many little packages sent to you throughout the round with a not-so-big final package or fewer things throughout the round with one HUGE final package to seal the sweetness? I'm fine with whatever works for my witch. *What is your idea of the perfect evening at home? After a good dinner with the BF, a good book, and me curled up on the couch with Toby, my dog, sleeping on the back of the sofa. With a good beer. *How often do you update your wishlist? - Not as often as I should. As of this date, my dear witch, I have not updated them, and my BPAL wishlist in particular is out of date. I will do it in the next couple of days. *May I help you fill out your costuming wardrobe (assuming you costume)? Are there articles you are seeking to enhance your a) Halloween costume, Renfest attire, c) Cosplay, d) Steampunk accouterment? Haitian, African, Mexican and Native American. I love artists with a folk art feel. FALL 2009 switch witch questions & answers!

some additional information about merveilleuse! i loooove leggings and tights. i am usually a size Small in these types of things. solid, fishnet, colored... i love 'em all! i adore scarves (it's cold in MN, yo!) i love any sort of lip balm or gloss. i love crunching leaves on the sidewalk in autumn. i love apple orchards. i love being cozy, and smelling woodsmoke, and sitting by a fire. i love anything ginger flavored or scented. i love citrus, especially lemon and lime! What was your favouritest job ever, and why? sappy, but perhaps it would be my ushering job. super easy, and i met my boyfriend there. we were just young scampering ushers at the time. me in high school, him in college. sigh! Wishlists I have removed those on my bpal list that i have tried but as i am preggers i would appreciate not geting anything from that list. I updated the amazon one recently but i think i was in pregancy hunger brain when i did so. i should prolly go throw some baby stuff on it soon though. There has been a lot of talk about chocolate, but none about Candy! What is your favorite Candy? What candy do you hate? I love haribo gummi bears and cola gummies. I am also very fond of the haw candies i can get at the asian market along with the fruit gummies i get there like the muscat ones. Do you have a Blu-Ray player? nope Do you have any objections to receiving downloads? Is your internet connection fast enough for you to download large files like music easily? Are there any songs, albums, movies, or TV shows that you can't find/haven't been released that you want? i dont neccesarily object i just would prefer not because if i really really had wanted it that bad i would have gotten it myself. I do like mix cd's though. What's your favorite pain-relief remedy or ritual? Well for migraines i take a can of dew and knock myself out in a dark room Do sounds make you happy? What ambient noises make you smile? some sounds do. i like rainfall when i'm not out in it and thunder at a distance. on the other hand the sound of white noise drives me bonkers. When you receive your SW packages...do you like receiving things that are individually wrapped inside? or unwrapped? or both? I can go either way on this. just as long as there is some communication. ya know a e-card to show that i did get assigned someone. Switch Witch Answers - Fall 2009

Do you like socks? Blankets? Wrist warmers? Arm warmers? Headband? Shawl? Or what kind of knitted thing would you love the most? Yes, yes, yes! The one thing I cannot live without is my couch blanket! Literally, I sit on the couch with a blanket year-round. I'm also a big fan of socks, gloves, and scarves. How do you feel about ghost stories? Does anyone remember that grade school book fair staple Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark? Man I loved that book. The scary axe murderer in the backseat, the babysitter getting phone calls from inside the house, dying of fright in a graveyard.... That's good stuff. Coffee or Tea? I drink my weight in tea every day. I'm a huge fan. I like coffee too, but I only drink decaf. Olive Oil? I use a lot of olive oil Lavender? Oh yes please. Does anyone in here wear a lot of dangly earrings of collect pendants of all kinds?? How about hair clips or ponytail band things? I like earrings, dangly included. I also use a lot of hair things like clips and bands. I have a lot of hair! What is your favorite historical period? I'm drawn to the Civil War period, mostly because I am fascinated by the history. I read Shelby Foote's massive set of Civil War history books, and loved every minute. Once I tagged along on my husband's business trip to DC, and drove myself to almost every battlesite on the East Coast. This is impressive because I suck something fierce at navigation! Vampires or Werewolves? Hmmm. Werewolves kinda scare me. Seems like you could reason with a vampire. Therefore, vampires. Any gamers here? Absolutely. I am a video game junkie. I love RPG style games with a great story. Some of my favorites are the Tales Series (Symphonia, Vesperia, ect) and anything by BioWare (KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect). I like a good mushroom and swiss burger. Actually, my favorite fast food sandwich ever was the Hardee's Hot Ham and Cheese, but we don't have any Hardee's restaurants here anymore. Favorite childhood toy? Transformers! My first crush ever was on Optimus Prime, and the modern movies just break my heart because they changed a lot of my favorite things. I was also a huge fan of She-Ra. If you have a pet, what kind of gifts would be good for them? I have two dog-sons, Brutus J and Oliver. Cool collars are always good, and those really tough Kong toys. Oliver can skeletonize a regular toy in 3 minutes flat. Also, we are forever having to get their name tags remade, because the cheapo ones just get scratched up so easily. If you could redecorate one room in your home? Actually, we are currently converting a spare bedroom into a swanky little wine room/den. The walls are plum-colored, we have two cool camel-colored recliners, and we just found a killer deal on two wine refrigerators. We're looking for all types of wine-themed stuff to finish it off. Any rabid sports fans out there? What teams do you root for? YES! I am a huge college football fan. I just watched my beloved Sooners lose their opening game. I'm also huge into college basketball. Like when it's just barely spitting rain and you have to walk somewhere outside. I'm also pretty claustrophobic. Well, I'm not sure about the whole world, but I'm pretty sure one of these days the US is going to get wiped off the map when that Yellowstone volcano erupts. In the year 2525... if man is still alive... what sort of future do you imagine? Hmmm. I tend to believe that old cliché the more things change, the more they stay the same. In 500 years time, there will no doubt be a million fantastic new advances in medicine, technology, transportation, ect. I think there's a good chance that humans will be living longer, and perhaps looking much more bionic. Buildings will keep getting bigger and taller. Maybe some of us will even be living in space. And could someone please invent the flying car already? But it's also inevitable that big leaps forward will bring new challenges and troubles that we can't even fathom yet. Maybe the longer lifespan of humans will make planet overcrowding a major problem, or will introduce new late manifesting diseases (like heart disease to us, for instance). On the outside it will be different, but I think the struggles of humanity will always follow a recognizable pattern. Do you believe in magic (or magick, if you prefer)? What does it mean to you? I think the fact that we exist on this planet is magic. I think the fact that this planet exists in our universe is magic. On a smaller scale, I feel like being in the exact right place at the exact right time to meet my husband was magic. Yes, I definitely think it's all around us. Wrapping is cool, but I'd never begrudge anyone for not doing it! What fictional character do you identify most with and why? Although not incredibly original, mine is probably Hermione Granger. I love learning, and I have a tendency to look at every situation from an academic standpoint. I also have a tendency to be an ego-trip know-it-all sometimes. But I'm fiercely loyal to those I love, and I would probably do just about anything for anyone, regardless of what it cost me personally. Could you use a 'travel' imp case? How many should it hold? Yes, that would be great! I usually have around 5-6 imps in my purse at any given time. Do you have a blu-ray player? No What's something you're really looking forward to in the semi-near future? We're going to Las Vegas in December, and I'm bursting at the seams to get back there. We used to go multiple times a year, but it's been over a year since our last trip. What was your favoritest job ever, and why? I actually haven't had a lot of jobs in my life. I worked in my mom's accounting firm in high school (HATED that), at a mall shoe store during college (lot of bad memories from that), as a nuclear medicine technologist out of college, and now in radiation safety. I guess in a pure sense, I liked the nuc med job best, but couldn't deal with all the hospital bureaucracy garbage. I don't have a lot of ancillary junk with the radiation safety job, but I really miss working with patients. *Shrugs* Are there any childhood shows/movies/games/books/ect. that still hold a really special place in your heart? I adore the bath oil, but the perfume is rare and tough to find. As a witchee, would you prefer to have many little packages sent to you throughout the round with a not-so-big final package or fewer things throughout the round with one huge final package to seal the sweetness? I like the idea of little gifts along the way, but I'll honestly be happy with whatever my Witch wants to do! Who are your favorite artists/illustrators/art periods? I'm a big fan of Munch, Klimt, Picasso, and DaVinci's journal sketches (Vitruvian Man, ect.). Also, we visited St. Petersburg, Russia this summer, and I was completely blown away by the art there. Not so much the traditional art in the Hermitage (although standing in front of so many Rembrants was pretty amazing), but the mosaic art in the churches. The Church on Spilled Blood just sucked the breath right out of my lungs when we walked in. My house is full of art by one of my high school friends who is a pretty prominent local artist here. I love supporting local artists! Do you believe that we control our destiny, or does destiny control us? Both. I think that we make tons of decisions each day – from as trivial as what to eat for lunch to as important as whether to ask someone on a date - that represent us controlling our own destiny. Those decisions then branch out over and over (the food that you ate gave you food poisoning which caused you to miss work which caused you to get fired), which is destiny controlling us. What one thing that is missing from your life would you like to have above all else? I'm actually pretty lucky in that I don't feel like there is a lot missing in my life. I guess I'd like to have a better relationship with my sister. We were so close as kids, and for some reason grew worlds apart as adults. What GC scent have you been putting off since it'll “always be there”? I've been meaning to buy bottles of Snake Oil and Golden Priapus for ages. What is your idea of a perfect evening at home? My husband and I have a ritual on Friday nights. We get a nice wine, cook a nice dinner, and spend the evening watching something fun on TV with a warm little buzz going on, knowing that we don't have to go to work for two days. I look forward to it all week. How often do you update your wishlist? I've been trying to update it pretty regularly (once or twice a week). I have also really gotten into Fringe, as I have been mourning the X-Files for about 7 years now. How do you feel about Halloween music? Mmmmm... Not really a huge fan. Who else is reeeeeally looking forward to Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland? I'm not a movie person, but this actually looks pretty good! I will pretty much see any movie with Johnny Depp, because I think he's scrumtrulescent. Lolcats....yeah or nay? I hate to admit it, but I find some of these to be quite hilarious. For the crafty people out there: would you prefer something crafted or crafting supplies? I love handcrafted things! I used to be really into quilting, but I just don’t have a lot of time to do it anymore due to school commitments. So sadly, craft supplies would be wasted on me right now. Do you have a favorite poem or poet? I’m a huge fan of poetry, with Pablo Neruda being my favorite. In lieu of songs, I had two of his poems read at my wedding: Sonnet XVII (I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz…) and Sonnet LXIX (Maybe nothingness is to be without your presence…). Oh how I love him. My other favorites include George Gordon Byron, Edna St. Vincent Millay and e e cummings. One of my very favorite poems is The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. I read it in high school, and have been captivated by it ever since. Can you use pill boxes, a hard ID case, coin purse, etc? Yes, coins are forever rattling around in the bottom of my purse! Any songs you are desperately into at the moment? I just discovered Regina Spektor (not sure why it took me so long), and I am really into Sampson right now. Would you like to receive something of this nature (sweet diva boxes) from your witch? Sure! Super villain or vigilante? Probably vigilante. I just don't have any desire for world domination, but I could probably get behind handing out some justice. Pirate or Ninja? Definitely ninja! I mean, I did skulk around here for a year and a half without posting... I like to be stealthy. Does anyone have any symbols they consider to be personally significant or talismanic? Math symbols (infinity, pi, phi, ect.) are a huge part of my life. I particularly love the infinity symbol, because, to me, it represents endless possibilities. Are there any Gods, Goddess, or other mythological figures of whom you're particularly fond? I like mythology, but I don't suppose I ever really got overly attached to any of the figures. Are there any musicals you love? Les Miserables, Phantom, Jekyll and Hyde, South Pacific, Little Shop of Horrors, Evita, My Fair Lady, Man of LeMancha, Chicago, and I could go on all day. Yes, I am a fan of the musical! How broad are your musical tastes? Very, very broad. My father is a music junkie, so I actually grew up listening to both my generation's music and his generation's music. I would probably kick some major butt on one of those music lyric game shows (except for the singing part, which would be epic fail... ). Music is a major escape for me, and one of my greatest pleasures in life. Would a “gift” donation to one of the organizations/causes you support be a great gift, or a lame gift? Great gift! Which of the seven deadly sins is most likely to be your undoing? I ask this because I have a weird fascination with the seven deadly sins, and I sort of unofficially collect anything I find that is related to them. My sin is absolutely, unequivocally pride (which is luckily the mother of them all ). I put myself in sticky situations all the time because I'm usually to proud to ask for help, and I often take on too many responsibilities because I don't want people to think that I can't handle everything that is thrown at me. I have a tendency to define myself by my accomplishments before anything else, and I'm self-critical to the point of insanity. I have this fantasy of being able to actually pull off karaoke, but alas, the genetics were not in my favor. Cool! I like stuff like that. How do you feel about clothing/accessories made from animals? Anti-fur, leather, shells, etc.? Does even faux wig you out? The only thing that I would probably dislike is real fur. How do you deal with stress? What's your favorite way to unwind? A bottle of wine and something good on TV. I also like baths with fun smellies in them. You're given the opportunity to apprentice at any trade (or craft) of your choosing for the period of one year. Your mentor may be any currently living person. Which field of study would you choose, and who would be your mentor? I have to agree with cam on this one. I’d love to learn how to make wine. As far as a mentor? Well, some of the best wines I’ve ever tasted came from the Glaetzer Winery in the Barossa region of Australia, so I’d probably choose them. Anyone want a nickname and embroidered headband from PandaBite? Okay, I had never heard of this, so I googled it. Yes, definitely! This is too much fun! Do you wear lip gloss/lip balm? If so, what flavors/scents? Yes, I can’t live without it! I actually really like Cocoa Pink’s lip balm, but I don’t even think they make it anymore (plus I’m kinda done with the company in general). I also ordered some Moona lip balm in lavender/chocolate that was amazing. I like flavors that are off the beaten path, as it is tough find non-fruity lip balm. Pumpkin Pie bath oil, the Lucy bath oil, any of the GC bath oils, the Phoenix Steamworks tshirt, and I keep waffling about whether to buy a Boadicea set. I have lots of BPTP wants! Do you like Villainess soaps? What are your favorite scents? Yes, oh yes. Canaan, Pyromania, Gingersnapped, and Antihero are my GC faves. Predominantly black musk, opopponax, and licorice mixed with bright citrus and ozone. I see it as an eclectic mix of dark and sneaky mixed with cheer and energy. if i were your witch, and i wanted to make you a spell or mojo bag, would you be into that? and, if you were, would you want it for something like love, prosperity or luck? or would you want it for a certain element? or would you want it for something more personal- and what might that be? This sounds very nice! I don't know much about this sort of thing, but I like the idea. My current needs? I could really use something relating to patience and perserverance (for school-related stuff), and prosperity is always a good thing. As far as elements, am a Taurus, but have always been much more connected to the fire element. I have never felt like I represent Taurus well. Maybe I should have a full chart done sometime... Would you object to anonymous postcards (real ones) from your witch before the big reveal? Sure! I wasn't sure how this would work, since it's my first SW round, but I'm starting to think that more contact makes it more fun. For you tea drinkers, are you partial to tea bags or loose tea? How about tea paraphernalia? I like and use both tea bags and loose tea. I take tea bags to work with me, and drink loose at home. I am always up for tea paraphernalia! I like teapots and cool little teacups and stuff like that. Which shoes do you own that are your favorite? What are your “daily drivers”? I wear heels or dressy flats to work, but any other time you will find me in flip flops. I've been known to wear flip flops and a coat in the winter! I've realized now that contact makes this whole thing much more fun. My alternate reality takes place in a world where I don’t have diabetes, I actually get along with my husband’s family, and I have the time and space to own about 500 dogs. SA's net connection can be dodgy at times and just browsing can sometimes cause chat to quit out. That's on a bad day. But knowing my luck, the net WOULD be having a super slow day if I got a download. As for songs, movies, albums, etc. I have most of what I am interested in, except for old 80s cartoons which I cannot get (My Little Pony and whatnot) and new music that I have not heard of - so I would not be able to tell you WHAT. ******9/10***** Are you interested in things like home remedies for ailments, cleaning solutions, etc.? I read a book called Flipside once, where all the animals start disappearing. Basically, human technology and man's belief in the power of electricity starts creating these invisible creatures from man's faith which start wreaking havoc across the globe and cause the downfall of this reality. Of course, there was an escape route for some. I quite like the idea of our own belief in our own clever technologies spawning something beyond our understanding that destroys us. Are you into 80s movies (like i am ) if so, which are your favorites and who are your favorite characters? all the Molly Ringwald ones! Do you like Villainess soaps? What are your favorite scents? Blush! though I am open to other fruity (or ambery) scents! Do you mind artificial colors in your food? kind of. only if I know they are there, hah. Who wants hair pretties?(headbands, barrettes, pony-o's, scrunchies, bobby pins, hair clips, etc) I really love those hair ties that are like cut up nylons, fabric with no elastic. If you were my witchee, would you like any of the scents/sizes that are available on clearance? I'm not sure which company you are talking about? I don't mind stuff that's on sale! I am on an origami crane kick recently, so I wonder if anyone will be interested in origami crane earrings, origami crane in a glass vial (~1.2cm wide) phone charm/pendant or just a container filled with cranes of different sizes. I love origami! I love ANYTHING Japanese, Kawaii etc. I would also love a phone charm/strap. How do you feel about clothing/accessories made from animals? Anti-fur, leather, shells, etc.? Does even faux wig you out? I love faux The only leather I have is in my Native American regalia, which has been ethically, erm... harvested according to traditions. How do you deal with stress? What's your favorite way to unwind? playing video games, hangin with the kitties or dog, reading, watching my favorite show. You're given the opportunity to apprentice at any trade (or craft) of your choosing for the period of one year. Your mentor may be any currently living person. Which field of study would you choose, and who would be your mentor? a Quilting Bee would be cool. I'm not quite sure otherwise though. I prefer learning crafts and doing them on my lonesome. Autumn Leaves!! best fall scent ever. Would a "gift" donation to one of the organizations/causes you support be a great gift, or a lame gift? I love vintage-ey looking ones mostly. Any songs you are desperately into at the moment? What's autumn like in your neck of the woods? What do you love and/or hate about it? it is PERFECT here in Connecticut. If I ruled the world it would be Fall all year long. I love chilly walks through the woods, the cool smell of fallen leaves, my mom's irish potato stuffing on thanksgiving, warming up with hot apple cider or hot cocoa after a long day of work and school, AND best of all cuddling under blankets with the Boy. What's your favorite product(s) at Trader Joe's? oh god. where to start? I love their roasted chicken patties, their sausages, their tomato soups (in carton and in cans) I love their tea tree tingle shampoo (would love to try the conditioner!), their whey protein, their olive oil, most of their thai food, and their tiramisu cake was good on my bday. I haven't really ventured out of my 'safe zone' (I'm weird with food) so I haven't tried a lot of the so called amazing things yet, like the cookies and candy and pasta and falafel things. The sushi is just okay, not my favorite but decent when I want it. We get my dog her food their and also those little paw print peanut butter cookies, I get the cats treat there too but they refuse the food, I've tried it! I love Trader Joes because I am a poor college student that loves to eat healthy and natural, so its perfect for me because I can get so much on a very tight budget! If you're caught in front of the tv, what are you watching? Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job! The Mighty Boosh, or Ghost Hunters, occasionally Destination: Truth when I can stand the corniness, and I LOVE the Office. Any Amy Brown art fans? nah, its so hot topic corny. I can't stand it. I however LOVE Brian Froud so so much. How do you feel about Halloween music? (mix CDs, what have you) no thanks. unless its specifically ritual music for Samhain or something. Who else is reeeeeally looking forward to Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland? not really. I mean I'd watch it later on at someone's house but I'm tired of Tim Burton now and his conquest of already good fairy tales and stories. Corpse Bride was good at least because it was original. But Alice in Wonderland, even the creepy version, has been done done done. (I love Johnny Depp just like anyone else, too, but I am tired of him being typecasted in all these movies. There are plenty of other good actors to play these parts!) Is there a store that you love which does not have a location near you (but that has a physical presence somewhere, not just online? Why do you love it so much? IKEA! There's one in New Haven but that's so so far. Lolcats....yeah or nay? occasionally there is a pretty good one. but they're overdone. What is your favorite creepy folk story or legend? Sleepy Hollow. mostly ghost stories. I'd love a big book of New England hauntings or something! If your witch were to either write something for you or put together a collection of ghost stories, would you rather have it in writing, recorded as an oral telling, or both? in writing, I'd be afraid of losing a recording! If you had the funds to comission an original painting for yourself, what would it be of? What would it be like- colors, size, style? There has been a lot of talk about chocolate, but none about Candy! What is your favorite Candy? What candy do you hate? I hate Licorice, Butterscotch and violet candy. everything else is good. I have been coveting the Six Feet Under series so so badly. for years. Are you interested in things like home remedies for ailments, cleaning solutions, etc.? yeah, sure! If you do any kind of craft, could you use supplies? What kind? knitting needles, yarn, amazing fabric, pinking shears, cool thimbles or pincushins, jewelery making supplies, beads, etc.? I love cool fabrics and animal prints, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE gemstone beads. What's your favorite pain-relief remedy or ritual? hot shower? I get most of my pain in my feet from work and running around campus everyday. Do sounds make you happy? What ambient noises make you smile? rain, definitely. The sound of my boyfriend's voice. When you receive your SW packages...do you like receiving things that are individually wrapped inside? or unwrapped? or both? It is always really fun to get a big package filled with individually wrapped pressies, but honestly it isn't exactly necessary. Of course, we're all going to be grateful no matter what our witches give us, but for the record, what is your anti-present? Tell us something that you think your future witch might give you that you absolutely, unequivocally DO. NOT. WANT. poop. Hey I had to be honest. What BPAL scent have you never tried but always wanted to? What scent have you tried and LOVED, and haven't been able to get more of and why? Red Moon '04, the best scent ever. I will hoard my 1/5666958 of a decant! I know we're all scent sensitive here. What are your favorite non-perfume smells? Day in the life stuff? summer rain, autumn leaves, forest scents on hikes in the middle of Autumn, the scent of my kitty's and my doggy's fur Coffee drinkers, what types of beans to you like? Kona, Sumatra, Kenya..etc. How do you like them roasted? Do you like flavors, such as hazelnut, vanilla, etc. in your coffee? I liked Hawaiian Kona when I tried it when I worked at Gloria Jeans. Though it sucks that its like 50 bucks a pound I definitely like the mild blends. Who has a birthday falling in this round? me. though its going to suck and I'd rather not have a birthday this year. For those of us who like chocolate, do you like anything /in/ your chocolate, like fruit, nuts, or for the more daring among us, chilies? no chilies thanks. I like my chocolate plain mostly. What are everyone's favorite Halloween-y/Autumn-y/spooky movies? Are there any you don't own but would like to? I’m not exactly a movie kind of person. (I have.. about 6 movies on my shelf I have yet to watch, including Pan’s Labyrinth. ) Although, I will have to say Goonies rocks. (and I don’t think I or my husband have it, either.) Are roasted pumpkin seeds and home made chex mix the best fall snack foods, or what? I would probably make all-natural trail mix with papayas and coconut and mangoes, along with the usual raw pumpkin seeds, cashews, almonds, and sunflower kernels. Whats your favorite pie, my dear SW's? Apple, then a tie between blueberry and cherry. NO PUMPKIN. What kinda socks ar you wearing tonight? It’s too freaking hot for socks. Do you like socks? Blankets? Wrist warmers? Arm warmers? Headband? Shawl? Or what kind of knitted thing would you love the most? Socks are cool. Wrist/arm warmers too. Probably wouldn’t wear a shawl, and my husband and I have enough blankets to open a B&B. How do you feel about ghost stories? Do you like to tell the old tales around a campfire? Read true accounts on the web way past your bedtime? Do you like to pick up a good anthology of Poe stories on a blustery day? Or is all that too scary for you? I love ghost stories.  Who here is LOVING Warehouse 13? I wouldn’t say loving, but if it’s on I don’t say no. Nother question! Coffee or Tea? *laughs* Reminds me of this one camp song the counselors did one year: “something about being a counselor, there’s nothing I’d rather be, but if I weren’t a counselor..” random person: ‘A flight attendant I’d be! Coffee, tea or me? Here’s your throw-up bag!’ Both, if I had a coffeemaker. I especially love Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Co. Cool Café Blues, Mocha Java, and Haitian Bleu. (I won’t say no to Hawaiian Kona or Jamaican Blue Mountain, either) As for tea products.. I love peppermint tea. And green tea. Interested in locally produced products? Food, skincare or both?Olive oil? Lavender oils or soaps? Locally produced anything is good.  Does anyone in here wear a lot of dangly earrings or collect pendants of all kinds?? How about hair clips or pony tail band things? I like dangly earrings, and pendants. Neat hair clips/pony tail things are /always/ appreciated. What is your favourite historical period? Don’t have one. What other hot beverages everyone likes for fall? Not a fan of hot beverages in general, due to being easily overheated and living in a warmer climate. That being said, I do like hot chocolate every now and then. Did you order anything from the most recent update? I picked up Summer’s Last Will and Samhain at the DSWC the other week. I want Suck It and the Fool. Still testing the Literary Vampires. Vampires or Werewolves? Or some other monster? Vampires. What sort of odd or regional foods do you crave? Hoagies/cheesesteaks from Leo’s in Sharon Hill, PA. Birch beer, TastyKakes, and Canada Dry vanilla cream soda. Any Gamers here? What kind? Board games? RPG? Miniature? MMORPG? Board games are fun. I also kind of hang around a MUSH, but don’t do much RPing anymore. Also did live-action RP for a while, but have kind of lost interest/money to play. Is anyone playing this round of SW into ABJ? (asian ball jointed dolls) Newp. What is your favorite Halloween icon? Imagine that you're given a shoebox-sized time capsule, and you are asked to put any number of items in the box that symbolize who you are. The items can be may be anything you can imagine, and money is no object, but they must fit within the box. Which items do you choose? Uhm. I am no good with questions like this. Are you involved in any long-term, ambitious project? something like decorating your house or saving for a trip to the other end of the world, for example. Right now am saving to move the household in storage to GA (and the husband, too.) Favorite kind or take out kinda burger? Whats your burger preference? Veggie,meat or ???? If I’m in the mood for it, nothing beats a well-done beef burger, topped with provolone or monty jack or cheddar cheese, tomatoes, onions, relish, and lettuce. Whats your favorite childhood toy? I have a few of them.. a stuffed purple bunny that was given to me when I was three, my ragged Barkley dog, Bunnyball (basically a soft ball with ears and a bunny face), and later on my cute wrinkled forehead stuffed puppy Cuddles. If you have a pet, what kind of gifts would be good for them? No pets. I live vicariously when I visit my sister and her boston terrier Olivia. Do you Tweet? What is your Twitter name? No, I haven’t drunk the Koolaid yet. Are you on Ravelry? What is your Ravelry name? I don’t knit/crochet, so no. Do you like pinup art/images? I love to look, but I’m not a collector. What are your plans for Halloween? Have you made any yet? Do you have any traditions? Dunno what I’m doing for Halloween. Tempted to help take my nephews around town. Who are your BPAL forum buddies? You know, people I could conspire with to Witch you! Previous witch was Sheyona, but I’m more of a lurker. What is your favorite color? Currently hunter green. I also likes purple and blue. Any other steampunk fans/lovers? I like the aesthetic, and will wear little touches like hair clips and pendants and earrings, but am not into the entire look, as I generally have no where to wear it. Describe your ideal picnic lunch. Where would you go? Who (if anyone, and yes there can be multiple people) would accompany you? What sort of food would you take? And, of course, if a picnic lunch sounds like a horrible idea, feel free to say so! As long as there is a blanket to spread upon the ground so I don’t break out from the grass, picnics are a wonderful idea. My ideal picnic place would be a nice grassy spot under a big tree for shade. Food would be typical picnic fare, or something like burgers generally fresh off the grill. If it were romantic, just my husband would be there. If it were friendly, I’d take the husband and my best friend and her husband and just have a nice day out. You're in the kitchen at the end of a pay period and groceries are pretty scarce. Do you take the five ingredients you find first and make something fabulous, or do you order take out? Depends on if I think the first five ingredients could be thrown together. (which is why I always have fixings for a recipe of chicken stir fry in the house) If I don’t, then takeout. If you could decorate/redecorate any 1 room in your home, what would it be and how would you decorate it? Meh. Happy (mostly, I need more counterspace in the kitchen, but that’s remodel, not redecorate) with the house. Any rabid sports fans out there? What teams do you root for? Not a sports fan. What's your favorite animal? (You can have more than one.) I have always liked giraffes. Ever since I can remember, I have had two little glass ones on my childhood jewelry box. Which is the extent of my collection. This is how the world ends... zombie apocalypse, robot uprising, alien invasion, return of the elder gods... which doomsday scenario do you prefer (or make your own!)? Some say the world ends in fire, some in ice. In the year 2525... if man is still alive... what sort of future do you imagine? (apologies to anyone who gets that song stuck in their head!) *returns fire with Talking Heads* Same as it ever was. Do you believe in magic (or magick, if you prefer)? What does it mean to you? Yes. Longer answer later. If you found the puzzle box from Hellraiser, what would you do with it? ( and would you be able to resist playing with it? ) Having never seen Hellraiser, I’d probably play with it. At least poke it with a stick. Any cooks? Could you use anything cooking related? Aprons? Cookbooks? Measuring Cups? Recipes? Herb/Spice containers? Fancy Spices? Dish Towels? Cocktail napkins? Amazing Beaded Pot Holders? (like from our very own Pottersville! ) Something else? Your favorite recipes would be nice. Also, cookbooks wouldn’t go amiss. Looking for Taste of Home Annual Recipes ’96 , ’98 – ’03. I also saw an interesting vegetarian cookbook in Whole Foods the other day, but don’t remember title/author. Nothing fancy or time consuming in the kitchen, please. I like to cook, but would rather read or watch TV. oh, and if there are any lunch idea cookbooks out there.. gimme! Are you an avid reader? What's your favorite book/series?What's your favorite candy to stock up on at Halloween? LOVE reading. Diana Gabaldon, George RR Martin are two authors whose books I do not have. No stocking up on candy, trying to lose weight. What are your phobias? I am TERRIFIED of spiders. Mild fear of heights. What is your favourite flower (or plant)? Daisies and roses are neat. Although please do not give me a plant to take care of, as I have a black thumb. (How my pachira tree is surviving is really beyond me.) I would be interested, however, in fake flower arrangements to prettify my dining room table. (Or, if you’re uber creative, it doesn’t necessarily have to be flowers.) Duct tape purses and wallets and things are pretty darned cool. Who else thinks so? Yes, but my husband the fashion whore would rather die than be seen with me with a duct tape purse. An anonymous benefactor gives you $500 (or an equivalent amount of money in your currency of choice) with the following stipulations. You must spend all of it within a week: any money left unspent must be returned. You must spend at least half of the money on yourself. You may not use it to pay off debts or bills of any kind. What do you do with the money? Go hogwild on reading material. (finish off collecting Preacher and Fables and jack of fables, and Hatter M for starters..) Buy actual copies of some of the harder to find albums in my mp3 collection (because they’re either Japanese or European). Uhm.. yeah. That’s it so far. Who likes coloring books? They’re neat. Dunno if I actually want one, with crayons (since I have none). Are you an avid reader? What's your favorite book/series? Uhm, yes. A million times yes. I would rather read than do almost anything. I can name favorite authors, which will give you a better idea of the type of books I read, rather than me trying to name all the books I read.. Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Jaime Delano, Jill Thompson, Charles DeLint, Diana Gabaldon, Nancy Madore, Jaqueline Carey, Emma Bull, Ellen Datlow, J.
