Winter Fun Swap Info

1. So... someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from Walgreen's to ONLY use on things for yourself. No necessities here. What do you buy? Haribo gummies (maybe the peaches, haven't had them for a while), Milani Liquif'eye black eyeliner, crackle nail polish, Sally Hansen nail strips (maybe the fishet or lace ones).   2. I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. Would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (It's Penzey's if you want to Google it.) Vanilla beans, good cinnamon, Mexican oregano, pink peppercorns, edible lavender.   3. Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? Do you prefer machine washable materials? Do you not care?)? I'm a knitter and I love knitwear. Any fiber, as long as not scratchy. I could really use a hat to go with brown and camel coats. Favorite colors are earth tones and jewel tones (plus black) and love variegated yarns.   4. Hey swap partner... could you use a new mug? Don't need ceramic mugs, but could use one of the big plastic cold drink cups with a straw that look like to go cups.   5. Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try? I love to try regional treats of all kinds. Especially love hot sauces, pickled items, spices, interesting potato chips.   6. Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? We do. It's very colorful and eclectic, so really anything goes. I like when ornaments symbolize personal interests (I have pickle, martini shaker, and carnival mask ones, for instance) so something knitting or perfume/cosmetics themed would be cool!   7. Would you like a special ornament? Sure!   8. Tim Tams. Yay or nay? Nom nom nom!   9. Now, a question of my own: I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? Would love your goodies!   10. Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? If they fit in our general decor, which is Arts & Crafts/Mission/handpainted sure.   11. My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a body scrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? Oooh, wow. I have dry skin and love scrubs. Sugar and vanilla would thrill me to pieces. Also love pink grapefruit and sugar, lavender salt, or maybe something with amber.   12. Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? If yes, then what kind? Scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? I love unscented candles for the table. I am also fond of scented candles but rarely burn them because of little kids all over the place. It's a great way to enjoy woodsy scents that I can't wear because I amp woods, pine, etc.   13. Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores.... I luuuurve soaps, all kinds. If they're pretty or amusing shapes, I love the guest soap concept, because I am a 50s housewife at heart.   14. Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? I'm not big into socks, but I do wear them. I really don't wear novelty designs. SmartWool are amazing and I'd love another pair. I love Sock Dreams, mostly for my growing collection of OTK and thigh high socks.   15. Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? Working from memory here -- if that was the cowl, I've never worn one. I don't like tight things around my neck, but if it's loose and warm, I think it would be much simpler to wear than a scarf. So yes! Earth/jewel/black would be great.   16. New question: talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? I love both coffee and tea. Coffee needs to be strong and unflavored, though good quality syrups in vanilla or caramel would be nice. I use both a steam espresso maker and a French press. Also have a drip, but it lives most of the time in the closet. Tea: love black teas. Don't really love heavily flavored ones, but once in a while I come across one that does work for me, including vanilla, mango, and blackcurrant. I like a touch of lapsang souchong for smokiness and good Earl Grey. Also like Moroccan Mint tea.   17. Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? Love OCC Lip Tar and would love to try more colors and their other products. I have: Petty Beige, Clear, Melange, Trollop, and Strutter.   18. Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try? Never did, but always willing! I like vanilla scents, especially if they're not heavily foodie (like combined with amber, etc.)   19. Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? I love love love it. Especially love earthy metallics and duochromes.   20. If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) If BPTP is allowed, I'd get a bottle of Honey or Fig/Sandalwood hair gloss. Then fill in with a bottle of Hermia and some wand caps. If all perfume, I'd get Hermia and Lady Una and make up the rest in imps (Lyonesse, Dorian, Snake Oil, Eat Me).   21. Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? Muppet Christmas Carol and a new copy of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which got scratched. The Nutcracker, preferably the SF Ballet version. Oh, and Bad Santa for after the kids go to bed.   22. How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? Not a big superhero fan. I used to be Superman's trademark lawyer, though!   23. Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online. Never been a big Lush fan, but if my favorite notes inspire you to gift something you think I might like, I would give it another chance.   24. Would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents? Love Paintbox, and only have a few items from them. Would love to try Snoggin', Comfort & Joy, Gingermilk, Big in Japan, This Charming Man soaps, White Snow and Avast Sorbettos. Or surprise me!   25. NEW QUESTION! - Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? I have three boys (ages 9, 5, and 10 months) and two lovely cats, but don't worry about all of them, worry about ME ME ME!   26. How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any? I love honey and beeswax products.   27. Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist? I am a whore for their seasonal salted caramels and also the spicy dried mangoes and pineapple. Luckily there is one right by my office, but I would not mind help stockpiling the caramels.   28. The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything? see #24   29. If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, what would you want me to include for you? the only thing that really got me excited was Halloween: Las Vegas but I have some on order.   30. Will you be away for any part of the round? Just thanksgiving.   31. Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? No shop.   32. What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything? Big reader! Check me out on goodreads under my real name.   33. Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar? Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? Rose, yes. Violet, no. Never tried mastic, so sure. Note: rose-pomegranate mojitos are amazing.   34. If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie? Everything other than caterwauling pop stuff you hear in malls.   35. I live in the city of the chicken wing. If I were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter)? I love spicy food, pretty darn hot, but not so hot you can't taste anything else. Love sweet and heat combo so much!   36. If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? Sephora, etsy, Villainess, Trader Joes, iTunes   37. If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? I'm not a fan of mint. But I do like a candy cane now and then! Love salted caramels, toffee, butterscotch, that type of stuff.   38. Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you? Yummy! It all sounds good! The stuff with salted caramel, chai, grapefruit, lychee, especially.   39. Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? Oh lovely. Will update wish list.   40. What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular. I love anise. Cardamom I'm a little less crazy about, but I like it. Am a big cinnamon and ginger fan.   41. Do you like artisan oils and vinegars? Oh yes!   42. Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines? I love the charities that provide needed supplies requested by teachers. But all your suggestions sound good to me.   43. Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in? I don't have a tart burner, but Insomniac sounds so good! Also any vanilla ones.   44. Do you need any holiday recipies? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? And for those of you doing the no sugar/low sugar, etc. thing these days, how about savory things? I adore gingerbread and really any kind of fancy cookies. Not doing low sugar, but I also love savory treats.   45. Speaking about candles, how much do you look forward to the BPTP candles that will be launched on Etsy? I don't know if there will be other scents than the Samhain and Pumpkin Cookie one, but is there a specific one you are longing for? I don't really use a lot of scented candles.   46. Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.? Books, music, videos, kitchen items like gadgets and cookie cutters all fine. A little wary of fabric items. Oh, and will take used BPAL of course!   47. Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms? No, I'm pretty diverse in my interests, not terribly obsessive about any one thing.   48. Bunnies, how do you feel about lemon-flavored items, like lemon marmalade, lemon curd, lemon pound cake, or lemon cookies? TO DIE FOR. If holborne is willing to nacho some of her lemon squares, I would take them!   49. fingerless mittens or full mitts? I have never tried fingerless and am sort of interested in what they're like.   50. reveal, yes or no? I am going to reveal, and I hope my fox wants to, but up to her/him.   51. Any favorite cuddly characters? I have a soft spot for Grover, but no room for any more cuddlies.   52. Moxie Nouveau groupon? I've never tried them, so would probably not know what to do with it, but wouldn't mind pointers!   53. what's your favourite colour? I love pinks, purples, peacock, aqua, emerald. All my leather accessories are pink.   54. Your favourite gemstone? If I had to pick one, I'd say fire opal. I also love diamond, ruby, emerald, aquamarine, sapphire, moonstone, garnet.   55. Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)? I'm not that into animals, but I'm always fascinated by gorillas and the big cats.   56. And do you have any intense phobias? Not really.   57. Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause? Not this time, maybe someday.   58. Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks? I have a box that's pretty good for my bottles (not full yet!) but my imps are a disaster!

Winter Holiday swap answers

I'm joining in with everyone else       so...someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from walgreens to ONLY use on things for yourself. no necessities here. what do you buy?   Hmmm...having no Walgreens here, I have to go google this, and I would probably go for... some Burt's bees lip balm some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups some m&m's...the peanut butter ones, the pretzel ones and the dark chocolate ones, because we can't get them here very easily. Poppycock and crackerjack both look intriguing the nail polish looks like fun, but my nails are chewed down so far it's pointless to even consider them a penguin plush, though would be fun!   I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (it's penzey's if you want to google it).   Spices would be lovely, but sadly AQIS (Australian Customs) tend to take a dim view of things like that, and there's a better than average chance that they would be confiscated     Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? do you prefer machine washable materials? do you not care?)?   I love knitted goods - I normally knit for other people, so getting something knitted would be wonderful! My favourite colours are usually deep dark ones, especially black, charcoal, burgundy, deep cherry red or claret, midnight blue, deep green etc. I'm not allergic to any yarn, but I do tend to prefer natural fibres, and I have no issue with handwashing, in fact anything made specially for me would be handwashed no matter what     hey swap partner...could you use a new mug?   Always!!! Especially big mugs for coffee, or little delicate ones for tea.     Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try?   Some of the regional-ish stuff I've mentioned in my questionaire, and further up the thread. Though my sister lived in the USA for a while and used to send me Trader Joe's care packages...and some of their nibbly stuff was amazing.   Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such?   Probably not this year...between travelling, and a cat that thinks that everything is a climbing challenge it's not going to work out.   Would you like a special ornament?   I would LOVE a special ornament! Even if the tree doesn't make it up because we're travelling, I always make sure there is some kind of decorating going on.   If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store?   I would LOVE homemade goodies, but I have a sneaking suspicion that, as with spices, AQIS would confiscate anything like that.     Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed?   Serving bowls etc are wonderful, but limited kitchem space means that non-themed ones that I can use all year would work better. Though on further thought, they would be too big and heavy to send overseas.   My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist?   Body scrubs are always awesome! Sugar is better than salt...I've found sugar is a little bit more gentle than salt. I love my scrubs more on the oily side. As for scents...vanilla, rose, jasmine, citrus oils or else something spicy and warming. I don't like lavender on it's own, but lavender with a bit of lemon to lighten it up would be wonderful.   Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted?   I love candles. Any style. I can always find spots for tapers, pillars, tealights and jarred candles. I prefer them undecorated, because they mostly wind up in holders of one kind or another, As for scents, I have no preference. Foody scented ones for the holidays are always good, and holiday colours are always good too.   Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores   I love little soaps...I have no problems admitting that I have an addiction to soap.   Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams?   I am a sock fiend. To be honest, I've never ordered from Sock Dreams...but I have eyed off a lot of things, most recently the Chat Noir Knee Highs, I just haven't gotten around to buying anything yet.   Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color?   http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gap-tastic-cowl   Yes yes...a thousand time yes! As for colours, the same as in my previous hand knits question.   new question: talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA?   Mmmm...coffee. Whole bean or ground are both fine. Flavoured is always fun, especially holiday type flavours. Caffeine please! I have a little espresso pot, so anything preground needs to be fine ground. As for favourite roasters, I would love to be surprised...though if possible, I prefer fair trade coffee/tea/chocolate.   Of course, I'm equally obsessed with tea. Any tea or coffee would have to be manufacturer sealed though - again, Customs get grumpy.   Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like?   I've never tried any, but the Vintage, Stalker and Strumpet Lip Tars look amazing.   Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try?   I've never tried any Cocoa Pink. The Whipped soap looks interesting though. As for scents; Bendel Vanilla Bean, Bourbon Vanilla, Confederate Jasmine, and Spiritueuse Double Vanilla all sounds good.   Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? Sadly, I'm a chronic nail biter, so I don't have enough nails left to paint.   f you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!)   A surprise from my wishlist would be best. Otherwise I would never be able to narrow it down.   How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero?   I'm more of a Vertigo fan, Sandman was my first love.   Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own?   None that I can think of right now.   Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online.   I'm a total Lush obsessive. What I most want at this time of year - assuming they're bringing it back for Christmas - would be some Snowcake soap. (And having looked at the Australian Lush site, they are...AND they're doing a Melting Snowman ballistic, which smells the same. So I would love one of those too!)   Also, question, dearest bunnies: would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents?   I would LOVE a paintbox. As for scents...   The Man in the Moon Lavender Truffle Silken Peony Gingermilk The Englishman   Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety?   I have a newly 15 year old daughter who still likes surprises...but having just had a birthday, but don't feel like you need to add anything for her - plus a dog and cat. The dog and cat however, have their own Santa Paws gifts coming via my Cattle Dog website, so they don't need anything.     How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any?   I love honey, but I have a friend who is a beekeeper, so I have lots already.   NEW QUESTION: Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist?   I would love to get my hands on some Trader Joe's goodies. My sister sent me some salted caramel that was full of win...I'm a total sucker sor sweet-spicy, and sweet-salty nibbly things, so anything along those lines would be wonderful. Peanut butter pretzels are very popular here too. Oh! And candy cane Joe Joes...I was gifted some of them one year, and they were to die for!   The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything?   Comfort and Joy, Poinsetta, and White Snow, Bright Snow all sound divine!     A few questions of my own- If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you? (presuming that is that the order can get here in time, bites nails)   I'm still making a final decision on mine, but possible Boo 2011, Vampire Bride or Ghosts in Love decants would be really nice.     Will you be away for any part of the round?   I don't think so.   Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Everything in my shop is up for trade.   N/A       What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything?   I have both an Amazon and a Book Depository wishlist mentioned in my questionaire. Please don't feel like I expect anything from there, but it should give you an idea as to my tastes though.     If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie?   I like a bit of everything. I tend to prefer some of the more quirky stuff...eg Mojo Nixon et al, but I also have a soft spot for the classics.       Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.)   Yea! I love Turkish Delight - especially when it's sugar dusted rather than being chocolate coated.   Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you wold prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun (I can go hunting, some companies make them all year round although it's not the same as the bakery Easter ones ), the raw resin itself, anything?)   I can't say I've ever tried mastic, but I wouldn't say no to trying it.     i live in the city of the chicken wing. if i were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter).   I'm perfectly happy to admit that I'm a wimp. A tiny bit of heat is okay, after that I'm not going there.     If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like?   Paintbox soapworks, Amazon, Villainess, Sock Dreams or Threadless maybe?   If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies?   Chocolate is good no matter what's in it! Unless that something is liquorice or liqeur filled. As for Christmas candies, I'm all about the candy canes, as long as they're mint. I don't like all the other flavours that they come in. I think I'm getting all cranky old lady about it..."They were mint when I was a kid, so mint they must stay!!!" I don't know if gingerbread counts as candy...but gingerbread in any form is also a favourite.   Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you?   There is some amazing looking stuff there, but working on the fact that anything being shipped to me would be shipped in summer, I have a feeling that they wouldn't survive the trip.   Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update?   There is some lovely stuff there, but they're too expensive for this swap. I may go pick up some things for myself though.     What was the best holiday present you ever got?   It's going to sound soppy, but when my daughter was tiny, my sister snuck her away for a secret photo shoot, and I got an album of gorgeousness.     Bunny, what scent are you desperately wanting to be resurrected this year with the Anniversary update?   Love's Philosophy, Venom (yeah, I know), Antique Lace, The Girl, Black Temple Burlesque Troupe and Quincy Morris.   Groupon for Moxie Nouveau! Dear Bunneh, is this something that would interest you?   Quite possibly! Twelfth Night and Gunslinger Romance sound the most intriguing.   Bun-bun, what's your favourite colour?   Black or burgundy...and pretty much all the other previously mentioned colours.   Your favourite gemstone?   Onyx, jet, obsidian, amethyst, garnet   Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)?   Bats! And Dragons (to have a real and imaginary) and of course, cats.   And do you have any intense phobias? Cos, um, I was in the Crooked Crafting Swap, is why I ask -- I think some of the rest of us were, too -- and I wouldn't want you to be, like, scarred by your present. (Well. Scarred in a nonconsensual way....)   Not really.   Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause?   Not me.   Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks?   Actually, that would be really useful. My current bottle box is getting close to the overflow point, and so a second one would definitely get used!   b]A question: reveal, yes or no?[/b]   I would love a reveal...   Any favorite cuddly characters?   Skeleanimals! I have the bat and the rabbit, but they wouldn't object to another new friend   Do you have a strong preference for any sort of bath and body product brands (i.e. etailer/etsy type cos, department store/specialty brands like Lush) or are you cool with anything that doesn't smell like Bunnybane?     I tend to prefer small business and specialty brands...but anything that is paraffin oil free (essential), and cruelty free is fine by me.   Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in?   Good question. Silk Sheets, and Don't Make Baby Jesus Cry both sound good.   The Pretty Boys in Eyeliner candle sounds interesting, only because I tend to get a bit rowr about just that...but I'm not sure that I would actually like the scent     Do you need any holiday recipes? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? And for those of you doing the no sugar/low sugar, etc. thing these days, how about savory things?   Not really...I'm the queen of recipes all by myself   Looking forward to BPTP candles?   There aren't any left now, but even if they had been, the two scents offered don't really do much for me. I would be curious to see what else they would have later on.     Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.?   No problems at all!   Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms?   History. Then I get all fangirly about all things Neil Gaiman, all things Tim Burton, and all things Terry Pratchett. Dr Who - Doc 4 was my first love, back when I was a teeny tiny one...but I am also obsessed with Doc 10 and 11. As far as companions go, Sarah Jane will always be my favourite. This Doctor Who love spills across to Torchwood. Captain Jack rowr! But I really most loved Ianto...and Gwen is awesomesauce. I'm also a total Harry Potter nerd.   Bunnies, how do you feel about lemon-flavored items, like lemon marmalade, lemon curd, lemon pound cake, or lemon cookies?   Lemons? Om nom nom!       pink? It would depend on the depth of the pink. Deep darkish shades in general are lovely. Pastel/girly pink...not so much. But *anything* made especially for me makes everything perfect, so unless the colour made me look ill, it would still be worn and loved!   fingerless mittens or full mitts?   probably fingerless.   But the question then becomes, do you want all 12 feet worth of Tom Baker scarf? Absolutely!!! Apparently I begged for one when I was tiny too...and never got one then.     Do you like snow and wintery scenes?   Yes! Mostly because I live somewhere that never gets in any way snowy.       Bunny, could you use a 2012 calendar, and, if so, do you like big monthly ones or the page-a-day type?   I could! (And have some listed on my Amazon list     Do you prefer dark or milk chocolate?   Dark   Do you like artisan oils and vinegars?   I do. But they would be insanely expensive to ship, so no thank you.   What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular.   Yum!!!   Any crafty pursuits you’ve been dying to experiment with? Would you like a little kit of something you’ve never tried? Do you need any particular items for your new or existing stash?   That would be fun! I'm set for all things knitting, but I am starting to experiment with beading and cross stitch...and am more than happy to be introduced to another new craft. Though I really can't get my head around crochet.     If your fox were to knit something for you, would it be a lacy shawl or a pair of socks? Inquiring foxes want to know!   That's a hard one! I would love either.   Would anyone else be interested in a soap dish or something like that?   Thank you, but no. I'm all good on that front.   Are you a Harry Potter fan? If so, which house do you identify with, and why? Would you want knitted things/replicas/accessories in your house colours?   I am...and I identify with Ravenclaw. Something accessory like would be fun!

Winter Holiday Fun Swap Questions & Answers (2011)

1. So... someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from Walgreen's to ONLY use on things for yourself. No necessities here. What do you buy? Depends on whether I'm pmsing or not. If yes, probably chocolate. (My Walgreen's has Green & Blacks dark cocoa and I keep 'em in my desk drawer and eat 1-2 squares a day after lunch. I also love those Lindt squares and the orange and pepper chocolate bars.) If I'm not pmsing, I might actually buy makeup. Maybe an eyeliner or two. I've been occasionally practicing lining my upper lid lately and all I have is a Revlon Timeliner in a sort of neutral brown shade (it's ooooold and probably discontinued). I like that it's soft and not pokey, but I could probably use a different color or two. Either that, or I'd buy more foundation wedges or foundation (Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer in Light to Neutral).     2. I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. Would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (It's Penzey's if you want to Google it.) I am another one who totally loves Penzy's. I love a lot of their blends like Zatar, Rogan Josh, Balti and Garam Masala. I also use a lot of the Adobo, ground chipotle and the smoked Paprika. And I'm sure there are lots of other great ones!   3. Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? Do you prefer machine washable materials? Do you not care?)? Yes. Yes I do quite like them. The most useful colors for my wardrobe are probably black, scarlet, kelly green, emerald green and turquoise. But I also love all blues, fierce orange, gray and purple. I love all fibers except those that shed (no angora, please!)   4. Hey swap partner... could you use a new mug? I can always use mugs, and also aluminum water bottles. For some reason my husband leaves those all over the country-side.   5. Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try? I can't think of anything in particular, but in general I love regional foods and things that are local to my witch. It's like a vacation in a box!   6. Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? Usually we do, although I really want a fake one this year because I am sick of vacuuming needles. It's not themed -- unless you count all of our childhood ornaments as a theme!     7. Would you like a special ornament? Ornaments are always a good present at Christmas. There's no certain special kind I covet though.   8. Tim Tams. Yay or nay? Yay!   9. Now, a question of my own: I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? Points to signature... I will eat anything you send me. Truly.   10. Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? Bunny would not mind. I don't use them super often, but I do go to holiday parties and occasionally have one of my own. It never hurts to have some nice serving items in the cupboard. I can always use more big bowls too.     11. My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a body scrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? Absolutely! I like a slightly looser/more oily scrub (think Smooch rather than Smack). I like lavender and orange essential oils and even a little rose. I also like woody/resinous scents.     12. Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? If yes, then what kind? Scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? Pasted from the candle relevant questions from my Hallowe'en round questions: I like the ease of the self contained candle, so I would vote for a jar. Color would matter less to me than scent. I'm imagining something with lavender and lemon which would make my bathroom smell clean and fresh. Maybe some sweet grass or sage thrown in there as well. I really love the Luna scent from Archipelago Botanicals. It's lemon verbena, lavender and thyme -- very clean and fresh. I also love the Stonehenge scent from the same company - smoked cedarwood, bermot and amber. It is very comforting and warm without being cloying. For the Christmas season I also like AB's Black Forest candles which are douglas fir, ebony wood and black currant. From Yankee, I like the Sage Citrus which is also really clean and fresh.   13. Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores.... I use a TON of bar soap. You can never go wrong sending me soap.   14. Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? I have a ridiculous pair of multi-colored crocheted slippers my brother bought for me in a Native village in Alaska. They aren't really warm enough and I often layer then with socks. Slippers and socks are LOVE. And SockDreams is like Planet Love Fest. I covet, covet, covet a lot of their tights (usually the fairly plain black, grey and plain colored ones since I wear them to work. But the subtle patterns of the bamboo ones are just my new favorite thing. And someday I will own wool tights. Yes I will. The preeeeeeecccccciiiiiioooooooouuuuuussssssssssssss.)   15. Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? Yes. See the color preferences in answer to #3. I try to keep my wardrobe fairly blendy.     16. New question: talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? Whole bean coffee, not flavored. I like African blends. But really, TEA is my thing. I tend to drink 1-2 cups per day, usually oolong or black (or flavored black).   17. Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? Not for me, thanks.   18. Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try? Never tried anything. Her drama makes me shudder.     19. Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? I don't really paint my nails. It makes them feel suffocated.     20. If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) Cut and pasted from Hallowe'en round: $50, huh?... Ok, here's the breakdown (I did three, one for bpal, one for bptp and one for the ideal world where you could combine orders from both sites)   BPAL 1 imp pack -$22 Contents: White Rider, Red Rider, Black Rider, Tombstone, Anne Bonnie & War Then I would dither between a bottle of Safari ($28) and a replacement bottle of Vixen ($17.50). But, in the end, I'd probably go with Vixen so I had that extra $10 to buy two or three (depending on whether I want to come in just under or just over the $50) more imps: Velvet, Suhha Segara and O   BPTP Soap: Port au Prince, Shub, & Snake oil ($8.50 x 3= $25.50) Librarian t-shirt ($20) Then I'd throw in a couple of magnets to get me to $50     Combined 1 imp pack as above ($22) Soap: Shub (but I'd dither between that and P au P) Bottle of Vixen   21. Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? I wouldn't mind having Miracle on 34th Street (the OLD version).   22. How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? I am ambivalent. I mean, I like them, but have no allegiances.   23. Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online. There is a too-long list in my Swap Faery Help post which is linked in my signature.   24. Would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents? If I had to make my own combination it would actually end up looking very similar to The Old Masters Set. Definitely Charming Man, Blackbird and Englishman; but I might swap out Dead Leaves and GFM for Queen is Dead and Beet It or Gingermilk.   25. Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? There is only J, and he'll totally just take whatever he wants anyway. (Food items and bar soap get shared between us automatically.)   26. How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any? Hmm...interesting honey would be appreciated, but I'm not sure what I'd do with beeswax.   27. Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist? I miss TJs. I became addicted in law school and have been essentially without for YEARS. We usually make at least one four hour car trip a year just because we can. I especially love and miss: the nuts! (Thai Lime Chili Cashews and sesame honey cashews are freaking amazing. The plain Wasabi Almonds and plain Tamari are also good, but the Wasabi Tamari are out of this world.) I also adore a lot of their sauces (Moroccan Tangine, Thai Peanut, Punjab Spinach, all three colors of Thai sauce and Tahini rock my socks). Lots of the wine is more than drinkable for the price (dry, dry, DRY wine). The cheese and frozen stuff is also fantastic, but much less shippable.   28. The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything? I think Yuletide Mariner sounds pretty fab and Snoggin sounds nice and comforting. I've actually never tried her stuff, so I have no preferences for soap vs. scrub etc. except to say that washy things like soaps and scrubs get used more than pampering things like lotions or creams.     29. If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you? (presuming that is that the order can get here in time, bites nails) I honestly didn't even read the 'weenies very closely this year to avoid temptation.     30. Will you be away for any part of the round? I don't think so, but if a mini-vacation materializes, I'll be sure to let my fox know.   31. Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Everything in my shop is up for trade. I'm not a member and am not crafty.   31. What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything? My amazon list is linked in my questionnaire.   32. If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie? Answered on original questionnaire.   33. Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.) I have never tried any, but would be game.   34. Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you wold prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun (I can go hunting, some companies make them all year round although it's not the same as the bakery Easter ones ), the raw resin itself, anything?) See above.   35. i live in the city of the chicken wing. if i were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter). Pretty darn hot. Not inferno, but above medium.   If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? Amazon is by far the most practical because it can go to kindle titles or other random items. I'd also be all over one to a favorite e-tailer, like Villainess, Elements & Artifacts, Mother Moon Gems, Joystreet or Orbiting Saturn Designs. Or sock dreams, because a girl can always use more black tights.   My numbering got all buggered up when I left for my anniversary. Sorry. If I miss anything you need, dear Fox, please just let me know (sneakily, of course!)   If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? Nothing to avoid, although I'm not super fond of gummies or marshmallows (marshmallow cream I love, but regular marshmallows taste like foam). I like toffee, fudge, peanut butter fudge, caramels (salted for the win!) as well as spiced nuts.   Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you? All of the caramels look amazing and even though I just said I don't love marshmallows, the orange-chocolate ones look interesting. The lollypops don't really do anything for me.   Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? I think I have favorited most things on etsy. I'm feeling a little guilty for not ordering the necklace that matched the earrings I snagged, but I'm glad to see someone else loved it. Really, I love all Alicia's stuff. Of course, I also really love items from some of our other jewelry makers on etsy (MotherMoon, Orbiting Saturn Designs and JoyStreet.)   Do you prefer dark or milk chocolate? Generally dark, although I will eat either.   reveal, yes or no? That is entirely up to my fox and I will be happy either way.   Any favorite cuddly characters? My husband? Umm...I like foxes. And rabbits.   Moxie Nouveau groupon? Groupon? What? There was a groupon? I have never tried her scents, but the few I have sniff tested have been nice. The customs seem especially interesting.   what's your favourite colour? Teal. Or scarlet. or black. Or electric blue. Unless it's kelly green. Or flame orange....   Your favourite gemstone? I don't really have one. I like blue tones, green and flame tones. Also, amber. And pearls. Really, I like it all except really brown/muddy stones.   Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)? Foxes! (Also, rabbits.)   And do you have any intense phobias? Nope.   Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause? I am not participating.   Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks? I can always use boxes, but they are more apt to be for things like jewelry (earring and necklace storage of some sort would be aces) than perfume.   What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular. Love   Do you like artisan oils and vinegars? Yes.   Bunny, could you use a 2012 calendar, and, if so, do you like big monthly ones or the page-a-day type? I actually just bought this one for my office.     Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines? I heart all those options.   Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in? I do not have a tart burner.   Do you need any holiday recipies? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? And for those of you doing the no sugar/low sugar, etc. thing these days, how about savory things? I do not have any requests, but sweet or savory are both appreciated.   Speaking about candles, how much do you look forward to the BPTP candles that will be launched on Etsy? I don't know if there will be other scents than the Samhain and Pumpkin Cookie one, but is there a specific one you are longing for? I am interested in them, especially Samhain. My usual scent preferences will guide my squee.   Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.? I love gently used everything.   Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms? Not really, although I do love things about food and the local food movement.   Bunnies, how do you feel about lemon-flavored items, like lemon marmalade, lemon curd, lemon pound cake, or lemon cookies? Love them.   fingerless mittens or full mitts? Fingerless for work and house wear. Full for actually being outside.   Do you like coin purses? Yes. Although, I tend to lose them and use them for things other than coins (like earrings or hair ties or safety pins or credit cards). Right now I am carrying this big wallet in the Jade/Orange color with the matching little orange coin purse. But the coin purse is my credit card holder, so change is loose in my big bag.   If your fox were to knit something for you, would it be a lacy shawl or a pair of socks? Either would be fabulous! I will say that socks would probably get MORE use, but a shawl would not be LOVED any less. Also, the non-lacy shawls someone posted are extra fabulous because they look nice and warm.   Would anyone else be interested in a soap dish or something like that? I do not need one. I have three of the metal ones Villainess used to sell and they are the best ever. They keep the soap up out of water and their open mesh design prevents any water from pooling and helps the soap dry quickly. I am so sad they don't carry them any more because I loved giving them as presents with the soap!   Are there any Yules from *PAST* years that you're interested in trying? Including past winter inquisitions? I can't think of any, but I have a new appreciation for pine/woodsy scents, especially paired with "cold." I wouldn't mind trying some of the old ones along those lines.   Are you a Harry Potter fan? If so, which house do you identify with, and why? Would you want knitted things/replicas/accessories in your house colours? I have always thought of myself as a Ravenclaw. That said, I got sorted as Slytherin at Pottermore and don't think it's wrong. I could rock out either house scarf.   Let's talk about fruit! Do you like dried fruit or h ate it? Like some but not others? I like almost all dried fruit except bananas. Those are just ick.   How do you feel about cherries? Prefer the sweet or tart versions? Dried? Jam? Salsa? Hot sauce? BBQ sauce? I live in the land of cherries (hence, why I asked this), so please don't send me any!   What is your general philosophy about patterns for accessories such as socks, scarves, and tights? Do you like solids? Stripes? Polka dots? Weird patterns like harlequin-type stuff? Any of the above? I like both solid and pattern. Striped socks are a wardrobe staple for me.   chile, yay or nay? I am very pro chile. I love chili in chocolate (and hot cocoa) as well as in lots and lots of savory foods. We bought some really excellent chile flakes and powder last time we were in New Mexico and I am sad that the bags are getting low. I also cook with a lot of smoked chiles (everything from paprika to adobo and chipotle).     Would you rather have an early reveal, or would you prefer one close to the end of the round? This is totally up to my witch. I really have no preference. In most SW rounds I've personally sent out 2-4 boxes and revealed at the end. However, because of how this round is structured, I think I'm going to do one box at the end. But hopefully my bunny will know I exist long before then, even if zie doesn't get mail for a while!

Winter Holiday Swap 2011 Questions

Hi! I'm so glad you got me as your swap partner and I can't wait to see what you come up with! I'm a grad student with 2 jobs on top of school, so I'm not the best at reading the topic. If you can somehow politely nudge me if I haven't answered a question you need, please do so!   So... someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from Walgreen's to ONLY use on things for yourself. No necessities here. What do you buy? One of those Oil of Olay knock-off Clairsonics. I've always wanted to try one!   I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. Would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (It's Penzey's if you want to Google it.) Anything we can marinate chicken in!   Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? Do you prefer machine washable materials? Do you not care?)? All I have are some very thin gloves. I would love a Gryffindor scarf!   Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? This year is my and my fiance's very first Christmas tree! Our third Christmas together, but the first we've been able to have a tree and are cohabitating!   7. Would you like a special ornament? Yes please - we have none!   Tim Tams. Yay or nay? Oh, yay!   Now, a question of my own: I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? I love homemade goodies.   My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a body scrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? I am a big sugar scrub fan! I'd love a bourbon vanilla one.   Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? If yes, then what kind? Scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? I am a wax tart junkie. I don't like food-scented ones, but everything else is fair game!   Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? I will always take more socks! I love cute socks. Nothing too high though - no higher than mid-ankle please.   Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? Oh, absolutely!   New question: talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? I don't like tea or coffee. *sad trombone music* I like cocoa!   Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? Not a cosmetics fan.   Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? I am not a fan of nail polish.   Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? Classic Rankin-Bass specials, esp. Rudolph.   How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? Not a big fan.   Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online. I don't like Lush.   Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? No kids or pets. But a fiance who always likes to partake as well!   Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist? Trader Joe's anything. Especially the candy. Oh, please. A big bag full of wax tarts and TJ candy might make me die of happiness.   The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything? I am weak and already bought the Holiday Stack! So no thank you, I am good on Paintbox!   Will you be away for any part of the round? Nope!   What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything? I am dying to read Maureen Johnson's "The Name of the Star," and Tamora Pierce's "Mastiff"!   Sooo. Yules. Those just happened. What are you interested in, Bunny? I got decants of all the ones I want to try really badly, but I would love a 5 mL of Pink Snowballs!   Any crafty pursuits you've been dying to experiment with? Would you like a little kit of something you've never tried? Do you need any particular items for your new or existing stash? I latch hook, so I will always take latch hook rug kits! I do need a "nice" divided box or some such to keep the yarn bits in, but my ziplock bag system is OK for now!   Bunny, could you use a 2012 calendar, and, if so, do you like big monthly ones or the page-a-day type? My favorite calendar in the world is called "Cats Wearing Hats" or "Cats in Hats" or something like that. I am so depressed that my 2011 one is almost over.   Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms? Just Harry Potter.   Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.? Not a problem in the least!   A question: reveal, yes or no? If you are OK with it I'd like to know!   Any favorite cuddly characters? I love Garfield. (but 80s, quadruped Garfield. I hate the anthropomorphic, bipedal one that has become modern).   Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines? I would adore it if someone were to adopt a lion in my name.   Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in? Wax tarts, yes! I'd love to try the "sheets" scents, but pretty much anything non-foody!   Favorites color- My favorite color to wear is purple or blue. My favorite colors are pink, red and purple. gemstone- Sapphire, ruby, aquamarine. animal- lions phobias- things in clusters (eg: lotus blossoms, beehives)   If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? I love candy and am not too picky at all! I don't like dark chocolate, but the fiance loves it. I'd kill for a toffee chocolate orange - I can never find them anywhere!   If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? Sock Dreams (never ordered from them and I need socks!) or barnes & noble if we're being impractical. Otherwise, Kroger!

winter bunny trails

November 4th Moxie Nouveau groupon? sure, i was contemplating that myself what's your favourite colour? greens, blues, earthtones, jeweltones Your favourite gemstone?topax/citrine. i like most any colored stones   Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)? foxes, wolves, big cats, frogs, dragons   And do you have any intense phobias? not coming to mind   Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause? i think i'm physically incapable of writing fiction. Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks?i always need storage-y type stuff   November 2nd Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? not that i can think of...and i'm probably one of the only people who despises 'a christmas story' my favorite 'takes place at christmas' story is probably Love Actually, and there are a few movies I pull out at holiday time just on principle (i have an ancient nutcracker ballet taped on pbs for instance)   How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? Not averse to comics, but I don't collect anything in particular.   Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online. I can't think of anything in particular   Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? no kids, kali loves stuffed toys but unless i tell her they're hers she leaves things alone   How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any? I love honey, especially trying regional ones (i used to get tupelo honey somewhere, that was probably my favorite). Beeswax gets used occasionally for waxing book thread and other weird things like that.   Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist? I am *completely ignorant* of Trader Joe's firsthand.   The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything? I already ordered Yuletide Mariner soap since it's like my favorite ever of hers...I love Victorious Sun, Comfort and Joy sounds pretty, Snoggin' sounds kind of interesting...I'm also very interested in her new body creams.   If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you? There was some stuff I was curious about, but my lovely witch gave me a bottle of the one i really wanted (la calavera)     Will you be away for any part of the round? negative   Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Everything in my shop is up for trade. What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything?   If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie? I prefer traditional, or pretty instrumental. I think I went a little overboard answering that in my swap survey...   Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.) I might like to try a little something--I've had faintly rose flavored stuff and liked it before.   Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you wold prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun (I can go hunting, some companies make them all year round although it's not the same as the bakery Easter ones ), the raw resin itself, anything?) I'm curious here...   i live in the city of the chicken wing. if i were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter). nothing that comes wtih a warning label--i love hot food, but not if the hot is all i can taste. If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? anything that my fox thinks would fall in with my interests would be lovely.   If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? not big on the whole salt/meat thing in chocolate, but other than that i'm pretty open. i like peanuts in chocolate more than peanut butter, though i like peanut butter well enough on its own.   as far as holiday candies...not even sure what would count for christmas candy...the white honey nougat stuff, clove candy canes. <ponder> most sweets i associate with the holidays are baked.   Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you? quite a bit, but i'm thinking i might try to make my own sweets in their image, as it were, since they're pretty spendy. most of the marshmallows and caramels sound lovely though.   Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? Interested, yes, will actually get, no. I windowshop, favorite lots of stuff, and move along. =)   October 30   Dear Snow Bunnies: Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? I do trees! Well, we'll see this year--I have a thing for live trees but they never actually make it to the yard. =( I will at least be decorating my poor beleagured norfolk pine. As for themes, it's a little bit of everything, but I tend to lean toward nature based stuff, plus all the friend and family ornaments I've started to accumulate. Would you like a special ornament? Sure!   Tim Tams. Yay or nay? No thank you. One of the specialty shops here in town actually carries the Aussie ones, so I can indulge as needed. =)   I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? I am southern, I fear neither butter nor sugar, lol. Homemade stuff is wonderful, but if my fox is a non-kitchenista, this is also perfectly fine.   Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? hypothetically yes, practically, not so much. I share a very well-populated kitchen.   My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? I am the bearer of winter lizardskin, therefore scrubs are joy and wonderment. Moister is better for me, probably sugar though I could use either, and as far as scents, I tend to use citruses, lavender, clove, bergamot, and cedarwood oils in stuff like my hair rinse, so things along those lines I know are good.   Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? I like plain candles if I'm actually supposed to burn them, I won't melt the pretties. <sheepish> I like some lightly foodie scents (a nice light vanilla), not-too-sweet fruity scents, a true christmas tree scent...   Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores I do use soaps, but I tend to go fruity, spicy, or outdoorsy in my selections, rather than the pure foodie.   Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? I've never done sock dreams since I can't bear to spend that much on socks that I will probably wreck in a not-very-long time. I tend to be a barefooter, though in the winter my sub-zero feet are covered. I like soft slippers, smooshy socks etc., to protect me from my own feet. I do wear socks in my shoes in the winter, too, I just tend to get the cheapish dept store varieties that I don't feel guilty when they get holes in them.   Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? http://www.ravelry.c...gap-tastic-cowl I would, though for me a hooded cowl would be more practical. Any color that is not neon or pastel would be lovely.   talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? Ground is more practical, though we do have a grinder. Leaded or unleaded are both fine--we drink caffeine early and decaf if we make a pot at night. Drip pot, though I do have a french press. Flavors are welcome, just not mint. (I have friends that love peppermint coffee at Christmas, I'm happy to have it once for the season. Much prefer spiced blends.) Oddly enough, though, this is a primarily tea household. Tea is always a winning thing, black, green, flavored black, herbal, chai (as long as it's not like ZOMGANISE flavored).   Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? Nothing in particular jumps out.   Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try? Never tried anything of theirs. I can always use lotions in the winter, some of their non-baked-goods scents sounded nice...any of the citrus, tea, or things like black, black blood, the un-red   Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? I think I am quite possibly set for life on nail polish, though I am kind of curious about the crackle effect stuff.   If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) Sentimental Initiation, The Butterfly, and an imp of Embalming Fluid     October 29th   So... someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from Walgreen's to ONLY use on things for yourself. No necessities here. What do you buy? blackest black Almay mascara (it doesn't hurt my eyes, yay), haribo gold bears, a skor bar or a lindt white coconut, bobby pins, maybe a fancy hair thing   I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (it's penzey's if you want to google it). I would walk in there and die. Seriously, holy crow. I am intrigued by the variety of cinnamons. As far as spices I think the list of no-likes would be more efficient: I don't cook with thyme, rosemary, fennel ever. Oh! If they have *ground* marjoram (quite literally powdered) that is one of the holy grails of cooking around here that is a beast to find.   Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? do you prefer machine washable materials? do you not care?)? No fiber sensitivities as long as it's soft. Nothing dryclean only please, but I have no problems handwashing and blocking something. Colors anything but pastels and neons--earth and jewel tones work best for me.   hey swap partner...could you use a new mug? I love mugs, especially big, handmade type ones. I posted a picture of my cherished clement clayworks tea mug in the thread.   Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try? Nooshi rice cracker mix (it was like soy-sauce glazed, haven't found it in years), pretzels from these guys in pennsylvania http://www.uniquesplits.com/pretzels-splits.asp... I'm a food-and-drink lover, so I'd love to try any interesting regional things from my fox's area.

Winter Fun Swap 2011 Questions

November 12th   chile, yay or nay? (Example: I had a delicious dark chocolate bar the other day that had dried cherries and red chile....YUM! There are local cookies here that are shortbread type with chile. And of course, in NM we are famous for our chile ristras which are mostly decorative (though usually you could use the dried chiles if you wanted to).)   I do like spicy things, so I'd probably appreciate chile chocolate, especially with cherries!   November 11th   Let's talk about fruit! Do you like dried fruit or h ate it? Like some but not others?   How do you feel about cherries? Prefer the sweet or tart versions? Dried? Jam? Salsa? Hot sauce? BBQ sauce?   What is your general philosophy about patterns for accessories such as socks, scarves, and tights? Do you like solids? Stripes? Polka dots? Weird patterns like harlequin-type stuff? Any of the above?   November 10th   Would anyone else be interested in a soap dish or something like that?   I'd love a non-breakable one that has a way to keep the soap dry. I used to have a soap dish in my shower, but I knocked it off the side of the tub and broke it.   If your fox were to knit something for you, would it be a lacy shawl or a pair of socks?   I have plenty of socks, so I'd prefer a not-too-lacy shawlette personally - I wouldn't wear a full on lacy shawl because it's just not my style, but a shawlette that can be used like a scarf would be good.   Are you a Harry Potter fan? If so, which house do you identify with, and why? Would you want knitted things/replicas/accessories in your house colours?   I do like Harry Potter. I already have a Gryffindor scarf that I knit. (I'd probably pick Ravenclaw, but my sister got that one and we needed a full set of houses.) I have a couple t-shirts as well, and that's probably enough for me.   Are there any Yules from *PAST* years that you're interested in trying? Including past winter inquisitions?   I got a decant of Mid Winter's Eve and I quite like it.   November 9th   Sooo. Yules. Those just happened. What are you interested in, Bunny?   I just sniffed a bunch at Seattle Will Call, and most of them were pretty bad on me. Honestly I only really like about 5% of the scents I try, and that's after weeding out several death notes. I have funky skin chemistry.   Do you like coin purses?   I have a really cute one.   November 7th   What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular.   I like both of those along with cloves, cinnamon, and many others.   Do you like artisan oils and vinegars?   Not especially.   Bunny, could you use a 2012 calendar, and, if so, do you like big monthly ones or the page-a-day type?   Please not a page-a-day, I think they're a waste of paper. My cousin once got me a "Green" page-a-day - what an oxymoron! I could use a bigger monthly one if my fox has an idea, but it's not a huge priority.   November 6th   Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines?   I like to buy Fair Trade stuff when it's available. As far as donating to a charity, I usually donate my time but if my fox wanted to do something like that, I volunteer for PAWS, a local animal shelter / wildlife rehabilitation facility.   Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in?   I don't have a tart burner, and I'd probably prefer candles anyway.   Do you need any holiday recipies? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? And for those of you doing the no sugar/low sugar, etc. thing these days, how about savory things?   I'm always up for more vegetarian holiday recipes. I love to bake myself, and I'd certainly appreciate baked goods from my fox. As for savory stuff, as long as it's veggie then I'd be up to try it, but I'm really more of a sweet tooth person.   Speaking about candles, how much do you look forward to the BPTP candles that will be launched on Etsy? I don't know if there will be other scents than the Samhain and Pumpkin Cookie one, but is there a specific one you are longing for?   I like candles, but I rarely remember to actually light them. That said, I think I'd like Pumpkin Cookie.   Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.?   No, as long as it's something reasonable like a book and not panties.   Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms?   I am a scientist, and a crazy knitter, but I don't really consider myself a nerd. I'm interested in science because of work (and in general) but I'm not your typical "nerdy" scientist person.   Bunnies, how do you feel about lemon-flavored items, like lemon marmalade, lemon curd, lemon pound cake, or lemon cookies?   Love! Lemon is one of my favorite flavors.   fingerless mittens or full mitts?   I'd like some fingerless mitts, especially if they're longish and cover a lot of the fingers without covering the fingertips (like, not ending at the top of the palm).   November 4th   reveal, yes or no?   I'm planning to reveal and I hope my fox does too!   Any favorite cuddly characters?   Not really.   Moxie Nouveau groupon?   I got one for myself.   what's your favourite colour?   Blue! I also like purple (especially blue-purple), silver, grey, and black.   Your favourite gemstone?   Sapphire or other blue stones.   Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)?   I love cats and tropical fish, and bats, and horses... I like a lot of animals.   And do you have any intense phobias?   I don't like clowns or most dolls, but it's not really a phobia. But I'd prefer you didn't send me clown stuff. I have a semi-phobia of spit, but I can't imagine how or why you'd send that, so stay away from photos of drooly dogs or other animals and we should be good. Other than that no.   Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause?   Nope!   Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks?   My bottles are fitting nicely in their box, but I wouldn't mind a box for storing imps if my fox has found a good solution.   November 2nd   Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own?   Nope!   How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero?   I am ambivalent about superheros.   Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online.   I do like their stuff, though I don't take baths too often and I already have a little stock of bath bombs. I love the I Love Juicy shampoo and use it often, but I have about half of a big bottle right now.   would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents?   I stlll have little soaps from my last one that I haven't tried yet. I really don't use much bar soap.   Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety?   I have two cats (one of them actually just stepped on the keyboard alerting me to this question by typing letters after it!) and they'd love little toys or treats but they don't really need them.   How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any?   I like honey quite a bit, and love beeswax candles!   Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist?   I do like Trader Joe's, but I have one pretty close.   The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything?   Snoggin' sounds interesting, but I'm a bit worried it might be too boozy. I do like mint, so White Snow, Bright Snow might be good. And Comfort and Joy sounds promising other than the wine. I need little sniffies!   If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you?   Autumn Cider! It's really the only one that was good on me this year.   Will you be away for any part of the round?   At this point I have no plans to be away except for maybe next weekend, and even if I did it would likely only be for a couple days.   Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Everything in my shop is up for trade.   I don't have a shop, but if someone is interested in trading me something for a knitted accessory for their bunny, we could probably work something out!   What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything?   Well, according to the librarian I like "stories of individuals struggling, but not always overcoming mighty forces, often evil".   We have this thing where you can fill out an online request for your next 5 books based on what you like, and that's how the librarian described my taste. But, to be fair, the books he suggested sound really good!   I actually have a big pile of books that I haven't read yet, but if my fox thinks I'll really like something I'd definitely be open to it.   If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie?   Not really. I like choral versions of traditional Christmas songs (carols etc.) but I wouldn't listen to it outside a live performance that occurred within a week or so of Christmas. (I get really annoyed by how Christmas stuff has now overlapped Halloween practically. It's not even Thanksgiving, no Christmas until December 1st at the earliest!)   Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.)   I'm not a big fan of floral flavors, but I do like Turkish Delight in fruity flavors.   Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you wold prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun (I can go hunting, some companies make them all year round although it's not the same as the bakery Easter ones ), the raw resin itself, anything?)   I have no idea what mastic tastes like, but I'd give it a try as long as it's vegetarian!   i live in the city of the chicken wing. if i were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter).   Well, I don't eat chicken wings, but for other savory food items, I do like spicy stuff and sweet + spicy. I like my spice medium-hot. Spicy enough that it tastes spicy, but not so much that the hot flavor overwhelms everything else.   If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like?   Maybe Amazon, since a friend is probably giving me a used Kindle and I could get books for it. I go to Starbucks occasionally, so a card from there would definitely get used. And I do love Sock Dreams!   If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies?   I would love nuts or cherries, or both! Avoid bacon (obviously). I like nuts, fruit, and especially marzipan in my chocolate.   Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you?   I can't have caramel because of my braces, and marshmallows usually have gelatin, so probably not.   Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update?   It's pretty, but I don't wear much jewelry.   October 30   Dear Snow Bunnies: Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such?   I don't do a Christmas tree.   Would you like a special ornament?   As long as it's not specifically Christmas, I could hang it somewhere in my house year-round!   Tim Tams. Yay or nay?   Yay! So far I've just tried the original and caramel (maybe Dulce de Leche?) flavors. I'd love some more exotic ones.   I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store?   I have no problem eating things that my swap partner makes for me (or someone else, I suppose!) as long as they're vegetarian! But the thought of deep fried cookies does make me pause.   Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed?   I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and don't usually entertain, plus my dishes came with a few serving pieces so I think I'm set.   My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist?   Sure! I'm a big fan of citrus scents, and I'd go with moist but not too oily - my skin is pretty oily other than my legs.   Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted?   Yes, though I have to remember to light them more often! I like foodie scents, especially fruit and baked goods - citrus is probably my favorite. I have a lemon bar one that's pretty fantastic. And I'd love them if they were decorative, though I'd probably save them for display rather than burn them. Last year I got some beautiful handmade Halloween candles with Jack O' Lantern faces and I have them on display all year!   Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores   I usually have a little soap in my bathroom for handwashing, so I do use them but not very quickly. I also have quite a stock, so I don't really need any but if my snowflake is inspired to send me a special one then it will be used eventually.   Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams?   I adore socks, I have many that I've knit and wear them most of the winter. I'm also a big fan of novelty socks, though knee high and OTK ones usually don't fit because I have really big calves.   I don't really have slippers, though I've been thinking that it might be nice to have some cozy ones to wear around the house so my feet don't get cold. If they had enough of a sole to be able to go out and get the mail (a short walk down some outside stairs, no walking on dirt!) then that would be a plus too.   Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? http://www.ravelry.c...gap-tastic-cowl   I'd give it a try! I don't know if that particular cowl is really my style, I have a smaller one that I wear a lot in the winter, though.   talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA?   I don't have a coffee-making apparatus at home, but I will drink mochas at coffee shops. I do make tea often, and especially enjoy chai!   Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like?   I don't really wear makeup, but if it's a lip gloss / balm or a skincare thing I'd be willing to try it.   Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences?   I almost never paint my nails, it doesn't work well with my job.   If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!)   I'd get another bottle of Autumn Cider, cuz it's yummy. And some imps off my wishlist maybe? I'm at the point where I have lots of stuff to test but don't really need any more bottles of my fave GCs. Although a backup Snake OIl wouldn't hurt...   October 29th   So... someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from Walgreen's to ONLY use on things for yourself. No necessities here. What do you buy?   A scented candle maybe, some face washing cloth things - I like them when I'm too lazy to splash water around and clean it up at night , film for my camera, a candy bar.   I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (it's penzey's if you want to google it).   I have most of the ones I use regularly (chili powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cumin, basil, oregano, cardamom, bay leaves, etc.) but if you want to send me a recipe and it has a weird spice then I'd love some.   Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? do you prefer machine washable materials? do you not care?)?   Of course I do, I'm a knitter! My favorite colors are blue, purple, black, grey, and some greens (bluer is better than yellow. As far as fiber, I don't use silk or other fibers that require killing the animal (possum etc.) but wool is OK. It doesn't have to be machine washable, I handwash a lot of stuff already.   hey swap partner...could you use a new mug?   I love mugs! I especially love the Starbucks mugs from different cities with the light blue building drawings on them. If my swapper has a Starbucks nearby and can still find them in stock I'd love one.   Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try?   I like regional treats / candy, but I can't think of anything specific.

Whole bean/ground/loose leaf/bags? Tea and hot cocoa ,I prefer decaffeinated or herbals in tea. Bags are great I can carry them to work to make tea in the mornings.   Do you have a strong preference for any sort of bath and body product brands (i.e. etailer/etsy type cos, department store/specialty brands like Lush) or are you cool with anything that doesn't smell like Bunnybane? I am not picky as long as it smells good. I do like a nice body powder as long as in does not smell real floral or fruity. I know seems odd, but the one I have now is from Moona Lisa and smells like really expensive head shop.

swap questions part 3

Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? as much as i love things with turkeys on them, i've pretty much run out of room in my house.   I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? handmade is completely fine. the only real food allergy around here is scallops.     My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? sure! either salt or sugar is fine, and any grain is fine. i have horribly dry skin in the winter. scents for scrubs- pretty much anything other than floral or really, really heavy floral. i do prefer them on the drier side.   Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted?   unscented is preferable but i'll burn anything other than floral. all colors would a use. i could use some tealights for my yule log. i don't mind decorations. same with pretty much any style.   Also what do you think of little soaps?   honestly i prefer gels or scrubs so most soap gets frimped.   Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? i like little ballet flat style slippers. socks for me are utilitarian items; i don't see the appeal of sock dreams in my life right now...but i wouldn't say no to a ball or two of sock yarn!   Dear Snow Bunnies: Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such?   oh my infamous christmas tree. it's white. we've been decorating it in ice blue, royal blue, silver, and white. however i would never be upset if i got decorations in other colors.   Would you like a special ornament? sure!   would you wear a cowl?     honestly? probably not. i have a couple that i made that i'm tempted to tear out for the yarn.   Tim Tams. Yay or nay?   yes!   new question: talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BING ON THE TEA?   ground would be best but my blender will grind beans. caffinated please! we drink a lot of dark roast and i like spice flavored coffees. we have all three- drip, french, and keurig. we do drinka lot of tea as well, and my boyfriend was looking for hot chocolate last night.

Winter Holiday Fun Swap questions

Like I said in the swap's thread, it had to be done (at the rate that the questions are multiplying anyway). Now let's go back and hunt for my comments, shall we?   1.So...someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from walgreens to ONLY use on things for yourself. no necessities here. what do you buy? Walgreens? *googles* Hn. A pharmacy with chocolate? That's strange. Oh. They have Lindt. I would just hang out in the chocolate aisle (maybe get some nice smelling shower gel too).   2.I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (it's penzey's if you want to google it). Mmm spices. Yes. Spices are love. ♥ Cinnamon, cocoa, vanilla are the ones that come to mind. Also coriander. *says the person that puts saffron in her omelettes* In general I like spices and trying out new flavors (I have an adventurous tongue) so I will give anything a go!   3.Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? do you prefer machine washable materials? do you not care?)? Yes, knitted stuff is fun! I have knitted 2 scarves in the past 2 years and they tend to be under appreciated (thankfully mine weren't ^^) because no one thinks about how long it actually takes you to knit the damn thing. :| Colors that I like are black and red mostly. Dark purple rocks and I am fine with white. I despise pink (sorry pink, it just doesn't work out between the two of us) and prefer dark colors. No sensitivities here, yay for wool (although I would be hesitant about taking it out in the rain ) and I don't care much about washing machinery because most knitted stuff gets hand washed anyway.   4.Hey swap partner...could you use a new mug? I have some cute mugs with chubby animals in them, and I never use them because they are too cute. @_@ (I do use my Will Coyote one though ) So, I don't need one, but if I got one, it would be welcome.   5.Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try? Yes... Pretty much anything non Greek. I have eaten Indian once in my life (this summer when I visited a friend in Finland of all places) and it was awesome. I want to do it again. In general I love trying out new flavors, so eating new stuff makes me happy (unless they are alive and wiggling.. in which case I will probably pass >>). Also, as I mentioned in another comment, maple syrup! It is impossible to find it here and I have never tried it (and I want to make pancakes and slather them in it dammit).   6.Dear Snow Bunnies: Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? Would you like a special ornament? Yes, we do one every year, and it is sad that I am the only one in the family that wants it and actually enjoys decorating it (as long as I have company). We use red and gold colors (and a couple of transparent glass-like ornaments) on a green tree and it is pretty. There are various ornaments including balls, transparent angels, little mushrooms (hohoho >>) ... I am proud about the fact that I have gotten the prettiest of them as a small gift to the family. Special ornament? I like the sound of that. ^^ 7.I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? I have no problem with home baked goodies at all. ♥ However, I live in Greece, so if my fox lives in the US, by the time they get here they might... not be in the best condition. So, only if they are something that doesn't spoil in 2-3 weeks (Or my fox is from Europe and they arrive faster. I tried it last year with cake from an English friend. When I got it it was all crumbs, but it was still delicious and not spoiled. ).   8.Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? I never thought about that. I don't have a special shortage of bowls (I have a couple that I usually eat my cereal in), although I wouldn't say no to a pretty tray or platter. Winter, Fall, Christmas, sure. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Greece though, so that one would be kind of odd.   9.My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? Oh goodness, body scrubs are such a luxury I don't get any. @_@ (I really should indulge myself more) I would probably prefer sugar since I have this horrible sweet tooth (I know they are not edible, but still... ^^) and I would prefer a more oily scrub even though my skin itself is oily because they feel so decadent on it. ♥ As for scents, I also like warm winter scents (like cinnamon/orange/cloves and nice spicy stuff), but I also like scents that smell of woods (green). Or a simple nice relaxing lavender one can always do wonders.   10.Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? For candles, I prefer them scented ( same scents as in the oil question, also chocolate!111 ♥ ). I have no problem with the color, although I notice that the ones with decorations on the outside are a bugger to actually burn (to be honest I have a couple and have yet to light them up because of that; I am afraid the glitter will fall in the candle and start up sparks if it gets close to the flame and something bad might happen).   11.Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores I think I answered my own soap question..   12.Tim Tams. Yay or nay? I have never tried those, but they sound incredibly delicious (and hey, they are sweet! Sign me up!).   13.Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? I don't wear slippers at home (I have a pair of flip flops that I use for the bathroom) and every day I just wear black socks that end at my ankle. However, I am a sucker for striped ones ( knee/over knee high, thigh high, tights). I like colors like black, red, grey, white, purple in general but for striped socks I would also wear black and orange or something silly like that (anything except pink). Sock dreams? *googles* Oh my... So... many.. striped... >> And the leg/arm warmers... Mreow.   14.Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gap-tastic-cowl I hadn't paid attention to these before. It doesn't seem to be long, but it does the job (of keeping one's neck warm, that is). Seems warm and cozy. (As for colors, if you get me something black, red or a combination of both, you can't go bad. )   15.Talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? I don't really drink coffee (except cappuccino a couple of times per year because it tastes nice and I love cinnamon ♥) but I do like my tea. Earl Grey, plain black (English breakfast), spicy (love apple/cinnamon), herbal, anything goes. For some reason I don't like green tea much, but other than that I haven't found any teas I don't like yet. I would love to try anything unusual/new/funky (I have this box of black tea, rose and cinnamon flavor in my parents' place that I bought in the summer from Finland and I can't wait to give it a try when I visit now that the cold is rolling in).   16.Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? I don't put on makeup often (just a couple of times per year) because I think that it makes me look like a clown. I just use black mascara and black eye pencil, so that's pretty much all the makeup I would like.   17.Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try? *googles* Oh, that whipped soap sounds nice. So do those skin cleansers. And the scrubs. And the shampoos. (And pretty much everything). *looks at the scent base* Black, black voodoo, Cake on Mondays, English cathedral, Pumpkin Spider Cider and Sandman are some of the first I would like to try. One more for my bookmarks!   18.Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? I do paint my nails every now and then, but not often enough. If I got nail polish though, I would like a good quality black color (It is so hard to find compared to other colors; only the cheap brands make black colors in the beauty stores over here, and by black I mean black and not dark brown or something. And the low quality stuff is not good anymore after a few months).   19.If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) Stuff from my wishlist of course!   20.How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? Superheroes are cool, although I don't ever think about terms of Marvel or DC. I like Batman (along with many others I suppose ) and X-Men, mostly Wolverine and Cyclops. I also adore Gaiman's Sandman but he is not a superhero (he is Dream). 21.Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? Holiday DVD? As in a Christmas movie of some sorts? I can't think of anything right now (maybe home alone or it's a wonderful life; I have watched them a few times but they are still classics).   22.Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online. What a coincidence, I was checking out Lush yesterday. I would really like to give their shampoo bars a go ( especially the one that encourages hair growth; I adore long hair and sadly I can't get mine to get any longer, because it seems it has reached it's natural limit :/) and the tramp shower gel. I was also checking out the freedom perfumes and the breath of God (inhale, mostly). Most of their lip balms sound amazing as well and I will have to get me some at some point (although I will probably eat them more than I will actually wear them). Damn you internet for exposing me to so many nice smelling stuff.   23.Also, question, dearest bunnies: would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents? As far as soapworks are concerned: They sound incredibly delicious (and yes, I know they are not edible). Doing a quick skim through, I would like to try Blackbird, Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground, Silken Peony, Gold,Frankincense and Myrrh (♥♥♥) and Beet It.   24.Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? Nope. No kids and no pets (I will get a puppy one day though dammit).   25.How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any? Beeswax is possibly my favorite smell on earth and I love trying out new and unusual honeys. (Saw Palmetto honey is A++ guys, take my word for it.) Honey is good. My mother buys a couple of kilos every year (enough to last us through the winter) from a coworker who has his own beehives and only makes enough for his family and a few others and we know that it is organic (and delicious!). I have seen some combinations in supermarkets like "honey with sour cherry" or "honey with something" but I haven't actually tried them. I would be curious to do so one day and see what they're about.   26.Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist? As I have never been to the US, I haven't tried any of their stuff. I do have an adventurous palate though, so any exciting new food prospect makes my taste buds tingle. In other words, I am more than willing to try out their stuff.   27.The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything? From what I read, Snoggin' and Comfort and Joy sound interesting (especially comfort and joy; I love my warm spicy scents).   28.If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you? (presuming that is that the order can get here in time, bites nails) Weenie, you mean BPAL? If yes, then an imp or two from my wishlist. If not, I'm willing to give most things a go except light florals.   29.Will you be away for any part of the round? I will probably be away for a couple of days when my uni exam period ends and I leave the dorms (I will let people in the thread know when that happens), and maybe for a weekend when my best friend has her name day and has invited me to visit so that we can have a girly weekend and stuff (will also let you know if that goes through). Other than that I'll be here pretty much every day.   30.Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Everything in my shop is up for trade. I don't have an etsy store, just an account. :/   31.What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything? Mmm I like sci fi and fantasy mostly and I have a very soft spot for discworld (I have read up to guards! guards! and should get the next few books of the series at some point). I also have many Philip Dick ones and a few classics on my amazon wishlist, along with Lovecraft's 3 volumes omnibus collection. I have included my amazon wishlist in my questionnaire anyway (so that my fox can get a grasp of what I am interested in, I'm not expecting anything from it ), so if you are my fox, that will help you.   32.If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie? I am one of those few remaining people that still enjoy Christmas music, although it must be said I enjoy the classics myself instead of new pop songs. It's not Christmas without Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!, or white Christmas, or rocking around the Christmas tree (but that song is so much fun).   33.Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.) I like roses and all the rose things that I have listed (this was my question). <3 (Someone make a rose chocolate! Now!111) Although as far as Turkish delight is concerned, my favorite flavor is the brown one, but I don't remember what it's taste is supposed to be...   34.Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you wold prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun (I can go hunting, some companies make them all year round although it's not the same as the bakery Easter ones ), the raw resin itself, anything?) Another question from me. I like mastic and I adore our Easter buns, but I am not expecting my fox to get me any (I can probably get it much cheaper from my local supermarket anyway).   35.I live in the city of the chicken wing. If I were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter). I think somewhere along the middle range. I used to be a big tabasco fan but I've been clean for the past 2-3 years or so (wow, that sounds bad. ). I like things that are hot, but not so hot that I can't taste anything else. I like sweet and sour combinations, but I have never tried sweet and hot. I would be willing to try though.   36.If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? Can never go wrong with amazon (the uk one because shipping is cheaper).   37.If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? Maybe bacon. I don't think I would like chocolate with bacon. As for holiday candies I really like the traditional Greek ones that we make (honey macaroons and butter cookies) but anything with chocolate goes, as long as Christmas puddings, logs, gingersnaps etc. I have said it many times; I have a sweet tooth and an adventurous palate, so I am very easy to please.   38.Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you? That spiced apple cider thingy sounds delicious. Other than that, I have a huge sweet tooth, so... anything?   39.Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? Not really, thanks. They look beautiful but nothing that would replace my current loves. ♥   40.How about mulling spices? Not very familiar with this process, but sure, why not?   41.What was the best holiday present you ever got? Uh, that's a hard one. It wasn't a holiday present per se, but my computer. Typically winter holiday though, I have no idea. I don't seem to get many anymore and Barbie's bedroom from when I was 4 doesn't count. ^^"   42.Bunny, what scent are you desperately wanting to be resurrected this year with the Anniversary update? Sadly, I am not familiar enough with BPAL oils to be able to offer any significant input (I have a bottle and a few imps and I want to try so many more). So, I have no idea.   43.Groupon for Moxie Nouveau! Dear Bunneh, is this something that would interest you? Yes.   44.Bun-bun, what's your favourite colour? Your favourite gemstone? Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)? And do you have any intense phobias? Favourite colour: Black, second choice red. I know it's a passive aggressive combination but I love these two together. Favourite gemstone: Amethyst and black rocks (onyx, jet - which is wood actually - and obsidian). I also like rubies (but that's something I would ask for an engagement ring or something ). Favourite animal: Wolves. They are magnificent, beautiful, amazing... As far as imaginary critters go, I like dragons, phoenixes and unicorns (doesn't everyone?). Phobias: Not really.   45.Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause? I have known about nano for the past 6 years or something, but I never tried it. I don't have the time usually (university lessons, not enough motivation) even though I like the idea. I have written a 40K word count story though (it took me a couple of months at my own pace), so I know I can do it if I have the inspiration. It's just that usually I get the plots in my head and then make characters to suit them, but for the last 3 years or so,it is the exact opposite. I have been having this bunch of characters in my head, but only a two line plot for the story (as in, main idea) and have no idea how to fill the rest of it. I'm hopelessly stuck. :/ I have no idea about nano merchandise, but donations for a good cause are always something to be proud of.   46. (Not exactly a question, concerning adding the people from the round in other sites). As for adding people, I have no facebook (on principle), one twitter account that I almost never use, but I am fairly active on DA (deviantart) and a bit on tumblr as well (although I just reblog funny posts over there). Here is my DA account: http://kakashimorph.deviantart.com/ And my tumblr: http://kakashimorph.tumblr.com/   47.Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks? I would like something to keep my imps organized in (right now I am using a simple plastic thingy that you are supposed to keep your makeup brushes in and stuff, and it is running out of space), but other than that I'm good.   48.Do you have a strong preference for any sort of bath and body product brands (i.e. etailer/etsy type cos, department store/specialty brands like Lush) or are you cool with anything that doesn't smell like Bunnybane? I don't have a particular preference for brands, as long as things smell good. Of course I have drooled over things at lush/an etsy store or two/or even my local beauty store, but I am pretty much cool with anything.   49.A question: reveal, yes or no? Yes please, if you are fine with it. I will probably reveal myself to my bunny in the end as well. :3   50.Any favorite cuddly characters? Not really. I have a few plushies that are extremely soft, fluffy and cuddle-able (I sleep with a puppy and a lion), so if I'm getting any cuddly stuff, that's the way to go. Unless it is an awesome Cloud/Sephiroth plush. And no bad comments about me sleeping with plushies please. X3   51.Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines? I said in a previous question (I think?) that charities are always something to be proud of.   52.Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in? Sure, they sound nice. I did a quick run through and the first thing that caught my eye was Mae West's Diamonds.   53.Do you need any holiday recipies? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? And for those of you doing the no sugar/low sugar, etc. thing these days, how about savory things? I'm not doing any low sugar/no sugar diets at the moment (or ever). As for something particular... I have no idea. So many things to try, so little time. I am open to pleasant surprises.   54. Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.? Nope! As long as they are not falling apart at the seams or every other page is stained with coffee or tea, I'm fine.   55.Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms? Right now? True Blood. I haven't read the books (which is a surprise because of the amount of books I read) but the series is deliciously yummy. It is sexy, funny, gory, suspenseful, everything rolled into one. Of course, Eric's actor (Alexander Skarsgard) only helps. I also like white wolf's vampire the masquerade universe (it's a pen and paper RPG) but that is too obscure I think. Moreover, general science nerdiness. Schrodinger's cat is a zombie, Tesla was the most amazing mad scientist ever and the Higgs boson is the biggest troll in the universe, laughing at us for looking for it. And Lovecraft. His works are amazing and Cthulhu should run for President (why vote for the lesser evil?). I'm kidding about the President part, but I really like Lovecraft's work. ♥ Last but not least, Bioware games (the Dragon Age and Mass effect ones, I even have a DA grey warden thermal and a DA 2 T-shirt) and the Monkey Island games. The humor in them floors me.   56.Bunnies, how do you feel about lemon-flavored items, like lemon marmalade, lemon curd, lemon pound cake, or lemon cookies? I like lemon flavored things. Lemon cake with caster sugar sprinkled on top and strawberry jam, yum. The thought alone makes me drool a bit.   57.Pink? It is the only colour that I dislike. I only tolerate it in small amounts in racy underwear (like black and pink), but other than that I don't wear it. My biggest contact with it at the point is some lovely rose scented candles that I have in pale pink. I'm sorry.   58.Fingerless mittens or full mitts? Hmmmm.. Full I suppose. Though I prefer gloves over mittens, because I can actually move my fingers - even with limited mobility. I don't personally get the fingerless type really, because it's my fingers that get frozen, less so the rest of the hands. Oh well.   59.What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular. I like anise. We tend to flavour a couple of things with anise in Greece (ouzo, which is booze springs immediately to mind) and it is nice and refreshing. I don't remember what cardamom tastes like, but feel free to try me.   60.Do you like artisan oils and vinegars? Are artisan oils oils that have herbs in them? If that is the case, I have seen them around but never tried them. I am willing to give them a try though, as long as they come with serving suggestions. As far as vinegars are concerned, I love balsamic vinegar and add it to my food whenever I can get away with it. I am neutral about normal vinegar and don't use the apple cider one much, but balsamic is something I fangirl over. So, if it is something similar, by all means.   61.Any crafty pursuits you’ve been dying to experiment with? Would you like a little kit of something you’ve never tried? Do you need any particular items for your new or existing stash? I am a very basic knitter, and I only have 2 or 3 pairs of needles. I wouldn't say no to a couple more. Or some non acrylic yarn. It is amazingly difficult to find non acrylics over here (in pretty much any color except black or white). :/ I also want to try sweet pastry stuff decorations, I am not sure if that counts as a craft though.   62.Bunny, could you use a 2012 calendar, and, if so, do you like big monthly ones or the page-a-day type? Mmm, I haven't gotten myself any 2012 calendars yet, so why not? I like the ones that have a big picture/artwork for every month. As for themes I enjoy gothic stuff, fantasy and Johhny Depp.   63.Do you prefer dark or milk chocolate? Milk. I can also do with dark but in small quantities. The real dark chocolate monster in my family is my mother, and I don't plan to share... *hoards all the chocolate*   64.Do you like coin purses? They are cute, but I don't use them. I have a wallet for everything else and I just put the coins in my pockets.   65.Ok, random question that came to me in the shower (sorry ) I have a ton of soaps and not one soap dish. Would anyone else be interested in a soap dish or something like that? Not right now, thank you. My mom has a few that she keeps getting for free with her soap purchases from the local beauty store and she has given me one or two, so I am good.   66.ALSO. I have a question. If your fox were to knit something for you, would it be a lacy shawl or a pair of socks? Inquiring foxes want to know! Mmmm. I would have to say shawl. I have never had one (yet). 67.Are you a Harry Potter fan? If so, which house do you identify with, and why? Would you want knitted things/replicas/accessories in your house colours? Yes! I am a Ravenpuff ( H_E sorted me as Ravenclaw with Hufflepuff being really close, as in a couple of votes close). I prefer the blue of Ravenclaw and the black of Hufflepuff (as I love black), but I do have a Ravenclaw tie on my wishlist somewhere... Things in Ravenclaw colours: Sure, why not?   68.Are there any Yules from *PAST* years that you're interested in trying? Including past winter inquisitions? I am not familiar at all with past Yules, so I can't really say. Sorry.   69. (oh la la)Let's talk about fruit! Do you like dried fruit or hate it? Like some but not others? I like fruits and I like dried fruits. I prefer apricots and figs over prunes, but that's pretty much all I can think of. Dos anything else come in dried form? 70.How do you feel about cherries? Prefer the sweet or tart versions? Dried? Jam? Salsa? Hot sauce? BBQ sauce? Mmm I love cherries and I love sour cherries too (their juice=love). Jam is nice, I had no idea they came in died form (would be willing to try it), also.. What is salsa? Cherry hot sauce? Cherry BBQ sauce? These all sound exciting even though I have no idea what they will taste like!   71.Bunnies! What is your general philosophy about patterns for accessories such as socks, scarves, and tights? Do you like solids? Stripes? Polka dots? Weird patterns like harlequin-type stuff? Any of the above? Mmmm stripes. I have a small fetish with striped socks and I also like them in scarves as well.   72.So, apparently Geek Chic Cosmetics will be closing down next week to prep for a huge sale and a new line - the words "bigger on the inside" have been used for the new line. Bunny, are you interested in anything from Geek Chic Cosmetics? I don't use makeup a lot (as in, twice a year?) but I use lip balm every day. If they have something that moisturizes and nurtures lips, I would be all for it.   73.Sooo. Yules. Those just happened. What are you interested in, Bunny? Yes. Ondurdis and Yule 2011 and I signed up in a decant circle, but if they turn out to be as awesome as I think,I will probably go for bottle.   74.Chiles? I don't work with them much, so I will be fine with a small quantity.   74.I had a question for everyone else though! A friend and I were recently talking about those Giant Microbe plushies, if you were my bunneh, would you like one? Which would you like? I remember those! They are so cute I should get around to getting some for the geekiness of it <3, I remember I liked sore throat (streptococcus) and the common cold. The fat cell looked ridiculously adorable too. Basically, they are all amazing. (So yes, if I were your bunneh I would like one. Now that I remembered their existence I will get some for myself at some point in the future anyway.)   75.Do you need any baking supplies? Are you interested in winter/holiday specific baking supplies? Not sure. The only things I would like to try and bake with are things I have never tasted (like maple syrup, molasses, dark treacle etc) but they would be a fuss to bubblewrap.   76.Anniversary update? They don't sound too enticing, sorry. The only one that would interest me is phoenix at midnight, but not enough to put it on my wishlist.   77.Cthulhu: Yes or no? Ia Ia Cthulhu fhtagn! Add me to the "why vote for the lesser evil" club. (That is a yes of course)   78.I ordered some Hogwarts themed tea (herbal, with herbs that are considered . . . um . . . thematic with the Houses) for the hot beverages swap. If you were my bunny, would you want a bit of loose leaf tea in four different flavors? Yes, please. That sounds very interesting.   79. If you were getting a scarf, what color would you like it to be? And would you be averse to it being kind of close to the color but not exactly if there were some, um, accidents in the scarf creating process? Black, Burgundy, Royal Rurple. Or Black with Burgundy stripes, or black with royal purple stripes. I like black and stripes, generally. ^^ As for mistakes, we are human. Simple garter stitch (the one where you only knit, not purl) helps to minimize them as well.   80.I'm going to do some last-minute baking for my Bunny. If you were my Bunny, would you want something with cranberries? Are there any nuts that you particularly like or dislike? I have only tried cranberry juice, would like to try them in food though. I like almonds a lot as well as nuts in general.   81.Are you opposed to getting several edible treats? If yes, are you less opposed if they're non-perishable/you don't have to eat them right away? No... Not at all.   82.A question in a similar vein, I just got the wild rice back, that I harvested this fall, from the processor. Would my bunny like some? Wild rice is awesome.   83. Are you interested in a 5ml of Hot Buttered Rum? Haven't tried it so I am not sure.   84.I impulse bought a copy of Jane Austen Knits at JoAnn not too long ago. If you were my bunny, would you want it (and a couple other knitting patterns I picked up)? Yes, but I am only a basic knitter. I can knit and purl but I haven't tried to increase or decrease stitches yet. If they are very complicated I am not sure I will be able to make anything.

If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store?   Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed?   My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? Winter Holiday Fun Swap questions!

Wishlists: BPAL forum, Amazon, ScentBase, Etsy (please note: there are some very expensive items on there, I do really not even think of expecting you to buy them, they are just inspiration for you about my style and what I like), The Book Depository. Someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from Walgreens to ONLY use on things for yourself. No necessities here. What do you buy? About Walgreens, we don't have a Walgreens here, which is a shame! I had a good search through the website, and these are some things I could pick: EOS lipbalm in Strawberry Sorbet, Haribo peaches, Home Scent Home gell fill candle in Mixed Berries, Jelly Belly beans Ice Cream Parlor mix, Yes to Cucumbers facial towelettes, two Wallgreens votives in Spiced Apple and a Old Williamsburgh Country Creams scented candle in Apple Cinnamon.   I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. Would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need (it's Penzey's if you want to google it)? I would love more spices for in my kitschen, I don't have many. Things that sound nice to me are the Grill & Broil mini gift box, Baker's assortment 4 jar, Cocoa Lover's and Some Like it Hot . For the loose spices, I would like the smallest amounts just to try them out, because I am not really experianced in the kitschen but I would love to play around with them. I'd like to put them over here, but if I write down every one I would like to try, it would be a huge list, so I'll leave that up to you. But I can tell a bit what I like to make. I love to make Indian chicken dishes, hamburgers, I like to bake (should do that a lot mote often) and I like to drink hot cacao. I also like HOT food! I also heard someone about a catalogue, now I know that there aren't any Penzey's right here, and I know they have one in PDF, but I'd lust love a catalogue in paper just to go through and get idea's!   Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? Do you prefer machine washable materials? Do you not care?)? YES! I am just dying for a very long knitted scarf, or a collar type one, but a slouchy beanie would also be very welcome (and a sweater or cardigan, too, but I know that is not really doable LOL)! For the winter, I like purple, grey, black, red, dark blue, pink, green or white. I do not have any sensitives, so wool would be yay! I like stuff to be machine washable, but it's not a MUST.   Hey swap partner...could you use a new mug? I actually got a gorgeous mug from my Switch Witch, but I could use another cute one!   Is there any kind of regional food/treat/drink that your really miss or want to try? Beef jerky, but my Switch Witch told me that it isn't allowed to be shipped from the USA. I always love to try out candy or treats that I cannot get here in the Netherlands, or certain variations, like some blends of Jelly Beans!   Dear Snow Bunnies: Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? And yes, I will be doing a tree this year!I didn't do one for years, because it was just... financially not possible, so out Christmasses have been really simple. But now, things are better! We will be looking for a small fake tree (we live on a 30 m2 appartment, so not much room). Hmm, I didn't really think about themes yet, but I did go to the shop to get some ideas. I really liked white/snowwy/glittery things, like white crystallised snowballs with white feathers in them, or I saw a white Bambi-like deer that was too cute! I would say, a lot of white and silver.   Would you like a special ornament? So I would LOVE a special ornament from my Fox!   Tim Tams. Yay or nay? I really have to look up what Tim Tams are... Aaah, I see! I never had those, but they sound yummy, according to Wikipedia!   Now, a question of my own: I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? I would LOVE homemade goodies! And I do not have any allergies, so that's really nice! Although I try to avoid SLS, parabens and silicons in my beauty products if I can.   Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? Yes, I would love something winter of Christmas themed! But, in a stylish way, I don't really like childisch prints in red and green. But if you could find something that's elegant and sleek, my lovely Fox-to-be, I would be very thankful!   My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? Yes, I would love some! I use scrubs a lot so I go through them pretty quickly! As for essential oils, I like orange, cedar, vanilla, cinnamon (but that one can be a bit difficult to use as it may be irritating), that kind of scents, warming scents especially. If I make them for myself I mostly use 50/50 salt/sugar, and a pretty good amount of oil.   Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? I ADORE candles, especially scented ones! I like them in all kinds of sizes and shapes. I would love to have a very big candle with multiple wicks, or tiny ones that can float on water. But also, regular pillar ones, votives, jars... I love them all! For the winter, I'd love spicy, warming scents, and also bakery scents! My favorite colours for them would be white, silver, red, orange and gold. As said, my experiance is also that candles with decorations on the outside tend to burn, so.. Maybe one in a jar that's just pretty looking would be better?   Also what do you think of little soaps? You mean guest soaps? Yes, I could use a few, but we don't go through soap a lot, so please don't send me loads of them hihi! As for scents, please have a look at the candle & scrub questions!   Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? I love them both, and I love Sockdreams! Never had the oppertunity to buy from there, but I already have spent many hours drooling over everything!   Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? http://www.ravelry.c...gap-tastic-cowl You have no idea how bad and how long I've been wanting a huge chunky cowl like this! OMG! Grey, rich brown, dark purple, dark blue, dark green, red, white or black please.   Talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA?   I love coffee, but don't have a coffee machine at the moment, so if I drink it at home I like to use the hot water solvable one (with caffeine). But I rather drink hot chocolate or tea in this case. I totally love aromatic spicy apple-y teas, or mint variations, or green teas. Not so much of the black teas.   Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? I added stuff from OCC in my Amazon. But I'd also love any samples of their loose eyeshadows, pigments, glitters, lip tars, foundations, everything what you can make one of! So, for example, if you have a favorite Lip Tar, just squeeze out a little bit in a mini jar and you'll make me very happy!   Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try? I really loved Cocoa Pink once, but ordering internationally at them is not a pleasure at all (well, my past experience at least), so, if a Fox should consider ordering for me and letting it shipped to her/him first, that would be great! They have such great foody smells! And they have whipped soap. I. Freakin. Love. Whipped. Soap. Oh, and about my wishlist, you'll see 10 scents listed behind every Cocoa Pink item on my Amazon wishlist. These aren't just for the item they are listed behind, but I would like any item listed on my wishlist in any fragrance that is somewhere on my wishlist .   Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? I really love the look of nail polish, but I just cannot work with any, I am just a disaster in it.   If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) I just will leave the LE's out of this because I didn't even sniff my first decant yet. I would buy a back-up of Snake Oil for aging, one of Drink Me, and three imps from my Scentbase wishlist.   Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? A Christmas Carol and the Grinch.   How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? I am not a huge super hero fan.   Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online. Nah, not really. Don't really like Lush as a company.   Would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents? I think that I am kinda blind, do you mean the ones under 'paintbox collections'? Because I don't really like solid soap. I will add some things that I would LOVE to try to my Etsy wishlist though! I never had the chance to try them out, but they also got mentioned on the Switch Witch topic, and now here, so I am really curious! Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? No, I don't, but I am thinking about getting a kitten, so... kitty proof is appreciated, haha! Or a toy, since I still have to get everything to prepare for the bump of cuteness . How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any? In pure form? Honey: yes PLEASE! For beeswax, I wouldn't know what to do with the raw stuff but I like beeswax candles or something like that! Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist? Trader Joe's? Let me have a look at their website... *goes Google-ing* Hmmz... it seems that they don't have a webshop or I'm blind again, but things like certain candy, chocolate, dried fruits or things like that would be nice. The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything? Just have a look at my Etsy wishlist, dear Fox! If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, what would you want me to include for you? Owh, this is a difficult one! I didn't even sniff one Weenie! They are being decanted as we speak, and I hope to receive them this weekend. But since we don't know when they'll go down, if I had to pick two bottles to buy unsniffed, they would be The Gorobble and Halloween: Las Vegas. But as soon as the Weenie decants come in, I will update it here! Will you be away for any part of the round? Nopes. Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Everything in my shop is up for trade. I don't have an Etsy shop. What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything? I read way less than I would like to. I am dying to try one of the Dark Delicacies books, and there are a few books about make-up on my Book Depository list. I would LOVE to read a good horror, or get a book with ideas and techniques about make-up looks. Also, a book about cupcakes or cookies would be lovely! Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar? Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? I don't know yet, but our lovely Chielamera is currently making me some hard candy with rose flavour! I'd love to try something else, too, but no chewing gum please. The goo sounds fab, haha! Same for the mastic, haven't tried it, but I would love to, as long as it's not gum (I am just not really a gum chewer).   If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie? Yes, I would love a CD with all the tracks like All I Want for Christmas by Mariah Carey or White Christmas, stuff like that.   I live in the city of the chicken wing. If I were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter)? I can tolerate heat pretty well, I even loved spicy food when I was supposed to eat baby food, lol. I like it hot, but I need to still be able to taste something, I don't want things to be that hot that's it's just... hot. For savory food, I like it more to be spicy than sweet.   If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? SockDreams, Amazon, BPAL, NARS, some Etsy stores from whom I have favorite items at my Etsy wishlist, Itunes...   If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? Ehm.. not really, I guess! My favorite holiday candies or food is ehm.. how do you call that.. it's bread with fruits and sugar on it and has a center of almond paste, we just call it Christmas bread. I also like flavored candy canes, or Christmas chocolates!   Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you? Eh... HELL YEAH! Please have a look at my Etsy wishlist to find out what I'd like!   Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? Oh my god you guys, what are you helping me into? You evil enablers! Haha! I never saw this webshop but it's gorgeous! Please look at my Etsy wishlist for that as well!   Best holiday present I ever got: The first Christmas my boyfriend and I were together, which was in 2007, my boyfriend had a silver heart, with best friends on it, broke it in half and we have one half each. Although I don't wear it a lot anymore (most people tend to think that it's more for younger teens, so I am searching for something that is more elegant), I love it to death and I covet it so much... We were exactly half a year together back then, on the first Christmas day. It will be already 4,5 years! It went só fast!   BPAL anniversary resurrection wishes: Hmmm, let me think. I bet SN's won't be resurrected, although I am dying to try some. I would go for Mosterbait: Closet and Snake Charmer.   Bun-bun, what's your favourite colour? Picking one would be difficult, but I love purple, red and green. Hmm, I made the colours clickable, so you can see an inspirational picture by each one.   Favorite gemstone: Tiger's eye, garnet and rock crystal .   Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)? I love cats (especially kittens) and little birds.   Phobia's: I do not have any things that are severe enough to say it's a phobia, but I do not feel comfortable in a very very small room and...feet. I love shoes and all, to pretty them up, but naked they are just... *shiver*   Groupon for Moxie Nouveau: I tend to avoid to use other perfumes than BPAL. Honestly, BPAL is just pure love for me, and it's exciting and complicated enough as it is, and I am very loyal to specific brands anyway, so I feel like I don't need to explore another one.   Nano-ing: I don't have a clue what that means, so I guess not!   Boxes for perfume and/or knick-knacks? Yes, please! I'd adore some antique-looking tiny box for 5 BPAL bottles or so, to make it my top 5 box. I also would like something prettier for my decants (I store them in a 50 slot ammo box right now). My decant-supply box is an old shoe box and it's a mess, so if you would come with something that would organise it better, that'd be welcomed.   Coffee or tea? With caffine or without? Flavors (if so, what?) or no? Whole bean/ground/loose leaf/bags? Tea (or instant coffee with caffeine). I like Forest Berry tea, or a nice peppermint or Turkish apple. I both like loose tea and tea bags, I really need to get a nice tea egg or something, because mine.. well.. just let's say that it's ready for replacement, haha!   Do you have a strong preference for any sort of bath and body brands? I try to avoid SLS, silicons and parabens. I Haus of Gloi and BPTP for all the products I can get, and the thing that's left then is shampoo, and I use that one from Avalon Organics, but I am still on the lookout for shampoo and conditioner from a nice e-tailer that is scented like.. cupcakes, or cookies, or red musk or, you know, any BPAL scent, lol. I tried Cocoa Pink but I am not too fond of them at the moment, so... I just think BPTP should make hair care stuff! But I am certainly willing to try other bath & body brands that are organic or mostly natural!   Reveal: yes or no? I'd love a reveal, when my fox feels good with that as well. It's up to you, foxy!   Any favorite cuddly characters? I love some of the WWF plushies! They are just wonderfully made! I especially would love a fox, a snow fox or a seal.   Charity gifts? Fairtrade gifts: yes please! Virtual ones, not so much, as I'd rather pick a good cause myself and go there to see if everything is working out.   Two Timing Tart? Oh my god, those Burlesque candles sound perfect for me! Pornography is just the scent for me, and Sex Kitten sounds amazing! I'd love tarts as well. The scents I'd pick for those would be Insomniac, Silk Sheets, Wench, Kitchen Alchemy, Don't Make Baby Jesus Cry, Tease, Innocence and Satin Sheets. I'd also like to try the experiments #3 and #5. And of course, I'd also like normal candles in the scents I picked for the tarts!   Do you need special recipies, or is there something you'd like to be made or baked for you? I always love new recepies to try, as long as they don't require hi-tech kitschen stuff or complicated steps. I love baking, but I am very unexperienced. I'd LOVE to receive homemade/baked food by my fox, but I am afraid that, since I live overseas, that might be not possible? I'd love any candy or sweets (but no peanut butter, please), but maybe something like marmalade or chutney or anything that can stay fresh longer? Speaking about candles, how much do you look forward to the BPTP candles that will be launched on Etsy? I don't know if there will be other scents than the Samhain and Pumpkin Cookie one, but is there a specific one you are longing for? Wheeeee they were gone before I even got up! It broke my heart, since that was the item (especially the Pumpkin Cookie one) that I wanted the most from the BPTP Halloween release! Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms? Not really that I can think of right now. I really do like anything that has to do with the universe, planets and stars though.   Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc? I do not have issues with anything used, as long as it's still in a nice condition. I am also not afraid of the bedbug, so clothes are also welcome!   Bunnies, how do you feel about lemon-flavored items, like lemon marmalade, lemon curd, lemon pound cake, or lemon cookies? Lemon curd!!! Lemon marmalade woul be a no, and I generally go for other flavours in cake or cookies than lemon, but lemon curd is just... pure love.   Pink? If you are my Fox, really, I like pink pretty much! I could imagine a scarf in pink as a statement piece!   What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular. I don't know what cookies taste like with those flavourings, but I'd love to try some!   Do you like artisan oils and vinegars? I don't really use oils and vinegars. I don't make dressings or sauces of my own (well, only one to dip my Pringles in lol), so I am afraid that they'd just be standing around here. Although I totally love the look of those chique tall bottles with some fruits or twigs in it with the oil. They are so lovely as decoration!   Any crafty pursuits you've been dying to experiment with? Would you like a little kit of something you've never tried? Do you need any particular items for your new or existing stash? I would love to do something crafty. I don't have a lot of space though. I made Pergamano stuff years ago, and sold all my tools. I am so sad about that! I'd like a lot of things to try out, as long as it doesn't need a lot of skill. I can work precise, but I am not good at drawing for example. Oh, maybe a good one: painting by numbers, but then the more complicated stuff (I mean, not those children projects hahaha)? Oh and I'd love stuff to make scrubs with/add to scrubs. For example fruit powders, seeds, oils and such.   Bunny, could you use a 2012 calendar, and, if so, do you like big monthly ones or the page-a-day type? Yes I could use one! My 2011 calender is an Escher one, a big monthly one. I'd love something cats or fantasy themed, or with forest/nature things on it. I do think a page-a-day one is.. a bit of a paper/tree waste? Oooh or one with hot guys like Jason Statham, Alan Rickman, Vinnie Jones, Johnny Depp, that would be the best calender ever! And there may also be some hot girls on there too (Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Adriana Lima), well, because.. I like them too.   Do you like snow and wintery scenes? Yes!   Do you prefer dark or milk chocolate? I like both, but I overate a bit on the dark one lately, so I'd like some milk chocolate now. But I also like white! If your fox were to knit something for you, would it be a lacy shawl or a pair of socks? Both would be great! I am more needy of socks, if I must be honest, but I just LOVE shawls. They are great to spice up my basic outfits. Would anyone else be interested in a soap dish or something like that? I would, but it must have a good drainage system. I found one that has that, but it's white plastic, like, really ugly. Are you a Harry Potter fan? I love the movies and the books, but I am not really a fan. I am wondering if the last movie already came out in the USA? It didn't here yet.. I'd also adore the part before that (movie 7 part 1) on DVD. Sooo. Yules. Those just happened. What are you interested in, Bunny? I will be ordering bottles of Snow White and Pink Snowballs, and ordered half a bottle of Oak Moon, and decants of Diable en Boite, Pumpkin Masala Rooibos, Haloa, Gelt and a Wonderful Light. I left out the Maison en Pain D'Epices my Snow Fox! Other than those mentioned, I don't have any decant wishes, but I'd love testers of Chanukkiyah 2011, Egg Nog 2011, Lick It Discreetly, Midnight Mass 2011, Midwinter's Eve 2011, Peacock Queen 2011, Sugar Cookie 2011, Yellow Snowballs, Amiable and Lovely Creatures, Beautiful and Adored and The Last Evening of the Year, just because I am so curious how those smell! Do you like coin purses? That, or a wallet, because mine is really really really teared up and I still use it. Are there any Yules from *PAST* years that you're interested in trying? Including past winter inquisitions? Ooh nice question! I go have many wishes in my Scentbase, well, for the Lab's Yules, they are all there. From the Post's perfume oils, I'd love to try Bah, Chewing Little Bits of String, Comforting Plush Companion, Deathly Pride, Dreadful Lies, Gluhwein, Humbug, Left His Nurse while in a Crowd, Monsieur Petitbled's Frivolous Wheeled Footwear, Overprotective Posessed Talking Doll, Playing with a Loaded Gun, Playing with Dangerous Toys, Snow Angel: Resurrected, Snowblind: Resurrected and Uncertain Horror. Sorry for the long lists, LOL but there are so many that I would love to try! From the Posts other stuff, I'd love some: Vespers atmo spray, Frankincence & Myrrh bath oil, Holiday Stress Relief massage oil, Holiday Joy massage oil, Holiday Argument Diffusing Spray, Bloc Na Nollaig atmo spray, Samhain atmo spray, Mr Fezziwig's Ball atmo spray, Goblin of Yuletide Past atmo spray, Goblin of Yuletide Present atmo spray, Proserpina bath oil, Bah Humbug atmo spray and Goblin of Yuletide Yet to Come atmo spray.

Winter Holiday Swap

Hey there, foxy! Some hints for you:   Etsy favourites! (currently in mad love with those Time Lord necklaces...)   This is... a lot of scrolling, so I'll put new things on top from now on. Eep. Sorry!   Are there any Yules from *PAST* years that you're interested in trying? This is my very first Yule, so I haven't tried much, and none of the classics -- I'd be up for anything! But I'd be especially interested in any cold and snowy scents that aren't florals (Snow White, frex, would be a total no-go). The Snow Storm sounds made of total win to me. Nuclear Winter, Hypothermia, anything in that vein definitely.   Soap dish? Ooh! Yes! I only switched recently from liquid to bar and I don't have a soap dish. I was going to fashion myself one out of chopsticks but first I need to find a decent place to get Chinese food around here and I haven't and until I do my soap will be sitting in sad and slimy pools. Caveat: preferably not something easily breakable since my bathroom has a window above my shower-ledge and, as mentioned 972 times in my blog, my cats are klutzes. They caught sight of a squirrel in the backyard today. This occasioned the near-destruction of the stereo, when they forgot windows are made of solid material and tried to hurl themselves after it. It was a really important squirrel, apparently.   If your fox were to knit something for you, would it be a lacy shawl or a pair of socks? Either would be awesome! Although I can't knit myself socks, it's too scary. But then, every year I get multiple pairs of socks for Christmas. But then again, one can never have too many socks. But....hm. Shawl! It sounds so pretty!     Fruit/dried fruit? Cherries? Tart cherries are love! I adore tart cherry jelly -- not the chunky kind, not the kind with whole cherries, just smooth. It's so difficult to find in the US and I was going mad, but last summer I was lucky enough to get several pounds of cherries and make my own. Still have a few jars, so I'm not desperate at present, but I'd never say no to more   Not particularly interested in dried fruit. Fruit leather's okay. Crystallised pineapple and ginger are okay. I like dried apricots but I'm mildly allergic to them so that's probably not a good idea, even though I'd eat and like them.   Bunnies! What is your general philosophy about patterns for accessories such as socks, scarves, and tights? Do you like solids? Stripes? Polka dots? Weird patterns like harlequin-type stuff? Any of the above? All of the above! Especially stripes and patterns! Argyle and paisley are super. Polka dots are okay but I prefer swiss-dots -- or even better, little patterns, like stars.   $20 to blow in Walgreens: I tend not to wear makeup and for skincare I'm a super-minimalist: I make my own masks/scrubs and moisturise with jojoba or olive oil. But my hair is a mess, and nothing I've tried has worked, so I'd probably raid the hair care section. I have a lot of split ends and have yet to find a product I really like, but I've heard good things about Shea Moisture, so I'd probably get some of their Yucca and Aloe Hair Thickening Growth Milk -- or if there was just some straight argan oil, I'd get that. And.... hm. Maybe a Tamagotchi from their toy aisle! I've been feeling nostalgic. If any was left on the card, I'd look for some lip balm in fun flavours like coconut or lemon.   Penzey's: I'm not much of a carnivore, so I wouldn't use their rubs or meat seasonings. I love curry, though, and would probably go for any of those blends. I bake a lot and would love some of their Vietnamese or China cinnamon and vanilla. They also have Charnushka (rye bread seeds), which I've always wanted to try. I am baking rye bread right now, actually!   Knitted Goods: I love knitted things! All fibers except mohair. I've been wanting to make a felted Gryffindor scarf forever but I'm afraid to felt, so I'll probably never work up the nerve (LOL SOME GRYFF I AM I KNOW). I love scarves of all kinds, especially big giant long ones, as well as fingerless gloves and wristwarmers. Hats and hairbands are okay but I usually need them to be either acrylic or lined because they make my head all itchy. I like bright colours -- deep greens and blues, oranges and golds, crimson and wine reds, especially in bold stripes or eyecatching patterns.   Tree Ornaments: Probably a bad idea. They would be claimed as cat toys the minute I got them out of the box... ::glares at cat, who is currently scaling a bookshelf::   Tim Tams. Yay or nay? YAAAAAAY. Original or Chewy Caramel, yum!   If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? I love homemade goodies and hope to send some to my bunny myself! Any treats are welcome, but homemade ones are always my preference.   Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? None for me, thanks. My current place is so small we don't even have a table, so not much entertaining here.   My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? That sounds fantastic. I'd love something warming, with ginger or pepper -- that or something clean and soothing, maybe with rosemary. Since winter's coming, probably sugar, and on the oily side.   Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? I love candles! Unscented tapers are great; we have a brass candlestick we use for reading and in the winter we go through tapers like crazy. Tea lights are also most welcome. As far as scented candles go, I like wintery ones (especially evergreen or peppermint) and hot chocolate. Jar candles are also great, since the other cat (NOT the one on the bookshelf) is a klutz and frequently singes his tail on tapers. Sigh. CATS.   Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores. I'd give them a try!   Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? Yes to socks! Not so much on slippers, but definitely socks. Big fan of knee/over the knee socks, which I love to layer under thick/fluffy anklet socks for SUPER WARM AWESOMENESS. Crazy patterns and stripes and argyle: big yes. I haven't shopped at Sock Dreams but they look great.   Cowl? Ooh. I tend to get claustrophobic with turtlenecks, but that looks nice and loose and I could control the tightness. My neck and back knot up in the cold and I can always use something to keep my muscles warm. Maybe in charcoal?   Talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? I, uh, have named my French Press. His name is Hervé, and I LUFF HIM. Whole bean, full caf -- though I make exceptions for flavoured blends I can't get whole (TJ's Pumpkin Spice, frex). I love spiced/holiday blends: gingerbread, eggnog, candy cane, ALL OF IT. For not-flavoured, I like Vienna roast -- dark enough to reduce acidity and bring out some caramel. For roasters, I love Satellite (NM chain, and I would kill or at least maim to be able to drink their iced Black Velvet again... I miss it so) and Intelligentsia, but it's always great fun trying local roasts from new places. I also love tea!   Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? None for me, thanks. I never really figured out how makeup works.   CocoaPink: Um. Everything? I'd especially love to try anything with Black Cat in the Pumpkin Patch, Green Tea and Mint, Blackberry Mist, or Full Moon.   Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? I'd try some of the crackle kind, but I rarely use it and am not really much into it. When I wear it, I wear black or something neon.   If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) All hail the BPALicorn! My collection's still primarily imps, so I think I'd upgrade my best-loved/most-used scents to big bottles. I find the Conjure Bag stuff pretty effective, so bottles of High John the Conqueror and Wolf's Heart, plus a bottle of No. 93 Engine, which I love for winter. The beeswax and lemon balm make it so sunny and warming, perfect for a cold grey day.   Holiday DVDs None I can think of.   Marvel or DC? Marvel, definitely. I like the X-Men, and Beast is my favourite (cat-version). I haven't got anywhere to put any more comix/paraphernalia at the moment, though, heh.   Lush? Any of their lip balms or bath bombs/bubble bars -- I've never tried any of either! I have and like a Therapy massage bar, but would love to try others -- particularly a Wiccy Magic Muscles, Hottie or Ego bar.   Honey/beeswax? Oh yes please! I LOVE varietal honeys (especially meadowfoam, but I want to TRY ALL THE HONEYS). Yes to beeswax, too! I'm not sure what I'd do with it but I've made candles before and I adore beeswax candles. That or I'd tint it for sealing letters! I love cosmetics and scents with beeswax in (from BPAL I love No. 93 Engine and the beeswax note is a big part of why). I'd take it as an awesome challenge   Trader Joe's? That's actually the grocery store closest to me at present, so I don't need anything in particular there.   If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you? (presuming that is that the order can get here in time, bites nails)? If it's a TP order, I'd love to try some Samhain soap or a sample of one of the hair glosses (a decant or what-have-you). If from the Lab, well, my Weenie decants haven't arrived yet (although I hope they'll show up soon). I WANT TO TRY OCTOBER 2011, DAMNIT. But as far as GCs go I'd love more imps of Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo and High John the Conqueror, or imps of random scents I've not yet tried. TRY ALL THE THINGS is my motto.   Will you be away for any part of the round? Not for any great length of time -- maybe a day or two at Thanksgiving, but no longer than that.   Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? I'll check out Tradeaholics when I get a chance!   What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything? Oh dear. I have SO MANY BOOKS. Seriously. They don't all fit in the apartment. There are things I want to read... but I probably shouldn't own them.   Rose/mastic flavored things? I would love to try mastic -- just the resin. I like rose-flavoured candies and other floral sweets (lavender, orange blossom, etc). When I've had Turkish Delight it's been the cheap kind and chocolate-covered and I didn't like it very much. It was so disappointing because I'd wanted to try some ever since reading The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. But I would try it again!   i live in the city of the chicken wing. if i were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter)? OM NOM NOM. I don't like things that are so hot I can't taste anything *but* heat, but spicy is good. I have a friend who once ate a thumb-sized glob of wasabi, straight, and who regularly dares people to make him the hottest possible wings and then complains and puts more hot sauce on them. I am not that kind of spicy-fan. But I like hot curries and green/red chile in the mid-hot range. I prefer savoury-hot to sweet-hot, but enjoy wasabi peas and things of that sort.   Paintbox Soapworks I would love to try some slip or goats-milk moisturiser. Yuletide Mariner, White Snow, Bright Snow, or This Charming Man.   If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store food wise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? ThinkGeek, LUSH, Paintbox, Sock Dreams. I love all those places but always kinda feel guilty just buying awesome stuff from there for no reason, heh. I love to be enabled!   If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? I love everything! I'm not particularly fond of cherry cordials or liqueur centres, and licorice I can take or leave. But any and everything else is splendid. Toffees/brittles/caramels with nuts are my favourites. For holiday-specific sweets: candy canes! I love them. I especially love King Leo peppermint sticks.   Does anything from FusionSweets interest you? ::drools on keyboard:: Oh. Oh my... I did not know about this shop. Wow. The Forgive Me I Have Sinned Dulche de Leche Coconut Macaroons, for starters. The Berlingots would be amazing -- probably the variety sampler since they ALL sound good. And *any* of the caramels, of course. Of those things I'm most curious about the Berlingots -- I love having a bunch of different flavours to try!   Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? Probably too spendy for this swap, alas, but those YuleFrost Orb pendants are bloody gorgeous, particularly the Icebound... ::bites lip::   What was the best holiday present you ever got? When I was eight I got a world globe. Seriously, I loved that damn thing. I got A *BIKE* that year, a bitchin' purple Huffy with PINK TIRES and streamers and this pink-and-purple detachable handlebar pouch/fanny pack monstrosity that any self-respecting eight-year-old in the early 90s should have totally gone apeshit over.... and I was all MY GLOBE IS AWESOME, WHAT'S THAT I GOT A BIKE OH DON'T CURRRRR HEY DID YOU SEE MY RAD GLOBE? ...so yeah. Nerd. NERRRRD.   Anniversary Resurrection scent Oh gosh. I'm too much of a n00b, I think. I've trained myself not to spelunk through old reviews, for the most part, since I already covet so much, but it's for SCIENCE. Or for swapping, same principle. So let's see: I have an imp of Severin I'm scared to try in case I like it... if that came back I'd finally crack the thing open. I'm sad I never got the chance to try The Coil. I'm intrigued by March Hare, so I'd probably try a bottle of that if it came back. I love Death of Autumn and Howl in the Darkness.   Moxie Nouveau? Maybe Greensleeves or Girls with Cigars, but I like my scents dark and dirty and these seem a bit too sweet and demure. Candlemas sounds yummy... but there's tuberose. It would smell like Joyce's The Dead on me, and not in a good way -- in a decaying-pederast way. The ones that appeal to me most all have sneaky floral notes of doom in them. GET ALL THOSE FLOWERS OUT OF THERE DAMNIT.   Favourite colour God, I asked this one and I don't even know. LOTS.   Gemstone? Garnet is my birthstone. I like amber just because it's awesome and you can do science experiments with it (I'm a Faraday fangirl and I don't feel shame.) I love jade.   Favourite animal? Badgers and foxes and octopuses and axolotls.   Phobias? I'm terrified of wasps and bees. I flee them. Screaming and flailing.   Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause? In theory, but, uh, I sort of haven't exactly quite started yet. Sort of thing. I probably wouldn't be much into merch, because then I'd look at it and go OH GOD I FAIL.   Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks? I have eleventy-jillion imps and NO serious containment system, so definitely! Right now they're living in small jam jars in my big cigar box and I can never see what any of them are. Something that would let me organise them and see their labels would be great.   Coffee or tea? With caffeine or without? Flavors (if so, what?) or no? Whole bean/ground/loose leaf/bags? PLEASE TO BE SENDING ME ALL OF YOUR CAFFEINATED LIQUIDS THANK YOU YES. I love everything! Except licorice tea. Blech. Coffee: preferably whole-bean, unless it's yummy flavoured coffee. I tend to use tea bags more frequently than looseleaf teas, but that's just cos I'm lazy and no longer live near a good loose-tea shop -- also I could use a new tea-ball, now that I think about it. But try me on anything! Really. Especially florals or mate blends. I love mate and used to have a bombilla and gourd but then my gourd cracked and I lost my bombilla and now I am sad.   Do you have a strong preference for any sort of bath and body product brands (i.e. etailer/etsy type cos, department store/specialty brands like Lush) or are you cool with anything that doesn't smell like Bunnybane? Still kind of a scent-n00b and I haven't tried a lot of things. The only major brand I have really tried and like is Lush -- in my formative years I used waaaaaaay too much B&BW antibacterial hand gel and still haven't quite recovered my stomach for their scents. I have ethical issues with Burt's Bees after the Clorox buyout. Natural/relatively-chemical-free products are my preference, but my experience is limited (haven't even tried anything from the Trading Post yet!) so I'm open to trying new things.   A question: reveal, yes or no? I plan to! And I would love to know my fox's identity.   Any favorite cuddly characters? I especially love cute-monster designs, like fluffy Cthulus, Deth P Sun's stuff, and Domo-kun (I have a giant plushie Domo and also have a Domo hat though from Sanrio my favourite is Badtz-Maru). I'm totally asking my family for a Squishable Worrible for Christmas this year even though I have nowhere to put him in my plushie-filled bedroom because I love Andrew Bell. Love him. He is awesome.   Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines? I approve! Especially fair-trade stuff or pro-animal charities.   Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in? ARGH SO MUCH ENABLEMENT. I love it, though. I'd be interested in any! Wench and Kitchen Alchemy look yummy, I'd love the Bamboo/Yuzu or Rice/Honey experimental, and all of the Burlesques. Going by notes I'd probably like Sex Kitten best but I can always use more Pretty Boys in Eyeliner in my life, oh yes I can. I bet they smell nice too   BPTP candles? I wish they weren't so limited! The Samhain sounds interesting but I'm holding out for Yule. I love winter scents for candles.   Do you need any holiday recipies? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? I tend to BAKE ALL THE THINGS this time of year, but I'm a failure at candymaking, so I'd love your successful candy recipes! Or just the candy. I also am in need of good recipes for pfeffernusse and mexican wedding cookies. Once, when I was small, I had these amazing creamy meringue cookies -- they weren't exactly meringue, because they were a different texture, but they were white like meringue, and shaped like Cs, and sweet and crispy and melted on the tongue. They were amazing and I have no idea what they are called but if you know what they are and could tell me or bake me some I'd love you forever. I really love different types of traditional cookies and love expanding my collection of recipes. Also: fruitcake! I really, truly like it. Green cherries give me the creeps, though, and I like it to be heavy on cake and light on fruit.   Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.? Not at all! Though, again, nowhere to put them. Seriously, I have at least four boxes of books in another state, probably more, plus FIVE FULL CASES (big five-shelf ones!) and there are still books all over the floor. Let's not even talk about the boxes of comix. Yeeeeah.   Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms? My nerdly loves are for biology, chemistry, electromagnetics (I ADORE FARADAY AND SOMEDAY I WILL MARRY HIM) and particle physics. I'm also into social science/cultural studies and would make an exception from my Please No Books stance for books from Frankfurt School thinkers like Adorno and Horkheimer or media studies writers like McLuhan.   Fandom-wise, my big love right now is Doctor Who -- I was actually kind of afraid to watch it earlier because I saw some Third Doctor episodes when I was small and was scarred by them. ALIEN EGGS ARE TERRIFYING TO ME KTHX -- but now I am in love with Matt Smith. Also into Harry Potter (Gryffinpuffs represent) and currently rewatching The X-Files (and the first episode of S4 is just as terrifying to me now as it was when aired because it manages to combine two of my most intense phobias into ONE TERRIFYING PACKAGE: SMALLPOX DEATH-BEES). And BtVS and Firefly will always have places in my heart.   Lemon? Yum! I don't really care for curd -- texture thing, I guess -- but marmalade is love, and so are baked goods/candies.   Pink? Sure. Brighter/darker pinks preferred for wearables, as pale pink does icky things with my complexion.   But do you really want all 12 feet of the Tom Baker scarf? OMG YES. YES I DO. I DO WANT ALL OF THE SCARF. I'm 5'4". So, to speak reasonably, I guess I wouldn't. BUT IN ACTUALITY I DO.   Fingerless or full mitts? Fingerless mittens are the greatest of mittens! I wear fingerless gloves/mitts constantly in winter and always need more.   Mugs? I'm always on the lookout for the perfect mug. I like larger-than-8oz mugs, especially nerdy mugs (i.e. thinkgeek, topatoco, engrish.com and the like). I used to have a clear glass mug from despair.com with a dividing line and the text 'This Mug Is Now Half-Empty'

Winter Fun Swap Questions

1. $20 in Walgreens- In reality probably a prescription but ok, If I'm supposed to blow it on myself? Maybe some weird color sinful nailpolish for the toes, a paperback (some kind of forensic crime stuff like Patricia Cornwell, Jonathan Kellerman, Dean Koontz maybe). tea if they had something interesting, ans a diet coke with lime.     2. knitting? No thank you anyway unless it is a mini afghan or blanket to cover up with while sitting on the sofa but that is too big of a project. If someone is really ambitious, the colors would be like chocolate brown beige and green or something like that.   Spices, yes if it is something really unique, but I have a very small kitchen and cupboards unfortunately. 4. Mug? No thanks I am all set (see above small kitchen issue)   5. Regional food or drink? YES, I can't think of anything specific but I love trying new things and would love something that is special in my foxes area. Course if I fell in love with it, I might bug you to get me more -I'd pay for it of course. I do love Good Earth tea in decaf original and sometimes I can't buy it around here.   6. Christmas tree- Yes I have an artificial one because I don't like to kill trees to make them an adornment, I think they look perfectly lovely outside adorning nature like they are supposed to :hippie:   Well back to the fake tree. I am Jewish and my husband and step daughter are Catholic so its a mix I have lots of blue and silver ornaments plus the usual Christmas stuff. Would I like an ornament from my fox? Yes, especially if he or she were crafty and made it for me.   7. Am I squicked out by homemade goodies? No, I can't actually see if your kitchen is filthy , so it doesn't bother me. Just kidding. No I buy edibles from etsy too so it is cool, BUT I am really seriously trying to lose weight so if it were like a fat free baked good full of flax seed or something, or tea or coffee. I may have small kitchen cupboards but they are stuffed with coffee and tea Love love love. So that might be a better "Sweet treat" for me. See below re: types   8. Holiday serving bowls, platters etc. Yeah sure and I hope my bunny wants some too cuz I know where to get some really nice ones.   9. Handmade sugar scrub-Sure. I do make them myself but would still love something my fox gave me, I do not like them very oily though. The ones I make are foaming type, I don't like greasy ones.   10. Candles-Oh sure or tarts. Bath and Body works always has nice holiday scents and those cute little minis but I burn tarts alot too. I also make them out of BPAL-YUM   11. Soap-Yeah I make that too-pretty crafty I am, but if you make your own I would love to try it. I am also getting hooked on villianess-my favorite is the bathory one.   12. Socks/Slippers Socks yes but I have a whole drawer full. Slippers no. Sock dreams. Not so much my legs are pretty um thick and they dont always fit so well.   13. Coffee and Tea Hell yes please.   Why don't we have a tea icon? I love coffee (not decaf) in flavors like chocolate raspberry, hazelnut, caramel, oh god just about any flavor EXCEPT the liquor flavored ones like Irish Cream-Gross   Tea-herbal, fruit tisanes, and Rooibos. Black and green tea makes me nauseous for some odd reason. White tea to me has no flavor I actually have tea on my BPAL wishlist. I Adore tea   Actually my 3 favorite beverages are tea coffee and water.   14. Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? do you prefer machine washable materials? do you not care?)?       any fiber is good except mohair. i don't really care about washibility, all of my handspuns need to be handwashed anyway. colors run to the autumnal   .   Are you crafty? Do you like to make things?   i knit and i'm a handspinner. i like those little craft kits you get at michael's too. Do you wear hair clips, barrettes, etc?   my hair is really fine/thin and i gave up on trying to find stuff that will stay in it. Alcohol- yay or nay?   yes- just not tequila   Do you wear earrings/have pierced ears?   nope! Colors- if it shows up on a tree in october I'll like it. My favorite color currently is a rusty orange that blackberry refers to as inferno. I'm a fan of jewel tones. Dried fruit- I eat it but it's not something I normally think about buying.   -Would you enjoy a novelty scarf?   i love sheep and penguins! i also really love some of the skull/bone cables that are floating around ravelry right now. my original desire for school was epidemiology and i would still love something bio/genetics related. If so, at what level?   as long as i can actually wear it, i don't really mind.     -Delicate, tough, or it doesn't matter? As in how often do you plan to use it and how rough are those circumstances of use?   delicate is okay, though tough would probably see more use. i'm not exactly gentle with my stuff though i can be if necessary (i have handspun alpaca scarves in my collection). Anyone have colors/fabrics they would HATE for me to use in case I start early and don't wait for my person & their info sheet?   ...i'm actually a red heart fan. but i'm not really big into the novelty yarns right now unless they're part of a wider project (eyelash, pompoms, things like that). and i'm allergic to mohair. -What scarf-types do you like? exs: Cowl (either the scrunched down kinds... or the tall ones that shield your neck while you wear a jacket), no. they make me look like i have no neck.   hooded scarves, sure. there's a couple i like on ravelry   shawls, YES. i have a small shawl army.   poncho-like, probably not   skinny (or wide) and wider than skinnier   long (or short) normal scarves, longer than shorter   wrap, ...i'm not sure what a wrap scarf even is, but i don't have a lot of sleep right now...   fashion types (like necklace-like, or shawlettes), a shawlette more than a necklace type   moebius?? more than a cowl what kind of non-knitted scarves/wraps do you like? Length? Style?   i like pretty much everything, especially multicolored prints. fleece would definitely get used. how do you feel about ruffles/pick ups?   if they're relatively small. otherwise i feel like i look like a walking christmas tree skirt. what are your least favorite colors?   ...i actually don't think that i don't have a least favorite, though i don't do a lot of pastels.

Wedding ceremony draft

INTRODUCTION Family and friends, we are gathered here not to witness the beginning of what will be, but rather what already is. We celebrate with Jane and Bill the wondrous and joyful occurrence that has already taken place in their lives, their love for each other.   Jane and Bill, your bond was first formed when the two of you chose to combine your separate lives into one. You have made a mutual commitment to love each other in an atmosphere of care and consideration and respect. You are partners in life, working together to bring out the best in each other, and for each other, and striving to be the most you can. This ceremony marks the moment when the relationship you have been creating gains a new, richer meaning.   Your shared experiences have brought you together and forged this bond of love. From this day onward you will come closer together than ever before. You will love one another for better and for worse, in sickness and in health. At the same time your love will give you the strength to stand apart, to seek out your unique destinies, to make your special contribution to the world.   Treat yourselves and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together. Take responsibility for making each other feel safe, and give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficulties, and fear assail your relationship, as they threaten all relationships at some time or another, remember to focus on what is right between you, not only the part that seems wrong. In this way, you can ride out the storms when clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives – remembering that even if you lose sight of it for a moment, the sun is still there.   May you always be able to talk things over, to confide in each other, to laugh with each other, to enjoy life together, and to share moments of quiet and peace when the day is done. May your marriage be a place in which you share your joys so that they may be multiplied and your pain so that it may be divided. May you be blessed with a lifetime of happiness and a home of warmth and understanding.   (pause)   There are loved ones who are unable to be here today. Jane and Bill, do not be sorrowful, for you know all those who love you and ever have loved you are here with you in spirit. Let’s take a moment to remember the special loved ones whose presence is missed today.   (pause)   BLESSING As they prepare to join their lives, it’s important to understand that everyone present has played a part in shaping the characters of Jane & Bill, and will play a vital role in their continuing lives. And thus we are here not only to witness their vows to each other, but also bestow upon them our blessing.   Will you, the family and friends of Jane and Bill, pledge to give them your continuing support, your love and your understanding as they work to build a happy and enduring marriage? If so, please say, “We will.”   VOWS Jane and Bill, you are different people today than when you met, and years from now you be different still. Do you both, before these witnesses, pledge to do all in your power to make this a happy and enduring union? Jane and Bill: We do. I invite you now to make your promises to one another: (Bill and Jane to write)   UNITY CANDLE At this time Jane and Bill will commemorate their marriage by lighting a Unity candle. The two smaller candles were lit by their mothers to represent their lives to this moment. Bill and Jane, please take the candle symbolizing your individual life, and together light the center candle of your union. (Place the tapers back into their holders—join hands and remain near the candles) As this new flame burns undivided, so shall your lives now be one. From now on your thoughts will be for each other rather than just your individual selves. Your plans will be mutual, your joys and sorrows both will be shared alike.   Although you are now entering into a marriage relationship, you do not, however, lose your personal identity. Therefore all three candles remain glowing. The individual candles represent all that makes each of you the wonderful and unique person the other admires and respects. The Unity candle in the center symbolizes the joining of your lives, families, and friends, as well as your shining commitment to each other, and to a lasting and loving marriage.   RINGS The vows you’ve made are invisible; the love you feel is invisible, too. But rings are visible, material signs of these inward ties. They are tokens of the growing relationship you have come here to celebrate and confirm. (Give Bill Jane’s ring) Bill: Take this ring as a sign of my love and as a symbol of all that we share. May it remind you always of this day, and that you are surrounded by my enduring love. (Give Jane Bill’s ring) Jane: Take this ring as a sign of my love and as a symbol of all that we share. May it remind you always of this day, and that you are surrounded by my enduring love.   CLOSING Bill and Jane, may you always need one another, not to fill an emptiness, but to help each other know your fullness. May you want one another, but not out of lack. May you embrace one another, but not constrain one another. May you succeed in all important ways with each other, and not fail in the little graces. May you have happiness, and may you find it in making one another happy. May you have love, and may you find it in loving one another. Jane and Bill, as you join hands right now and look into one another’s eyes, let it be known that you are joined, body and soul in this lifetime. You may now seal this ceremony with a kiss. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my pleasure to present to you Jane and Bill (Last Name)

More questions answered

I'm sure you're getting sick of reading about me witch, but I'm at work and bored...   Do you need any winter wear, witchee? It’s already gotten to feel like winter here in my part of the world! I’ve noticed that I really need some new slippers and new gloves/mittens. In both cases I’m much more interested in how warm they are than how cute they are, if they are both, than that’s an awesome plus.   I've read something about a Event Exclusive called Pumpkin Hard Candy (if someone knows the details, shout it out because I am still searching). Are you interested in this scent? How desperate are you for it? I tend to do very well with Pumpkin scents so I would love to try it, but nothing I’m dying to have, either.   Going back to the question about winter wear, are there any colors you would prefer not to have? I have two winter coats that I wear most of the time. My casual one is red and black, and my dressier one is brown. Any colors that go with either of those is fine, The only color that I can think of right off hand that I would hate is a mustard yellow.   Do you like scary books? What's the best/scariest thing you've ever read? NOPE! Real life is scary enough. I like to read to escape and be happy.   So I was at Uwajimaya the other day and saw Earl Grey Tea Chocolate and Cinnamon Chocolate. If you were my Witchee, would you be interested in trying something like that? Maybe. I once had a witch who sent me bacon chocolate, and that was surprisingly good. I like chocolate, but I’m not dying to try fancy or strange chocolates, either.
