porcelina Report post Posted April 14, 2015 Brown sugar and ginger root with smoky clove, bourbon vanilla, cardamom, and Indonesian musk. the clove really dominates mopsfledermaus, as it usually does for me, but it has a background of sugary sweet vanilla musk and is really yummy. it's like a sexy perfumey gingerbread. it's very powerful and a little goes a long way and i am slightly worried about getting a headache from the overwhelming spicy sweetness... i really like it though. a great scent for fall or the holiday season (it evokes gingerbread and holiday baking without screaming "CHRISTMAS!!!!" or being super foodie). DevilsCandyCane Report post Posted April 22, 2015 Ohhh, I love this so much - it's backup bottle worthy if I can even find one! It opens with a blast of ginger, but that quickly dies down, and it becomes the most gorgeous sugary, foodie clove scent ever. Makes me think of Gingerbread Poppet, if the ginger was switched for clove - all the sweet, comforting foodiness, but clovetastic. There's also a little hint of smokiness, which just makes it all the more complex and gorgeous - this is a sexy foodie, with a dark side. It also makes me think of Djarum Black clove cigarettes - the whole experience of them, from the sweet clove smoke, to the sugariness on your lips from the sugared paper This is the second bat I've tried, and they are both beyond phenomenal! LizziesLuck Report post Posted January 23, 2016 I love all of these notes so much, but I amp clove, so I am hoping it doesn't take over! Wet: Amazing. Such a riot of scent. I think the ginger in this is that effervescent ginger that I love so much. The clove is husky and sexy. It almost smells like there's tobacco with it, like clove cigarettes, in the best way possible. I want to bathe in this. This makes my eyes roll back in my head a little. Wow. Dry: I ADORE this. It is so much better than I could have thought. All those notes blend together to make the sexiest, smokiest, muskiest...just, mmmffffggg. So good. I want to roll around in it. I think it just jumped onto my top 10 list.
Aveya Report post Posted April 2, 2018 Wet : ... Fruity? I dunno what that's about. wet on skin: Thirteen, Feb '09. Super excited now that's one of my top ten fav blends. There's an overlap here I'm loving. dry on skin: So far so good, sticking around. It is exactly what I thought it would be - Gingerbread is the wrong term for it. Dark, miskatonic gingerbread maybe. Smoky, spicey, but not in a "well blended" generic way. The spices are like amazing pops being held together with a gingerbread glue. I'll have to watch how the musk ages with wear time; but so far this is amazing. Glad I was able to get a decant.
Cali Report post Posted April 8, 2018 Wow!!! I believe I used to have a bag in high school that smelled exactly like this. What the heck!!!! On my skin this is a little more spicier; lotsa ginger and ...I'm pretty sure it's the cardamom (that, or it's the clove, or the root-aspect) that's making this especially "rich/thick" and a bit heady on me. ....Almost to the point where it gets a lil hard to sniff. Not - that I can't smell it, no but that it's almost a little too extra. A furry ball of an evil creature with a soft spot on it's heart. That's secretly a big goofball too. Fun, but dark. A privilege to give this a try!
