fairnymph Report post Posted December 10, 2009 (edited) Extremely pale yellow, nearly colourless oil. Dry spices and dusty wood. Cedar, black pepper, white pepper, dried ginger - and som sweeter, darker, dry wood - maybe mahogany or teak? Edited December 10, 2009 by fairnymph
zankoku_zen Report post Posted December 17, 2009 Agreed. Cedar, black pepper and maybe ginger. Definitely a peppery wood.
crebbsgirl Report post Posted January 26, 2010 I'm getting more ginger than black pepper here. But cedar for sure. The black pepper comes out more on the drydown. Sweet woods, with a slightly masculine vibe.
myth Report post Posted June 21, 2010 Peppery wood. Cedar I think. Just a touch of fresh-sawn wood smell, combined with another lightly incensey-toned wood. Smooth, soft, unassuming. I like it. Sort of like Capela dos Ossos, only I can smell it better. On dry down the fresh cut edge rolls off and it's a sweetish incensed wood, perhaps a sandalwood/cedar combo, and most of the pepper is gone; it's really nice. Would be great layered with other stuff, too... I kind of want to try it with something that's all red musk and bright like Semiramis, that could use some extra grounding. Very comforting and quiet/contemplative on its own though. I've tested about 35 protos from this circle now, and this is the first one I've liked!
bheansidhe Report post Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) Fresh-sawn cedar, hints of champaca and orange blossom, and ginger, nutmeg, and pink peppercorn. Also a sharp pine resin in the vial. There are fifteen dodgy minutes where it's pure petshop (cedar pet bedding and disinfectant!), but the petshop settles down, and I get a light peppery floral mixed in with the woods - sweat pea? There's also a citrusy orange note. I agree with Myth that it needs more oomph at the bottom, but it's a lovely light cedar blend. Blood onmy hands Report post Posted July 28, 2011 I like this blend a lot. It's sort of like pepper-spicy cedar chips with a drydown that's more like a sweet, warm sandalwood incense. I might try to track down a bottle for my hubby at some point. I just wish that it were a bit stronger and that it had more throw to it.
