    Pumpkin Spice Absinthe

Hnnnnnngh, This is SO GOOD. It starts out with a lovely buttery caramel pumpkin, with warm spices making it a very sweet pumpkin note. This dies to the back and blends perfectly with the absinthe, giving it a sweeter fall tinged absinthe, and complementing each other perfectly. I don't even have words but this is so good on my skin, and lasts a decent amount. The initial pumpkin is very strong but do not be afraid to slather, the absinthe ending is much subtler, and all in all makes a sweet and intriguing scent.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

I know! Puppet Kitty is TEMPTING ME

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

I can't think of anything in the CG's that's an exact fit. White Rabbit has the linen, but the blend has a pretty different feel, at least on me. Cheshire Cat has lavender, citrus, and sort of a playful light feel that's similar, but it doesn't smell the same. Schrodinger's Cat is another one you might look at, but again, it's different, just kind of in the ball park. Possibly Embalming Fluid and Shanghai for the light, lemony tea smell. That's all I got! Hope it helps. I have white rabbit on my wishlist I may have to add the cats. HHHHHHhhhhhh it's my first (of my now 4 ) big bottles and I fear that I'll develop some nostalgia for it and die

Is there anything similar to Paper Phoenix? I know its basically dorian and antique lace, but I'm really looking for something similar to the vanilla linen dry-down

Oh dear I think I've broken my sniffer. This imp is aged. For how long? I'm not sure. But on me I smell the ocean. It's the same smell I smelled the other day while photographing an old house for sale, the salty brine of water and tidepools on the pacific. It's bitter and acrid, sunbaked water, warm driftwood, rotting kelp. And over it all a very faint throw of violet, though that could be the remnants of my roomates floral perfume settling into the carpet. But every sniff is salty and briny. All this time I've been looking for the perfect aquatic, when really it's just hiding here in plain sight. I smell like the fucking ocean, the tides, the crashing surf against the pebbled beach. It's a smell I've been nostalgic for. It's been years since I've seen the ocean, but this snaps me back there. It's perplexing, it's like a tidepool that I've dropped some overly elegant dramatic corsage in late at night after witnessing my boyfriend making out with someone else at prom. It's comforting and powerful. I'm confused and delighted, driven mad by this smell. It's perfect. It's haunting. It's beautiful. It's all wrong.

    Shub-Niggurath

When I first put it on I'm getting a peanut note, like a fresh baked peanut cookie with a touch of spice. It's pleasant though, but a bit odd. This fades away in the first 15-25ish minutes and is replaces with a fresh gooey ginger molasses cookie. It's fresh out of the oven and onto my wrists. I want it. I need it. I don't have hands anymore. Whoops. While I bang my bloody stumps together in the ER several hours later I sniff again. The cookie smell has faded down which means I'm safe from eating any more of my limbs. I now smell like a gingery resinous old house. Warm and comforting and a little woody, like baked goods faded into the very walls of an old house. It's pleasant and comforting like living in an old mansion filled with sunlight and wood paneling, and maybe one too many vengeful spirits. All and all this is a lovely scent, and lasts around 8-10 hours on me in it's different stages. It's great on a rainy day, just don't put it on anything you really need, or you WILL EAT YOUR HANDS. That's practically a guarantee. Hand eating juice. Oh god. I've entered shitposting reviews already.

    The Sea Foams Milk

It's not bad dry, pleasant even but the wet stage keeps giving me little whifs of spoiled milk and I'm not sure if I can get past that. On me dry theres something sweet and nostalgic. Friends agree, it reminds us all of something from our childhoods, but no one can quite place it. Maybe a little baby powder, or something piped into a childs play area? I can see the appeal, but I'm tragically getting mostly sweetness, and not enough salty brine.

    Has No Hanna

It's a floral. I don't know enough about florals to tell, but my brain is bringing me to some southeren swampy garden in the summer. Go look at someone else if you wish to ponder the olfactory sensations of flowers I know little about. It's a rather nice floral, combined with something my nose is detecting as apricot, but it could be yet another flower. It's nice, like sitting in a conservatory fresh on the skin. It has a hella strong throw, and my sheets smell of it after I applied it last night. Theres something earthy and bitter lurking under the florals, leading more to that stifling conservatory feeling, but in a nice way. Than dry-down hits. Boom, DILL. the florals back off and it's DILLS TIME TO SHINE BABY. Never before have I smelled dill in a perfume. It's not the pickled dill I'm getting but dill fresh from the ground, mixed with my mothers dill bread. It's a lovely floral dill that pulses and changes and it just... interesting. Also because I ignored the warnings and just read Anti-Depressant and went Anti-DeYESant I slathered this on. Did I feel energized and renewed? Yes. Did I accidentally hotbox my dorm room with perfume? YES. Do I have regrets? Naw. It's a truly interesting blend, and if you feel like something earthy and unique give it a whirl.

I normally break down my reviews, but this one is NOT a morpher on me. It's leather. I don't know enough about leather to really say the type, but it seems more like a newer chemically made leather than a well worn and sunned one. There's a faint whisper of black musk, but it seems to be really hiding. This is almost a leather single note, but something in this especially from a distance reminds me of an auto shop, maybe something metallic and almost a little oily hiding in with the leather? Maybe it's a touch of that new car smell (which I have been reported to hate) Overall it's too strong for me on it's own, but maybe a dot of something sweet layered with this would change my mind. Actually that seems like good advice. It's the RPG set, they're meant to be layered, and i feel like layering this could only make it better. To the experimentation table it'll go!

    Blood Kiss

In Imp: Dried Tart Cherries, much like the kind you'd use in holiday baking. Getting clove as well, and what might be some wine peeking out. Wet on Skin: A cherry base, but one that seems almost artificial. I'm getting a good amount of clove and vetiver backing it up, and something in it is just screaming the candle you burn between thanksgiving and christmas. I do get a sorta blood orangey vibe some other reviewers are getting, but this is threatining to turn december in a JoAnne crafts store on me. Dry-Down: I'm getting cherry candle. Or maybe one of those sangrea candles, all wine and spices, and maybe some orange? I don't know what it is that's screaming candle, but that's what it is. I want a soap that smells like this, but I'm not sure about how it is on me. As it's aging it seems to be going more vanilla, which is a blessing, so we'll see how that goes. Hour or so later. Vanilla! Finally Vanilla! A deep spicy rich vanilla, but still a nice one. I am mostly just getting craft store fragrance off of this though. I'd love this as a room spray or a body wash, and I'd probably love it on someone else, but this one just... Isn't for me.
  11. Oh! I have Hell's Belle in a little bag by my bed just begging to be tried!
  12. I know! I told myself that I could resist them but... now I'm not so sure

Some Honourable Mentions: Blood Kiss: Actually wearing this today! Titus Andronicus was Gifted to me in an order on here! Mary Shelley

In Bottle: Heavy Sweet Florals, a hint of anise, and something that is less aquatic and more soapy. There is a hint of something peppery Wet on Skin. Floral, but with an edge, The anise and what I assume is the ozone and rainy notes are lurking, but the impression I'm getting now is sweet rotting flowers in a vase on a side-table somewhere. Slightly unpleasant, but holds promise of a really good scent under the heavy florals Dry on Skin. This aquatic is not playing nice apparently. One friend says I smell like soap. My roommate says I smell like his grandmother, specifically of White Diamonds. It's nice enough, pleasant but sadly soapy instead of the absinthe dream I was expecting. I'll keep it around, and I think it would be lovely for a situation where you want to smell nice but not overwhelmingly like you're wearing perfume. Not for me, and sad that I don't seem to be getting much of the absinthe, but I don't actively dislike it.

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

I've been using wandcaps and they work well for me, something about tipping a bottle just screams DANGER. I also hate rollerballs, as I feel it's always not enough or too much perfume. I think different methods depend on where people apply though, I'm an inner wrists and one side of the neck kinda person, but espically if you're someone that likes a bit more I think that rollerballs really do wonders.
