How to remove scents from your skin

I will use whatever dish soap or hand soap isn't giving me a headache and combine that with baking soda and scrub gently. If there is still a scent left over, I will firmly wipe with alcohol and a cotton ball. But I try not to scrub too much because then my skin gets all irritated. If that doesn't take it off, I make sure I keep my wrists away from my head and often under a blanket until the headache goes away.

    Gelt

In the bottle this was all dry cocoa, and I was a little doubtful about how it would work as a skin scent. Then I put it on and the amber amped way up, with just a hint of cocoa poking through. It is so wearable for me, and I can't wait to see what the hubby thinks when he gets home.

    Rose Red

In the bottle this smells just like a florist's shop. Then when I put it on it really blooms and smells lovely. I had a two minute scary patch where it smelt a little rotten, but it came back out of that to a gorgeous true rose smell that is not cloying like an English rose. It's just lovely and sweet, and perfect.

    Temple of Dreams

I use this on my eye pillow when I drift off to sleep, so it doesn't morph at all. I smell lavender, rosemary, and possibly basil in it. While it is sort of an odd combination, I find it very pleasing. It doesn't help me remember my dreams, but i do sleep very soundly when I use it.

    Vixen

This smells like Snake Oil to me. Everything smells like something else today. So weird.

    Magdalene

I don't know if it is because i am obsessed with Katrina Van Tassel right now, but this smells so much like it to me. Maybe just a touch less lush, and a touch more herbal. i love it. Edited to add that it has faded fast to the herbal note i smelled before. I still like it, but it may be a scent locket scent due to lack of staying power.

    The Phantom Calliope

Bottle: spicy cherry Wet: Definitely cherry cola, with a spicy kick Dry: The verbena and cardamom come out a lot more to balance the sweetness of the cherry and cassis. This is the first bland I've ever been able to pick out all the notes in! I feel so proud of my sniffer! I don't know if this will give me a headache, but it's definitely getting another try!

    Regan

Imp: Well that smells plesant enough, slightly churchy, but not too much so Wet: Oh! I smell like a lush store! Which makes sense, since there is an orchid/vanilla bath thing, I think. do i want to smell like a Lush store? Dry: Yeah i do. I definitely could like smelling like a /lush store. This a very comforting scent and is worth a full trial instead of the itty bitty dot on the hand.

    Katrina van Tassel

My mailman was late, but he just came with my precious oils and I had to break open Kat and smell her first and I love her. She is everything I wanted Alice to be, and she just blew Alice off my favorites because she will never compare to Kat. I am blown away with the perfection of the rose and cream and honey all loving on me, with no powder, soap, foodiness... anf she reminds me of my first job at a coffee house. I don't know why, but she does. Must order more Kat. Maybe two more.

    Ave Maria Gratia Plena

Ave Maria Imp: smells like a new age shop. Wet: lemony, with a hint of baby wipe. But better than that makes it sound. Something in it is quite biting though. Random association: Lionel Ritchie "All Night Long" Also the shop at my childhood Catholic church where you could buy rosaries and prayer cards. I think this is the rosewood. Dry: gone a bit powdery. Despite the very interesting word association and memory tour it has taken me on, I can't see myself wanting to smell like this. I might keep it around for the trippy memory factor though. Wow. Is that Dr. Lieberman's office I smell? Maybe it reminds me of my mother or something. THAT'S what it is. It's gone a bit White Shoulders on me and that's what my mom wore when I was little. I searched the thread, and i see someone else was reminded of White Shoulders too!

    Snake Oil

A haiku for Snake Oil: I put you on then regret it for the next hour then love you again

    Horreur Sympathique

in the imp: Definitely a sweet juiciness Wet: Oh I'm digging this. It might be a juicy one that will work for me. I'm getting a white wine/champagne sort of smell which keeps the fruity smell from being too fruity Dry: This is a fruity blend I can get behind! I think it may go on the 5ml wishlist!

    Bien Loin D'Ici

In the imp: It smells like generic cologne to me, but i'm unfamiliar with many of these notes Wet: Still has the cologne smell, but a little more complex. I still can't pick anything specific out, but given the notes, I don't know if i would recognize any of them. I think the "cologne smell" might be the red musk, given other reviews. Dry: It's definitely unfolding into something much more pleasant then it was at first. I don't know that it will be a bottle purchase, but I can see how this would be nice some cold autumn night.

    Harlot

In the imp: Wet, but gentle roses Wet: the rose strengthens, but not too much. It's still quite lovely, and a hint of something more complex is coming through. I'm thinking this must be the cinnamon, and i like it so far! Dry: A eally lovely and grounded rose, akin to Zombi. I love Zombi, and Harlot is like her sexy sister. I like both these sisters, and it doesn't hurt that it's based on a gypsy recipe, seeing as I'm part gypsy!

    Bewitched

Deep, luscious green and berry scents that evoke images of woodland witchcraft and the raw power of nature: blackberry, sage, green tea, wild berries and dark musk. I really liked this at first, but then the green tea came out and took over the whole thing. I do hate green tea.

    The Scales of Deprivation

To me, this smells like air freshener! Not unpleasant, but just not something I want to smell like.

    Marie

If Marie Antoinette smelled like this...well I would have done anything for her. This is lovely. I might even buy an extra bottle to make into a perfume spray for my MIL. She likes rose scents, but this one is so much better!!

    Lucy's Kiss

Something in this smells like BO on me. I've never had this happen before and it was disturbing! The description sounds lovely, and it seems others have had good luck, so perhaps it's just a chemistry anamoly!

    O

O is everything good about honey smells, but none of the bad. i think this might be my new post bath, before bed scent.

    Croquet

It's fading really fast, but to me, this is what all hair products should smell like. If all hair products smelled like, I would be very happy indeed.

    Haunted

I had a dream the other night that I was working for someone famous and we were at some event with swag. There was this bottle of perfume with an oval shaped bottle and a blue top, and I tried it on. The way it smelled in my dream was like this smells on me. Spooky! it does smell a lot like Shalimar (yea! My mom wore it growing up so loves!) but in a less commercial way.

    Black Phoenix

Imp: Cherries, with a more complex warmness underneath Wet: Oh! Cherry almond goodness, with a spiciness! this is what I thought Bathsheba was going to smell like Dry: It's a bit powdery, but still lovely. Every once in a while I catch a whiff of it and think "What smells so good? oh it's me!!"
