    The Living Flame

This was pure florals to me, not much at all of vanilla or musk. Just pure florals, which is really not good for me as that's something that really becomes strong on my skin. I will agree, this was very red in its scent, but sadly due to the level of florals it just never quite agreed with me. It seemed warm and beguiling in its scent as well, and would be the scent of a true lady.

    Dead Man's Hand

This is very much a leather scent. It makes me think of the cowboys of the Old West and how they probably smelled coming off a trail ride. In fact what was really funny with this scent was that I was wearing it when I ran across a truck with the following bumper sticker: "Save a horse, ride a cowboy" This scent is probably what got a lot of women in trouble with cowboys. In the bottle and wet this is pure leather, but after drydown you get the dust coming out. Which is a very nice addition and doesn't subtract from the leather scent one bit.

    Corazon

Lovely scent and I so wish it wasn't going away. *sighs* In the bottle it's a lovely mix that I couldn't discern any particular notes from, it just smelled light and lovely. Wet this scent had a strong mango scent that upon dry down still stayed pretty strong. In the background there's a hint of musk or amber and is similar to Coyote. After about an hour this scent became very much amber and musk on me, and reminded me quite a bit of Coyote. Yet there is something very different at the same time with this scent, which must be the lavender or sage. This is absolutely wonderful and already a favorite, I think before it's completely gone I should be ordering another bottle.

    Coyote

I am in love. When I first saw this scent during the update I automatically bought a 5 ml of it and I am so happy that I did too. It's beautiful. In the bottle, I caught the musk and dried woods scents to it. But once I put it on I could picture running over the plains through dusty areas and absolutely thrilling in the freedom of it all. After that it just kept hitting certain chords in me that were very, very happy in this scent. What is kind of interesting with this scent was that it also nailed a few memories of attending Pow Wows when I was younger as well. The doe skin scent must be bringing back those memories. As it also reminds me of a young warrior on the plains perhaps taking part in a hunt. All in all, this scent has just become part of a heavy rotation. This is absolutely wonderful and very stimulating to me.

    The Star

On me this scent both in the bottle and on remained the same, which made me very happy indeed. It was a coconut background to a lemon-lime scent actually. To me this was a very bright and shiny scent, just like a star. I loved the lemon-lime brightness to it, with the coconut taking it down from overbearing sweetness. An excellent mix from the lab, I definitely need to buy a larger bottle of this one. Sadly, my imp was accidentally left upside down so I have very little left now.

    The Red Queen

In the bottle this was an overwhelming cherry scent to me. Which once I put it on was still there, very strong black cherries. The cherry scent remained for a good half hour, then morphed into an almost wicker furniture like scent. Reminded me of the patio furniture they use to sell at a store near me every summer. Then after a half hour of the wicker scent it changed into a cedar like fragrance. It wasn't an especially strong cedar either, a very lite one actually. So if you like cedar, but perhaps can't take it very strong, then this might be really good for you. I liked Old Kathmandu for the cedar but it was overwhelming on me, so Red Queen is actually really good for me in that regard. I'm still considering whether I want a bigger bottle of this, perhaps one day though.

    Hunter Moon 2004

Hunter Moon arrived today and I had to try it immediately like everyone else. In the bottle and when I first put it on, it's a sharp, fruity scent. After awhile the fruitiness begins to mellow out into a dark, musk & smokey wine scent. There's definitely something wild and feral to it though. Makes me think of a big cat racing through a forest in India near a shrine where people have wine offerings to a god or goddess. I definitely liked this one more than Harvest Moon, and it actually reminds me a little of (Old) Madrid with the sharp fruit beginnings. Which is a very good thing, because Madrid I absolutely love and I really like this one as well.

    Job Interview Recommendations

I would recommend going very light or none at all. Where I work has been holding interviews recently as well, we had one woman come in who was wearing perfume. Before she even walked in the door her perfume did, she had it on that strong. It was a very strong floral scent too, and several of us didn't like it. Unfortunately for her, the fact that her perfume was so strong has made her a joke around the office now. Whenever she's referred to by the interviewers or anyone in the office we simply call her the Perfume Woman. We have no idea what her qualifications are, all we know is the perfume she was wearing was so strong. Hopefully if she's hired, we'll be able to forget about the perfume problem. Unless she wears it like that everyday. Good luck on the interview and let us know what you end up going with.

    Bliss

When I tried Bliss I was getting something akin to Hershey's Chocolate bar with almonds. Kind of a nutty scent mixed in with the absolute yumminess of chocolate. Plus, I suddenly had a very distinct urge to go lick chocolate off of someone male. I will definitely be needing a 5ml of this.

Best BPAL blends without floral notes

I love the spicy, fruity or woody type scents, yet not so much the floral scents. I'd highly recommend: Old Madrid (more spicy, deep scent) Jack (creamy, yummy scent) Hamadryad (suprising given that it does have florals, yet has more wood I think) Hemlock (this scent is rather minty to me, though on a friend it had a deeper note that I couldn't quite catch) I second, Scherezade (spices) & The Hesperides (fruity notes are wonderful) And I agree with spaceprostitute about florals being mixed with fruit or spices, some of them can be really good. I mainly have problems with Lavender, Lilac, and strong florals scents. Though I found Hamadryad worked nicely, Old Glasgow was a bust unfortunately.

    Madrid

Swarthy and vibrant! An elegant, full-bodied scent that ignites all the darkest passions. Bold red wine, mimosa, and a trickle of clove. ************************************ 7am Initial Wet- Me, Me, Me!!!!! I love this scent, Faerykin is an absolute doll to send this one along. Kind of a spicy fruity scent. Reminds me of Maraschino cherries, yet is playful and oh so mischievous. Delicious already, I just want to go to work and create lots of mischief and chaos among the office and especially for a certain bitchy coworker. *grins* Definitely a me scent, and especially good for fridays. 8am Initial Dry- The scent has stayed the same and on an unexpected side has kept me awake on the drive to work. Love spicy scents for that. 9-10am Dried- Smells like red hot candies almost, yet there's still a cherry like scent there. Although I can detect something else there, probably the wine or mimosa. There's almost a dirty musky scent to it, perhaps the clove coming out more. **Love this scent and will definitely be getting a 5ml of this scent at some point, it's on the list of them. Wasn't really long lasting, but stayed on my wrist pretty well until 5-6pm. Would probably want to carry for reapplication. Really good for fall or mischief making though, a fun scent most definitely. Thanks Faerykin!!!!
