  1. I used to wear the Body Shop's Satsuma oil in the summer. Sometimes it would be plain Satsuma oil, and sometimes it would be a Satsuma and Japanese musk combination. I'm still relatively new to BPAL notes, though... is there anything that would be nice and bright and fresh like that, without being overbearing?

    Black Cat

Minty... rosey... but definitely more rose than mint. And there's a hint of spiciness underneath. I like this, but not enough to hang onto it. One of my friends is very much into rose, and this will smell lovely on her. Oooh, though later it starts to morph into the bandaid kind of smell. Uck. No. No no. Too bad. I love the concept!

    Sloth

Oh. I love this one. I had never tried vetiver until I received a decant of Terrae oil. And I wondered, "Ooh, is this vetiver that I'm loving so much? That's so grounding, and relaxing and peaceful?" Yes. It is. Because now I have tried Sloth, and I have much love for the vetiver. It just grounds me the minute I wear it -- and I'm trying it tonight when I'm going over to my brother's in my PJ's to watch movies. It's perfect. <3 Sloth!

    Phantasm

Lovely lemon! A strong burst from the get-go, and not much else. It's nice for about an hour, and then it's gone! Very sad, but I'll keep this imp for the summer, where it will be nice and light and fresh!

    Morgause

Sharp, overpowering. Mostly violet, which sometimes I like on my skin, and sometimes I don't. After a while it settles, and more of the incense comes out. I admit to feeling disappointed about it, though because I was hoping it would be more night blooming flowers, and less violet. I'll pass this on to a friend that I think it will smell lovely on! It's beautiful, but just not me

    Terrae Massage Oil

I absolutely ADORE this oil. It certainly fits the definition of grounded to me. I also love that I can smell it the next morning when I wake up. I get vetiver from it, as cuervosueno does, but also the oakmoss and sage. It's heavenly.

    Midwinter's Eve

YUMMY! This is another one I wantses more of -- along with Snow White and Krampus. It's sweet, but not overly so -- rich plums, and winter berries with cool snow. I have always liked Bordello, but wished it had a bit more depth. This has more depth. YUMMY! (again)

    Chanukkiyah

Incense and baked goods. Then I read the notes again, and nod -- amber and baked goods, though the beeswax settles in after a while with the olive oil, so that this isn't as sweet as I feared it would be. I'm hoping this doesn't become overpoweringly sweet as it settles on my skin for the evening. Nice!

    Jólasveinar

I like this in the initial stage, because it's more dirt and moss with a hint of sweetness than anything else. But yay for my body chemistry, and it amping the pastries more than anything else. So disappointed, because it renders what should be a complex blend to just food. Though! As time goes by, more of the orchid comes out, so maybe there is hope for this yet!

    Krampus

I am SO glad I ordered this. Because? It smells SEXY. Who knew that I smelled so good in red musk and leather? And just enough wood to lend a nice smoky flavour to it. This is a MUST ORDER MORE RIGHT NOW PLS. Now if only I had a man to slather this on, as well!

    La Befana

For some reason, I didn't get it when ordering a decant of this that 'charcoal' literally meant charcoal. And then I started reading the reviews, and I started to worry. But! I needn't have, because the charcoal, combined with the candy, smells utterly delicious! It's a trifle sweet (I tend to amp sweet badly), but initially, I really, really love this. I'll have to update after a long-haul wearing, to see if the sweet ended up making me sick.

    Angeronalia

This is all citrus and gardenia on me, but light. So very light, and this disappoints me, because what I smell is heavenly. I suffer from SAD, and this, I think, is the perfect light and happy winter scent. Maybe I'll get what I want from it if I slather! It's lovely.

    November

I think that I am in love with BPAL's snow accord. I already had loved October, though it tends towards masculine on me. November is nice, with the snow accord added to the leaves... I don't think I love it, love it. But I like it enough to wear the decant, though it does push to the masculine on me as well, so I'll only wear it when in a certain mood!

    Seasonal Affective Disorder

I also finally admit to suffering from SAD, and I've been having a really, really hard time. I finally went out and bought myself a goLite, but I've also been relying very, VERY heavily on TAL Anthelion. I have some bergamot oil, and I think I'll get myself some of the others -- grapefruit especially. Thanks for starting this thread

    Mistletoe

This... smells like cat pee on me I definitely won't be wearing this as a fragrance, but I think without my skin chemistry messing things up, it will be lovely to fragrance the room with

    Diwali

I want to eat my arm! It smells heavenly -- but I think it is going to be one that overwhelms me as I wear it, because it is very, very sweet. I could be wrong, though.. I hope so. Because it's yummy, yummy, yummy! On me, it smells mostly mango and lotus root, though the cedar comes out after a while. Oh, this is very, very good.

    Snow White

Wow. Wooooow. This is the first of the Yule blends I've tried so far that I simply MUST HAVE. I have been looking for the perfect 'night blooming flower' scent - and I have found a few with BPAL that I like, but don't LOVE. Oh Beth. Oh Beth. Why must this be an LE? I think that I will have to order a few bottles and hoard until it comes around again. It's simply stunning. It's floral, but also kind of minty and cool. If this is the BPAL snow accord people have been raving about, count me in as a fan.

    Noche Buena

Like bagfish, I find that this reminds me of the wet stage of Coral Snake -- which I love. Must be the plumeria -- and it's lovely! It's fruity and sweet and lush. Unlike bagfish, it doesn't smell generic perfumey on me, which I'm very thankful for. I don't know if I'll order this, though, because I have what I want from plumeria and fruit with Coral Snake. We'll see how this lasts as it settles on through the evening.

    Lick It One More Time

I was hoping. HOPING! that LIOMT would be like Tokyo Stomp, because I didn't order enough of that. I'm disappointed that it wasn't more vanilla-y, but not disappointed overall! Because I love this for being its own self -- meaning more candy cane, less girl guide cookie. Still yummy! It clears my nose, which is great, but also smells delicious. It fades kinda fast on me, though, but I think I'll be ordering a big bottle of this, so I can smell myself and say YUM!

    El Dia de los Reyes

My Yule decants finally arrived in the mail today, and YAY! El Dia De Reyes was the first one I had to try, because I love -- LOVE -- Mexican hot chocolate. I was a little worried though, because BPAL chocolate scents smell like nuts on me, and BPAL's coffee is generally too overpowering and makes me feel queasy. That being said, this blend is DIVINE. It's soothing, and comforting, and and just enough coffee and chocolate so as not to be sickeningly sweet and overpowering. I love it!

    Baobhan Sith

I wish I'd gotten around to trying this one sooner, because it's almost the perfect summer scent for me. Initially, it's totally all grapefruit, but as that note settles, the apple blossom and tea and ginger come out -- and I like this ginger. It is restrained as others have described, which is good, because I find ginger that goes crazy hurtses my head. I'll put this imp away for sunnier, warmer times. It's a keeper.

    Dragon's Claw

Dragon's blood and sandalwood -- things that work on me, and this didn't disappoint. The sandalwood was quite sharp on me at the beginning and took about a half hour to mellow with more of the db taking over to sweeten it up a little. But... I don't LOVE this as much as I thought I would. It's nice, but pretty faint on me.

    Eat Me

This is alright, but really, really faint on me. Which is probably good, because if it were strong, it would likely make me sick because it's awfully sweet. Smells mostly of vanilla and currants, but barely there. Sadness. I'll be passing this imp along.

    Dragon's Musk

I love dragon's blood, and I love musks -- both kinds of notes tend to work well on me, so that this worked for me was no surprise. I love it. It's a deeply comforting, yet sexy scent.

    Othello

Arabian musk with two roses and a bevy of Middle Eastern and Indian spices. I try all scents, regardless of whether they're classified as guy or girl, because I tend to think things that are 'guy' smell kinda nice on me! This is another rose blend, and one I put on with great fear. Initially, I love it, because the musk and the spices tamper down the rose and make it play nice. But then the inevitable happens, and left to smoulder on my skin, the rose comes back and takes over E-VER-Y-THING. Which makes me sad, because it's the musk and the spices I really, really love. I don't hate Othello, but I think I'll be passing this imp along
