    Absinthe

In the bottle: Holy anise, Batman! As a person who loves both anise and Absinthe, even I was taken aback by this, a little. The first scent is strong anise, followed by the wormwood. To be honest, I don't smell anything but those two things at first sniff. Application: Anise is still very strong, but the wormwood is making itself more known. 5 minutes after application: Hot damn, but that does smell nice. The anise mellows a lot, and the cardamom and mint lightly come to the surface. The fragrance is very crisp and green, much like the liquor itself. It smells very clean. 1 hour after application: The same as 5 minutes after, which is just amazing. I have very acidic skin, meaning a lot of scents morph and get weird on me. This is the same as when I applied and it just smells so clean. The anise is still present, but very light and doesn't scream "black licorice." I was pretty skeptical of this fragrance when I first smelled it, but it is now one of my favorites. It's one of the very few fragrances that has both staying power on me, but I don't feel like I'm swimming in a cloud of fragrance. I've also gotten several compliments on it, which is great! <3

    The Cat

I was a little nervous, after reading the reviews of this one, but I greatly enjoy it. I'm not sure it specifically calls to mind the Cat from Coraline, but I really like it. Wet: Smells like a mixture of honey and cedar. I don't get any of the other notes in this on my skin, at all. Dry: VERY strongly honey. Not sticky, bright honey, but a deep, woodsy honey. The cedar note all but vanishes, and I'm left with a musky honey, which is very, very nice, but I don't get the cedar or benzoin at all, which is kind of a bummer. Still a keeper, and a weekly wear.

    Molly, the Reaper of Justice

BPAL newbie, here. This was one of my first scents and I was really excited to try it because I'm a huge Pretty Deadly fangirl. In the bottle, it scared me a little; its very creamy and floral. My first reaction was that it was waaaay too sweet for me. Wet: Smelled as it did in the bottle, but the cedar and tobacco really jumped out. In fact, it was almost peppery. Very different. Dry, 30 minutes after application: The only notes I picked up on my skin was the cedar and musk. Which is not a bad thing, it was a very deep, nice smell. On one hand, I was disappointed that all of the complex notes from the wet scent all but disappeared on my skin, but the remaining smell was quite pleasant. My only complaint is that after an hour, the scent was still there, but barely detectable. I had to put my wrist to my nose to detect it. After another hour it was all but gone. This is definitely a "reapply" frequently scent for me, but I really like it.
