  1. When i first put this on I was not a fan. Creamy, sweet, plastic. No myrhh, no musk, practically diametrically opposed to what I was hoping for when I bought my imp.

However after 20 minutes or so, the myrrh and musk have come more to forefront, making this a smokiefm spicier scent. It is stil creamier and sweeter than I was aiming for, but it's much more wearable.

  2. Wet in the bottle, this smells like pumpkin latte, although the coffee not is faint. Wet on the skin, the coffee note pretty much disappears on me, and it smells like pastry. It took me awhile to think of what this reminded me of, and then I got it. It smells almost exactly like "Mornings in New Orleans", from Liliths 2014(?). And the same overwhleming scent, too, although it wasn't until the second application a few hours later that this came clear. Just a light swipe of the imp wand was so strong a co-worker across the (small) room asked what the smell was. I had to use an alcohol wipe because it was giving me a headache.

I'm going to stash this until next year, see how it ages. If it doesn't tame, or the coffee note (my whole raison d'achat) doesn't become more prominent I'll make it a room spray. It's not a *bad* scent, but now something I want to *wear*, at least, not yet.

  3. Holy Moses, this is *apple*. Like juices running down your chin after a bite apple. There is a teensie bit of floral from the apple blossom, but the floral still has an apple overlay. Patchouli, which usually amps on me, is pretty much nowhere that I can smell and I admit to being disappointed. Don't get me wrong - I love the Lab's apple and I will cherish my imp,but I recently got a lotof fruit scents and was hoping for more patch.

It's still a lovely scent if you love apples.

  4. Tester from Wench457:

In the bottle it's honeyed apple to the nth degree. Honeycrisp with extra honey. I seriously want to walk around with the bottle strapped to my nose (weird as that would look).

On skin, it takes on a totally different note. It's got an added musky vanilla scent, with just a smidge powder. It's much more complex than the "in the bottle" smell, but just as lovely. I hope to get my hands on a bottle before they all disappear.

  5. Wow...crazy. I'm not getting "leather" from this *at all*, I'm getting red musk all the way (my skinistry has a tendency to amp that scent over everything else), with a tail end of honey and spice. I'm really insanely curious to know what this will age into. I'd love it if the leather comes out a bit more, because I suspect that will take this over the top.

  6. This is a very clean Spring scent, which makes me happy because that's totally what I was craving from this update. I'd almost swear there was cucumber in this, but there's no green, just floral deliciousness of the blending of gardenia/jasmine/tuberose. Not really getting any spice or wood, but that's fine. This is probably the break out winner of the decants I ordered (this and Womb Furie).

  7. Color me one of the crazy fans. I'm not a GC SO fan - even aged. I find it deadly dull. *But* as a base for other scents it's fantastic, and this scent is no exception. I had avoided it before because I was afraid it would be overly sweet, but it isn't. The honeys bring rich thickness and the spice, while not overly "spicy" keep it from becoming overwhelming and the vanilla brings a softness to it. I'm thinking I will need a bottle.

  8. The loveliest fairy picked this up for me, and I've just put it on. It's mostly my frenemy RED MUSK first and foremost; I struggle with red musk because it's just so powerful. One little dot of this oil pressed between my wrists is plenty for me to wear! Once it starts to dry and settle, I smell what may be beeswax - it's not sweet enough to be honey, I think. I also get a bit of down and dirty smell that reminds me of patchouli, but I wear patchouli so infrequently I'm not confident in identifying it. I'm not getting anything that says 'poppies' to me, which is kind of a shame because I love me some opium smells and I was wondering if the poppies would be in that vein.

Overall, it is powerful and sexy and a little smutty (literally Smut-ty, with all that red musk). A fun perfume that's good for staying in, and for such a good cause!

^^I agree with this entirely, although the "dying bees" is definitely honey, rather than beeswax, to me. The honey sweet that compares to the sugar sweet of Smut. The poppies make it warmer than Smut, at least to my nose.

This definitely has major throw, and staying power. The tester I applied this morning is still going strong! I am so happy to have a bottle.

  9. Honey and nectar indeed! This may have swept right to the top of my favorite scents *ever* from the Post. The honey is not the thick, rich honey I usually get, the overall scent is more subtle than that. But its loved note is definitely there, adding honeyed sweetness to the nectar. The nectar is more of a general floral scent than any particular flower.

I know it doesn't *read* like much from my description, but it's thoroughly gorgeous. I want to pour it in a spray bottle and use it as an allover body scent. It's just subtle enough I think I could get away with it, too.

  10. Oh, my. I have decided I love Dead Leaves almost as much as I love fruits, although for a totally different reason. Such an understated and 'clean' scent, and to my nose, in my hair, it takes center stage, with the honey adding sweetness. The patxhouli and musk are very much background, adding depth and interest, but not really distinguishable as themselves. So far the Dead Leaves have been just what I hoped for - fantastic smelling, and not too sweet. I can't stop smelling my hair!

  11. Decant

In the bottle this is mostly sweet - honey sweet, with a bit woodiness. After dry down the frankincense comes more into play, and there is just a hint of fruit, but it's mostly rich honey sweet. Which is just fine with me - I love my honeys. This definitely deserves a place in my honey scent collection.

  12. So sparkly! This one is a bit thicker than Titan Toadstools, but still easy to apply. Mostly opaque in two coats. I'm tempted to say this is a medium holographic glitter polish? It certainly seems to have some holo flame to it.

I suspect someone with better nail art skills than mine could do some gorgeous things with this shade.

  13. Agony and ecstasy: black leather and damp red rose.

Oh, this is lovely! A little sweet, but less sweet than Rose Petals and Champs, but not quite as dry as Rose Boughs and Rose Roots. If you are a rose fan, this is one you simply must have.

The leather is very much background here, addi g just a hint of je ne sais quois. So happy to have it in my collection.

  14. This smells almost exactly like fresh mulled cider. The apple is not the frsh apple of, say, Lips of Flame, Heart of Stone, it's more of a baked apple, with spices. It reminds me of my Wassail Atmo, but even more cider-y. I get almost no pastry, but that's fine by me as I prefer my pastry scents in Atmos, rather than wearables. A definitely excellent Winter Holiday scent, and I can see layering it with last year's Gingerbread scents and Fezziwig's Ball with great success!

  15. Like the first reviewer this was all chocolately fig in the bottle (which made me leer-y, actually), but once on my hair they faded in the background. The dead leaves note took center stage, with just a hint of the other notes adding depth and sweetness. I really like the cleanness of the dead leaves note, so this Weenie series has been a total win for me.

  16. (decant from forum circle)

"feels like something to wear to a bawdy party held in a decaying mansion-part glamor, part sex, all disaster"

Nailed it, although what I get from this scent is heavy on the "musk mank", similar to Apteros Eros and original Pulcinella and Theresina, and not smoky sultry incense. The other notes are there in a faint sweet-spicy undertone, but I have to get my nose in close in order to really pick them up. There is something about Crimson that appeals to me in a dark and dangerous sort of way, but it's not something I would actually wear often. I shall treasure my decant though!

  17. (decant from forum circle)

This is lovely! In the bottle and on the skin I get mostly fruit and rose petal, with a hint of something else in the background. The opoponax, I think, but mostly because I know less about how that smells than the others, and it doesn't smell like the rest of the notes usually do to me. (confused yet?)

I'm not getting any patchouli or vetiver, which might usually disappoint me as I love those notes - but the notes I am getting play so well together I like it just as it is!

  18. (imp received in a swap)

So this is a first for me. Wet in the bottle and wet on skin I get the usual caramel that many Weenies do on my skin and in my nose (Calaveras, Devil's Night, etc), but when it starts drying down I smell cigarettes. Not tobacco accord, which I quite like, but cigarettes. I just did a reapplication to be sure, because I really had high hopes. I just learned how much I like BPAL pumpkin, and generally I like BPAL beeswax - but this is giving me a headache.

Oh, well - still so many other pumpkin smells to love, and I'm sure this decant can find a loving home.

  19. Received in a swap

I like the fruit note. I like it a lot. There's also a bit of dirty note - probably from the neroli - that keeps it from being too sweet. I'm not entirely sold on the mint, though. I see how it's meant to add an electric note? And it kind of does...but there's also kind of a Tom's of Maine toothpaste vibe going on.

I think I need to live with this a bit more and see how I decide the mint goes.

  20. I was very considerately gifted an imp of this in a swap and was *very* excited to try it. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately all things considered) this did not work for me. It's leather, certainly, but very faint and with a bitter overlay. And it's exceedingly faint (subtle?). I can definitely see this working really well on a man, but unlike several other "manly scents" I've run into on BPAL it does nothing for me when I wear it. Perversion is a much better fit. :)

  21. This is really lovely, and more subtle than I was expecting. The leather in this reminds me alot of the leather in Yule Buddies, a very warm, well aged leather. With the tobacco notes like high end cigars and the Chardonnay this is the most welcoming Duungeon you've ever been in. You're sure to have the most memorable evening. I don't really smell the rum or tonka as such...for me I think they add the subtle sweetness that underlays this scent.
