    Theme in Yellow

(imp received in a swap) So this is a first for me. Wet in the bottle and wet on skin I get the usual caramel that many Weenies do on my skin and in my nose (Calaveras, Devil's Night, etc), but when it starts drying down I smell cigarettes. Not tobacco accord, which I quite like, but cigarettes. I just did a reapplication to be sure, because I really had high hopes. I just learned how much I like BPAL pumpkin, and generally I like BPAL beeswax - but this is giving me a headache. Oh, well - still so many other pumpkin smells to love, and I'm sure this decant can find a loving home.

    Switch Witch 2015

Want anything from Yellowstone? Be it postcards, key chains, shot glasses, pint glasses, or huckleberry what have you? I'm not a big collector of things, but I'll be happy to get a postcard. I've no idea what huckleberry tastes like, but I'm down to try some. 9/18/15 I know there is a question about "decorating style", but if you're comfortable, could you should us some photos of your spaces? For those of us who like to art and craft, it can be nice to have a visual sense of decorating style! I covered that in my questionnaire, but my decorating style right now is "cardboard box" as I'm living in the house of a semi-hoarder and there's barely room for me in my room, let alone stuff. 9/19/15 For those of you who don't drink alcohol, can you specify if you live with any drinkers or ever have alcohol on hand for guests, vs. abstaining and preferring not to have it around at all? No problems with booze in the house. It's great for cooking and baking and mulling for Thanksgiving/Christmas! Are you a fan of the TV show Penny Dreadful? I *watch* it, but I don't know that I'm a fan, as such. But if you want to send something Dorian/Lily/Creature related I'd probably like it. What are your coffee and tea preferences? Do you prefer one, the other, both, or neither (and if it's neither, what about things like hot cider and cocoa)? Loose leaf or bags, whole bean or ground? Is caffeine OK? Any gadgetry you're in need of? Any brands or flavors that you particularly love, loathe, or want to try? Caffeine preferences are fairly well covered in the ?aire. As for gadgetry: While I'd love love love a new burr grinder, my mother would probably kill it like she did the last two. Other than that, we're covered. Cocoa can be good, as long as it's not some version of Swiss Miss. What's your sense of humor like? Do you enjoy puns? Play on words? Dirty humor? Dry humor? Who are some of your favorite comedians? I like most comedy as long as it's not racist, sexist or otherwise mean spirited. I loved Robin Williams and George Carlin back in the day (80's-mid 90's), early early Dana Gould, Richard Wright, Lewis Black, Doug Stanhope's first 2 specials, Margaret Cho, Marc Maron, A Bit of Fry and Laurie (from the early 90's), Bill Bailey & Dylan Moran, Rowan Atkinson's Black Adder and his live comedy specials (Mr. Bean can stay behind). I also adore QI, which I mentioned somewhere. Dry, acerbic, self-deprecating, offbeat, surreal, sarcastic, punny (as long as it's clever/intellectual/unexpected). Dirty and Graveyard humor's fine, as long as it doesn't violate what I said above. Do you like board games? If so, which ones? Traditional or more unique? (like Settlers of Catan, Small World, Red Dragon Inn, etc) I'd like to like board and card games, but I have no one to play with. Is there anything that you specifically do NOT want to receive? Candy corn, marshmallow peeps, anything from Starbucks (well, maybe a mug, if's it's nicely decorated), meat or meat flavored things (we're veggies) unless it's for the dog. Oregon or Tazo chai mix. Plain or fun socks? Either! For plain socks - black. Black, black, calf length or longer. For fun socks...whatever! Please no ankle socks, unless they're meant to be slippers. Name one (or as many as you would like) thing you would like to learn more about? Everything? Seriously, I'm like a magpie with the shiny shiny things to learn. Languages, occulty things, mythology, neuroscience, comparative religion, oceanography. Cooking, baking, needlefelting, sewing, leathercraft, beading, wire wrapping, coding. All the things! What one thing you would like to do more of? Again, everything? Super specific, though, yoga and Tribal Fusion belly dance. I miss taking classes. What are some things that fascinate you? Or, What would you like to know more about? See above. 9/20/15 Would you like any cookie butter (just to be clear, store-bought, not home-made, and does contain wheat since it's, y'know, cookie butter)? Never had it, but I'm down to try. Is there any particular piece (or pieces) of art (painting, photograph, etc) that speaks to you in some way? Van Gogh and Maxfield Parrish. The Decadent and Art Nouveau movements. But I love most art in person. I've been to a few art museums and I just love to stand and marvel. What kinds of things would you like from the Lilith BPAL or BPTP update (or are you joining a decant circle?) Not in a circle because funds. But Walking the Prime Meridian, Ghost Revelry, Blood and Judgement and Vast Similitude Liliths, and Once Upon a Time and Catch Me Dad Fatherhoods sound lovely. I'd be down with sniffies of any of them, just to have the pictures. Do you want to received knit or crocheted items? If so, could you describe or even link to a couple of items similar to what you would like to receive? Love them! I'm noraknickers on ravelry, which is also on the master spreadsheet. Lots of stuff in my favorites (for ideas), and some stuff on pinterest. Would you like anything from Lush? I have no idea. I have a couple of things I buy "regularly" (like, once a year) from Lush, and the rest of the time I have no idea what's in their catalog. Cocoa butter bars might be nice...and I think they sell make-up powders? Flying Fox is probably my favorite smell, followed by Karma. I don't do baths, so no bath bombs or melts. Do you prefer hand-made or store-bought? Whatever is easier for my witch! I mean, I love the handmade stuff, but if it's easier to buy, I'm down. If, OTOH, you love to craft...craft it up! SPICY! Scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being "oh, that's a bit too much black pepper for me" and 10 being "ghost pepper? scorpion pepper? I laugh at these! I love as much heat as you can throw my way!" Where are you? In the middle. I love me some spicy, but I do have limits. What is your BPAL "Holy Grail"? Halloween in the Misk U Library - received an imp in a swap and I *love it*. I love almost all the Lovecraftian scents (except Misk U, sadly) Analog or Digital? Or Both? Mostly digital. I think I have a tape player somewhere - but where *exactly* is anybody's guess. We do have a VHS player, so movies could be analog. My car has a CD player, so those are fine. What scents from other perfume companies are you really wanting to have in your collection and or are just really wanting to test? Companies like NAVA, Arcana, Solstice Scents, Possets, Haus of Gloi etc.....? I've been wanting to try ZOMG Smells! Girl Genius line, but the Lab and Post always take my money first. 9/22/15 Do you have an affinity for any specific animals? Not really - I just love the animals! Furry or scaly, swimming or crawling or flying. I'm an animal fan. Kitchen Needs or Wants? No needs, but (I think I mentioned before) big muffin tins and silicone molds in fancy shapes (or even muffin liner shapes) would be most welcome Makeup! Do you like it, would you want some? If so what brands do you like to wear? I wear it sometimes. I'm very interested in trying Espionage Cosmetics particularly. Chocolate fiends ahoy! What kind of chocolate do you like? Do you like any other things in it or just plain good ole chocolate? Dark chocolate all the things! Especially über-dark chocolate, like 80-90%. Almonds, orange, spices and chilis are welcome additions. Would you be opposed to receiving a ton of Halloween themed items? Maybe a half ton? 9/23/15 Would you be interested in any special little thing I might be able to pick up from the Great Lakes Bat Festival this Saturday? Both Janell Cannon (author of Stellaluna and other kids' books) and Fiona Reid (illustrator for lots of animal field guides) will be there, so would you possibly be interested in something like an autographed copy of Stellaluna or one of Cannon's or Reid's other books? Or something from the Organization for Bat Conservation, like a shirt or other swag? Probably late answering this, but yes, totally! What items from the Weenie update interest you, should you have to option of getting anything as a gift from your Witch??? Would you be ok with decants, or bottles? Arg! The Weenie update just killed me! Any Dead Leaves, The Magic Circle, The Witches Sabbath, October. I mean - I want half the update (the other half is too foody or has death-notes), but I'll list those in particular. Decants is peachy with me unless you're dying to give away a bottle What's your favorite scary movie? Or movies, either way. If you don't like horror, what are your favorite movies to watch this time of year? Probably the BBC production of The Woman in Black, not the movie which came out a few years ago. I love to watch ghost stories, classic monster films, Nightmare Before Christmas, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, plus A&C Hold that Ghost 9/24/15 Blu-ray or DVD? DVD Game systems - console or computer? Mac/PC? Which console? Computer games. I have a steam account. Are you dressing up for Halloween and if so do you need any accessories for if? Not dressing up, alas. Talk to me about bags, what kinds do you like? Sizes and styles? I can always use more knitting project bags - there are some in my etsy favorites to give an idea. Aside from that, I like bags with pockets - lots of pockets, and I like bags I could use for an overnight stay, if one came up last minute. What are your favorite fandoms and do you want to receive anything related to such? I don't really have a fandom as such...although thinking about it, maybe Nightmare Before Christmas and Invader Zim. Actually, you could probably get me almost anything Jhonen Vasquez related and I'd mini-flail, at the very least. What are you planning to order from the Weenies update? I might (depending) run a decant circle for Post Weenies, but unless my finances get a huge injection I'm not likely to order much from the Lab Weenies. At most I might order a decant or two. The Last Huzzah of the NY Renaissance Faire happens this weekend and I'm going! Is there anything you might want? (Besides a turkey leg, which won't ship well!) Again, probably too late, but I love Renn Faire stuff! You know, whatever might have struck your fancy. Even stickers (if they had such). Do you like comics or graphic novels? Any issues or collections you want to read? Locke & Poe sound intriguing. Gris Grimly? I'm fairly out of the loop and everytime I step into the comic shop the sheer variety makes me huddle in the corner. Do you like fanfic? Would you like a story written for you as part of your gift? What characters/fandoms/pairings etc do you like? I've no objections to fanfic, but I'm not really fan enough to appreciate it. But if you want to write me something I'll be happy to read it! Where do you have wishlists at? If you could please link to them or to a post that links to them. (Amazon, Etsy, Think Geek, Pinterest, Sephora, Lush, BPAL/BPTP, Soap Box Company, everywhere and anywhere!) Amazon, etsy...my Lab/Post wishes are in my sig. I think I have a wishlist for SockDreams? I'm too lazy to keep wishlists elsewhere. 9/25/15 Let's say you have indicated interest in receiving a hand knitted item. What colors, exactly, do you like? If you could provide color swatches here or to pinterest (or something visual), that would help out a lot. Not a fan of uterine pink or navy blue...aside from that I've no real preferences. Would you rather receive a bunch of little packages through the round, a couple of medium packages, or one big package at the end? Whatever is easiest for my witch. For those of us with out-of-country Witchees, would you be happy with receiving a few packages from local to you merchants (say, through Etsy or equivalent)? Certainly! Would Witchees like something from IKEA? (Or any other not always accessible by everyone store?) I have no idea, honestly. Aside from the ubiquitous jokes about their furniture I don't know much about them. If/when you go to the mall, for which store(s) do you beeline? Back in the 80's I beelined for Judy's and Contempo Casuals. In the 90's it was Hot Topic. I don't think I know what's in a mall anymore. Aside from Lush, of course. Do you receive any subscription boxes (julep, lootcrate, ipsy, birchbox, etc.)? I did julep for awhile, but cancelled as I do think it's possible to have too much nail polish. Unless it's holographic or multichrome, that is. I've been eyeing the Black Box ( http://www.blackboxsubscriptions.com/ ), and if I ever can count on having an extra $20/month I may give it a try. Do you like tarts/candles/incense? If so, what type of scents? I only heard of tarts this year, and I still haven't seen one, nor do I have a burner. But I'd be open to trying them. Candles are nice, provided they are heavy enough the cats can't tip them over. I do like a good incense. Back in the day I used these ( http://shop.birchbayaromatics.com/Nightspell-16-Pack-Wands-S4-NIG.htm ) to perfume my hair after a shower. I also liked their Jasmine and Egyptian Musk. Is there anything you wish you could have picked up from the Dragon*Con exclusives? PEACH ALL THE THINGS! *ahem* I did get decants of Renoir's Still Life and Still Life with Silver Goblet, Walnuts, etc. Renoir in particular just kills me with how good it is. I wouldn't sneeze at an atmo, either. Is there a GC you've been dying to try but haven't got around to yet? Trading Post specific - Hair Loosened & Soiled Mid Orgies and Beautiful Implacable Tyrant. Any of the Walking District atmo's. With the number of imps I've acquired I've got a lot of Lab covered. (And I haven't actually gotten a chance to *try* most of those.) The questionnaire asked about gold & silver jewelry, but how do you feel about copper jewelry? Do you like colorful jewelry, or do you prefer to keep it neutral? I'm down with copper. Most of my jewelry is neutral, but I wouldn't mind branching out into color. We asked about decorating style, but are you interested in receiving decorations for your home? Are you interested in things that go on the wall or things that go on shelves? As they said at Alice's Tea Party: "No room!" Office supplies hound? Pens, pencils, journals, any preference, or favorites? I *love* office supplies. Click pencils, pens (fine tip gels - black preferred, unless it's a funky color like purple or forest green), journals. I also tangle on occasion so super fine (micro) point felt tips are welcome, too. Any color. Talk to me about socks! Is there anything, dear, dear Witchee, that I can get for you from Sock Dreams? Anything from another place? I do have a Sock Dreams wishlist, under Psuke I think. Post socks would be welcome, too. I live near a huuuuge candy store. What kind of candy do you like? Gummies? Caramel? Chocolate? Sour? Sugar-free? Old fashioned! Like the sticks in cellophane, gummies, ginormous lollipops. I also like gummi worms, runts, jelly bellies and chocolate covered dried fruit and espresso beans. 9/26/15 How do you feel about animal products? Not so much animal toys or food, but more like furs, paws, bones, etc. I am deeply divided on this. As a one-time pagan and shamanism student I respect the power of such items? Even if it's mostly sub/un/conscious? However, I'm not really down with taking a life strictly for adornment. Things like feathers, or antlers, that don't require killing an animal to harvest is okay. And found items (provided they are properly cleaned, of course!) are also fine. Are you interested in receiving any restaurant.com gift certificates for your area? No thank you. We just don't eat out that often. How do you feel about "toys" - stuffed animals and the like? If they'll fit on the bed, okay. 9/28/15 Did you see the eclipse last night? How do you feel about astrological events, like eclipses? Any interest in the Blood Moon Eclipse scent from BPAL? I missed the eclipse, alas. I was working. I do appreciate astrological events, and the Blood Moon eclipse blend sounds amazing! Witchee's, how tall are you? And perhaps, what's your arm span (from wrist to wrist)? I am 5'4" and 57" wrist to wrist, or so says my tape measure. How do you feel about the 4 elements? Or are you more of an Asian 5 elements person? Do you feel strongly about any of the elements, like a connection or a preference? I like the 4 elements. I don't know much about the Asian elements, although what I have read in connection with Chinese astrology sounds intriguing. I'm mostly a water baby, element-wise. How do you feel about bento boxes? Is it something you would use if you were to get one? I have a couple, buried in a cardboard box with most of my kitchen stuff. But I don't really pack lunches anymore What do we want from Paintbox Soapworks? Halcyon & Cypress lotions looks nice. If I were to make you some art, would you prefer a frame that hangs or one that sits? And what color/style would you prefer? Any art would sit in the garage along with my other beloved posters until I have someplace to hang them - sitting or hanging. How do you feel about gourmet marshmallows? Oooo, those look tasty! (but not the macarons) Are you a slatherer or a dabber? A decided dabber Villainess is putting out brand new stuff for the first time in a while (as opposed to bringing back former lines). Sooo.... who wants it? Oooo, the Honeyleaf Whipped and Saltleaf or Fireleaf Oil look interesting. 10/2-10/3 How does everyone feel about duct tape crafts? Any favorite patterns? I don't anything about duct tape crafts...except wallets, and those don't usually have enough pockets for me. But (as some one mentioned), if you've made it, I'll probably treasure it anyways. Are there any flowers you especially like? I guess I wonder why you ask? I love flowers generally, and I'd really love to plant some more jasmine (I accidentally killed the very young one we had)...but I don't particularly care for anything such as flower prints. Not so much for the pressed flowers, either...except something like preserved flower jewelry. I used to have a set of dried rosebud and crystal earrings and necklace I loved (the rosebuds eventually disintegrated). Would you be interested in any cozies or cases (yarn o fabric, not hard cases) for tech stuff (phone, laptop' etc) or for cups/mugs/bottles or anything else similar. I'd love a belt I could use for carrying my water bottle on long walks...aside from that I also use hard cases for gear because I drop my tech stuff *way too often*, and I drink my caffeinated beverages too fast for them too get cold. Would you like Halloween or Day of the Dead themed ornaments or a "bunting"? We usually do garlands for Christmas, but heck - why not? Are there witchees who would like book related gifts like a booklight, bookmark, bookseat or something for your reading gadget, like a cover or a light for example. I have a booklight, but can anyone really have too many bookmarks? And a bookseat or cookbook holder would be *awesome*. I make handmade journals, mini albums and similar items. Would my witchee be interested in something like that? Oooo, those are lovely! What songs/music/artists/CD's do you like to listen to around Halloween? I don't really change my listening habits nowadays...but we used to love listening to Vincent Price's recordings of ghost stories and poems. Are you interested in leg warmers at all? Not nearly cold enough where I am. Arm warmers, though... Is your Halloween style scary, cutesy, folksy, grotesque . . .? Mostly vintage cute. Well, retro, We've got decorations from the mid-70's on...mostly Hallmark, when Hallmark was da *bomb* for decorations (and little gift books and such). Tabletop haunted houses (or additions for such) would be most welcome. 10/6/15 Have you read The Martian? Or do you plan on watching the movie? I have not read The Martian...didn't even know it was a book! Am planning on seeing the movie - probably this week (10/10/2015) NaNoWriMo - Pertaining to that, how does everyone feel about such things? Will anyone be participating? How about NaNo swag, is there any you want? I will probably do NaNoWriMo again...and will fail miserably at reaching 50k words (again), but that's okay. Swag is awesome! Honey or beeswax products? Discuss. Probably not honey - we don't really do honey. Beeswax stuff though - sure! How do you feel about bumper stickers and car magnets? What do you like--cute, pretty, snarky, geeky/fandomy? I used to have an amazing bumper sticker collection on my old car - snarky philosophical and funny. I got comments and once I got a letter left on my windshield! My current car is totally nude. Do you have any phobia's that your Witch should be aware of? I dislike the (mental) texture of lotus pods overlaid on human skin. Also spit and vomit. Aside from that, not really. Trading Post Weenies are live! Anything calling to you? I was going to do a circle, but given how slow they are moving, decided to forego. I did get one of each Weenie Claw Polish, a the Neroli Dead Leaves HG and October atmo. I wouldn't mind a decant of the Honey Dead Leaves, On Halloween atmo or Brainstem Lollipop. 10/7/15 Speaking of nail things, it that time of year and I am doing my jamberry order, Would you want some Lovely Jamberry's for your nails? I've never done nail wraps, but sure, why not? Halloween/Christmas themed, especially 10/8/15 Do you like or want to try Marmite? I love Marmite! Some folks have already said they do not want used nail polish. If you haven't already chimed in about that... would you be interested in a bottle of BPTP claw polish (in this case, either Event Horizon or Baku) that has been used for one manicure? Used polish is fine and dandy. Those colors (especially Event Horizon) would be awesome. 10/9/15 Are there any DISCONTINUED (not LE) BPAL oils that you wish you had, or had a little more of? Not that I can think of Is there anything fairly basic that you're always running out of and need to buy more of? Ummmm...polish remover? Cotton makeup pads? Anything interest you from the recent Blooddrop update? I'm not familiar with them...I guess if you see something interesting, I'll try it! Pumpkin Musk and Motor City Pie look interesting? 10/10/15 How to you feel about foreign spices/flavorings? I think I mentioned this in a nother swap - but I'd really love some asian chilis (fermented and otherwise) - especially the kind used for making Kim Chi. The only korean chili I found was outrageously hot, and so my Kim Chi was, too. Good - but really hot. Also, the kind used for making bibimap sauce. And yuzu things! I think I might commit grievous bodily harm for a fresh yuzu (ummm, mostly because I'd love to see if I could sprout a seed). And/or citron (not the buddha's hand, I can find that - the outrageously large lemon shaped citron).

    Lavina

Received in a swap I like the fruit note. I like it a lot. There's also a bit of dirty note - probably from the neroli - that keeps it from being too sweet. I'm not entirely sold on the mint, though. I see how it's meant to add an electric note? And it kind of does...but there's also kind of a Tom's of Maine toothpaste vibe going on. I think I need to live with this a bit more and see how I decide the mint goes.

    De Sade

I was very considerately gifted an imp of this in a swap and was *very* excited to try it. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately all things considered) this did not work for me. It's leather, certainly, but very faint and with a bitter overlay. And it's exceedingly faint (subtle?). I can definitely see this working really well on a man, but unlike several other "manly scents" I've run into on BPAL it does nothing for me when I wear it. Perversion is a much better fit.

    13er q's

Not a gaming nerd, but I loved Penny Arcade (although I don't follow as much as I used to). Anything from the Rain Slicked Precipice of Darkness, or the noir-ish/horror Alice, or Lovecraft inspired games would be awesome sauce! If you have any Chaos Theory bottles on your wishlists, would you mind getting bottles on several days of this swap? I don't have any CT's on my wishlist, and I have CT Woods for this year...aside from that - sure, I'll gamble! (except for foodie scents, please) If you listed wearables - what sizes? I'm small/medium, not especially curvy. 34/29/38 with a 30 inseam Are your forearms skinny or bulky? Average What kind of items would you like to get that are not available in your country? All kinds! Especially edibles, but I love trying new things of all kinds How do you feel about yarn/wearables? Ok with wool as long as it's soft? And any particular things on your wish list as far as knit items go? (Headbands for fall/winter, cowls, fingerless mitts, mittens, socks, etc) Headbands, no - they won't stay on, And I like access to my fingers, plus it doesn't really get that cold here, so no mittens. But the rest? Bring it on! How do you feel about home baked cookies? Is there anything that should be left out (nuts, milk, eggs, gluten, etc)? I'm veggie, but no restrictions aside from that. Yes, to baked goods! How do you feel about recieving pens? If you like them, do you have a prefered stroke size (ie: do you prefer a thick or fine stroke)? Any prefered colors (assume the sky is the limit here)? Colors! Pens! Yes! I sometimes zentangle, so superfine point felt tips are appreciated. If you are a tea lover, are there any companies or vendors that you would particularly like to try (etsy, teavana, republic, stash, adagio, etc)? I don't really do tea. I like tea, but pretty much do coffee for my caffeine needs. Although some spicy herbals might be nice for Fall evenings. Dearest swappee, have you seen the launch of this year's Yankee Candle Boney Bunch line as well as other Halloween items from there? Are there any you'd particularly like to get? The adorbs tart warmer? The taper candle holder, perhaps? I just checked Yankee Candle, and all those are *adorable*. Especially the Steampumpkin, and Spellbound. What are your favorite tv shows, movies, topics of geekery, famous persons, specific objects (like tarot or harpsichords), memes, cultures etc. that you would like to receive items themed around? I also follow Welcome to Nightvale, and would be happy to get any of their swag. Also Gunnerkrigg Court or Girl genius. I don't really follow TV in any kind of fandom way. Movies - early Tim Burton, though, *huuuuuuuge fan.* This includes Nightmare Before Christmas. Anything after Sleepy Hollow, though, not so much. Lovecraft-inspired things are also objects of personal cult worship. add: Literary and knit/crochet themed stuff (especially with clever humor) are totally welcome. If you've said you like coffee: Do you prefer whole beans or ground? Do you like flavored coffees? I used to do whole bean, but my grinder broke so I need ground (neither terribly gritty or fine, as we use a temperamental espresso maker). I prefer very dark roast, and good single origin beans like Ethiopian or New Guinea. But flavored coffees work, too. Are you a soap only, shower gel only, or an either works person? If you like soap, are you particular about type? (all natural, no glycerine, created on a full moon using the blood of virgins, etc) Shower gels are good - so is soap, but not glycerins, please, they dissolve too fast. Is there an item that you would like but you never seem to buy for yourself as other things often take preference (darn those bills)? Nail polish and stitch markers. My etsy list has some of my favorites. If you listed you like books: what kind of books? What are your favorites? Do you also like the "English classics"? Are there any books or writers that you really don't like? I'm not a fan of romance novels, or anything by MC Beaton or Debbie Macomber. I do, though, love the Jane Austen Mysteries and the Beatrix Potter mysteries (I'm up to the Chaucer mystery on Austen and have the first 5(?) of the Potters). My English and Russian classics are well covered. What are your favorite musicians, favorite singers or bands? Anything or anyone you really don't like? The usual suspects of The Cure, Siousxsie, Depeche Mode, NIN, etc. I also love every project Maynard has been involved in. Placebo...oh, so many kinds of music. Except Rap, Hip Hop, House, etc. Or Country. Do you like Japanese/Korean snackies? If so do you prefer sweet/savory or both? That would be "yes". Actually, I would dearly love to get my mitts on some chili for making kim chee (the stuff I use now is hhhhhhoooooot. Good, but hot, and I think kim chi is supposed to be spicy, but not render your tongue unusable hot?) and fermented chili sauce for bibimap. Yes, I love making my own fermented stuff. Do you prefer light lotions or thick butters and do you like scented or unscented? Again the answer is "yes". I use both. Do you like small crossbody bags? Yes! I've been using a shoulder bag because it was the one with the best pockets, but I generally prefer cross-body. Do you have a birthday during the swap? Nope, I'm practically a Christmas baby. Pistachio's? I like most nuts, though I don't usually seek them out for munching. Do you collect anything? One might be tempted to say books or kitchen stuff, since that comprises about half the stuff I own. Okay, combined about 80%. Vegan cookbooks have been my latest thing - I've been eyeing Gina Henshaw's book, or Chocolate Covered Katie's. I wouldn't turn my nose up at Practically Raw, or Teff Love, either. Aide from that, though...no, not a collector. Too much to dust! In books, movies, art, etc., are there any common horror themes (demonic possession, clowns, serial killers, spooky/evil children, zombies, insect infestations, mutilation, etc.) that you really don't want to see? I'm not big on most modern horror, I think it overplayed. I like ghost stories and psychological horror. The BBC (tv) Woman in Black is a great example. Not the movie - the movie was ridiculous. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of a Thousand Corpses and the like...just no. Question: Wishbones, and designs with them ? Yay or nay? I have no idea what that is. No real wishbones, I'm sure the dog would eat it the moment my back was turned. Are there any general catalog/easily found/not crazy expensive BPAL bottles you'd love to get your hands on? Of the GCs I've tried I'm very fond of Jolly Roger, Black Forest and Smokestack and some of the honey scents. I also wouldn't mind Atmo Sprays such as Fainting Couch and Queen's Croquet Ground. Or testers of The District. Alcoholic beverages in your goodies-- yay or nay-- if yay, what kind? In goodies? Sure. Not picky, as long as it's not overwhelming and fits the food. CANDY CORN--- YAY OR NAY? No, please no. Hey, Pumpkin! How do you feel about lounge pants/pajama pants? Love lounge pants! Not so much pyjama bottoms, unless they're the kind that can masquerade as regular pants. Do you have long, medium, or short hair? What kids of hair accessories do you like to use? Long...really long. And slick. I do ponytail holders almost exclusively as buns and braids are the only hairstyles that stick. I used to have fancy bun holders, but the sticks that hold them in place keep breaking. Combs just fall right out. OTOH, I will occasionally wear tiny butterfly clips when I'm trying to be fancy. If you have an Etsy favorites list, are all of the things on the list things you'd be happy to get, or are some of them gift ideas for other people, or stuff that you've already bought and loved but don't need more of, or for any reason not something you'd want to get in this swap? My etsy wishlist/favorites is all for me...and its all stuff I haven't yet bought. Do you own a wax/oil burner? (If no, would you like one?) I don't...and sure. An oil burner would be especially welcome. Incense, y/n? Yes. If you said that you are interested in books (or DVDs or any relatively big standalone sort of item), would you be okay with having multiples of such items spread over a couple of days, or would you prefer 13 distinct themish packages? Either is fine. How into the day themeing mentioned in the first post are you? All themed? A few maybe if they are fun? Not at all? Whatever my little pumpkin wants to do is fine. Speaking of DVDs - are you interested in receiving movies and if so, what sort? I'm actually kind of picky on movies, and we have *lots* of them here already. OTOH, a new copy of 30's to 70's horror might not be amiss (I think we've about worn out our tapes). Back to the books - if you said you would like books, would you prefer I send you, say, my favorite Halloween anthology or something else spooky/scary, or something off your wishlist/want-to-read on goodreads? Yes please!. Process question: Do you want to know who is sending to you right away, or would you prefer to be surprised on the last day, to the extent possible? Likewise, do you have a preference for specifically numbered packages or for reach in and grab according to your fancy? Whatever my witch wants Would you be interested in solid perfume? What about lip balm? Depends on the perfume, but otherwise, sure. And lip balm is good. There was a lot of mention of not wearing costumes/not being allowed to at workplaces. Would you be interested in goth style or Halloween-themed(pumpkins, ghosts, etc.) normal clothes to wear instead, and what would be suitable? Absolutely! Day of the dead/ Dia de los Muertos stuff? Sure Does anything from this shop catch your eye? https://www.etsy.com/shop/DebaucherousBathBody I lrecently learned I love whipped soap, and some of their lotions look interesting (dollface bettie, red queen's rage, funhouse, beware the kraken) Dear Pumpkin: Do you have aversions to any animals or insects? Not really. Used to hate slugs, but they don't really bother me anymore. How do you feel about canned foods like jams and things along those liNES? Sure! How do you feel about stickers (and stationery in general)? Stationary is good. Don't really use stickers, though. How do we feel about fibercrafting (knit, crochet, etc.)? wearables? crafted critters? If you would like a scarf or something similar, would you like it to be themed, like fall colors, or have a skull or other halloweenie motif/border? Covered hats, I think in my ?aire, crafted critters are awesome! I never wear scarves. Cowls, yes, and themed is fine. What makes you feel pampered? a long bath and having my toes painted after! We've covered what critters you don't like, but what about the critters that you DO like? What are your favorite animals/creatures, real or imagined? foxes, owls, ravens, dogs, octopuses, the list is fairly long as there aren’t many animals I do not like, real or imagined!. Canadian stuff: Sure Paintbox Soapworks: Not familiar with them, but why not? Is there is any TAZO tea you have a hankering for? Zen, Awake, Passion, China Green Tips, Vanilla Roibois, Calm, Refresh? (tea bags in a tin? How about any Teavana tea? (loose tea) Not a big tea drinker, but seasonal herbals might be nice. How about Starbucks coffee beans? If so, ground (and for what kind of filter) or whole bean? How about Starbucks coffee via (italian, columbia, anniversary, vanilla latte?) or Iced coffee via (caramel or regular?) Fruit flavored via (berry hisbiscus, cool lime, strawberry lemonade?) Pumpkin Spice Latte ? The fruit flavored vias are good. Anything else from Starbucks/Teavana? Syrups, honey, whatever? No Starbucks, please. Starbucks K-cups or Verismo pods? Coffee/tea travel mugs or ceramic home mugs? Seasonally decorated, maybe - otherwise we're good on mugs. Coffee maker (french press) or tea steeper? I'm set on those, thanks. How would you feel about a gently-used card game? For example, something I may have purchased several years ago and maybe played with my daughter *twice* before she became a moody teenager, and too cool for card and/or board games? Alas, I have no one to play with Name at least one thing that you really wouldn't like to receive in your package. dead animals or real body parts? Books by Debbie Macomber(sp?) or MC Beaton? I have eyeshadow pigments which have been decanted from--as in the powder tapped out into another container, never used directly. (I don't use very much makeup, though I love it, so I keep shadow pigments clean so I can safely share.) Would a jar of pigment handled thus bother you or are you ok with cosmetic-type stuff that has not been directly touched? No worries Does anyone especially like or want anything from cost plus/world market? They have all kinds of awesome stuff! Although I miss the days before they became the ethnic Bed, Bath & Beyond. Does anyone need any small kitchen items or utensils? No. Dearest Pumpkin- do you have a preference of edible/drinkable vs. non edible items in your package? Would you prefer your package heavier on one side or the other? I like edibles, but not necessarily a whole box of them. Any guilty pleasures? TV show you're embarassed to admit you like? Musical group/preference that seems out-of-place for you? Sleepy Hollow, Once Upon a Time first season. Kimberly Trip for music. Are there any scents from the Lilith update you would like ? Any other you are looking for ? Lilith updates are too foodie/candy/pastry for me. Do you like Hello Kitty? I am amused by the Hello Satan spin off, but not overly fond of Hello Kitty Would you be interested in gently used BPAL tees going back several years and/or 80s/90s goth-industrial-generally morbid tees all in crew neck/Men's style, size M - L, all black or dark gray? I would love them! I'm getting into t-shirt refashioning, so size is not an issue. How do you feel about superheroes? I am totally meh about them How do you feel about Star Wars, especially extension universe comics? Again, 'meh' How extensively have you sampled the Lab's Weenie wares? Any past releases you are dying to get your hands on? Years you missed? Last year was my first Weenie Year. Loved White Witch and Samhain. I also have some Pumpkin Patches decants from previous years that have been gifted/frimped. Pumpkin II of 2006 I know I love, and also Marshmallow Pumpkin Fluff Bath Oil (have an imp). Most of that is on my wishlist - but I'd love to get my hands on more of the Lovecraftian Weenies. I have a decant of HiMUL, but I gather there were others and I'd love to try them!

    Perversion Atmosphere Spray

This is really lovely, and more subtle than I was expecting. The leather in this reminds me alot of the leather in Yule Buddies, a very warm, well aged leather. With the tobacco notes like high end cigars and the Chardonnay this is the most welcoming Duungeon you've ever been in. You're sure to have the most memorable evening. I don't really smell the rum or tonka as such...for me I think they add the subtle sweetness that underlays this scent.

    Unseelie Claw Polish

SHIMMER Ruled by the Queen of Air and Darkness, the Court sows chaos wherever it rides. Dangerously seductive; the essence of crushed stars. I bought this thinking it was more of a deep purple with a greenish tint, which it how it looked to me on the website. When it arrived, it was, in fact, a dark silver. How very Unseelie, to throw such a Glamour on me. This is very shiny - almost, but not quite reflective, so I'm guessing it was picking up the colors of whatever was close by on the desk. The description says it is a shimmer, but I would say it borders on metallic/foil. Good formula, went on easily with no dragging or streaking, and was opaque in two coats, but I did three for a deeper color.

    The Black Temple Burlesque Troupe

Powder...all powder. It seems that cocoa and musk, or cocoa and amber do not play well together with my skinistry - which is sad because some of my favorite scents have these elements, just not together.
  10. Diana Rect

    Fairy Thorn

Decant bottle In the bottle: sweet Wet on skin: I get candy first. Like violet or rose pastille candies, then the tuberose starts coming in strong. Dry down: this gets much more floral as it dries and the other notes start coming in to play. This is a very pretty Spring floral scent. A bit on the sweet side to be a personal favorite, but I definitely like it and shall treasure my decant.

    Miskatonic University

I had hopes for this - especially the dusty tomes and oakwookwood halls (I love a good library smell), but I get candy. On good days it's pure butterscotch, and other days it's a mix of cheap chocolate, commercial marzipan and red vines. If I were more of a foodie-scent girl the butterscotch days would be great, but alas, I am not.

    Dolce Stil Nuovo

This was a heartbreaker for me. It smelled almost exactly like a loose makeup powder I used to wear back in the early 90's. It started that way and it ended that way. It wasn't unpleasant, as such, but wasn't what I was hoping for, and it was sort of overwhelming. Oh, well - more for everyone for whom it shines! And I have learned to stay away from golden amber and musk notes paired together, so learning experience?
  13. Diana Rect

    Haunted Bonbon

I think golden amber must be a death note for me, or maybe amber with musk is a death combo. This (and Dolce Stil Nuovo, which I had such hopes for) is pure powder on me, the scent of loose makeup powder and nothing else.
  14. Diana Rect

    Red Lantern

Caramel. Butterscotch. Coconut macaroons. I was hoping the tobacco and Asian spice would come through more, but no. This is too much of a foody/candy scent for a perfume for me, but I think it would be totally fun for a beach bag spray!
  15. Diana Rect

    Smut

Oh, *my*. This is precisely what I hoped it would be. The musk and sugar and boozy notes are playing perfectly with each other. The musk grounds the sugar and the sugar brightens the musk and the boozy notes (more background on me) keeps it all interesting, and on the fun side of "filthy". I think this has made my top ten.
  16. Diana Rect

Rose Petals and Champa Hair Gloss

First out of the bottle this smells like sugared rose petals to me. The resins don't come out to play until it's dried down a little. I really like this one - it's not overwhelmingly sweet, and the resins play really well with the rose scent.
  17. Diana Rect

    Rose-Boughs and Rose-Roots Hair Gloss

First sprayed from the bottle - ROSES. Roses and roses and roses. It's more of an antique-rose, and after a moment it reminds me a lot of the Weenie Atmo Red Roses and Old Bones. This would be fantastic for the lovers of old fashioned rose scents.
  18. Diana Rect

Whiskey, Candlesmoke, and Musk Atmosphere Spray

This stuff was *strong*. When I first sprayed it my head snapped back. But I had a decant bottle that I worried was leaking, and after changing bottles I put the emptied one in my bathroom to just diffuse into the air. It worked perfectly, and the smell lasted for weeks, and I loved it. I think this scent would work awesome with a wick diffuser, and would smell for *months*.
  19. Diana Rect

    Needle in a Haystack

Perfumed buttered movie theater popcorn is what this smelled like at first - not best pleased. On drydown it became more floral, but as it's similar to other BPAL florals I already have, I'll be passing this on to another.
  20. Diana Rect

Absent Of Thee I Languish Still

I got this as a frimp in a my Luper order, and I am so sad to discover it's an unreleased! It reminds me of top shelf piña colada, with something sharp and citrus-y underneath. Not lemon or orange, more like Yuzu. I really like it and shall be savoring my imp.
  21. Diana Rect

    Chokecherry Honey

A BPAL frimp In the bottle: This smells like cherry cordial, which is almost Cherry Nyquil, but far more pleasant. Wet: Candy, but with an edge, and the warm golden honey that I have come to love. Dry: Cherries and honey, honey and cherries. There is that sharp note that keeps this from being too candy-sweet and makes this a wearable scent for me. In fact, it makes me smile whenever the scent wafts past my nose.
  22. Diana Rect

    Nyarlathotep

In the bottle: warm, sharp and woodsy. Wet on skin: something spicy. Not cinnamon. Clove maybe? Or one of the spicier woods/resins, and a hint of bergamot playing in the back. Drydown: this becomes pretty much a spicy resin on me, and I'm quite happy with that.
  23. Diana Rect

    Halôa

I love this scent, I think it's become one of my favorites. On me it's more like a rich fruity wine, not green at all, with the resins in the back keeping it from becoming overly sweet. If this were a bath oil, it would be a bath oil that made me think of the rose petal bath scene in "American Beauty", but without the pederasty. Not because I smell roses, that's just the atmosphere it evokes for me..
  24. Diana Rect

    Yule Buddies

I love this scent. It's an odd one, though. It smells like nothing much in the bottle to my nose. Something sharp - hay, maybe? And some other notes I can't really identify, all very disparate. But it warms up so nicely, everything coming together. And it morphs as it wears. I reminds me of what I think a Victorian Gentleman's Parlor might smell like, with highback leather chairs and very high quality pipe tobacco. Then the gingerbread/fruitcake wafts in, but just enough to provide atmosphere, not enough to take this anywhere near the "food-y" category. If it smelled like this in the bottle I'd say it would make an amazing atmo spray. As it is, I think this probably the most classically masculine BPAL scent I've come across (granted, my experience is limited), and I'd be tempted to glue my nose to the neck of nearly any man wearing it. That said, I do like it on myself, too. I keep sniffing my wrists, enjoying the cozy and complicated smell.
  25. Diana Rect

Lips of Flame and Heart of Stone

Interesting, wet in the bottle I smell cherries - like cherry cordial. Wet on the skin I get the fruit note, with a bit of powdery floral, and then after dry down I smell chocolate-y caramel, the fruit note is all gone, and the patchouli/musk/tobacco keep this from being an overly foodie scent. I'm very happy with it.
