    Wulric, the Wolfman (2006)

In the bottle, this smells nice. Mild and sort of sweet but I can't pick out anything. I don't recognize any of the notes and nothing stands out. Unfortunately, on me, this turns to the scent of spoiled dog food. It's only the second BPAL scent I've had to wash off me soon after putting it on because I found it so unpleasant. I'm really disappointed.

    Sugar Skull

IN THE BOTTLE: I can smell sugar with some sort of chemical note that's kind of unpleasant but I decide to try this on anyway. INITIALLY ON SKIN: Definitely a nice sugar smell to this but I still smell that chemical undertone. ON DRYDOWN: The longer I wear this, the better it smells! As it warms up on my skin, the chemical scent goes away entirely and this smells like sugar cookies baking in the oven! Definitely excellent!

    Juke Joint

In the Imp: Smells kind of generically perfumey but that could be just because I have it in a box with lots of other imps and some scents are wafting from their vials more than others. On my skin: Oh. My. God. This is like a scent orgasm! Sweet and sugary with maybe some clove scent and something like cinnamon, with a lot of wafty mint smell. I love this! Overall impression: This is my favorite BPAL scent so far! I must have a bottle of this! It's only been on a couple minutes but it's got major throw and I pretty much want to chew on my wrists right now. Oooooooh yeah, baby!

    All Souls

This is an imp sized decant from shadesong. Thanks, 'song! In the imp: Again, dunno. Getting groups of imps all at once (I got a few others along with this) ruins their in-bottle scents individually for me. On my skin wet and dry: Definitely some nice warm incense with a great deal of sweetness. It's not overwhelmingly sweet or overwhelmingly incense smelling. I like it and will probably keep it but I doubt I'll ever need a whole bottle of it.

    Malice

I bought this imp from <lj user="shadesong">. Thanks, 'song! In the bottle: Dunno. Every time I get a group of imps, as soon as I touch them, all I can smell is a general perfumey scent. On me wet and dry: Eh... I expected so much more from this. It smells nice, mind you, but it just doesn't excite me. It basically smells like cream soda to me. I'm either going to give this as a gift or trade it for something else I want from BPAL.

    Miskatonic University

In the Imp: This smells very, very sweet. It's reminiscent of butterscotch but not quite the same thing. For Christmas when I was a kid I got some "Irish coffee" hot chocolate (no, there was no alcohol in it) from someone and I think this smells a lot like that. On my skin: Still very much the sweet coffee smell but not quite as sweet as in the imp. Later On: Still lots of coffee smell but now if I put my wrist right up to my nose I think I can smell a little bit of a wood scent. It also has pretty good throw on me. My aunt smelled this on me and said it smelled like pie or something cooking in the kitchen. It's one of the scents I'm getting her for Christmas so I had to bluff and obfuscate about what it was when she asked me. Overall impressions: This is great stuff! I definitely want a bottle of it. I wish I could smell more of the wood and the dusty, old books. Sometimes if I wear something enough time, though, I'll start to be able to smell more of its notes, so I'm hopeful. Even if I don't smell more of the individual notes more strongly, I still love this.

    Jazz Funeral

I'm not sure if I know what bay rum smells like. I imagine rum smelling like butterscotch hard candies but maybe I'm way off with that. For me, Jazz Funeral smells "dark green." It smells like a very clean and life-filled swamp, with weeping willows and lots of moss around it. Every time I wear it I imagine hearing a swamp at night when a rainstorm is dying down. Crickets chirping, some mosquitoes buzzing, frogs croaking, some rain still drizzling into the pond. It's one of my favorite scents from BPAL so far. Unfortunately on dry down almost every aspect of the original notes in this goes away for me and all I smell is like a light and sweet powder. It's pleasant but I would prefer to keep the original scents. This also has next to no throw on me unless I keep reapplying it very liberally.

    Port-Au-Prince

Hi there. Brand new to the forum and pretty new to BPAL (since late August.) In the imp and wet on my skin: This smells just like maraschino cherries to me. That's really the only scent I get from it. After a little while of being on my skin, if I smell it up close I smell something that reminds me of Christmas trees and also maybe a little bit of alcohol smell. I like this a lot and have been wearing it on a regular basis but it doesn't make me think of Port au Prince at all. More like Christmas time in New England or something. I wish I could smell the other notes in it. Oh well, it's still great stuff.
