    Sudha Segara

It's so sad. Loved the concept when it was introduced, was thrilled to have a freebie of it in my last order, loved all the ingredients separately, and... bug spray. the really horrible chemically type, like OFF or something, that makes me ill. I've tried it three or four times now and it's the same thing each time. *cry* Why must I be a freak? Maybe I will let it 'mellow' for a few months and try again...

    Temperature and BPAL

out of my head! I was just thinking this doing dishes - if this coming winter is anything like last one, we had 20 days or so where it never got above 0 F. I'm not going out of town, but I wonder if i should be worried about oils sitting in the mailbox for even a couple hours in that kind of weather. meep! but then again, that was in January/February, and the two orders I have out will likely be here by christmas or a little after - and then I may just have to hold off ordering till late February or something. yeah, that'll happen. *grin*

    Tombstone

Ordered this for the boy, but he’s really not a scent person at all. I wore it yesterday on a day off running errands with a friend – I wanted to feel comfortable and happy but not fancy or prettied-up, and it was perfect. The root-beeriness of the sassafras wasn’t overwhelming, happily, though the woods are a little less present than I wanted them to be and the vanilla doesn’t register at all. I ended up adding a tiny amount of Hamadryad to increase the woods and add a bit of spice – yum. Very yum. Also quite long-lasting – I touched it up yesterday around 5 pm and could still smell it in my hair about 24 hours later. Not an everyday-scent, but this will be another good winter scent. I would still love to see what this does on the boy. Would it be really naughty to apply oils to him in his sleep?

    Hamadryad

Very strong cinnamon at first, but a scent which reminds me that cinnamon is actually a tree bark – not a pumpkin-pie sort of spice at all. The other woods (cedar? no sandalwood, I think, which makes me so happy) come out later but are still warmed by the spice – the flowers never arrive. This is the second of the ‘nymph’ scents that is a great work-scent for me. Lasts well in my hair – completely enjoyable, and it’s very possible this will be my second 5ml bottle.

    O

This is sexy, after all – I’ll admit to doubting it would really be this good. This is warm and golden, and another scent that vastly benefits from body heat. The combination of honey and amber really attaches itself to my skin – it’s not uncommon for me to still smell like O up to 24 hours after applying (even after strenuous activity). Appropriately, it also goes well with sweat without becoming icky. Will be another good scent in winter, I think.

    Queen of Sheba

When wet, all I can think is green spikes, as someone (Andrabell?) said earlier. If I put it in my hair, it stays at that harsh green-ness – this really needs body heat to bloom. As it warms up and dries out, all these uncommon spices come out – not the usual apple pie spices at all, which makes sense, and I do smell a little honey but it’s under the spices, and all together it is a very dry scent. Thankfully it’s not powdery though, and I really like it as soon as it gets over the spikes. This is another scent where I can't smell the almonds at all...I'd say my nose is broken but I can smell them in Dana! The boy says he likes this because it reminds him of Santa Fe, due to the dryness and the smell of incense in the dorms (to cover up other green smells!)

    Persephone

I love Persephone for not being a powdery dry rose – while I probably wouldn’t have been able to identify pomegranate juice as such without the description, it does wonderful things to the very red rose scent. Surprisingly long-lasting for a rose scent on me, this stays pretty consistent from bottle through wearing – wet, fresh, luscious rose.

    The Hesperides

This is my favourite scent so far to wear to work – it’s not overtly sexy or too sweet, not booze-y or incenselike – it’s simply clean apple goodness. It makes me feel friendly and calm and able to deal with customers (mostly – it’s not a miracle drug!). This was the first oil I tried when I got my order, and I immediately went outside and took a deep breath of oak woods in July, and this really perfectly captures that with the lovely yellow-apple addition. This is also a scent I love to wear in my hair; the scent stays longer and drifts a little more.

    Eclipse

When wet and for about 20-30 minutes after, this is purple. Heliotrope swarms around in stompy purple boots, and then someone flicks on the frankincense switch and all is lovely warm incense and a bit of almond. My skin eats almond-scent; in every almond-containing Lab oil I’ve tried, it becomes a very minor note, if at all. Very sad, but Eclipse is lovely anyway, and lasted hours on me. Eventually a little spice comes out to warm it up even more, and I never really get the vanilla but it’s probably there adding a little sweetness. I have a feeling I will be wearing this more in the colder months coming up.

    Honey

The longest-lasting oil I’ve tried so far – this is usually still around 24 hours after application, although mellower and a little muskier/mustier. It’s sweet, of course, and warm-gold smelling, but as shriekingviolet said above, complex enough to wear by itself – to me, this is like honey made from very strong-scented flowers, so a little very mixed floral is there too. This would probably be a bigger-bottle if it weren’t for the fact that it lasts so well even in small quantities. (side-note – I’ve been eating Toblerone honey-nougat chocolates for probably 20 years; only after smelling this Honey could I really identify the honey-taste in with the chocolate and almond. Lovely side effect!)

    Hellcat

(my first review) in the vial: sweet, honey, a tiny bit of real maple (although that may be the butter making me think syrup!) wet: I can definitely smell the rum, and while I'm sad to say I've never had mead, this makes me think I should. it dries almost immediately into a honeyed loveliness that stays on me for hours, especially in my hair. the butter is just mellow and creamy and the alcohol scent drops down into a very minor note, along with the nuts - they never really get strong (though that may just be my skin - I don't get 'almond!' from Queen of Sheba or Eclipse either.) I've just ordered this as my first 5ml; it's what I put on when I get home from work most days, and makes me feel comforted and relaxed. even though the rum isn't prominent, I don't think I will wear it to work (unless I change jobs!) although I might have worn this back when I served afternoon tea. my cat loves this and licks it off my wrists, the little lush.
