    Aphrodite v4

I fail at notes, but I do know that I love this. It smells like a commercial perfume that I had years ago, but I can't remember what it is! I smell it and can remember WHERE I wore the commercial perfume, I just can't remember what it is. It's definitely a floral, but like I said, I fail at notes. It's lovely though, and I'm glad that I was able to get an extra bottle.

    Aphrodite v3

I got to sniff this at Jo's today. I didn't test it though, because the smell in the bottle didn't appeal to me. I agree though, that it's a floral of some sort. I'm just not a floral sort of person.

    Halloween Questions Part 2

What do you think of Irrelevant Disturbing and Surreal Crawdad Dream? Love it? Hate it? Kicking yourself for not getting a bottle? I didn't get a bottle, though I wanted to. It sounded pretty great, I was just beyond broke at that point. How do you feel about trinkets? You know - tiny toys or doodads that serve no purpose than to be cute, take up space and make us smile. Love them or waste of money? They're fun, as long as I don't have too many. How many is too many? Yeah, I don't know either. Can melty things be shipped to you, or will they be in puddles by the time you open the package? It's slowly cooling off. Right now, it may end up as a puddle though. Who likes pirates? Me! Me! What are your feelings about Dia De Los Muertos? I have none? What do you think about the Nightmare Before Christmas? LOVE. Major Burton "fangirl" here, though I've never actually fangirled at anyone. I do love me some Burton though. If candy is sent, would you prefer small amounts to a Halloween sized bag? Either way, it'll get eaten so it doesn't matter. Do you like floral bath soaps, shower gels, etc? If so, what florals work on you and what don't? I don't generally like florals. They give me a headache after too long. There are a few exceptions though. I've got some cherry blossom things that are lovely. I can also stand them if there's something with them to kill the overpowering flower some. werewolf.gif ***9/8*** How do y'all feel about honey and maple? And different flavored honey, not just the standard kind? Honey's great. I don't know about maple. I used to be able to get these little straws of honey that came in different flavors. There was strawberry and blueberry and...gods, I don't remember. There were a ton though! I can't find them anymore and it makes me a bit sad because I loved them. What is your favorite thing to do on a cool fall day? Sleep with the window opened. Sit outside and read. ghost.gif***9/7*** If you have pets, is there a SPECIFIC toy they like to play with; brand and size? Is there a treat/cookie they eat? What brand and size? I don't think they care. The cats are freaks though and don't appear to be too find of catnip. Go figure! What's your ringtone? "Call Me" by Shinedown. I've got a ton of ringback tones though. I feel bad for the people that have to call me. Just to throw a silly question out there...Munsters or Addams Family, y'all? Addams Family What think you about receiving tea accessories and/or miscellany (like mugs, cups, saucers, strainers/filters, honey, natural sweeteners [like stevia])? I'm not a tea fan, so it would be lost on me. How do you feel about copies of music or dvd's that your witch might have that you might enjoy? Not just mixes, but whole copies? Mixes are okay. Whole copies are not okay with me though. I have too many friends in the music business and I would rather support them. If my witch thinks I'd like something, putting it on a mix would be okay though. I tend to be horribly picky with my music too, so a mix is probably the best way to go. If I like it, I'll probably go out and pick it up. Say, witches, I have a question about birthdays. do you expect/rely on other people to plans birthday outings and activities? Ha. No. No one remembers my birthday. Tarts? Yes/no? I'd love to try them but I have no burner and never remember to look for one. I'm wondering if my witchee would like to try these types of things (like the caramel with sea salts or chocolates with chilis/bacon/salt etc.)? No bacon please. As long as it's not TOO strange, I'll probably try it. werewolf2.gif ***9/6*** What's your favorite animal? Hedgehogs, pigs, frogs, penguins, rats...I really like most animals though. What one (or two, if you really must) BPAL bottles are you most longing for? Dead Man's Hand, definitely. Even if it's empty. I desire a place to house the decants that I have. I don't know about the other. Maybe Beaver Moon '05. I just got a sniffie of it and it's pretty great. If you could have dinner/drinks/coffee with any 3 living people that are not your family/friends already, who would they be-? Marilyn Manson because I firmly believe that he really is an extemely intelligent man. Charles Manson for much the same reason. skull.gif***9/5*** If you could bring back any TV show from cancellation what would it be? I don't know. I wonder if my witchee would like a blanket type thing. Would you? Sure. I live with a blanket stealing boyfriend! What's your favorite "I know it's bad for me but I can't help myself" treat? Demo's. Mmm. Gyro. It's the only meat that I'll eat. I know. I'm weak. Very important question: Are you planning on buying anything off your BPAL and/or other wishlists during the round? I plan on working on my Halloween stuff. I've bought a few, but there are many more. I'll definitely say something when I get ready to do that though. Do you wear a watch? If so, what kind/style? Cheap plastic digital thing that I got at Wal Mart. It does what I want it to. How do you feel about having a donation made in your name to something? If you like that idea, what types of organizations/groups would you want the donation to go to? That's cool. I'd have to think on the groups though. Definitely literacy. Animal organizations. ghost.gif ***9/4*** Do you have a case for your mp3 player/digital camera? If you would want one, what size is your digital device? I've got one that I don't use. Does the weather change where you are, as in, does it get cold in the winter? Anyone need homegrown scarves, hats, mittens, etc? It cools off but doesn't get THAT cold. Who are your forum buddies? People you know well enough online or IRL to help your Witch pick out stuff for you? RockGeisha. Also, my boyfriend can be emailed at diamonddustviil@aol.com if you need more help.

    Halloween SW Q&A

How do you scent yourself? Do you layer soaps, moisturizers, etc. or do you go straight to slathering your bod with BPAL? I like for things to match. I have a bunch of different soaps/body washes because of this. If I shower in the morning, it has to match. If I shower at night, I just grab the scent that I want to wear for the day. Do you/how do you scent your world? Candles, incense, diffusers, potpourri? None of the above? Candles. I have some oil burners but I rarely use them...mostly because I forget. I've thought about tarts, but I don't have a tart warmer and always forget to look for one. How do people feel about receiving baked goods/kits to make said goods? Or other cooking items? Would you enjoy oil or vinegar flavored with herbs grown at home? Strange and exotic spices with recipes to try? Cookies made with carnation petals? I'm not sure. I love the idea. I'm a bit picky about what I eat but I live with a human goat. He'll eat ANYTHING. And hey, if it's pumpkin, I'm in! What are your pet's names, and what are they named for? Answered in the thread. Do you have phobias? Latex balloons and wax people. And a hate for craft sticks. I actually answered this one in the thread. Band-aids: do you like the fun and funky ones? My Band-Aids are boring because I injure myself a lot. I love the fun ones, I just don't buy them because I can't get them in HUGE boxes. How many of mah fellow witchies play video games? Platform? Do you like used games? We have everything but a PS3 and we use them all. I buy most of my games used. Have any of you ever received a book from a Witchy and loved it so much you ended up buying a copy for a later Witchee? I did it with a game but not a book. What kinds of eye shadows do we all like? Either dark or bizarre colors. Do you like lip balm? If so, do you like tinted, glossy, sparkly, pearly or just plain lip balm? YES! I'm not a sparkly type of person though. Plain is good. Bonus points if if makes me want to eat it. Do you knit/crochet? Do you need any supplies? I do both (poorly) and have a massive yarn addiction. I'm not allowed to buy more but that doesn't stop me from looking. Needles/hooks would be cool...and if there was an OCD approved method of storing them so that I could tell which was which, that would be even more amazing! Who here has an etsy shop? I don't yet. I really should though. My lazy just gets the best of me. Are you active on any other boards/forums? If so please specify where and your username there. I don't know that I want to be tracked down on there. I'm not always nice because of the nature of the board and the people that I have to deal with. If you had one minute of fame, what would you do/say in the spotlight? "The Reverend" says that the only thing required to be famous is that a lot of people know your name. A lot of people know mine. ("The Reverend" is the nickname that I gave the singer of a band. Who would have guessed that it would stick?) Where are a few of your favorite places? Backstage at a rock show. Out of curiosity, all the fall babies who are celebrating their birthdays during the round - who are you, and when is your bday? November 6. The day after the round ends. Are you a soap addict? Anything you like to avoid in soaps (goat's milk, lye, dyes, etc...) or any particular scents you like or brands you want to try? Soap addict? I know nothing of this. Crossword puzzles? Other pencil puzzles? Sudoku! Favorite artist? H.R. Giger Halloween. Do you like it kooky or creepy? Creepy! I'm not opposed to cute things though. Reserved or Raunchy? Both. It depends on the people that I'm around and how comfortable I am with them. Earth, Wind, Fire or Water? Heart! Oh. We're not talking about Captain Planet? I didn't much like that show anyway! Fire and Water. Tea or Coffee in the morning? Sobe Green Tea Fruity snacks or chocolate? I love chocolate, but I also love dried fruit snacks. Would you accept art? Sure! Antiques or Brand New? Either one. What keywords do you use when searching for items for yourself on Etsy? Whatever pops into my head. I've done Lovecraft, Cthulhu, maille, bats... Bugs? Do you like 'em or not? I have no problem with them. i haz no imp storage. do you? I made my own box. What incense scents do you prefer? I'm not really a huge incense fan. I've found some that were amazing, but it has to be great for me to use it. If my witch were able to find awesome incense though, great! Just no patchouli please? Bats, cats, skeletons, monsters, vampires, witches or what other ghoulies do you prefer? BATS! I love bats. Really. I'd have one for a pet if I could. Do you like horror flicks?Love 'em! I find most of them to be hilarious though. Who here prefers stylus and ink to ballpoint? Anyone invested time and effort into calligraphy or proper Victorian writing? I'm a brat and prefer to only use fountain pens. I've got 2 with me right now! That link for the writing set that was posted? Awesome. What about stationery? Need some? What styles do you like? I don't really write letters, so stationery would be wasted here, unfortunately. What is one item that you've wanted forever, could have afforded, but have never gotten and why (haven't you gotten it!)? I'm amazing at talking myself out of things. I won't spend the money on myself but I'll spend it on others without a problem. I can't think of one thing right now, but I'm sure there are plenty. Honey Moon

I was hoping for the honey that everyone raves about. Instead I got floral. No trace of honey to be found. Just floral. In the bottle, on the skin, dry. All just floral.
  6. Melle Mel

    Shill

Buttery popcorn in the bottle. Buttery popcorn wet. Buttery popcorn dry. I really like it but I don't know that I'll wear it often. I just don't think I ever really have a reason to smell like popcorn. Besides, it makes me hungry!

    Midway

Midway smells exactly like walking through a carnival. This is definitely one of my favorite scents and I'm glad that I have an extra bottle of it! It's cotton candy, funnel cake love.
  8. Melle Mel

    Torture King

Always late to the party, but I just got this. It's very Lemon Pledge in the bottle and wet. I had to try it though and I'm glad that I did. Once it's on and dry it turns into this awesome scent. The first day that I tested it I forgot what it was that I had put on. I spent the rest of the night sniffing and trying to figure out what it was! It turns into a sweet-leathery scent that's really lovely. I'm glad that I was able to get a bottle, even if it was late!

    Frederic

Agree! On the dog part, at least. Frederic smells the way that my dogs did when they came home from the groomer's. Or the groomer's shop itself. Frederic is not love.

    Pronouncing "BPAL" and scent names!

Sorry, but I have to bring up the Lovecraft-ness again. I wanted to see how many different ways things were pronounced. A note on Cthulhu though, since I was discussing it with a friend. I had to share because it was way too much to type to not share with everyone. Hehe This is from the notes in "The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories": On the pronunciation of Cthulhu Lovecraft has left several accounts, all slightly differing; his associates have also supplied contradictory testimonies. The most definitive statement by Lovecraft occurs in a letter of 1934: "...the word is supposed to represent a fumbling human attempt to catch the phonetics of an absolutely non-human word. The name of the hellish entity was invented by beings whose vocal organs were not like man's, hence it has no relation to the human speech equipment. The syllables were determined by a physiological equipment wholly unlike ours, hence could never be uttered perfectly by human throats...The actual sound--as nearly as human organs could imitate it or human letters record it-- maybe taken as something like Khlul-hloo, with the first syllable pronounced gutturally and very thickly. The u is about like that in full; and the first syllable is not unlike klul in sound, hence the h represents the guttural thickness." Apparently R'lyeh was originally called L'yeh, too. /nerd rambling

    Herbert West

I got this as a frimp, and apparently the lab knows what I want more than I do! It reminds me of F5, which I LOVE, but when it dries it's different. I get that rubbery smell that someone had mentioned. It's almost like a pencil eraser. I do love this scent though and I'm pretty sure that I need a bottle! Hm. I wonder what it would smell like on the boy...

    Crypt Queen

I've never ever done a review, so this won't be nearly as detailed as everyone else's, but I love this TONS! I don't like it in the bottle. I sniffed it and though, "Wow. I hope it doesn't stay that way." I put it on over 6 hours ago, and I still smell like dirt and roses. I have to add that I feard it because I don't like patchouli, and my skin tends to amp it, but not this time. I'm SO happy that this works on me. Nevermind the fact that her casket's adorable! (As was the lil' bat sticker on top of my box.)
