"Copal, precious woods, South American spices, agave nectar, cigar tobacco, and roses." I LOVE this one, which I knew I would. Waited about a year to try it. I give it an A each for throw and durability. I'll probably end up with an imbalance of spicy, incensy fragrances because hell, I really like them. I find that I divide my scent year into halves of fall and spring, really, and I am all about these exotics in the fall (and citrus in the spring). It's just the way it is.
  2. Bet I'm like many here who have discovered this blogging apparatus at bpal.org while looking for a place to keep notes on scents. I like Scentbase for its many conveniences, but its functionality is limited. The reason, anyway, that I wanted to take notes here is that I want to remember my relative judgments on certain scents in case I want to use that information (maybe, for example, to decide if I want a bottle of something). I'll just post individually on each one I want to keep a record of.

This one doesn't work on me, at least not yet. It has a bit of a wintergreeny cast and I can't abide wintergreen, even if it's not really there. Sooo...I dunno! I'm likely to trade this one off to someone who can lurve it if it doesn't shape up.

I'll have to try this again, but what it made me think of pretty quickly was an ashtray--like from back in the day when everyone smoked (like the 60s). Tobacco perhaps, but really burnt down. But that's not all bad. It smelled very dark, almost black, and it made me think that it would be great for darkening down very bright scents. This strategy totally worked under a unisex grapefruit-bergamot scent I have called McClendon, and I'll be trying that again. Imma let this age a bit and give it another shot to see what it does.
