    Mata Hari

Alas, jasmine does what it always does on me...turns everything into soap! On me this is a rose-jasmine soap. It's very strong and rather pretty but not what I'm looking for. The coffee note was only there for a few seconds when I first applied the scent.

    Phantasm

My skin chemistry sucks. Jasmine soap. Always happens with jasmine!! I get none of the notes everyone else is mentioning. Alas, I think I need to give up on any scents with jasmine.

    Calliope

Lavendar straight off the bat but it fades fairly quickly. It ends up being virtually all single note verbena with hints of herbs in the background every now and then. Not terribly big on verbena so I'm going to have to pass. It's nice soft scent on me though.

    Black Dahlia

Rose and jasmine soap *sigh* And it sounded so beautiful too. The scent is nice but nothing amazing. Off to swaps.

For the life of me I can't tell you why but I get...patchouli?! The one note that hates me. I do, however, get a lovely blend of berries, amber, and iris in the background. However the patchouli or what seems like patchouli is taking over and it's a note i really can't handle.

    Monster Bait: Tokyo Stomp

I completely agree with the Peppermint Patty comparison...it's the first thing I though of. A nice crisp mint with some vanilla...and oddly a sense of something a bit chocolate-y in the background. Yummy!! I think this will be great during those long hot days this summer.

    Poisson d'Avril

I actually got this bottle for my mom as a mother's day present (along with her requested moon rose). Definitely a bright spring floral scent. All the notes blend pretty well into each other. Like others, I really don't pick up on the honey...and I'm sort of hoping it won't show up on my mother either! But overall I get the feeling of dandelion and perhaps the bluebell? I'm not sure if that's bluebell but of the notes listed that's the only one I can think it is. Light, bright, and feminine...so glad I got this for my mother, I think she's going to love it! It's a perfect spring scent...and will work well this summer too as she wanders around Paris.

A kind frimp! Alas, this is all cedar on me. My skin amps it like nothing else...and it just makes me think of my guinea pig cage because it uses cedar chips. Pure cedar means I'm going to have to pass on the frimpage...

    Delphi

Bay is definitely the top note for me. This is actually a much lighter scent than I was expecting. On the herbal side, very in tune with nature which isn't really my kind of scent. Don't pick on the wine or incense, maybe a touch of honey and laurel. It's really mostly bay on me though.

    Lilith

Wow, this completely hates me. The strongest note I can pick out is myrrh, but there's something almost rotten in it. I feel like there's a sense of decay in the scents....evil indeed. As it stays on longer it's much the same with the roses coming out in front...but the roses are old and dying. I don't know what isn't working with my chemistry but something isn't!

    Cockaigne

Hello spice cake!! It does sort of remind me of Pumpkin Queen oddly enough...over time the honey and wine start to seep out. Mostly this is cake, spice cake, slightly dry but still yummy! I don't get a milky not which I adore but I'm still rather enamored of this. Keeping the imp and thinking about a bottle.

    Shattered

Surprisingly this was not sharp on me at all! It actually came off really soft and was mostly the crystalline aquatic blooms...soft, white, watery...slight citrus but not biting. It's very pretty but not jumping out at me.

    Zorya

At first all I got was jasmine but it started fading pretty quickly and became a tad soapy. Definitely a white floral mix...and has this undertone that's very similar to it's sister star Utrennyaya. I love Utrennyaya personally so there's definitely an element to this which I love too but....it fades a little too much into the soap direction and leaves me wanting a little something to make it pop! It's very pretty though, and feels like a fading star.

    Ode on Melancholy

The first few moments come off as strongly herbal and rather but that fades pretty quickly. The lavendar becomes the top note almost drowning out the rest but there's a hint of wisteria...and still some of the herbal note. I'm really not a fan of herbal so I'm goign to have to pass but I think this is an excellent representation of it's namesake.

    Coral Snake (2006)

Well, there goes my wonky skin chemistry again. I get almost single note plumeria!! And I like plumeria but it's not that spectacular to me...especially single note. Alas, what I wouldn't give for the apple that everyone else is getting! Oh well, off to someone who can love it like it should be loved.

    Silk Road

A panoply of cultural treasures, spanning the herbs, flowers, oils and balms of the Romans, the Byzantines, the Mediterranean, the Levant, Northern China, Eastern Europe, Iran, the Bulgar-Kypchak, Mesopotamia, the Crimean Peninsula, Anatolia, Antioch, and North Africa. This is a warm, comfortin spicy scent. In the beginning I can pick out the cinnamon but it blends pretty quickly into everything else - and I can't name a single other note! I definitely feel like it's a middle eastern spice blend. Very nice but too exotic for me to pull off.

    Sudha Segara

Was hoping I would love this but perhaps ginger just doesn't work for me. The ginger in this actually comes off a bit lemony on me. I love the soft milk note though...here's to more milk scents! However, in this the sharp edge that's a little too much like lemon just doesn't work for me.

    Dragon's Milk

This may be a touch too sweet to want to wear so much that I'd get a bottle...but the scent is fabulous!! I was a little worried because I've only tried one other Dragon's Blood scent and it didn't work very well on me. This however starts with a fruity sweet blast that quickly blends with vanilla and musk, with perhaps a touch of honey in the back. It's a bright scent that completely surrounds you and pulls you in. Once again it's a little sweeter than I normally like but I'm rather enamoured with it. Keeping the imp and if I go through it quickly, I'll order a bottle!

    Eat Me

Vanilla frosting with a heavy does of incense. I was hoping this would be the ultimate foody scent for me but the incense is taking over and it completely doesn't work for me.

    Othello

Musky rose soap? I wouldn't personally call this a masculine scent but a really confident male could definitely pull it off because of the musk. It's a nice scent but I sort of feel like I just used nice soap...and I do have nice soap so no need for a similar oil! It's is quite nice though.

    Love-Lies-Bleeding

Sort of smells like dirty merchino cherries (I'm sure I spelled that wrong). I get the earthy and sweet bits that others have mentioned. And it does feel red, if more of a bright fake ref, than the deep lush red I was expecting. As time goes on I get a really nice floral which I think is Orris coming to the forefront. But the other notes remain strong. I can pick out the chocolate note others have mentioned but it's not terribly strong on me. Definitely a unique blend and rather lovely but it's too sweet for a blend I'd actually use.

    Cobra Lily

This comes off primarily as sweet, bright, and soft...but then every now and then I get a whiff of something sharp. bitter and almost medicinal. If it stayed in the first phase, this would be a keeper because it's absolutely gorgeous. However, those random bitter whiffs are too offputting for me.

    Frumious Bandersnatch

I have to concur with a couple of previous reviews that on me this ends up smelling like potpourri. At first it has a very juicy plum on top which is a note I love but in the end....pure potpourri. Somehow all the spicy plum scents have come off like this on me. I'm determined to find a plum I can wear!! Although for potpourri it's quite nice. If I used the oils as room scents I'm sure I'd keep this one.

    Shadow Witch Orchid

Rich, deep, womanly and yet not overpowering and by the end it has a very soft edge to it. I'm not normally a straight floral type of girl but this is definitely an exception. I simply adore the smell of orchids. Keeping the imp and waiting to see hwo fast I use it up before buying a bottle. Simply lovely!

    Kuang Shi

I don't even know how to describe this. Nothing like I was expecting!! It's light and soft and yet somehow sharp at the same time. I don't get much fruit out of it at all. Sort of smells like these chewy candies I used to eat as a child...ginger chews, although it isn't gingery. So not helpful was that? *totally puzzled*
