    Fate's Jester

Speaking truth to kings, beggars, and popes alike, immune to retribution and lordly wrath as he flings wise quips like cream pies and barbed arrows. A motley tunic, festooned in bells: red currant and lemon peel over sugared patchouli and a bit of buttercream. A huge "Huzzah" to this Jester! Opens with a bright citrus-like sugar. Fresh and sweet, like smelling a lemon poppy seed cake. As it wears the Red Currant supports the brightness of the lemon, keeping me away from the scent memory of a lemon scented cleaner. The Patch is playful, delightfully tethering it to the ground or it will all float away. Substantial longevity and mild throw. Now I want to get out my bottle of Cherophobia 2016 and side by side test them.

    Son of biggerCritter

This aged beautifully! On skin, I can not get more than a 20 minute longevity in its perfect balance. But the oil on my cotton sleeve is glorious Coconut Vanilla Lime. I’m over the moon with this and ISO.

    Ava

Blind purchased, due to the hype. The notes were not attractive to me so I did not expect this magic that is Ava. It does remind me of Butterflies, Flowers & Jewels Attending. Believe!

    King Cake

This one is AWESOME! The description does not include rum, but wet in the bottle it made me think of Hot Buttered Rum & Anne Beany, As it wears the cream cheese frosting comes out. 20 minutes later it goes into butterscotch. I'd say the Lab is improving their gourmands.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

Any BPAL scents close to Aramis New West for Women? Just saw a 2011 recommendation to layer 51 with Lightning. Anything close since 2011?

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

Vial of Holy Water is very close to Kilian's Forbidden Games. I'm side by side testing now.

    Ivanushka

Just procured a bottle of this long sought-after scent. It's aged almost 10 years. The label is adorable, meaning...it makes me care about the tale and the thought behind the blend. In The bottle: Forest herbal and crisp leaves... the ageing makes this stage lovely. Wet On Skin: Deep warm clean musk. Arms length throw and intense longevity. One touch to this oil and scent is on for the duration of the day. After 2 hours: Still kicking out powdery musk. The throw is "keyboard" length. I like it, it's trippy. The label art is beyond cute.

    Boo Bam

Green, Fresh, & Herbal Without being prompted by the description I would never think bamboo, palm frond or hibiscus individually. The silage is SWEET! Very different than what my nose perceives when it's near my wrists. I am hoarding BooBam, folks.

    Lab Rat

This is CRAZY TALK! Many personalities one bottle. I'm getting non-stop leather with multiple notes swirling around. Each time I open the bottle it smells like something different....citrus, champagne, absinthe, fruit, floral, herbal. sweet, smokey, anise, b-vitamins. Sour patch kids, It's INSANE!

    MVJBA: Pancake Breakfast

In bottle: Maple Syrup on Pancakes - Smells divine! On skin: I'm not getting any berries, but the goat butter peeks through on dry down. I swear I smell the cooking stage, like the frying pan and all. 20 minutes later: Maple Sausage. (either that or the label art stuck in my head) My favorite "breakfast syrup" scent is still Pumpkin Patch V 2009

    Embalming Fluid

My skin chemistry is LUCKY with this one. Applied from an aged imp... Lemon, then it is reminiscent of Calyx by Perscriptives. Not at first mind you, it was hours later, after exercise and in the 90 degree Florida heat. I'm wondering "who has Calyx on"? Oh hell yeah, Bottle Right Now!

    The Gorobble

Torching is my preferred preparation of marshmallows. And, as in real Mc Coy, the burnt exterior does not have a sweet sugary marshmallow scent. The Gorobble is just burnt, there is no tasty marshmallow under that singe for me.

    Scents I can't live without

I'm writing these down as my shopping cart keeps being bumped back to empty. Then I forgot what I can't live without. Must buy as soon as possible: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Bat... this has been re-stocked! Leanan Sidhe: Clean, unique, summer provoking. Good signature summer scent. Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo: Need it fresh and slather! Lab fresh is the only way to go. Aged doesn't work here. Schroedinger's Cat: Hooray back in stock. Lemony bright. needs re-applying. may need a few bottles Got it! Knave of hearts: floral bakery..like Posset's Indy 499, which was a peony pie. Got it! Elegba: Coconut. Short lived. light scent, but a rich coconut. stays close Got it! Sjofn: Apple, fresh apple and trees On the Wait list: Dorian: It's gotta come back at some point Bordello: I waited too long..out of stock Will freak if discontinued: Gobo Have enough of...Should last my lifetime..don't buy anymore. Thalia Vice Olokun Katherine Night-Gaunt Y'ha-Nthlei DISO Tanuki do Hikifune..TTP has this. Need to free up funds Luna Moth. Do More Research Obatala..fresh watery coconut Delirium...am I spelling this wrong or it DC? Side by side testing Chapter One: Chocolate #1. Muddy Puddles vs. Chad: revealed that Muddy Puddles does have a bit of a "dirt" scent in it. Chad is the chocolateyist! #2. Chad vs. Choco Musk from Rehab: The El Rehab brought out the milk note in Chad. The Chad's chocolate was negated. The winner was the Rehab. #3 Choco Musk Rehab vs. Hot Chocolate by Back to Earth: The showdown of the dissimilar. CM is total chemical HC by Back to Earth is total natural. and the winner is...choco musk by El Rehab (it's a cheapy) because the natural Hot chocolate doesn't smell like chocolate next to the cheap fake stuff.... it smells like spices. Sigh...I'd had rather hoped for the natural fragrance to win me over. #4 Choco muck by El Rehab and....wait for it......Mother of all Souls by Arcana. More research on: Delirium Morana

    Sparkle and Glitter

First sniff: Reminding me of my beloved Snow Moon but with a white chocolate background instead of the herbals. Developing: Enjoying it even more as the chocolate is smoothing the sharp evergreens. Final thoughts: Perfect for winter.

    Beachy, Tropical Scents

The Haunted Beach comes to mind...sans tropical flowers, but definitely the beach!

    Tin Foil Hat

I've waited patiently to try a decant of this. Seven years, I guess...here goes. Wet in Imp: Ozone & Aquatic. Well-blended and sure of itself. Wet on skin: NO tin foil the others talk of...the only citrus may be the leaves or stems NO bright fruity notes. I'm reminded of Y'ha Nthlei or Olokun. Drying on skin: Upscale Aquatic Men's cologne from the 90's. There is even a touch of leather. It's stunning...a sexy, summery morpher. Final thoughts: This is a blend that ages very well. I will treasure my decant.

    Stardust

Stardust is a morpher and just took me on a trip. Here's what happened. A nice whiff of champagne bubbles with a floral background, then hurry up Into the bath with a bar of Ivory soap. (cause back in the 70's we didn't have a lot of soap choices) Get out and spray my hair so the style will last all night. At the party, I get a whiff of fruity perfume that reminds me of quince jelly. Go home and go to bed smelling a cigarette that I didn't smoke, mingled with raisins. I bet if I try it again in a month or two, it will take me somewhere else.

    Joy Buzzer

Joy Buzzer is very balanced as the lab's Champagne note is behaving itself. Champagne bubbles sharing the limelight with subdued Honey makes it one of my favorite "fizzy" scents. I'm hoping this partnership will last as the bottle ages.

    Snake Can

This is my favorite Prank, which is surprising as I can not hang with Snake Oil. Snake Can is sweet caramel and salty peanuts. For me it's a Pay Day candy bar.

    Maison En Pain d’Épices

The 2016 is different than the 2011 The 2011 Maison d' Pain smelled just like a freshly assembled gingerbread house... but brought out red welts on my skin (cinnamon allergy) 2016: No welts! During the last stages of the dry down I confused the scent for Baby's First Krampuslauf. I'm going to do a side by side when my nose re-sets.

    Red

Aged Bottle Wet in the bottle scent: there is no fruit...just musk and what smells like carrier oil. On skin: it's a well-behaved cranberry or fruit musk. Pink pepper in the background. I'm not getting the sugar-rush, must've silenced over the years. Longevity is limited less than an hour on me. Perfect if you like to change scents throughout the day. Very fun!

    Apple IX

As a "fizzy note" fan I couldn't resist this one. In the imp wet: Apple scented detergent or cleaner. Here I can smell the depth of the blend, neroli and musk. Skin test wet: Fizzy champagne note is dominating. I'm thinking Bon Vivant, Swank and even Sparkling Apple Cider The champagne note is not as prevalent as the "Champagne and ______" LEs. More like a modest, well- behaved Bon Vivant with apples instead of the strawberry. Very fun! Gonna hoard this imp.

    Baby’s First Krampuslauf

This bottle is one to ROLL. Mix up that cocoa! Bottle: Dark Chocolate, not contrived.. bitter even, no cream. Wet on Skin: Wood Smoke quickly wafting in. My Hot Chocolate drink is background...in a mug that I can't find. Dry on Skin, oil is still shiny. Sweet Wood Smoke, like a hickory smoke over marshmallows...no chocolate. What I hoped The Gorobble would be. Dry Down on Skin: Oh there is my mug of hot chocolate! Singed with a wood fire scent that dominates for about an hour. Final Thoughts: Bottle worthy! I'll want to return to BFK to find that Fall/Early Winter scent that whirls me back to my childhood ....Halloween is approaching and folks start to light their fireplace.

Dark Chocolate and Key Lime Truffle

This has been on Wishlist for FOREVER..finally found a bottle. Obviously it's Aged at least 6 years. Bottle: Bright key lime squirt & fresh Bliss (mild, rounded chocolate) Wet on skin: Key Lime yummy with a dark sour decay underneath. (Hey...what is rotting next to my lovely Key Lime?) Dry Down: Sweet Lime with a chocolate background. The sourness is gone. Final Thoughts: Glad I found this little guy. I think I will return to it often, when I want my mind blown.
