  1. Hey everyone, (Mod please forgive me if this has been asked before, I searched/looked through at least 10 pages and did not see it.) Tonight before bed I decided to put some One 'n Only Argan Oil Treatment in my hair because it was getting pretty tangled. (I'm looking forward to sleeping on it and hopefully waking up with more manageable hair. And yes I know it's not real Argan Oil.) It actually smells good in my hair, despite the fact that I believe musks, honey, amber, and sandalwood all do not smell good on me, and instead turn into the 'Powder of Death' as sunshinedaisybliss has said. I looked at the ingredients and all it said was 'fragrance/parfum'. (Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Fragrance (Parfum), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Yellow 11 (CI 47000), Red 17 (CI 26100). I'd love to find a BPAL equivalent but I have no idea where to start. I welcome all ideas and opinions.

Why do scents turn to baby powder on me?!

I'm glad I tried it too! It was such a relief. That's exactly what I did as well. I was thinking, "Hm, I dunno I like grapefruit...So Cheshire cat!" Now I know better. I really don't have a good "smeller". Unless it's bad smells...then I can smell them a mile away. :/

Hi stellamaris, I promise I won't give up on BPAL Patchouli! Every time I've smelled it otherwise it makes my stomach hurt. I sent you a PM!

Why do scents turn to baby powder on me?!

I know, sunshinedaisybliss! I was super disappointed! Thank you so much for your in-depth reply! I bit the bullet and threw on a little Thalia and Velvet and you were right on the mark! Velvet smells like a funeral parlor to me for some reason... Not good. Powder of doom it is. However! Thalia is definitely a thumbs up! It's actually one I selected so that makes me feel good. From what I'm smelling I'm getting almost 100% plumeria which is sweet and pleasant. I'm guessing I must be more of a "fruity/flowery" kind of gal when it comes to my skin chemistry. So from what you've said, I might need to stay away from honey, amber, and sandalwood (and vanilla now that I think about it...) and stick to flowery fruit scents. I'll let my Imps chill for a few days, and then try them on some other body parts and see if they react the same. Again, thank you. I'm a BPAL noob and your reply was a God send.

Why do scents turn to baby powder on me?!

Hi whataboutprom, After smelling the crook of my arm after about eight hours I can smell 'past' the baby powder. Hopefully I can learn! Thank you for the advice.

Why do scents turn to baby powder on me?!

Hi Beckie, I definitely think that sounds like a good idea. I'll let them sit for a few days then try them again.

Why do scents turn to baby powder on me?!

Yesterday I finally received my imps that I ordered. I got: Cheshire Cat Alice Thalia and two free imps: Velvet Elf So far I've tried on CC, Alice, and Elf and all three have turned into baby powder on my skin. I'm super nervous to try on Thalia and Velvet for fear that they'll also turn and I'll have a bunch of Imps that smell terrible on me. Does anyone have any suggestions? Musk/Patchouli don't smell good on me. I'm just so disappointed...
