    Midnight

Midnight is so lovely. It's the most perfumey smelling BPAL scent I've ever tried, but without the annoying sharpness of an alcohol based perfume. Lots and lots of white flowers. Extremely feminine. I'd like to be able to wear it on "I'm feeling nice and girly" sort of days. Sadly, much like nearly every other BPAL scent I've purchased, this disappears very quickly. My skin just eats scents. It's terrible. Just when I begin to love a scent, *poof* it's gone. The only exception so far has been Snake Oil, so I suppose I'll just have to find more scents with similar ingredients. Oh, Midnight, you were delightful while you lasted. Even if I could faintly smell you with my nose to my wrist after about ten minutes, I'd keep you. But you and I are destined to part.

    Gomorrah

I had never really intended to try this scent because the idea of figs makes my stomach turn just a bit. However, I was purchasing some imps and the seller had a partially used imp of Gomorrah that was rather cheap, so I thought, why not? The first five minutes or so on, I actually thought that it was a little bit, well, disgusting. But, oh, that changed as it settled down. As it turns out, I probably shouldn't have been hiding from figs like I have. On me, the fig actually smelled rather good, bordering on delicious. A very heavy, decadent scent. The problem was that, like the Bloodlust I also purchased, it turned to powder in less than an hour. And not even nice, clean baby powder. Grandma powder. Just, old ladies everywhere. That's what it smelled like. If only it wouldn't do that, I'd love this scent so.

    Bloodlust

After the first five minutes where it managed to change every sniff or so, it settled down for a "BAM! RED HOTS!" scent wherein I felt like I was bathing in liquid Red Hots. After awhile the sharp cinnamon smell calmed down and a smoky sort of smell (very faint) peaked out from underneath. But just as I was really starting to enjoy the scent, it turned into pure powder on me. I just smelled like baby powder. There was hardly even a hint of cinnamon or anything anymore. Sigh, I had high hopes for this one, too.
  4. The boys seem to love Scherezade. I don't think it smells that great on me personally, but something about it had male friends sniffing my neck right in front of my boyfriend.

    Scherezade

Oh, I had high hopes for this one. But, just like with Morocco, my skin seemed to soak it all up and very soon after applying it, it had nearly disappeared! And when I could smell it, it was just heavy musk, none of the sweetness I'd been reading about. After putting on some Snake Oil, however, and letting that sit for a few hours, I became curious about trying Scherezade again to see if there was any difference, and being impatient as I was, applied it then. Snake Oil with Scherezade was amazing! Scherezade seemed to float on top instead of sinking in and disappearing like it generally did. It was sweet (due to the Snake Oil I assume), but in a different way than the usual vanilla, reminding me of flowers blossoming over a heady sort of fragrance that I assumed to be me finally smelling Scherezade. I'm going to try to mix Scherezade with a few more things before I finally give up on it, because when I can coax it out, it's delightful. [edit] I tried Scherezade out by itself again one day, and even though my nose was not picking it up AT ALL, I got compliments from everyone who got close to me. Huh. I guess I'll try it out a bit more by itself, but I wish I could smell it like everyone else seems to.

    Undertow

I'll admit that my nose isn't at all developed, but when on wet it smells a good deal like a mix of peppermint and pine trees to me (which is surprisingly good!) The bad news, however, is that it fades almost as soon as it dries on me, and to smell it at all I have to pretty much shove my nose in my wrist to even get a hint (and all I get then is pine). It works much better on my friend, however. I'm very jealous as it's a delightful scent, it just doesn't work so well on me.

    Snake Oil

Oh my goodness! What a delightful smell! This compelled me to finally sign up on the boards and comment. I put it on, and five minutes later it was delicious. Sweet, but with something darker and thicker underneath. I usually don't like vanilla, but this is amazing. I'm in college, and my dorm room does tend to have a certain funk to it (not my fault, I completely blame my roomie and her old yogurt). Every time my friend comes to visit, she walks in my room and starts berating me for the smell. Today, however, she barged in, stopped, and said in disbelief, "Oh my God, your room smells so good!" I let her sniff my wrist and now she wants me to buy her a bottle for Christmas. Walking down the hall, another girl noticed the oil saying, "Mm! Smells like incense but better." I don't get the incense as much, but I do love the smell. Of course, my boyfriend liked it as well. Usually no one noticed when I would wear another BPAL scent, Old Morocco. When I finally mixed that with Tum, my boyfriend said I smelled like tea (which he admittedly is fond of). This is the first time I've gotten such admiring comments on a scent. And the best thing is, my room still smells like it.
