    Single Note: Bonfire

Ok, I'm happy to see schneagl say "smoky bubblegum" because I thought I was losing my mind or had accidentally put it on top of Devil's Night or something. But no, that's totally what I get after a couple hours. At first sniff, it was very piney. Stayed very piney for a while. I actually went outside and sniffed it, just in case I was smelling my Christmas tree in the background and confusing it for Bonfire. But now, after a couple hours, it smells like chewing pink bubblegum around a dying campfire.

    Devil's Night

2014 version. I was so excited to try this, I don't know why I'd never picked it up before. I shared the description with a friend and she said "oooh, that's so YOU". So I dabbed some on. *sniff sniff* Whoaaaaaa, bubblegum! I'm not catching any smoke or musk, sadly, just sugar. A couple hours later, it's faded a fair bit, and there's maybe a tiny hint of smoke. I'm going to try it again later though, maybe it'll suit me better aged. Or I might give it to my daughter, who likes sweet scents more than I do. Or the friend who laughed hysterically when I told her it smelled like bubblegum, because while it's a nice, fun scent, it's so NOT me.

    Avunculus

Yeah, this is about what happened with mine too. I got a bottle un-sniffed, and I think I'll be sending it off to a new home. I'm going to test it one more time though, hoping it was just hormonal/chemistry issues the first time.

    Sonnet D'Automne

In the imp: incense-y floral. Hmm. Wet: Sweet, mainly the white cocoa coming through here, but a hint of musk, and a little sharpness. Maybe this is the mint that others are getting. I don't get mint exactly, but...mint-like. That sharpness that hits the back of your nose. Dry: The musk definitely comes to the front, with the cocoa, leaves and amber as beautiful background notes. I think the white musk really suits me, I've gotten more compliments on this than any perfume I've ever worn. This is so worth becoming my first bottle ever.

    Rose Cross

This one went on as "grandma's rose scented dusting powder" and I was sure I wasn't going to like it. But then as it dried, it became more like "giant fresh rose", which was better. Once it was completely dry and settled in, the frankincense came through and combined beautifully with the rose. I completely reversed my assessment and will happily put up with smelling like an old lady for a few minutes while waiting for it to dry down to that lovely rose/frankincense combo!

    The Gorobble

This was an interesting one. I think I like it overall, but I'm going to have to keep sniffing for sure. Wet: Oh dear. A candle shop just exploded on me. Vanilla with spice! Vanilla with smoke! Vanilla with all the things, because everyone must love vanilla combinations! Dry: it calmed down to just vanilla and wood smoke. To me, it doesn't smell like marshmallows, but my daughter took one sniff and said "Oooh, cooked marshmallows! If you don't like it, GIVE IT TO ME!"

    Autumn Cider

In the imp: smells so much like spiced cider that I'm tempted to taste it! wet: apple and cinnamon are predominant, but I can still smell the other spices dry: unfortunately, I seem to amp the cinnamon and it ends up smelling like a holiday candle on me. So sad, I really wanted this to work, as I love apple cider!
