    Kali

For me, Kali held the same scent wet and dry, immediately and after several hours, though it also faded quickly and didn't have as much staying power as some of the other imps we (my daughter, her friend and I) got in our first imp orders. I love osmanthus and have some osmanthus pure essential oil, so I know what it smells like and never smelled it in Kali (though maybe blended it smells different). Mostly what I smell is a warm, very faintly spicy smell with just the hint of floral. Since I don't know what Himalayan wild tulip or lotus smell like, perhaps it is those. There is also just the faintest hint of tobacco. Overall, I like it and will use the imp, but won't be buying it. So many more to try!

    Vicomte de Valmont

As many others have said, this smells like a regular department-store men's cologne when sniffing the imp and when wet. But after about an hour, it starts to assert its individuality. It still smells like a cologne, but a deeper and more complex scent that the usual drugstore fare. I'd snuggle up to a guy who smelled like this any day, and would feel safe and loved. But that's how it smells on me. I put some on my sweetie, and it ended up smelling like a Hells Angel after working on his bike--a tang of metal and motor oil. Which isn't a bad thing, but was surprisingly masculine compared to how it smells on me. I don't think I would buy a bottle, but I will definitely use up the imp.

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

Initially, in the bottle and wet on my wrist, this is a perfect violet. If it stayed that way, I would snap up a bottle in an instant. Unfortunately, the violet fades very quickly and never returns. This scent goes through a baby powder stage, then after a few hours becomes a sweet (but not too sweet) anonymous floral scent. I never detected the gardenias (which I also love). It has staying power, and I like it, and will use the imp, but won't buy a bottle. I'll keep searching for a long-lasting violet scent.
