    Saturnalia

This was one of the free sample imps ear that was included in my first order. From the vial, one is hit with a wave of strong earthy tones, and vertivert. I thought this will be absolutely vile, but I tried it yesterday evening after work to see if my opinion would change. Five hours later and Saturnalia has calmed down to a mild aroma of vertivert and leather. Quite a masculine scent, but I could see where it could titter closer to a unisex perfume. It could also go nicely with Lush's Silk Underwear powder and Lush's Alkmaar soap Probably wouldn't purchase, but I will enjoy the sample.

    The Hermit

My major tarot archetype is the Hermit, and I just had to try it. It is a unusual light scent blended with notes of light florals, watery scents, and faded incense. Kinda reminds me of the smell of old books that have been in grand old libraries. That description probably doesn't really explain it, but regardless it is a perfume that won't really stand out. Like the Hermit - contemplative, reserved. I'm so glad I got this one.

    Capricorn

Since Capricorn is my sign, I just had to try it, and I was pleased to find it rich with earthy notes, hints of patchouli, and resins. It is an ambitious and serious scent, not for the faint of heart. Probably ideal to wear during the colder parts of the year. Really captured the idea of a capricorn. **update - Finally can pinpoint a description for the dry down. Fresh cedar...I keep sniffing my wrist like a wierdo, but the soft notes of cedar remind me of "helping" my grandpa make little cedar jewelry boxes and trunks. Flashback to childhood. Yep, this fragrance is a keeper!!

    Eclipse

I put this one on yesterday morning. It is supposed to be a blend of almonds, vanilla, and cherry. Initially, got a whiff of sickingly sweet fruit when it was wet. I wanted to wash it off immediately, but decided to be patient and wait for the dry down. Boy am I glad I waited. The dry down was a lovely blend of almonds, amber, and vanilla. The fruit smell was becoming a back note. The fragrance lingered on my wrists for a good ten hours. It could easily compliment Dior's Hypnotic Poison [all time winter fragrance] or Victoria's Secret Amber Romance. This one could be a possible big bottle purchase in the future.
