    O

In the bottle: Sweet, sharp amber. Wet on skin: The honey comes out a bit and then it goes in to a powdery phase. Dry: The vanilla comes out and is wonderful with the amber. Just a touch of powder is left . Overall: This is one of the sexiest sents ever on me. I just put it on and feel instantly beautiful.

    Midnight Mass

In the bottle: Sharp pine and incense. I was expecting more smoke. There is also something sweet, maple-y. Maybe this is like a sweet burning wood? Wet On Skin: Sweetness! I get a bit of smoke, but it is overwhelmingly sweet. Dry: I am getting a fruity note. Almost like peaches, but it is very faint. I smell the resin too now. get the tiny plasticy scent too. It reminds me of Midway at this point, only with a smoky pine in the backround.

    Baghdad

in the imp: Warm nutmeg, amber and orange. Mmmmmmmmmmm Wet on Skin: The amber is the first scent to come out.. It blends with the nutmeg in the most perfect way. This is such a sexy secent! 20 Mins in: Still warm spicy wonderfulness, but the orange and sandalwood have come out now. I am a bit dazed when I smell my skin right now because I am getting a huge blend of notes coming out. I actually feel warmer when I smell my skin. Overall: Spice and warmth. This is the perfect scent for cold winter days. I would get a big bottle of this in a heartbeat.

    Spellbound

In The Imp: Rose and musk. Sweet, harsh and warm Wet on Skin: The rose is very clear here. I wish it was a more musky rose because I am getting a slight vinagar like scent from it. 20 minutes in: I finally get some amber notes! They dance alone the tangy rose giving it a much warmer smell to it. But this is not good news for me because the combo of the rose and amber is not going well on my skin Such a good idea in theory! Later on: The rose calmed down, became sweeter and let the amber and musk come through. I really thought that I Spellbound hated me untill now. It's a very sexy scent once it settles on my skin. Overall: It's a good scent for rose lovers. I didn't find that I loved it, but I really liked it after it was on my skin for a little while and the notes seperated.

    Sugar Skull

In The Bottle: A dark, rich boozy sweetness. I could get drunk just from sniffing! Wet On Skin: Ah here is the maple that everyone has mentioned! On me it's a tangy maple. I get a hint of plastic that Misk U and Midway did on me too. This does not please me as I had such high expectations for Sugar Skull! On The Drydown: Still mapley and not as much plastic! I don't know if I am having scent flashbacks, but I get a hint of coffee. Also I am getting notes of something nutty. Overall: This scent kepy morphing on me from good to bad to yum!

    Devil's Night

In The Bottle: Boozy sweet smoke with a bit of spice and some lemon. Wet On Skin: The smoke rises from my wrist almost instantly, then it gives way to a sugary sweetness. This is like spiced maple syrup with whiskey if you drank it by burning leaves. On The Drydown: It didn't change much from wet to dry, which is a good thing for me because I love this one. It got a tiny bit more spicy as it dried. Overall: It reminds me of Gypsy Queen and Medicine Show in some ways only sweeter, with more spicy goodness and the kick of the booze!

    March Hare

Mt first reaction to March Hare was "It smells like Hamantaschen!!!" In The Imp: Pure Apricot. The sweet stewed kind with lots of sugar, but not so much that the ripeness of the fruit is lost. I swear I can feel the fuzziness of the skin!!!! Wet On Skin: Still very fruity with vanilla undertones. 15 minutes in: I was waiting for the cloves to come out. It is not what I think of when I think of cloves though. I was expecting a very spicy note. The clove in March Hare is very mild on my skin. Maybe the fruit evens it out, but it's a nice lightly spicy. It's a really lovely balance of fruit, vanilla and spice. Overall: I am suprised that I like a fruit scent so much and that it hasn't turned on me!! It's a warm scent that will make you hungry. I want to go make fruit filled pastries because I smell just like one!

    Hollywood Babylon

When I fisrt caught sight of this name I knew i had to sniff it. The description was just too good to pass up! In the Impie: A cornucopia of sticky sweetness. Cherry cough syrup with black bananas, but not in a bad way as odd as this might sound. Wet On Skin: MMMMMMMMMMMMMM! The amber just burst out and gives a warm comfort. The strawberry comes out just enough to balance the amber and musk and give the right amount of sweetness to it. I smell sweet and warm . 30 minutes later. It's now equal parts strawberry, vanilla and amber. There is something that reminds me of Bastet, (it must be the egyptian amber) only sweeter. Overall: I think I get why Beth had described it the way she did. I get images of my Strawberry Shortcake doll and cupcakes and it clashes with the grown up red musk and amber. Totally amazing images and this scent brought me back to the beauty and hell of being 13 years old again.

    Pumpkin Patch I (2005, 2006)

In the Imp: Tart juicy apple! No more, no less! It's like biting in to a big ripe fall apple. perfect! Wet On Skin: The apple fades a bit and there is a waxy smell that is coming off my skin. It's like an apple candle. Drydown: It didn't change much from wet to dry except the pumpkin finally came out. It's a very warm sensation, but I wish the waxy smell would go away. Overall: Warm and soothing pumpkin and apple. Who knew that a simple I wish this one worked on me because it's like a lovely mug of hot cider in the imp, but on me it's like a craft store.

    Pumpkin Patch IV (2005, 2006)

In the imp: Sweet and nutty with a bit of sour Wet on skin: All of the sour went bye-bye and it's just pure deelish! It's like a pumpkin-y peacan pie. very buttery, nutty and sweet. On the Dry Down. Ooooh the spices come out now. I get a nutmegish type of smell that becomes woody and the sandalwood really comes out. This is such a comforting scent! Overall: Lovely foodie smells that turns in to an outdoorsish woodish scent.

    Dragon's Heart

I got this one a while ago, but just tried it on today! I am so glad I did, it's so warm and sexy! It must be worn with dark red lipstick and a little black dress. In the Imp: Tartness with a sweet little something. I love the figginess. It smells amazing with the Dragon's Blood. Wet on Skin: Dark sweetness and something a bit tart. The currant is still very strong in the first few sniffs and it hides the figgy. On the drydown. Muskiness. I want to bath in the smell. I get a few notes of the currant and fig which is still amazing with the Dragon's Blood. It's such a good blend of fullness, musk and sweet that I can't stop sniffing! Overall: Warm, sexy and on my ever-growing list of big bottles.

    Undertow

In the Imp: Fruit and sweet ocean sharpness. This has to be the juniper. There was also a candy sweetness that stuck out. I remeber thinking "This is how The Little Mermaid must smell during a tea party!" Wet: Mint just burst out of this one on my skin. It was a soft sweet mint, like the scent of a chocolate mint confection almost. Smooth, sweet and clean. On the Drydown: Still very minty with a hint of salt. I got an image of summer camp at the lake where you can smell the seaweed in the air. 30 minutes later: It's dry on my skin, but it's still a wet smell. Still sharp mint with is that coconut I smell? Or is it saltwater taffy? Overall: I am intriged by this scent. I am not an aquatic kind of gal, but in my six months of BPAL addiction I have never had a scent that was so intense in both good and bad ways or that morphed so much. The mint burned my nose (from sniffing it so much) and the salt and sweetness brought me back in. I was brought back to summercamp and then to eating Fanny May's Mint Meltaways. This is an amazing scent

    Bon Vivant

This is a fun, sweet, bright pink and bubbly scent. I feel like I am 10 years old again when I smell it! In the imp: I get a slight sourness and bright sweetness. Wet on skin: Candy strawberries, pure and simple mixed with a sharp note. I assume this to be the champagne. On the drydown: The strawberry blends in with the tart making it not as sweet/ I'm so glad I got this as a frimp because I stay away from fruit notes/ scents. But this one just makes me happy and feel pretty. I must go sample some champagne now to compare it to Bon Vivant.

    Morocco

Yum! I love this scent so much. I just got it as a frimp and nearly fainted when I sniffed it because it was so wonderful! In the imp: Vanilla, not an overly sugared vanilla like in Dorian, but a pure natural vanilla. I can almost taste the bean! Wet on Skin: Oooooooooooooh so many notes just rose up from my wrists. It's a perfect mix of a sweet musk, cinnamon and sandalwood. I can't believe how fast the notes changed. On the Dry down: The cinnamon and musk are the more dominant notes, while the vanilla and spices calmed down a bit, but are still there. I get a small whiff of something powdery, but I assume this is the carnation. Overall: I must get a bottle of this because my imp will not survive the week. It's sweet and warm spice. Comforting yet very exotic.

    Kunstkammer

Warm orange candy liquor. It smells a lot like a brandy with spice. If I could drink it I would.

    Whip

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I love this scent. I got this as a frimp and was skeptical because rose doesn't work well with me. In the imp: There was a sharpness that tingled my nose, but then calmed to reveal the rose and was less pungent Wet on Skin: The sharpness remains. The leather almost took on a lemon note, but it faded as quickly as it hit. On the Dry Down. The perfect balance of dry rose and spicy. The leather note really warms up the rose and when the rose comes out it's so close to an actual rose that it's a bit overwhelming.

    Persephone

The sweetest, juiciest ripe rose that you will ever smell. In the imp: I was overloaded with ripe fruit with a very strong rose, just as I was expecting to. On my skin: The pomegranate was dominate until the rose came out. The two balance each other perfectly so that it was not too fruity and not too floral on me. An hour later: Still going strong. It has a potential to be overbearing, but in small dabs it is one of my favorite rose scents. Overview: I love Persephone, but tend to only wear this scent in my hair and in lotions because it is very strong on me. It makes me feel very sexy, romatic, soft and alive!

    Snake Charmer

At first I thought "This is very muck like Snake Oil!" but on the drydown I got strong figgy and vanilla notes and there was much more spice to Snake Charmer. After a while I got the coconut. It wasn't like a suntan lotion/fake coconut. It reminded me of fresh slices of raw coconut. I adore this scent. I will be getting another bottle.

    Dorian

I had heard nothing but amazing this about Dorian and was delighted to find it in a swap. I must say that I was not disappointed at all! In the imp I got faint hints of lemon and a bit of something floral. Lavendar maybe? On me it started to morph in to a sweetness that wraped up around me and hugged until I felt calm and (hungry) A warm cup of heavily sugared tea with lots of pure fresh cream. About 15 minutes later the vanilla begain to come out and all I could think was that I wanted a cup of sweet tea with a big piece of vanilla cake.

    Kathmandu

In the imp it was very cedar-y, warm and full of spice. Wet on my skin it took a spicy root beer mixed with mint. On the dry down it was was very nice, a smokey cinnamon. This would make a wonderful room scent in the winter. It's instantly warming and inviting.

    Embalming Fluid

In the imp- Almost pure lemon with notes of orange Wet- The tea note comes out here, along with a sugary sweetness Dry on skin- A warm cup of green tea with sugar and lemon. There are a few hints of musk that make it soothing. The aloe note didn't hit me until I had it on for about 20 minutes. I love this one. To me it would be perfect for warm, flowing spring and summer nights
  22. I'm a newer Bpaler. I got Bastet and Dragon's Musk from Ebay(my first two sniffs of BPAL evah!! I loved them both. They have a muskiness to them which I adored paired with the sweet especially in Bastet. Which oils also have this sweet spiciness with a hint (or more) of musk?
