    Suffragium

Before I read the description or remembered anything about Suffragium, I smelled it and murmured to myself "solemn". Yup. It is. Solemn meditative incense yet to be burned. Blue is the color that comes to mind.

Wet: the cream does a heavy burnout in my face. Whooo. Then ..a moment of clarity at the end of a wormhole. Smells like white flowers, very mineralic spa water, clean mint, and sweet fig. Drydown: I have no idea what this clean note is, pulling to the forefront but its wonderful. The floral spa water smell doesn't go away but I really REALLY like it. Super clean in an ayurvedic calming way. No astringency. I think this is the hallmark scent of what many want their house to smell like after a massive cleaning and purchase of new bedding and throw pillows for every goddamn surface..but alas its unachievable because its in the wood and atmosphere, not the accessories and cleaning supplies. Try this instead. Totally unique scent. I highly recommend it.

Where's the milk? Huh. My skin ate the milk, so this is all sugary honeycrisp apple (my favorite type of apple anyways). I'd still get a bottle

    True Love

Lavender, yes. Coconut-yes. Playing with Sun's Eye Oils in every new age shop for 20 years- ABSOLUTELY. They must have a similar proprietary blend? I believe in the previous statement that Beth snuck in bits of jasmine, cade and lemongrass. Something jasmine and citrusy in here. They're amping on my skin coconut is moving to the back quite a bit!

    Hooligan Witches

ZZ is correct with the Mouse Circus association - popcorn and sweet. This is stronger though...better. No real pumpkin spice to be found and no soda zippiness, just sweet sugary pumpkin cream, buttery popcorn and fresh fried ice cream. Its brilliant. I love it.
  6. AN INCUBUS LEAVING TWO SLEEPING WOMENAn Incubus Leaving Two Sleeping Women, Henry Fuseli. Vanilla-infused white honey, magnolia, skin musk, ylang ylang, and beeswax with patchouli, olibanum, kurundu, and a feral brown musk. Just got this out of the mail, so it may need a little time to open up.. Wet: sweet earthy brown musk with ylang ylang, beeswax and patchouli. The magnolia is getting jumbled around and fragmented here. I think the vanilla honey is what's smelling like light caramel to my nose right now? This is a tricky one because it keeps hopping back and forth between honey sweet ylang ylang and fine wooden furniture with burning beeswax candles and perfume. I think if one was to rename it blindly, it could emote a woman's dressing table at dusk, say around the 16th century, with burning candles, fine perfumes, and provocative flashes of bare skin. Drydown: the olibanum and beeswax takes over on my skin. I can smell wafts of the vanilla honey and ylang ylang as well, but I would say the overall color impression is brown with bits of ivory. Sexy and very very dry.

    Hyakki Yagyō

Demonic black musk, inky myrrh, black coconut, champaca blossom, and smoky clove bud. Whoaheee! This is demonic for sure. Smoky, black, inky. Yup. Its all of that. Wet phase is a huge black musk and myrrh burn off. Like tire smoke. Whoa. Drydown is sweeter, more earthy, with the coconut finally appearing. Fans of Streets of Detroit and Black Temple Burlesque Troupe, Brown Jenkin..or anything black musk, should try this.

    One Perfect Day

You did not need to creep into my heart The way you did. You could have smiled And knowing what you did, you have kept apart From all my inner soul. But you beguiled Deliberately. - Alice Dunbar-Nelson Honeyed tea rose, lavender water, red benzoin, bois de rose, and rose amber. A very straight-forward scent, exactly as described. Wet, there's a sugary powdery burn off period. Raises up around me in a powdery pink cloud and dissipates after 30 min. Smells like super fine dusting powder. Drydown is even-keeled, sweet, and glowing roses. I'm loving this! Roses and lavender water with plenty of warmth from the benzoin and amber. Victorian-ish, but way sexier. Yesssss.

    Deux

I've tried this twice with drastically different results. There's something in here reminiscent of a red oudh..like some kind of wood that goes sour when 1st applied. 2nd application, I'd have to totally agree with the egyptian vibe. Deep egyptian musk smell with a rose background. Interesting and confusing and I'll probably be seeking a bottle.

Big morpher but true to the notes listed and I enjoy every phase. Wet: very red patchouli, musky roses(prbly the benzoin helping) with strong liquerish agarwood and a bit of sweetness from the currant. Sex bomb. Keep this on you on dates/prowling jaunts and reapply constantly. Drydown: mostly roses and black currant, which I'm perfectly fine with! Warmth from the benzoin gives this a cozy sitting by the fireplace with nice fancy pastries feel. Love it.

    Douze

My nose must have been mush when I first smelled my decants because its a totally different world now. I didn't like Douze when 1st tried, but now I love it. Wonderfully different interpretation of tea roses. The hay and pink (?!) sandalwood really warm normally sharp acidic tea rose. Its wonderful, french countryside tea rose. The vanilla orchid just keeps things fresh and airy. I would love to see some of our lovely bpal renaissance re-enactors wear this one!

    Un

You know, I'd have to say I don't get much similarity to Lush's Rose Jam. I mean yea its sweet rose, but this smells more like straight up rose & cherry hard candies on me. Still a winner though!

    The Pearl in the Volcano

When I first opened this decant, something made me cringe..like a rotting smell.. and I clapped the cap right back on and pushed it aside. Weiiiirrrddd. I have NO IDEA why... Because a day later I went back to it and didn't smell bad at all! Maybe the vetiver, myrrh & cream notes mingled weirdly until it aired?? Seems its the skin chemistry wild card of the luper set. I see raving reviews and not so good ones. Hmmm. Anyways... on, its pretty good. Warm red amber, rice milk and an earthy grounding from the vetiver. Red currant gives a sweet fruity background. Its accurate on color scheme interpretation. I'd recommend trying it day after popping the cap, if anyone has the same issue I did. Seems its like decanting a wine and needs to breathe for a sec.

    Sapphics

2018 Version: I never tried the original, fyi. Sapphics is sweet, earthy and soft. Well blended and light throw/sticks close to the skin. Mostly grey amber and tonka with a pouf of muguet when wet. Comforting, golden grey color impression, kinda like a different version of a skin musk. For an oil with almost no throw, I'm surprised I'm drawn to purchase a bottle. The tonka makes it magneticly magic. I'd say its a cozy sleep blend.

    Onze

Solid, straightforward, dependable. Like all Tauruses should wear this scent if they want to magnify their astrological personas. Really, the notes are an even break, no surprises. Its brunch with freshly squeezed orange juice and a small vase of roses on the silver tray. Eh? Sound good?

    Cassiopeia

Whoa whoa whoa... where has this blend been all these years? This is the perfect plum perfume. Deep floral note, burgundy and dark purple, not too clean or cloying. This should have been a Crimson Peak scent. My favorite plum yet!

    Odic Force

Ooh. a version of eucalyptus I can actually wear. Yay! Yes, it does have a masculine edge but I would call it clean and gender-neutral officially. Green, clean, lime scented soap? *pause* Well, actually... wait..some muskiness is coming out...now its like unsettlingly clean. Like what did you do right before you got here? clean. Like you did the naughty in the Dr's office again didn't you, clean. Creepy secretive clean. Naughty invasive boss clean. I'm creeping myself out. oops. Welllll anyways, its worth a try considering all that, right?

    A Spirit, Katie

Huh! I'm loving this scent for spring. Smells a bit like a sweetened, white musk, white & green tea blend with sexy syrupy-ness in the background. Guessing that's the rosewater and cognac combining. The bergamot is bubbly and leaves that citrus poof tang on my tongue, when wet. Drydown? OMG... Its glorious. This almost smells like white/saturn peach single note, on me. Ok let me get a grip here and try to explain the unexplainable... Green cognac is glowingly showcased here. Reminds me of a memory of mine: sipping chartreuse in an ancient dockside lounge during summertime in Newport, RI. Not kidding. The way the rosewater develops on drydown is to die for! A Spirit Katie is refined, non-cloyingly clean, sweet, perfumey and luxurious. Getting a bottle.

    Peach VI

I got this when it came out and never reviewed it? Anyways... this is super fruity, deep, sweet and the blue musk is an unusual twist that actually works. Wet, reminds me of a classic British type perfume but a bit sweeter and naughtier. Drydown: The patchouli smells of the aged red type, which is my nose confusing red sandalwood with red patchouli...anywhooo. It bombs forward on drydown. If you like sweet funky dirty goblin/imp scents, this is for you.

    Cat Chasing Butterflies

Pretty straight-forward. The only thing I wish for more of is the almond cream (like marzipan or heavy cream almond pastry filling?) I see the hairspray thing during the wet phase, but just hang on. It lasts for like 5 min. Its pretty light on the throw, summery, bright light orange and amber colors. Mostly sweet musk and I bit of peach blossom on drydown. Revisiting this in the summertime.

    The Pleasure of Aristocratic Women

I've been maniacally slathering this. The almond burns off quickly, hence reapplication is happening like... once an hour. I tend to mega-amp teakwood so my review is a little skewed...but if you blast woods into space far beyond Carl Sagan's golden record, straight to alien olfactories... then read on. Wet: Fruity almond and lots of teakwood! Glossy, liquer-ish, golden, sweet honey. Yum. Drydown:Shiny shiny teakwood, golden honeyed amber, almond extract, a bit of bouncy coconut. Glowy! I love it. 1 hour later: Ok this is where it gets annoying.... I can smell it on *everything* else but me. Like clothing, bedding, THE CATS. Everywhere but me. I'm chasing the scent around like a police dog scouring a massive shag rug for a crack rock. Yes, I've picked up the cats and smelled them. Yes, I went through all 8 pillows and smelled the whole..I mean whole.. bed. This is a first. *hurmf*

    Who Would Not Tremble Too?

Hey- guess what. I waited until springy weather to try this and it IS a wonderful springtime scent! Everybody go grab your decants and bottles and try this again. Its brilliant, when its not the dead of winter. Shining orange blossom and crystal clear sweet honey with green apple, mostly. Wafts of jasmine tea and lily of the valley are coming around like the breeze through a window, when everything is blooming outside. Perky, happy uplifting...all of that. Winner! Glad I hung onto this.

    Smut

2018: I'm calling this year's incarnation The Magical Mystery Smut. Why? Because it smells different every time I apply it. This was a blind bottle purchase, so maybe volume has something to do with it.. If I rub by wrists together, guess what..it smells different on each wrist. First time, it smelled of black musk and booze. 2nd application, its golden musk with some light sweet floral pink thing going on and sugar on the other wrist. 3rd, its pure pink sugar and rum and golden musk on the other wrist. The list goes on. This stuff is the shit! It gets my favorite icon award.

    Fortuna Felix

What djnevermore said. Its lush karma without the overpowering green patchouli note...thank gods cuz karma's excessive oomph gets on my nerves after a few hours...hahaha! Drydown boils down to orange-tinged champaca and vanilla with grounding warm clove. Happy, cozy, fuzzy.

    Fortuna Redux

I'd say pipe tobacco with an airy touch of deep sweet jasmine. The perfect type to blend with tobacco. Its got some leathery bite when it warms up...and I llllllike it. Redux is pretty complex for only having 2 notes...and gorgeous. Romantic, warm, and wafts wonderfully. Total keeper!
