Woot! Peach champagne with a citrus zest garnish! zippy! Not too alcoholic though. It is refreshing and amps on me like whoa. I did a slight test from the bottle lip and its straight up the nose and in the eyeballs. It's the cleanest out of the bunch, which is surprising considering the champagne feel. I think I blew my nose out already. oops. Overall, this is a great pick-me-up. Annnnddd I'm with Glambie on not breaking up the Peach Pit. They're all so different and complimentary. If I swapped this, I'd feel like something was missing/ there'd be a big whole in my collection.

Preface: Ok, over the past few years, I've become a total whore for anything in these3 categories: sweet, pink-smelling, or syrupy debauchery including tobacco. Peach I falls in 2 categories out of 3 (its not pink-smelling, of course. Don't want to be obtuse here.. ). I amp this for a decade. The peach sticks around (dies down after the wet phase but still notable). The tonka is actually identifiable on my skin, which happens, like, NEVER. The red musk doesn't turn metallic or decaying-mushy. Its *just enough* where I can really appreciate it. I'm usually sensitive to red musk! Overall, a sweet tobacco peach scent with a devilishly dark red musk note.

Peach IV is a strange one on me. I think the notes I amp depends on what I eat/how much coffee/ etc. Yesterday: So my skin ate it. Then it came back. Then it ate it again. Then what I'm left with is the sandalwood resin smell Villainess uses in Crushed, Asphyxiate, and Jai Mahal. Slightly. Partially chewed and digested by my dermis (hey dermis, you're a dick btw). Not much peach at all. Mostly frankincense and ho wood. Today: completely different! Soft, sweet, resinous amber-y peach. Mellow, even throw. Frankincense and ho wood are completely in check. It still matches my natural skin stink a bit too well, to where it camouflages itself. Other people (mainly husband) think I smell great, but hell if I can smell it myself! Same thing happened with Sprinklecake even though they're dynamically different scents, btw! Keeping this around for the compliments.

I just placed The Other Hot Chocolate on one wrist and Grog on the other wrist. Now tell me.. how the hell am I supposed to get anything done today? ok really.. The Other Hot Chocolate was a no-brainer bottle order. It's sweet, deep hot chocolate with those floaty dried marshmallows. Reminds me of all those awesome moments in life when I decided a cup of hot chocolate was in order to fix the day. Its that light-hearted powdered chocolate smell of Cocoa Puffs/Pebbles/hot chocolate powder mix, taken just a weeee bit into the dark side.

In bottle: bourbon vanilla and a wee bit of smooth frankincense. Wet: Whooooom! it flipped. I knew this walking into it.. but I *amp frankincense like crazy*, so you have to take my review with a grain of gourmet salt... I can smell the bourbon vanilla somewhere in there but its mostly frankincense. Like I'm hiding a resin burner under my shirt. Though this is sweeter and less powdery/piney than actual burning frankincense. Drydown: I can see the benzoin and american cream comparisons. Slightly heady, foody, boozy sweetness and a deep deep bass note of frankincense. Ok whew. I thought I blew my nose out impatiently huffing it so frequently during wet phase. My recommendation would be- you *really* need to allow it to mellow on your skin. This sticks around for a bazillion hours and the throw is significant. ETA: I'm hoarding this. I want to smell like this for everandeverandever.

Uhm. 10 bottles, please. me and the husband are in love with this one! We need like 5 bottles each. Its sweet, musky, a little foody without being too powdery or bready, not too much spice. I'm calling it "The Other Snake Oil" instead.

My 1st impression was "scrubbed vegetables". Something about the snuffed candle and green mix said that. As it dries down this becomes a calm, silenced scent. Description is accurate. I truly like this. Low throw. I can see the comparison to Ode on Melancholy.

OK so I received a decant of Box 116 a couple years ago and LOVED it. Smelled like chocolate, sugar, caramel, cherries and syrupy pineapple. However, when I searched for reviews, everything was coming up salted caramel and burnt sugar. I was reaaalllyy confused. Then finally this week I said fuck it and arranged a swap for a bottle of Box 116 thinking I'd like it regardless. Upon testing the bottle, I got the same notes! My skin turns this fruity sugary. I'd have to say there's some fruit note that's not pineapple. Pineapple disappears on me after a couple minutes. Must be syrupy marachino cherries. There's something of the burnt sugar/rum/caramel family in here too. Honestly, this is to die for. I just bought 2 bottles off bpal's etsy site because I'm seriously not fighting over 1 bottle with my choco obsessed hubby.

You know I think coffee and basically any strong food consumption has a part to play in the playdoh factory factor. I retested this morning before I drank any coffee and its exactly as described by the lab and quite brilliant. The wet phase made me think "well, does vanilla ice cream really smell that good after all? I mean this is dead on but I never thought about how it actually smells..not that great!" Then a couple minutes later its all floaty soft sweet creamy vanilla. This worked out! I noticed this scent changed slightly after I drank a bit of coffee. Its quite reactive to skin chemistry/what you consume. I've never seen a scent do this so obviously!

The pine and cypress take waaaayyy over on this one. Petitgrain is super blooming on this too. Its a medicinal purifying blend on me. I mean, if I had a hangover or I was sick, I would grab this immediately for a green jolt. I might have gotten a decant of a bottle that is heavier on these 3. Its a hard fight to smell the strawberries and red currant. Even during drydown, the green blend is in reverse prominence on my skin. I <3 oakmoss and never mind mint and I've learned to love green tea too, but unfortuntately they're pushed back in the shuffle.

I vote this the sleeper hit of the bunch. You either love or you hate black licorice...but this is sweet, spicy, resinous, earthy, and hard to pin down. The wet phase is distinctively licorice with orange blossom. The drydown, it becomes so much more. Kinda close to the skin, but I bet guys are going to love this. Its more unisex than anything. This is not patchouli heavy, mind you. Color impression is burgundy and speckled black with shots of amber and maroon.

Wet: WHABOOM! mango cassis and currant Sweet, tropical, toothachingly awesome. Tropical starburst candy. Drydown: Still tropical starburst..which is kinda awesome and it sucks because now I have to drive to the store and hope to hell they carry tropical starburst. If you have a chance to sniff a tropical starburst, now you'll smell a hint of jasmine every time. Srsly.

Wet: same as everyone..strong vetivert. Then white amber, quince, and tangerine take over with a bash-pow of bergamot. Mimosa is relatively strong and floral-y sweet with what smells like coconut water as well. The vetivert starts to take a backseat which is surprising! This reminds me of tropical room sprays or aromatic oils used as room fresheners with those little stick things reaching out of a jar. Drydown: this is the strangest sweet vetivert and patchouli blend ever. Mimosa, quince, bergamot, vetivert, patchouli..in that order. That's what's sticking around. I'm seriously scratching my head over this one. I love it and dislike it at the same time. Its as annoying & entrancing as watching Paris Hilton on TV.

You know, out of all the frimps I recently received, this is what stuck out. The overall effect is a well-rounded, waxy, smooth, viscous green floral without smelling damp or wet. I want to emphasize the viscous part here.. It really truly smells (to me) like the creamy slightly spicy wax which protects rose, lily, and gardenia petals. I wouldn't advise going about abusing these lovely flowers just to experience my comparison.. but wait for the natural attrition of life to take place and seize your opportunity! You'll see what I mean ... This is a clean green spicy smell that I'll never confuse with household product, ponds, stems, leaves...whatever else.

Amazing! Lavender, marshmallow, and possibly myrtle? I love this blend. On 1st sniff I turned to dh and said "ooohh thiissss smellssss gooouuudddd." with this goofy lackadaisical grin on my face at which he replies, amused, "whhhaatt did you just say? *grin*"

In the vial and wet this smells like a host of Archipelago candles. Basically, you'll understand exactly what I'm saying if you've ever found them in a shop. Stand in front of the collection and just breathe in then try to tell me I'm wrong... I dare you. Overall, well blended. perfect cascade of sweet watery notes. Verbena and lime burn off in drydown leaving a sweet green white yellow watery impression. I'd have to say it reminds me most of Enfleurage and Charleston.

Figs and Fig Scents - alone and in combos
SophieCedar replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
I would second The Grave Pig. Does't sound like much fig would come through but man its earthy fig for sure. Hetairae is a wonderful warm figgy honey clove scent. I would actually consider it closer to Pacifica's Mediterranean fig than many others. Its not a foody fig... Just a sexy fig. I would also recommend Nymphes de Pave (look on the forum For Sale page) its a rosy syrupy fig. -
Hmmm..this goes sharp green tart apple on me. Like apple skins and stems, not juicy flesh. Its actually under-ripe green apples... Strange!

:wub2: Wet: this is strong sugary raspberry sherbet and iced lime. Smells like melted iced treats! Drydown: this is where it gets good. Smells Like Golletes. Just Like Golletes. Frikkin sweeeet! bottle(s)* worthy. *I reserve the right at any time to increase the ordering amount from one bottle to as high as 10,000,000,000. ETA: increase of policy limit.

I agree with the comparison to Hope. That's exactly what sprung to mind when I 1st applied. The rose sugar can be reallllyyy strong, dominating the blend, if over-applied on my skin...so I dabbed here & there lightly to allow the marshmallow, vanilla, and strawberry to appear. Color impression is sheer luminescent light-pink & off-white Overall, this is a wonderful scent. sweet, creamy, rosy, lighthearted, comforting, joyful. Glad I bought 2 bottles unsniffed.

Lush to BPAL scent comparisons (BNever included too)
SophieCedar replied to Vanilla's topic in Recommendations
Hmmm... this is a tough one. Honestly I haven't come across many bpals that resemble it. Its not 100% but Blossoms in Springtime is good. It has a warm vanilla with slight flowery background feel. I can't really think of any from the GC. You know, its not a perfume but OLOP House of Unquenchable Fire atmo spray feels vaguely similar to me. Oh, also, you may want to report to mods so they can merge... there's a LUSH similarities thread here: LUSH to BPAL -
Awesome awesome awesome. The ambrette seed is wonderful and separates this from the direct and overt honey/musk combo of Womb Furie or O. Creates a smell that simulates a glow, slightly resinous but clean, lighthearted, warm and stimulating.

Phobos and Bones Trombone... I know I'm late to the party here but I gotta put my 2 scents in (I'm punny)

Hi there! I'm not big on overt ocean notes so prefer blends in the vein of what I think you're looking for. I would suggest Y'ha-nthlei, Obatala, and The Sea Foams Milk. Y'ha-nthlei is very bright, clean, oceany, happy. Obatala: I've randomly had people happily comment how I smell like sunscreen and the beach. The Sea Foams Milk: sweet tropical coconut milk + non-brine-y surf spray smell.

For me? I like fresh without too clean, sunny, and slightly comforting: Strawberry Moon 2012(sunny nature girl feel) Vasilissa(glowing fresh skin) Tushnamatay(physical and spiritual connectivity. simple contentment.) Gaoler's Daughter(bright sunny sweet skin).
