This is a WONDERFUL summertime scent! I know because I'm sitting here at 8:30am, already 73 degrees outside and this is helping me wake up and feel more refreshed. Sweet fresh, lemony/neroli, jasmine green tea. So awesome.

Thanks everyone!! capncait you're hilarious! makes me rethink serving martinis and margaritas at the reception. We're having the ceremony @ a gazebo on the waterfront and reception at our house, in the backyard. We're trying to secure a bouncy castle if the weather is good! *for the adults, not the kids* Having the scent last all day was the part that I was concerned about. I mean I can definitely dash into the house to reapply ..and all my friends understand my obsession w/bpal anyways so if I dabbed in public they would simply want some too! For longevity, I was thinking of the gardenia or magnolia blends, as those seem like the marathon champs: Josie mixed with Chimera to sweeten, Gaoler's Daughter, or Hope from what I have. I do have Mme Moriarty but she doesn't like me.. pomegranate is not my friend for some weird reason! Parsifal, wonder if that would last? Like the idea of Helena too. I tend to amp rose like crazy so I have to be careful... Hope lasts on me because of that reason! Booze notes are ok, as my skin has a sweet base so it turns syrupy. Though the suggestion for Gypsy Moth excited me because I should be receiving a decant soon! Such great ideas... I have a lot to think about here. I love all of them! -

Thanks guys! Awesome suggestions so far! (and thanks for the compliments on my dress pick .) I was actually debating a chocolate base or dorian! There's a bunch here I totally didn't think of and totally didn't expect.. AWESOME. Like Ronin and Titania? Awesome offbeat suggestions I wouldn't have thought of!! I was also thinking of Hope from CD but mixed with something. I'm going to check out the 13s too! -

Hi guys! Someone did this a few months ago and I thought it was an awesome idea.. so I am too! Below is my wedding dress. Getting married Friday the 13th of August this year! What scent do you think would match? Provide as many as you like please! Thanks so much!! -
I was fortunate enough to receive a testable sniffie from another bpal member. thanks! This definitely reminds me of a couple Salon I scents. Maybe Orpheus mixed with a touch of Two Monsters? It's heady, sharp, clean without being white, and wonderfully intoxicating. I touch of chrome ad citrus comes out in the drydown with hibiscus. The vetivert keeps it from being screechingly clean. Totally a unisex scent.

Durian Fruit Infused Honey with Brandy
SophieCedar replied to angelicruin's topic in Limited Editions
Wet: tangy fruit and brandy with a touch of the lab's honey note. It's very strong during this phase. Drydown: the brandy booze smell mellows and I'm left with a green/brown/maroon tangy honey. Interesting but a bit sharp for my taste. It's a bit like sour patch kids rolled in cherry brandy. -
Tobacco flower, white gardenia, bergamot, and bourbon geranium. Tobacco flower is strong so it prevails here... I can smell bits of the rest. All elements are notable. It has a clean white tea feeling to it. Nice for hot summer days like today!

Very light green and strong tea and hibiscus. Nice summer scent for those that love green tea! Something comes out as a slight pepper note when rubbed and a white sweet flower smell becomes stronger. Lime becomes stronger here and the green tea poof has passed. Not bad!

Chocolate is strong at first then mellows a bit. The SO stays solid throughout and the vetivert comes out more in the drydown, giving this a "dry chocolate" feel. Nice and not too sweet.

Mmm. delicate, sweet, sexy. Love it. Need a bottle. This stays true from imp to drydown but it disappears a little quickly..

Gloopy jammy and weird indeed! The 2 strongest I smell is musk and blackberry. The first time I tested it, I smelled watermelon as some other posters have mentioned but this has switched around. I like it! Murky and fruity. Who would have known the 2 could work well.. oh wait.. Beth did.

Exactly as described. The patchouli isn't that strong in this one. It's the black musk that I smell most strongly. The orris is amped too. Nice, dark, musky, dirty. Bad bad men wear this to bed.

The ruler of the rose scents. Sweet creamy sugary roses. Stays true from wet to drydown. It also lasts all day! Need a bottle please!!!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this one. It's herbal and slightly bitter with a waft of plum in the background. Some edible herbs but more rooty and poisonous smelling. maybe a waft of men's cologne.. Interesting notion. I'll have to come back to this one. ETA: my chemistry has changed and I LOVE Oya now. Its deep plum and something that smells like Vanilla Fields with a touch of lily of the valley or african lily. Fucking over the moon on this one!

Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)
SophieCedar replied to zillah37's topic in Carnaval Diabolique
This started off with patchouli dominating at first then morphed to more of a red musk pomegranate plum snake oil. It's smoky, spicy, VERY RED, not too wet. Like it but it's not performing the magic it seems to do for others. It turned a little cough syrupy on me at drydown. I'll keep it around in hopes that it will eventually agree with my skin. I am in my 30's after all.. the age decade where body chemistry goes bonkers! -
Strange.. I seem to be the only one that gets lilac as the strongest note when wet. Honey wine runs up along side it shortly after and the myrrh and resins blossom wonderfully. Drydown is a bit weak and only offers resins and tea leaf with a ghost of the wonderful lilac/myrrh combo.. but I love the process so much I bought a bottle!

Funny. I felt the same way as kikithepirate when I first applied it. I first smelled dryer sheets, with the application arm rested away from my face. The sun baked flowers took over the scent. Then I picked up some pineapple, amber, & apricot. I tried a second slather because it seemed bizarre to me.. same.. Then I tried rubbing the mixture around a bit... BINGO! The mixture activated and the "vision" or atmosphere of a sun-baked sweet summer picnic complete with tobacco pipes unfolded! Warrants slathering to ward off the strongest top note: flowers.

Yum. The cocoa and leather are a strong but equal couple in the beginning. It mellows a bit on drydown so you can smell a waft of incense and flowers. This is like Bow & Crown of Conquest> one step in the sweet direction (cocoa instead of sage/carnation)

Effervescent floral green honey. It's the champagne note I remember from Bon Vivant mixed with a white/green floral and sweet sweet honey. Apparently this one likes me... The florals go slightly soapy on the drydown, but all the new Apiary scents seem to tend towards that. More linen/cotton clean soapy than soap soapy. Think soft honey cotton. I thought I wasn't going to like this one because in the imp it's very sharp green like a lot of RG scents. However this is a winner for anyone that loves sweet clean cottony smells!

Wow! I can smell all the fruits and flowers when wet but the SO is having a hard time competing. Primarily spicy red apple and plumeria with a hint of blood orange wet. Gardenia isn't notable here. Lemon peel could be giving it the spice effect? Drydown, the SO comes out. It's a lovely combination on me. Everything else is masking my ability to distinctly smell gardenia, which I love. I think it's changing the background composition slightly however! Love it. Supremely yummy and seductive.

Wow! Much more balanced than Depraved. I was expecting the patchouli to take over on this one, but no! Exactly as described. The coconut is actually the strong element while wet, then they're all even in drydown. Very nice!
-
Mmmm. This is wonderful. Clear, bright, ethereal (as lab described) citrus & flowers. As expected, it burns off pretty quickly, but great while it was around!
-
The sweet orange took over and combining with the plumeria smelled like sweet grapefruit to me. The incense and copal underneath smells a bit like strong white musk. Very similar to Cheshire Cat, amplified. Smells MUCH different than I pictured it! It's still nice, but I was totally surprised.

Yesssss! I got my wish (kinda) for something that smells like ground cherries! Wet: Green, viney, sweet, juicy, slightly acidic top note, and fresh smelling without going into baby powder or girly territory. Drydown: tomato/ground cherry smell is still there..There's something coming out that smells like orchid to me. Also, for some strange reason there's also a green pumpkin note? Glad to see Schmoozy got the same feel.. I'm not crazy! yay! hahahaa This is strange and unfamiliar without being scary or disorienting. Love it.

This IS like Suspiro but better! I read that in an earlier post. It was the catalyst for my ordering of this one. The plum bursts at first and there's a sharp china berry pouf (daffodil?). However this mellows quickly. Drydown, the plum, orchid, and jasmine twine while the musk provides a nice platform. My nose still associates the top note as a jammy tart berry even though it's not in there. Love it. I can see the association w/ B&BW or Victoria's Secret. This is a bright youthful sweet/floral combo. However, this is more rewarding because you know this isn't some weird artificial chemical completely not derived from plants made to smell natural.
