    Hellfire

This starts off with a slight grapey note when away from my nose..? Hmm. Well that died down. This is a great light tobacco blend. Like naughty, refined men just escaped the back room of a hideaway, leaving remnants in the air of their presence. The musk and ambergris takes over in the drydown, with a buttery pepper background. Started off as sexy as perversion, but it fades quickly and morphs significantly. Not bad but could use a touch of white musk or something to amp it and keep it around. I would use this as a complimentary scent to Perversion, to add complexity to it.

    High-Strung Daisies

Much more sugar than expected if you're looking at the description. Fortunately I read reviews beforehand. This is lovely. sugary wild flower daisies and a touch of carnation. I don't get any pink pepper but that's good because pepper and me don't do well. Very girly!

The lab was nice enough to give me an extra frimp of this. Glad they did. It's going fast. Wet: first hit by butter and sugar with a slight almond back. Drydown: clove comes out strong with sassafras and rum. the butter and sugar has burned off leaving a deeply spicy blend that reminds me of an archipelago candle I used to own. Nice and aromatic. More atmospheric than foody to me.

    Pele

Very fresh and clean without be astringent or powdery. I just came from wading around in ocean water at sunrise and this is the perfect compliment to that. Soft, sweet, blooms. Smells like how you want to feel after leaving a salon... Renewed, glowing, and fresh to the world. Oh wait... this is much less expensive and way more guaranteed to please than a salon.

    Bread-and-Butter-Fly

Strange. Toasted rye wholegrain bread, black tea leaf, salty butter with heavy double cream and a pouf of sugar. I totally get marble or wholegrain rye out of this instead of sweet baked bread. Very interesting. Not something I really want to smell like, but interesting.

    Bengal

Warm, sweet, nutty, spicy. The skin musk smells a bit more like Egyptian musk when first applied. the spices are strong a first as well, Drydown, the spices and musk pouf mellows and smells a bit similar to O just spicier. Lovely

    Cathedral

In imp: sharp bitter cedar and resins. Wet: pure frankincense and myrrh swirl about in a big cloud Drydown: frankincense and cedar are still there. the cedar is stronger now. I smell something a bit piney. I like this more than I thought I would!

This has been on my list since I started buying imps but it's taken me this long to actually commit. Wet: Honey and red wine hit first. I can smell a swirl of wet floral in the background but, as usual, myrrh is waiting it out. Very womanly, very sweet. Drydown: red wine tends to amp on me.. it and the myrrh are dominant. the flowers and honey have subsided. nice blend. Not really bottle worthy, but a nice experience.

Oops.. completely overlooked the cardamom part. The rest of the notes start off strong and lovely, however cardamom took over with a peppery spicy bite. Too bad...

Hmm.. Wet: Got the same as many: lime sugar and pear but with a touch of tea. Drydown: same but I can smell a bit of mugwort. It's a pleasant scent overall. Light, sugary, green/white color impression.

    The King of Hearts

Wow. Blown away by the throw and longevity of this one. Sweet cherry, white and red musk with *glowing lavender* and baby smooth redwood. Even though redwood is listed at the top, it's not running the show. I got a frimp from the lab with my bottle of perversion.. this labbie is veerryy smart with their matching... King of Hearts has similar complexity and hits the nose identically with it's cascade of notes.. just different notes!

In imp, I smell something similar to the cologne mix they use in stuff like herbert west, lysander, wilde.. with some mandarin and honeydew. Wet: neroli & green mandarin with the musk are amping on me(typical wet dominant notes)with an undernote of wood and melon. I guess the wood note mixed with freesia, citrus and musk is giving me the bpal fougere thought. Drydown: Oooh this is where it's awesome. Waiting for the citrus to mellow is well worth it...Order: musks, slices of sweet melon, freesia, warm wood, and an echo of the citrus' former roar.

    Rosy Maple

Hmm. this is mostly candy floss and sweet lemon candy with vanilla on me. People mentioned sweet and acai berry smells. I'm jealous!

Thank you, dymphna! You're so sweet! Southern gothic... I didn't think of that. Totally! If I didn't stop before squiggling all my black ink tattoos it would have looked even more so.. Katharina? how come I didn't get this on my last order?!...urrrgh! Sudha Segara: almost ordered it. urgh again! Pele: just received it but only smelled so far. I'll test today, thanks! Black Dahlia is a great idea.. it's one of my favorites but I could never figure out the right occasion to wear it. I could find some silk dahlias online and make a hair clip for behind my ear.. hmmm. You've given me ideas!

Wet: it's a mandarin pumpkin sandwich! mango and sugar cane are there too. Drydown: gets more spicy and well-rounded. Ginger is well behaved and not turning it rancid or sharp. Lovely late summer early fall scent.

    Manila

Wet: Good throw! I can smell it as soon as it's applied, with my arm in a resting position, away from my face. Very tropical fruit smells rush towards and fill my nose. It radiates sun-baked tropical fruit and flowers. The banana and palm are strongest here. Drydown: the florals come out a bit stronger but the tropical fruits still compliment well. Nice!

    Carnaval Diabolique

Wet: Mmm.. smoky, lemony, heliotrope, musk. I wish I got more coconut and vanilla, but this is probably working the background. Drydown: sweeter, as the lemon has gotten juicier. I can smell a bit more vanilla and the opium smoke curls are delicious. I'd have to say... the whole CD collection has been knocking my socks off.

Thanks guys! I looked for antique lace a bit ago, but no one was swapping/selling. I agree that dorian does come to mind with wedding dresses, however didn't think about alice until now! If any night owls have scent suggestions, let me know!

Ok... so the previously posted dress didn't work out (they measured incorrectly. It was 2 sizes too small & they didn't have one in my size. I was heartbroken for a sec but I bounced right back, as usual Plus it would have made me sweat like a beast.. ). So... I got a new one! It fits like a glove, fortunately. More of a champagne gold color than the pic indicates...ivory lace over a champagne underlay and champagne bust lining. Pink roses and deep gold stems at the hem. I got those shoes and petticoat in the pic, too! What scent would match this wedding dress?

    Great Grey Witch

Wet: It has the lemony-ness of Dorian and the chamomile and lightness of Door, with the addition of powdery orris. Drydown: morphs~ the chamomile burns away and the lemon mellows. orris stays constant and I get that sugary cereal smell others have mentioned. Fuzzy silver sugar! Interesting and comforting.

    Aeronwen

I had to test this multiple times to make sure I got the same impression each day. Starts off smelling a bit like nice shampoo but I thought I was going nuts..nope. In imp and first wet: strong fig and tarragon with something that smells a bit like pomegranate... maybe the orange mixed with the herbs and redwood? Not getting any nutmeg at the moment. Smells like a drugstore shampoo I can't place.. maybe herbal essences? Not bad, just unexpected having looked over the ingredients. Drydown: the fig moved to the background and the orange/redwood pulled forward. I can smell the nutmeg if I take a looonnnggg whiff close to my wrist, but it has no significant throw. I like the dried down version much better, as the citrus and herbs have mellowed out however it's a fader, so deserves lots o layers.

    Lolita

Glittering: correct! This goes on lotus sweet at the beginning with orange blossom and lemon verbena running the show. As it settles I can detect more heliotrope and honeysuckle. Simple, straight-forward, sweet, sparkly. Nice blend I can see wearing on a regular basis during the warmer months.

    Perversion

Instant love. Ordered a bottle the day after I received the imp from the lab. Perfect mix of sweet sexy and dirty with lovely throw and longevity. Exactly as lab-described. The chardonnay is the keystone for me; otherwise it would be too fatty & feral for my taste. 10 out of 10!!

    Rangoon Riptide

Warm fruity and not too boozy! Rum works better with my chemistry than gin. Sweet pineapple and passion fruit are most prominent with sweet spicy rum. This is my favorite out of the bunch!

    Red Tide

Hmm. Cranberry's acting the same as pomegranate.. turns a little sour on me. I like it, but it doesn't like me back. Raspberry liquor is fighting through but the mint and cranberry is keeping this tart instead of fleshy.
