    Incubus

white + black musk & sage hit me first, when applied... nose away from wrist. Further into wet, there's definite strong caramel, sweet buttery and dark. Drydown: the caramel has burned off a little and nicotiana has come out. Smells more manly as the drydown furthers. Morphs hugely! Now it's mint, nicotiana, a touch of gray musk (yes I guess that's what you get when the black and white musks are mixed) and lingering caramel. Starts out sweet & inviting.. ends musky and doleful. Bizarre but fun!

I normally hate aquatics but this is WONDERFUL. Wet: sarsaparilla, rum, and aged patchouli with a touch of ocean mist hits me first. This is a very sweet aquatic with a light floral note similar to penny dreadful.. you can smell something sweet floral-y, but you can't put your finger on what it is. Drydown: the aquatic notes come out a bit more and the rum/sarsaparilla are smoother. The patchouli does a great job grounding the whole mix. LOVELY.

Chaos Theory VI: Recursive Self-Similarity v7

135: Received a frimp from azurephoenix, decanted from her bottle! (btw.. she has the awesomest labels!!) Vanilla and sweetpea with maybe a touch of cotton candy amping it. STRONG with tons of throw! Lasts pretty much all day!

Weow! Much more impressed by this than I thought I would be.. I was getting lost in sweet scents and got this to reel myself in. Smoky, earthy, with a soft red clay color perception. Beautiful grounded patchouli and sandalwood with great throw, not overpowering at all. The frankincense adds to the depth and smooths the edges of this otherwise potentially pungent combo. Wonderful. Debating a bottle.

    Zorya

Upon application, I smell something similar to a desert oils set origins put out years ago. I bought it convinced I would eventually like it, but didn't...too strong. It has that same carpet cleaner pouf that origins uses as a base for a lot of stuff. I think it's tuberose and vetivert. Wet: the carpet cleaner dies a bit and gives way to strong primrose, cereus and jasmine, with something similar to tuberose and aloe. Drydown: ouf. going to wash it off. not the way I want to start my birthday morning. ETA: 1/1/2013... apparently my chemistry has changed drastically. This smells amazing on me now! Sweet oriental spices and light musk with a touch of jasmine and nightblooming flowers.

    Horse Chestnut Honey

Warm nutty honey. The chestnut is strong! It smells similar to hazelnut and really amps the honey, preventing it from getting all powdery on my skin. Nice! I like this one just as much as Yellow Jessamine Honey.

    L'Examen de Minuit

Wet: strong myrrh, frankincense and then a touch of purple fruit. I don't get any lilac at first. Drydown: the resins have burned off a bit. I can smell dusty lilac and plum now. The rose is obscured by the frankincense still. Much better and complex.

    Follow Me Boy

First thing that hits me is jasmine and honey. I can't really tell what else is in here..maybe vanilla like others have suggested, but that's not really prominent to me. Very soft sweet jasmine. A great soothing sexy blend!

    To a Woman

I didn't like this when I first tested.. probably because my snooter was blown out from too many different scents. Glad I waited. This reminds me of Ruben's painting of Marchesa Brigida Spinola Doria. Gorgeous benzoin and rose otto with a smell of rosewood hit me first. The patchouli isn't strong but definitely lends a spiciness to it. The petitgrain definitely rounds this out with a woody green orange throw. Gorgeous and unique. Need a bottle, please!

    Bliss

First, I was surprised to see the color of the oil is totally transparent without tint. It smells like hot cocoa to me, not a milk chocolate bar. Nice, but unexpected. This will be great for layering!

    Azathoth

Wow. This is great! The vetivert and tangerine leap out at me as soon as applied. The saffron is actually notable as well. Drydown: cedar and black amber are more prominent, and the 3 other notes recline. Much more well balanced and seductive than I thought it would be!

    Thy Godfather's Present

Wet purple florals and herbs, aquatic notes, and juniper. Honestly to me, this smells very much like b&bw's Juniper Breeze. That's not a bad thing. It used to be one of my favorite scents when I was younger. Hanging on to this one.. very fresh, clean, herbal with color impression of aquatic blues and teals with a veil of lavender purple.

    Spicebush Swallowtail

This is tasty. Smells a bit like a candle shop in the fall or a country store. I get the sassafras and clove strongest, followed by wild plum. The brown sugar is making the whole thing bloom.

    Common Jezebel

Wet: vetivert and apricot with a touch of red currant. The vetivert is making the sweet notes smell a bit like bile.. Drydown: the vetivert has passed! It's a miracle! I can smell all the sweet notes in order, now. Vetivert hanging in the background giving it a woody green smoky note. Not bad when dry. Not my cup of tea but not bad.

    The Hesperides

omg.. I had trouble placing the smell when wet, but the 1st poster has an accurate association.. wet band-aids.. mixed with apple. It's very medicinal. However, drydown it disappears, but so does the rest of the scent, left with a faint apple smell. Weird!

    Shattered

Exactly as described. There was a pouf of grapefruit and lotus at first but after it settled, all notes are in order and rounded out. Sharp sweet fresh citrus, like I just busted open a sweet grapefruit and poured champagne into it. Mmmm

    Villain

This is the first scent that, on first whiff, I exclaimed that it exactly emotes the name. Musky lavender fougere with round citrus and lilac, when wet. The lime is more definable on the drydown. Strong, sinister and evil, but refined, smooth, and beguiling!

    Aureus

Wet: this smells exactly like amber resin chunks! Awesome. Finally a blend that smells purely of TRUE amber. Drydown: I smelled a golden floral note for a second, but that disappeared shortly. I smell a slight touch of cedar, not as strong as everyone else. This is pretty much straight up true amber. I love it but it doesn't have any lasting power!

    Brimstone

Ok,, definitely gritty and gray, but this is a little wet on me and smells a touch of damp stone and ashes, like someone dowsed a campfire with water. (oh man I saw someone else said the same thing just now!). There's wet dirt, and dr. pepper at the start too. As it dries, I smell wet gray stones and wet dirt with lingering black smoke. and Dr. pepper still...? Interesting.

very cologney wet. I was disappointed at first. after it dried down, it was AWESOME. english leather and tonka and a touch of parchment.

I'm starting to think the lab has psychic abilities, like some non-denominational Santa... or something stranger than that. Someone suggested this as a match for my wedding dress. (btw.. getting married this Friday) I replied woe-ing about how I had just placed an order and was upset I didn't notice this one! Weeeiiirrrddd.. Wet: the combo is making the apricot smell very fresh. I mistook it for peach before looking at the description! First impression without looking: white musk and peach with a touch of orange. Drydown: nice blend. reminds me of LaVague a bit. The notes stay the same. Not long lasting however.

    Sed Non Satiata

This morning's reviews are full of whoas. Wet: pure honey caramel with a touch of cognac and musk. I read mixed reviews of this and decided I had to order it for myself. This is a favorable outcome to say the least. The sexy scents love my skin, fortunately. Drydown: same with a touch of patchouli. I can tell the tuberose and geranium are lifting and rounding this out, but I can't say I directly identify them. this is a great blend!

    Faustus

Can't say I even remember seeing this one, so thanks for the frimp, lab! Wet: arm away from nose, I smell something rosey? This is strange.. Oh wait, there's violet in this being distorted by cinnamon. That's it. Drydown: this has to be the weirdest, most undefinable scent I've received yet. The mix of these 3 ingredients is so confusing that I can't identify any elements on a blind test! But seriously, it smells nice. A bit powdery, green, floral, and sweet. I balanced but powerful masculine blend. Men, go forth and confuse!

    Pain

Whoaow! Great frimp from the lab. I always looked at this one but never ordered it. Wet: pennyroyal is strong here, rooty, green and bittersweet. Drydown: the pennyroyal has burned off a bit leaving an effervescent minty lavender. Ironically pain is quite soothing! This could honestly be added to the Somnium set very easily.

    Bohun Upas

Whoa thanks for the best frimp I could have received out of rappaccini's garden, lab! First applied, I smell wine. Kinda more muscat than red. There's a big swirl of dark red opium, plus deep lush orchids & broad green leaves. Drydown: opium and a small amount of greenery and wine. Very languid and liquid. Sigh...
