    The Caterpillar

I smell mostly jasmine, a spike of carnation, and the brown moss, incense notes, and vetivert. The iris was around when it was wet, but quickly disappeared. I can tell I'll totally be feeling this some day, just not today.

    Titus Andronicus

This is great but it could be a touch more concentrated for impact. It reminds me of Haunted after the neroli burns off.

    Yorick

Yum. Awesome sweet dirt. This is the refined and drier version of Penny Dreadful! It starts out very moist and sweet, with linen and angel's trumpet underneath. Then blossoms into this amazing fresh-dirt-on-late-spring-morning wonderfulness. I don't use this often, but . Seriously. This smells like my walks through Victorian picnic-park graveyards with wonderful plant subspecies that I never knew existed.

    The Sluggard

Wet: dominant note is pear. Truly I can't smell much else (weird considering how strong gardenia is usually!) maybe a pouf of lavender but this is super sweet pear with a slight woody note underneath. Drydown: the gardenia popped out singularly for a second then melded nicely into the mix. The frankincense is a bit stronger, but it just translates to a drier pear, if I'm not thinking too hard about it. This is actually well balanced, clean, woody and fruity.

    Florence

Wet: patchouli? do I have the correct imp? Uhm.. yes. Wait a sec...my nose is off because of overloading. The indicator is that my coffee smells like chinese food. Ok wait.. there's the bright berry and spices with amber. I guess the patchouli thought was because of the berry and spice mix w/ amber? The iris is pretty and green as well. Drydown: something here reminds me of my little ponies. I think the berry took over more, that's why. Ok thankfully that's passing. It's a really lovely berry amber and I wish I could make out what spices are in here!

    Dragon's Hide

Wet: dragons blood, bright and strong, with very light leather and smoke note. Lovely, sexy, smoky, sultry dragon's blood. Drydown: I wish the leather and smoke hung around longer. It's just dragon's blood here with a ghost of leather.

    Halloween: New Orleans

Wet: smells exactly like some scent I used to buy from a mall chain.. Damn it if I can remember! There's a sharp rancid decaying sweetness (in a good way) and a touch of water reeds? The sweet olive and spanish moss are there. maybe it's the moss note making me think of rancid and water reeds. Drydown: mega-shifter. I agree with the other review that said carrot cake... but with a lemon wedge.

    Blue Pumpkin Floss

Wet: super spicy pumpkin, stick sweet from the blackberry juice note. This is uber spiced. Cinnamon overload! Drydown: the blackberry and pumpkin wane and I'm left with the same base as Pumpkin Latte minus the heavy cream.

    Himerus

Wet: rosewood, lilac, bergamont, and orchid. Sweet but manly. The rosewood masks the red musk, I guess contributing to the overall sweetneess and amping of the mix. Drydown: more sandalwood. Mix becomes drier and the juniper is more prominent (juniper is always super sweet when it 1st hits my skin). I mostly smell juniper and lilac here.

    Ignorance and Want

Wet: smells like fresh paint! I love that smell! I think it's mostly due to the carrot seed. The chamomile comes out for a second then runs away. Wormwood accord, hmm. I can't say I've smelled it anywhere outside an absinthe bottle. Drydown: nice dry warm rooty scent. If you like the smell of wood cabins tucked away in rural settings, this is the scent for you.

    A World of Fools

Exactly as described. The figgy pudding is really nice, the holly unoffensive. It's a nice sweet confectionery fig with atmospheric and complimentary holly.

    Ebenezer Scrooge

Mmm.. This one is my favorite so far. Wet: oakmoss and leather. There's a slight touch of tonka and cumin. Under a different name, this could easily be a sexy VILF or weenie scent. Waaaiiitt..I think if brown musk was added I'd be a WILF hit... Drydown: aahh. I see. Lack of musk equals dominant cumin and black pepper. It's still darn sexy. The tonka, as usual, is amping on me. The cumin is twining with vetivert, which is news to my nose. Very interesting. My nose is playing it along the same vibrations as anti-byronic hero.

The Second of the Three Spirits

Wet: 1st note that hits me is pine, swiftly followed by sweet spicy pastry like chestnuts and pears. Drydown: spiced pear and punch and a slight touch of holly. Surprised the pine subsided! The chestnuts are still strong, which is nice because in some blends they disappear on me.

    Beaver Moon 2010

Wet: holy strawberry! This is sugary sweet sticky candy bonbons strawberry. Drydown: a little more peach here but I'm totally missing the cheesecake note. The fruit and sticky glaze is overpowering any cheesiness. I might layer this with bread and butterfly.

    Egg Nog

Want.. to.. nom.. arm.. wait don't! Wet: heavy cream and brandy with a dash of nutmeg and a sweet eggy note. Smells exactly like egg nog! Drydown: same! I'm salivating. Need to get off the computer and forage for nog now. bye.

An Altar to Cold, Rigid, Dreadful Death

Very nice. This is dead black death in a bottle. The cedar is dry and unwelcoming.. The dust note is perfect! The frankincense provides a sense of somber spiritualism. This is great!

Christmas Eve in the Counting House

Wet: foggy for sure. I love the creaking wood note. It smells like an old house in a damp climate. The dying embers mixed with the fog note is translating to cigarette smoke? Drydown: this is very light. The cigarette smoke smell passed (whew) and it's mostly creaky wood and fog now. Love it.

    The Waltz of the Snowflakes

Yessss. This one is good. Wet: vanilla marzipan-ish snow with an atmospheric fir touch. There's a hint of bakery sweetness here. Drydown: more balanced between the evergreen and sweet notes. It's sweet, wonderful, festive.

    Marley's Ghost

Oooh! I like this. Fresh, crisp, metallic, touches of sweetness, and a bit foggy and refined too. This will be nice for summertime.

    Whoop

This smells much different than I expected! Wet: the sweet parts are there.. shimmering amber, honey, pumpkin pie, cranberry. Then the pine cone and bayberry starts to amp almost instantly, squashing the sweets instead of working harmoniously with them. Drydown: pine cone and bayberry with a touch of cranberry. I smell like a xmas dinner table centerpiece.... in july. I hope this works for others!

    Christmas Eve on the Moor

Wet: The grass and ivy are strong here, probably amping the ozone, stone and aquatic. Smells a bit men's cologne-ish. Drydown: ahh.. much nicer. The most of the fire I can capture is the smell of chimney smoke on wet stone. I definitely feel the stone amps much more here. The mix becomes saltier with puffs of grey moss bursting out. The smell is similar to parts of the coast about a 1/3 of a mile from my house but this mix is saltier. If you add seaweed and remove a touch of salt, it would be dead on (we have plenty of spots similar to moors in maine. Some equate the landscape to scotland...but it's just "coast" or "field" or "marsh" though. )

    The Last of the Spirits

I love black currant. I love myrrh. I mostly love vetivert. The 3 together is great. Very dark, sweet black currant with an overshadowing of myrrh and discomforting vetivert. Simple and great. Smells like like grim reaper cologne for sure. Add oppoponax, a touch of dirt, and black musk and I think this would be even better.. wait I think I have something like that.. this will be good for mixing!

    Woods in Winter

Oooh! I almost didn't order a decant of this one. Woe if I didn't.. this is the unexpected winner of the pack. I forgot juniper loves my skin. Wet: lovely sweet juniper, ice ozone note, dark evergreen note of hemlock that doesn't oppress the other notes. My brain and senses are floating around in bliss. Drydown: I feel like I'm taking a walk and stopping to huff in the local evergreen and plants along the ocean (coastal rocky outcrops is where the juniper is primarily found). Uh what am I doing inside? Oh right, I need to go to work. Crap.

    Winter-Time

Wet: wintergreen, sugar, hint of vanilla and maybe maple? and a touch of pine? The wintergreen is too strong here to evoke a snow feeling. There's a touch of ozone too. Drydown: it does smell like sweet snow! If I went outside right now and stuck my face in the freshly fallen snow, it would smell the same.

    Noche Buena

Whoa. Wet: plumeria, chrysanthemum, tiger lilies, dahlias, and azucenas (lilies). KA-POW! Knock your nose on it's ass heady flowers, mostly lilies. Drydown: the unexpected like of the 2010 Yules. The plumeria comes out more and the lilies are wonderful. Turns a little sweeter too! Only complaint is that it fades quickly.
