    The Twisted Oak Tree

This is the closest thing I've smelled to Carlin, which I love. Same non-pine non-flowery greenness. Old growth forest.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

Is there anything like Ded Moroz in the GC? Even a similarly deciduous forest, minus the snow, would be grand. I hardly dare to wear it because I love it so much.

    Ded Moroz

Based on Ded Moroz's reputation, I bought a bottle unsniffed. That turned out to be a very good decision. Others have said that it smells more like a forest thawing in late winter than a midwinter frozen landscape. To me it does smell like midwinter, but midwinter in a southern forest – chilly, but not frozen solid. Lots of moss, earth, and wood, with a touch of minty snow. It’s a beautiful scent that may be the next best thing to taking a hike through the Georgia mountains in January. These geographically evocative scents are the most impressive thing about BPAL to me. I keep thinking about that scene in Harold and Maude with the Smell-O-Ramas: “Subways, Perfume, Cigarettes, Cologne... Snow.”

    Smokestack

I just got frimped this and I LOVE it. It is the experience of standing on the El platform in Chicago on a cold November day, bottled. It smells like "city" to me. I'm going to put this on whenever I'm homesick.

Oops! I'm still learning my way around the lab. Thanks! P.S. - It starts off all misty and fresh on me, and then turns musky. Very nice.

Hello! I'm new here, and one of the first BPALs I've tried is Aeronwen, which appears to be (alas) LE. Is there a GC that's similar?
