    Feeding The Dead

Buttery popcorn in the imp! I can't bring myself to skin test, though - don't want to smell like that

A scent to connect to your higher self?

Incantation does it for me. It reminds me of being in church - the only good thing about being in church for me - that whole burning, smoky incense thing. Helps me to focus like nothing else can. Don't know if it would work for anyone else in the same way. I have quite a collection of TALs and I have to say that just smelling them all together is such a different experience than smelling a bunch of the bpal stuff together. Really, really lovely. Lighter and uplifting - maybe even joy-inviting. Good luck making that decision!

    Tristran

I was so looking forward to meeting Tristran - I'd been waiting for him for some time. When I first smelled him, it was love, love, love... and I could barely wait to let him caress my skin. But our romance was not to be. He came on very strong, though I can't say exactly what it was that I experienced so many hours ago (sorry!). I do remember thinking that he could go both ways. He did begin to change and changed quickly, and soon he smelled of a very familiar aftershave that I can't place, and shaving cream. Pleasant smells, but this freaked me out because I can't figure out why this scent is so familiar - it must be from my childhood. I'm left in a place where I'm not ready to accept him for who he is. Many hours later I am lamenting this, as he has turned smoky and incensy and is lovely and comforting. But until I figure out why he's so familiar, I can't do him. I do recommend him, though...

    Rakshasa

This first smelled only of roses - which disappointed me, as I am not a huge rose fan. It's a pleasant scent, I'm just not crazy about it. About an hour later, I began to be able to detect the sandalwood, and then a bit later I could finally smell the patchouli underneath. Very interesting combination, with the rose totally gone. Not much throw... Hours later now it has taken on a smokey, incensey smell that is lovely. Perfume oils never last this long on me! This is one to try in the scent locket. I will definitely wear this again, though I'm not sure I'd buy a bottle.

    Croquet

This was a frimp from the Lab - and I was so excited to get it. It has so many notes I looooooove - but something in here doesn't love me In the imp, I smell blissful loveliness - sweet and tart (not like the candy) fruitiness - such hope... but on my skin, instant soap (well, more like dishwasher detergent) and a very sharp note that I can't figure and do not care for. Then what I would call a chemical perfumey smell takes over. Poo. Hmmmm - I wonder how it would do it a scent locket...

    Satyr

hmmmm... I haven't read all the reviews, but did read a bunch. No one mentioned head shop (that I read)... but that's what this is on me. Unmistakeably at application and hours later - though it has softened a bit. I love masculine-oriented scents but this one doesn't quite do it for me. If it didn't have that association for me, would I like it? Most likely, I have to admit. But it reminds me too much of something else to want to smell like that.

    Namaste

In the imp: lemongrass and rose Wet: rose and jasmine come forward, lemongrass in the background Dry (hours later): smoky, incensy not much throw... I got a compliment on this shortly after I put it on... and my dh noticed (he hasn't noticed any of the others I've tried since becoming a member recently) - more importantly, I like it! I am not a rose fan, and thought that I hate jasmine - but, they make for an interesting complement to the other notes and I like the complexity of the scent, even though over time it completely simplifies. I like it at each stage. I am very scent intolerant - get headaches so easily - but this one is a winner for me. I've been wearing it all day with no issues, and even reapplied to one wrist so that I could write this review. Woo hoo!

    Squirting Cucumber

in the imp: very concentrated cucumber, very akin to cucumber soap I used many years ago (though much stronger and a bit more complex) - this is what I was expecting wet: a strong smell of detergent with cucumber in the background, maybe a bit aquatic dry: sweet and cucumber and still a bit of detergent oh my, not was I was hoping for. This does not smell at all natural on me

    Djinn

This is the very first I've tried. I was really looking forward to something smoky, but not one little bit on me. I'm not at all skilled in differentiating different notes - in the imp it was very sharp and what I think people refer to as metallic it immediately went to my sinuses and said "warning! warning!" and I should have listened then... after a few minutes it got overwhelmingly sweet and cloying, and then powdery/soapy but still with a sharpness or shrillness (seems contradictory but that's how I experienced it) the thing is, I kind of thought that it was a nice scent, but it just made my head ache
