    Velvet Tiki

In the bottle, it smells like creamy coconut and pineapple. I may get a hint of florals, but it's a tiny hint. On me, the florals really emerge, but most of all, the vanilla. This smells like a strong vanilla base with the other notes simply accenting. It's a delicious, foody vanilla with soft, sensual florals and a flirty, fruity touch. I loved this...til it dried completely. Over time, this just gets SWEETER and SWEETER. My interpretation was that this smelled just like sugar coated pineapple gummy candy. Good for some people maybe, but my teeth actually hurt every time I sniffed my wrist. Not to mention my head... Sadly, this just wasn't right for me.

    Velvet Clown

In the bottle, this smells like straight whiskey. Not a hint of sweetness at all! It literally smells like you cracked open a bottle of liquor. On me, the whiskey started mellowing out. Perhaps the cigar smoke coming out? The cotton candy note is the only other one I get. By the end, this smells like an odd combination of Hellcat and bubblegum on me. I love Hellcat, but bubblegum not so much. Extremely clown-like, but not for me!

    The Apple of Sodom

Not the fruity scent I expected. There is apple, but it's not juicy and fresh. Instead it's more like red apple peels, almost a bitter apple scent. I don't smell anything ashy or burnt. Instead, I think I get a touch of leather. Very unique scent, even by BPAL standards.

    The Lotus Tree

The Lotus Tree is a sweet, powdery floral reminiscent of LUSH's Silky Underwear. I agree with the bubblegum comparison- it's got a faint, pink, feminine sweetness about it. But it's not a "little girl" scent, it's very sexy and grown up. It's one of those versatile scents that is great for going out but also great for work. I love it!

    Kali

Good Goddess, I love Kali. In the imp, it was unremarkable. Just another floral blend. You can kind of smell a very rich, dark chocolate mixed in. On, each and every note blossoms out. Hibiscus is dominant to me over the other florals, with tulip and lotus coming next. Wine/tobacco is one of my favorite note combinations, and it doesn't fail here. Honey sweetens the dark chocolate and highlights the depth of the wine/tobacco. Balsam is quietly lingering the background, adding a touch of earthiness to combine the floral and foody notes. Overall, it's a sweet, complex floral. On my bottle list!

    Pothôn Mêtêr

I first must say this one did not smell much at all like I imagined. I wanted it to be a fruitier, sweeter version of Red Rose from the Unity set. It actually smells just like the Home Sweet Home Yankee Candle scent. I can smell the rose absolute, but I think it's the pink pepper/Balsam of Peru/cognac blending to cause the intense spicyness. I definitely do not get the caramel or berries. It was a surprising scent, but not a bad one. It's very comforting and good for cold, gray, lazy days in.

    Lovers in a Ricefield

As soon as I sniffed this one in the bottle, I had the suspicion that the plum blossom would overpower any hint of the other notes. On me, I was quite right. This smells a lot like Fruit Stripes gum to me, with a yeasty scent in the backdrop. Not a very flattering description; it does smell better than it sounds, but it's not for me. After a while, it smells a lot like fruity beer.

    Azathoth

In the imp: Whoa, saffron! Smells dirty...literally, like dirt. There are no florals listed, but this kind of reminds me of flowers at the end of summer, early fall. Fresh earth and wet, dead things. On me: It has that "sex" smell, but in a bad way. It smells stale, dirty with a very masculine background. Like a gross old guy in a bar. Nasty! This one is not for me.

    Horreur Sympathique

In the imp: Candyish, fruity wine. On me: The first time I wore this, I couldn't pick out any distinct notes. I liked it, but it seemed uninteresting. I wore it again today, and it is beautiful. It smells like sweet wine, old wood, smoke and a tiny hint of feminine perfume. It reminds me a lot of a really rowdy, somewhat supernatural bar. It's still hard to pick out notes, but there are a lot. They work really well together and create a strong visual every time I sniff it. I got lots of compliments! I think I'll be needing a bottle for sure.

    Hellcat

In the imp: Sweet, rich buttercream over slightly burnt (in a good way!) spiced cake On me: If there was such thing as buttercream flavored marshmallows (is there!? ), this would smell like buttercream flavored marshmallows, burnt over a campfire on a sweltering hot summer night. It is truly amazing how real the fire smells in this one. I don't get a boozy smell at any stage, but this scent is fiesty. Better for play than work. Absolutely need a bottle!

    O

In the imp: sweet, slighty fruity amber and vanilla On me: WHOA! Totally different! Cough syrup, some familiar woodsy type note, and men's cologne. It reminds me of an old man. I let it dry for a few minutes but no longer. I washed this one off, I had no patience. Obviously, this just doesn't work for me.

    Twilight

In the imp: Equally strong jasmine and honeysuckle. No hint of lavender. This actually smells wet. On me, wet: Exactly the same as in the imp at first, but the honeysuckle emerges more as it dries. On me, dry: Muted, perfect honeysuckle. Jasmine gives the honeysuckle depth. Still, not a bit of lavender! Or, it may be overpowered by the florals. This one started out wet smelling in the imp, and it ends smelling drier, sunnier. Which is so opposite of the name! I really, really like this one but I'm not sure it's quite me. I'm undecided on a bottle.

    Tiger Lily

In the bottle: Pure lily! On me, wet: Still pure lily...exactly like dewy, fresh cut lilies but much stronger On me, dry: The "green" aspect of the scent is mostly gone, replaced by a subdued but authentic lily scent. I don't get honey, but it turns a little incensey on me (as many do). The scent fades pretty quickly, and is rather one dimensional. I enjoy it, because I enjoy lily, but I'm unsure how often I would actually wear it.

    Vice

First post, first review! In the bottle: bitter, bitter chocolate and cherry. The cherry didn't seem artificial, but juicy. There is a little bit of a sharp, clean note in the background which is confusing. Is it the orange blossom peeking out? On me, wet: Cherry comes out more. Still juicy, and yummy. It reminded me of gummy candy. The chocolate is a little sweeter but not quite where I need it to be. The orange blossom is gone. On me, dry: Chocolate and cherry are even. No improvement on the sweetness. The scent is very light. Overall, this was not what I expected. I anticipated a sweet, rich chocolate scent and it truly was not. I could have lived without the orange blossom even though it isn't very pronounced. This also fades super quickly- an hour and it was all gone. And I applied liberally.
