Utrennyaya In the imp: mint tea! A fresh liquid mint with florals-and bizarrely, I smell camomile here? Wet on skin: here come the rose and violet! I can still smell the mint, but the flowers are coming out now. Dry on skin: mmm, this is lovely! A fresh, light floral scent with a hint of herbs and sandalwood- a minty sparkle, the cool powder of violet, and a crisp rose scent with a slight greenness. This is a very refreshing and soft scent that brings to mind springtime and mornings where the grass and flowers are covered in dewdrops-it's a moist and shimmering scent. After a while: it now reminds me of a happier, lighter Ephemera, without the dusty and old fashioned aspect that scent had-this one is a lot more youthful. This is a gorgeous light herbal-floral scent with a lovely violet note and rose, with other green herbal and floral scents underneath. This scent gently shimmers like the light of early morning through soft mists. Verdict: this is probably my favourite of the Zoryas. This is Ephemera's younger, cheerier sister. A fresh, moist, soft blend of gentle florals and green herbs, prominently violet and rose with mint and sandalwood. This really befits the image of the morning star-this scent evokes dewy mornings, cool and fresh with the scent of spring and a sense of youth and the optimistic beginning of a new day. I love this and may get a bottle for springtime.

Queen of Spades In the imp: mmm, smells like a bramble patch. Blackberries and green scents of the early autumn with deep plum. Wet on skin: this is a lovely tart berry scent, with something green and fresh, and something dark and smoky. Dry on skin: wow. This is a gorgeous scent…I can smell the plum here with tangy blackberries and dark resins both sweet and smoky, a little hint of floral, something slightly green, and a bit woody. This is a delightful scent, complex and yet well blended, and perfect for autumn, I think. It's a rich, sweet and full bodied fruity scent enhanced beautifully by the incense notes. After a while: this stays very consistent-if anything, the fruit notes strengthen, sweeten, and become fuller and juicier. The amber and myrrh add a lovely, darkly sweet backdrop to the blackberry and plum, and yet this isn't cloying in the slightest thanks to the slight tartness of the blackberry. It's a very mature fruit scent. Verdict: this is another well-blended and unique 'playing card' scent. Rich and juicy dark fruits resting on a background of soft resins and woods, with a hint of green and floral flitting through every now and then. The scent reminds me of the bramble patches in autumn, mixed with succulent plum and sweet resins. This is one of the most dignified and sophisticated, grown up BPAL fruit scents-truly fitting for a queen. I'm so glad I managed to get an imp of this rare scent, as this will be wonderful to wear during autumn.

Gypsy Queen In the imp: fruity rose with a hint of candied sweetness. It has a similar fruity sticky incense smell to Cairo, I think, but more floral. Wet on skin: oooh, Floral, fruity, and sticky, smoky incense resins… Dry on skin: this is lovely! Rose and carnation with effervescent candied citrus notes, and smoky yet very sweet incense. This reminds me slightly of the more floral joss sticks I have smelt, though it's not cloying or artificial. I can't really smell the candle smoke yet though I can smell smoke here, but more like incense vapours, and also has a powdery scent which is very pleasant. It does remind me slightly of a more sugary version of Baghdad as well-I'm wondering if there's sandalwood here as well? I can smell the amber musk underneath it all…and that amber-carnation mix brings to mind Brisingamen. It's smoky, sweet and mystical, very feminine and alluring. Fabulous. After a while: yup, this really is similar to Baghdad, it has that same rose-incense-powder vibe, but this one is slightly different, and I can make out a hint of candle smoke clinging to my skin mingled with the floral fruity incense and musk. Very entrancing and I love the way this has a feeling of being heady and heavy without being overly so, it's very soft on the skin. This is a 'magenta' scent to me-a deep pink mixed with purple with flashes of gold. Verdict: another impressive CN scent. This is a wonderful blend of sweet fruity resin scents with rich florals and a smoky-powdery scent of incense and musk. It's exotic, womanly and enticing, yet with a deceptive sugared sweetness covering a mysterious smoked background-this brings to mind the sweet candy floss scents of the fair wafting into a dark, heavily perfumed tent where a mysterious gypsy woman gazes ominously into her crystal ball. It also reminds me of a sweeter, lighter Baghdad, as well as hints of Cairo and Brisingamen, but it is also delightfully different from them. I'm glad I have a bottle of this beautiful scent.

Fruit Moon In the imp: FRUIT! Well, duh! But this is uber-fruit! I smell a cocktail of tropical fruit juice, pear, kiwi, mango, currants, peach and though I don't see it listed-melon! Wet on skin: still fruity! I can now smell the berries, papaya and guava! It's amazingly authentic smelling, like spilling juice on your wrist! Dry on skin: a veritable explosion of sheer fruitiness, lively and colourful, juicy and vibrant. It brings to mind this old French song I used to know about fruit salad. Yes that's right. Salade de fruit, jolie jolie, jolie…that's how it goes. This really is the ultimate fruit salad scent-I can smell apples, pears, peaches, mangoes, guavas, berries, kiwis, citrus fruits, plums, apricots, papaya, ripe figs, pomegranates, cherries, and melon. It's so complex and multi faceted, not flat at all-it has so many fruity dimensions. After a while: now it reminds me of Mi-Go but with more fruit. There's also a non-fruity note I can make out here, almost a soft floral-this could be the lunar oil scent. This particular blend of lunar oils, whatever they are, is gorgeous. Verdict: this is the epitome of fruit scents. The total antithesis of the calorie laden, super-sweetened, overindulgent (but still delicious) Gluttony-Fruit Moon is filled with health and vitality. It's bright, sunny and bouncy, filled with an uplifting and very genuine smelling blend of fruits which is never flat or bland or artificial smelling, and the drydown is a smooth sweet fruit scent with just a hint of something lunar. I love it and I think this will be fantastic for summer.

Numb In the imp: Yog-Sothoth-lite! A cooler, lighter, more feminine YS with violet. Wet on skin: reminds me of that 'familiar' soapy scent I got with YS. Dry on skin: I like this. It reminds me of clean laundry-it has a certain soapy, powdery feel to it, but it's no bad thing. It has violets and other florals I cannot quite place, and also aquatic notes and ozone. It is a cool scent, indeed, but not icy cold. It's lighter, more floral and more powdery than YS but is on a similar vein. It has what I call a 'fizzy' ozone feel to it, and also a cool airiness that reminds me of air conditioning, for some reason. But, paradoxically, it also has a warmth to it, reminiscent of freshly tumble dried clothes. After a while: white musk? I think there's white musk in here, one of the non-sweet, airy, clear varieties. Also getting hints of citrus as well, amongst the ozone and powdery florals. Verdict: this is an unusual scent. To me, this is Yog Sothoth's younger, lighter sister. It has ozone, violets and other flowers, possibly something aquatic and cool, some powder, and probably a white musk. It reminds me of a perfume I smelt somewhere, or maybe a kind of soap or washing powder. It has a 'coolness' to it, but it's not ice cold. Now, Tulzscha, that was COLD. It smelt freezing cold, and even felt cold on my skin-and I tried it on during a heatwave. Numb doesn't have that same chill-in fact it even has a powdery warmth like washed clothes drying in the sun or fresh from the tumble dryer. It's a nice and intriguing scent, but not really my thing. I'm glad I didn't get a bottle, but I think I'll keep the imp.

Twilight In the imp: lavender and jasmine. Very nice. Wet on skin: lots and lots of lavender. Dry on skin: mainly lavender but the jasmine and honeysuckle come out more now. It's light yet heady and deep at the same time. like a fragrant summer evening, the purple light of twilight and the scent of night blossoms. Lovely. After a while: the lavender fades, leaving the other florals behind. There's a slight greenish smell here that reminds me of celery, or the reaction I tend to get with gardenia. It's not too bad, but unexpected and a bit distracting. It's a light, clean scent now. Verdict: this is a nice, simple scent, very evocative of twilight. I really like the just dried stage-with the deep lavender and jasmine. I'm not so keen on the drydown, it has a distracting sharp green scent that clashes a bit with the original floral scent. I do like it, and I do think it would make a good night time scent, but I prefer Paris and Sophia as my lavender scents.

Bengal In the imp: oh my goodness. Chai. Sweet cinnamon pastries. Gingerbread. I'm in spice heaven!! Wet on skin: honeyed spice! Yummy yum yum… Dry on skin: mmmmmm. Spicy honey, chai tea, faint whiffs of pepper and ginger, cinnamon bark, cloves and sweet skin musk. This is so delightful! The honey's stronger than I expected but that's no bad thing because I love honey, and the spices are really nicely balanced in this. It's sweet, warm, comforting and just plain wonderful. After a while: this stays really consistent on me…it's still a fabulous mix of sweet spices with a generous dollop of honey, and just the barest hint of musk giving this a nice soft background. I want to eat myself, I smell so yummy…and I have to say, the cinnamon here is divine. Verdict: wow, this really did exceed expectations. I thought Three Witches was my holy grail of BPAL spice scents-but this one might dethrone those wily witches! This is a perfectly blended spicy scent…it reminds me of chai tea, desserts and spice markets simultaneously, all the spices in here are nicely balanced and sweetened with a twist of honey and a smooth musk base. A fantastic and well crafted scent, ever so delectable, this one will be perfect for the colder months, and I now feel compelled to gnaw on my wrist. I need a big bottle of this!

Dorian In the imp: ohhh. I can see why people love this. It smells so nice! Vanilla tea and sweet musk! Wet on skin: yummy! The tea's coming out more…still sweet musk and vanilla in there. I think I can also smell lavender? Dry on skin: this is delicious. So wonderful…I love the white musk in this, it's velvety soft, and ever so delectable, and the vanilla enhances that and adds a gorgeous sweetness. The tea in here is noticeable but not too sharp, it adds a nice twist without being too tangy. I can also smell other things in here like lavender and moss, but I'm not sure if that's my nose being weird or what. Nevertheless, I really adore this. After a while: whoa, this smells like pure vanilla tea with milk now! Vanilla tea is one of my favourite hot drinks and this smells just like the real deal, but there's that beautiful musk scent just making it even better. Verdict: now I see the reason behind the fanaticism surrounding this scent-it really does live up to the hype. This is a magnificent mix of soft musk and vanilla with a hint of tea. It's soft and smooth, and the vanilla in here is just perfect-it's sweet and warm, and the musk is just amazing. And the drydown is the truly delectable scent of a cup of real vanilla tea with sugar and milk, with the musk hanging in there. I now know why people go wild over this-it's definitely one of the classic BPAL vanilla-musk blends that Beth does so well, and deservedly so. I see a big bottle of this on the horizon!

Juke Joint In the imp: mmm, boozy sweet mint. This reminds me of a cocktail I drank on my 18th birthday! I'm hoping the booze note in this behaves itself. Wet on skin: yay, the booze isn't being evil on me! This is lovely! Dry on skin: wow! This is an unexpected surprise-I really, really like this even though it has a bourbon note! It's minty but not overly so, there's the bourbon which is prominent-in a good way, it's not screaming on my skin, and the sugar is there too. As I said before, this blend reminds me so much of my 18th birthday…or was it my end of exams celebrations? Whatever it was, I remember drinking a cocktail with a strong spirit (can't remember what) poured over ice with brown sugar and mint. It was either a mojito or a mint julep. It was delicious…and this scent is too. After a while: I love the deep sweetness this has. Like brown sugar and a shot of bourbon. Maybe amber too, strangely enough. It still has it's minty note to it, but isn't blatantly mint scented-everything's so nicely balanced here. This scent is laid back and makes me feel good inside. I really like the drydown after a few hours…a sweet, slightly resin like scent which is very enjoyable. Verdict: ever since my brush with Hellcat's rum, I've given BPAL strong booze scents a wide berth. Mild booze like wine and cider I can cope with, but I decided to avoid anything with rum, brandy, vodka and bourbon…until now. This has bourbon, and I love it. the booze in here doesn’t amp up to the nth degree-it's very pleasant and gives the scent character. I love the sweetness from the sugar and the light mint dancing on top. This reminds me of a celebratory cocktail I had once, it smells so genuine…and the sweet smooth sugary drydown is very nice.

Nyx In the imp: rose, with dark, resinous myrrh. Wet on skin: fresh rose with myrrh. Dry on skin: a bittersweet floral scent. Now the jasmine comes out. It's a soft, full floral scent with a dark undercurrent of myrrh. A bit sharp, resinous, darkly sweet and mysterious. It's more ethereal than Wicked. After a while: oh dear, this is having the dreaded 'burnt sawdust and celery' reaction that I got with Black Lotus. Maybe it's the myrrh? I'm not sure because most myrrh scents don't do this. Maybe combined with another note it does? However, in here, it's not too unpleasant, thanks to the rose. It does go after about two hours or so. Verdict: an interesting scent, its bittersweet and dark, quite smoky, with light florals adding an ethereal and feminine touch. It seemed very promising in the beginning but then I got a strange skin reaction that made it smell burnt, though not too unpleasantly. This does actually go after a while though before smelling nice again. I actually prefer Wicked out of the two rose-jasmine-myrrh scents, but I do prefer Nuit as my night-floral-incense scent.

Verdandi In the imp: herby apple. Green apple, with more 'greenness' thanks to the herbs. Wet on skin: mmm, sharp crisp herbs…and there's a lovely sweetness surfacing. Dry on skin: this is a very interesting scent. The herbs in here are quite sharp and fresh, and remind me very much of the Buck Moon herbal blend. And there's the apple, sweetened and made richer by a deep amber scent. Something about this reminds me of a fresh autumn day…I think it's those cool herbs coupled with the apple. It's an unusual scent but very nice. After a while: this gets better and better. This now smells like apples covered with honey or brown sugar. That's the amber, but here it smells like sweet rich honey and brown sugar. There's still a herbal hint in the background. This is gorgeous! Verdict: this is a wonderful scent which makes me think of autumn. It first has that same scent of crisp forest herbs that Buck Moon has, but over time, a delightful scent of honeyed, sugared apples come through-sweet apples and rich amber. this is a lovely scent to wear on those autumn days as it has a freshness that makes me think of windy autumn days, underscored by a sweet fruity warmth. An unexpectedly delicious scent. I loved Skuld and this is another Norn scent that I have fallen for. Now I'd like to try Urd!

Hod In the imp: carnation! A light, but very true carnation scent, maybe with cloves. It has a creamy, sweet quality to it. Wet on skin: omg I swear it smells like Lush Potion… Dry on skin: no more Potion, but something equally lovely has come out here. This is a very soft, milky, sweet and mildly spiced scent, with carnation and/or cloves. I think there may be a spicy sandalwood here but I'm not sure, but I do get something else here. However, it doesn't smell like Morocco at all…in fact, something about this scent reminds me of warm milk. It's like a warm, sweet milky drink at bedtime, it has that comforting sense of creaminess to it. Like boiled milk with a bit of spice and carnations floating on top! It's very soothing and quiet. After a while: still warm milk with spice. Possibly vanilla in this, maybe a sugar note? Maybe cinnamon too? it makes me think of very milky, mild chai tea, or a hot chocolate malt drink. (on the theme of hot milk…I'm tempted to layer this with Lush's Hot Milk scent-not surprisingly, I'd name the combination 'Hod Milk' (groan!)) Verdict: this to me, is my perfect warm milk scent. I didn't like Milk Moon's warm milk scent-to me it smelt a bit rancid. But this I do like this…like sweet boiled milk, like the kind of hot drink taken before bedtime. It's calming, gentle, creamy and sweet, with a nice spicy/carnation aspect to it. This is a very pleasant scent.

I haven't tried it, but I think Scarecrow seems to match the description. and the Lion, which to me smells like spiced iced tea on a sunny day.

If you look at Macha's review for Alone (yaaaaay a Demon in my ReView!! ) you'll see her design for the label. Truly gorgeous.

The Caterpillar smells like the BNever store in Covent Garden, with wafts of Lush coming in from nearby. -

Not that I can think of but the drydown of Caterpillar reminds me of Smargadine-or Tramp if you prefer but it's more Smargadine on me. There's wafts of Love and Ladyboy and Dear John (or is it Dirty?) and Om too. But that's my skin being weird in a nice way. To me, Caterpillar is Covent Garden as a whole really! -
Naked Singularity Thanks to Andromedii I finally get to sample this rarity! In the imp: a deep, resinous, incensy musk. Reminds me of exotic perfume from a Middle Eastern bazaar, it's lovely! Wet on skin: I think there's frankincense in this, it's got that wonderful clear resin smell to it. There may also be some herbs too? Maybe thyme or sage? And possibly musk. Dry on skin: mmm this is gorgeous. It reminds me a bit of Corazon without the mango and amber so I'm thinking there may be sage or lavender, or something herbal in this, as well as musk-maybe a dark musk? It's not animalistic but it is rich and deep, but not obvious. It's also got this wonderful spicy incense scent, a cross between church or temple incense and oriental perfume-it reminds me slightly of Djinn. There must be frankincense and myrrh here, and possibly some pepper. This is fantastic stuff. After a while: there's a slight 'burnt wood' scent here that I got with some myrrh/sandalwood/incense scents, in moderation this adds an interesting twist to a scent, in excess it becomes too much. In here it's in moderation and adds atmosphere-in fact it seems to fit in nicely with the general resinous/spicy scent this has. This reminds me slightly of Cairo's incense scent but with none of that blend's sweet fruitiness, and with Djinn-like dark smouldering spices and herbal smoke in its place, and with a barely there undercurrent of a deep musk. After a short while the burnt scent disappears, leaving a well balanced smooth dark resin scent, with possibly some wood notes. It's quite masculine but not off putting. It now reminds me of Nyarlahotep's incense but without the ozone. And then after a few hours, the drydown is almost identical to King of Clubs!!! I think it even has leather and moss just like KoC did...this is delicious! Verdict: as a physics nerd I've been looking forward to trying this, and it really lives up to it's expectations. I get none of the sourness (thank goodness) or the nutty smell that others have mentioned, but I do get a fascinating mix of resins, smouldering woods, spices, herbs and possibly some musk too. It's an exotic blend, like something you'd smell in some ancient temple or secluded tent in a desert bazaar. It's like Djinn's smoky incense meets Corazon's herbs at the beginning, then it comes into it's own and ends with a drydown very similar to King of Clubs. The scent is dark and mysterious, like a black hole…ooooh. This is definitely something I will wear when studying astrophysics at university-and since it's a unisex scent, it's certainly something I'd love one of the cute guys who studies with me to smell like!!! I know it's still a prototype but I really hope this gets released some day because it's pretty damn wonderful!

Lustration, the Panacea blend, is pure, unadulterated, citrus overload. It's like squeezed lemon juice. With orange and lime, but so much LEMON.

I dunno, but I do know that The Caterpillar smells, to me, EXACTLY like walking into a BNever store. It's got hints of many of the BNever scents in it. -
Ace of Wands In the imp: clear red dragon's blood with almond and something else-maybe a spice or floral? Carnation maybe? Wet on skin: dragon's blood with something sweet, perhaps spicy as well. Dry on skin: this is nice-it's dragon's blood with a sweet floral with spice, which I think is carnation? DB sometimes tends to smell slightly floral, especially if mixed with a floral scent. Whatever it is, I like it. It's a very pink-red scent to me, with pink spiced carnation and red fruity resinous-ness of DB. After a while: still carnation and dragon's blood. And possibly a bit of cloves? Carnation tends to smell like cloves anyway, but maybe also cinnamon? It's not obviously spicy though. It's intriguing, but the one scent I'm definitely sure of is the DB. In here, it now smells juicy and fruity-maybe there's something fruity here too? It seems like it. It's also a warm scent. Not hot, but with a slight hint of spice that's not obvious but lends sweet warmth. As I smell this, I do get something fruity. Cherries, maybe. Or even red musk? that sometimes has a fruity, cherry like scent which I love. That and dragon's blood. And maybe a sweet citrus-not tangy at all here, but sweet citrus. Verdict: this is another intriguing tarot scent. Wands is the suit of fire, and clearly the red scent of dragon's blood seems to indicate this. However, this is also a pleasant, yet very red, floral-sweet with a bit of spice with perhaps some red musk too. I'm thinking carnation is in this. It's a lovely 'pink-orange' warmth that goes nicely with the slightly fruity and red scent of the dragon's blood. A beneficent flame, the positive energy that fire can be when it isn't destructive. There may be spices and citrus, or something fruity, here as well. And maybe musk as well. It's so baffling working out the notes in here, but it reminds me somewhat of the enigmatic fiery floral blend that was Fire Eater, although they are both different scents. A fascinating scent to get to know.

Ace of Pentacles In the imp: almonds, with a deep earthy note? With a bit of moss? Wet on skin: wait a minute, it's trees I smell here. Pine, actually. Yup, this is strong pine with light almond and something deep and dirty-and I mean dirty as in soil and earth, not unclean dirt. Dry on skin: pine pine pine! Lots of strong piercing pine here with moss in the background. there's also a dirty note that makes me think of dark forest earth…not sure what it is though, maybe patchouli or vetiver? It's very earthy, this fragrance. After a while: now this fragrance smells of pine, moss and earth, and makes me think of the roots of a great pine tree in a mysterious forest. You can smell the sap, the moss on its bark, and the soil around it. It's deep and shadowy with only a few spots of light filtering through it's dark green needles. Verdict: this is one of the earthiest scents I've tried-not surprising since the pentacles are related to earth anyway. This is a vivid scent experience-it brings to mind strong visuals of trees, forests, deep soil. It has pine, moss and something that brings to mind rich dark loam, roots, bark…I'm not sure if I'd wear it as perfume, it seems more of a ritual oil-I think it would be great for meditation as it has a grounding, relaxing effect.

Judgement In the imp: patchouli? I think there's patchouli in here, and something resinous and/or woody. Wet on skin: mmm, this smells good. A really nice blend of deep resins and something a bit wine-like. Dry on skin: whoa. I'm not sure what's in here, but it's very intriguing. It seems resinous, sweet, deep, dark, woody? I think there's wine here too. There's a note here that smells like good sweet wine. I think there are some incense/resin notes too. Maybe even patchouli, or a wood of some sort, underneath it all? Very enigmatic but very nice too. After a while: over time, the wine/grape note becomes more apparent, surrounded by the patchouli and resins/woods. It's a nice sweet grape scent with depth. There's also a scent in here that reminds me somewhat of red musk. It's a fruity, deep richness that could be a musk of sorts and reminds me a bit of Sin, though that could also mean there's myrrh here with the patchouli. I like that! As this dries, I'm getting a lovely fruity red musk scent. Yum, I love red musk! Verdict: this is a pleasant, yet intriguing scent. It reminds me of deep sweet red wine framed by resins and patchouli. There's something about it that reminds me of Sin, but with a fruity aspect instead of the cinnamon, and I'm sure it has a red musk scent to it as well, which shows up more over time. It's a very rich sweet fragrance with gorgeous depth and richness, I wouldn't mind getting hold of some more!

Oberon In the imp: tangy, yet dark. Must be the bergamot and juniper, with the patchouli in the background. Wet on skin: fizzy and tangy! It's a very fresh, almost ozone like citrus, with a hint of something that could be orchid, with that velvety white musk scent which I like. Dry on skin: mmm, this is quite nice! The bergamot and juniper make this scent very fresh and cool, the patchouli's in the background, adding depth to the scent, orchid smoothes it out, and the musk here is airy and sparkling. It's an interesting blend that is shimmering and effervescent, and unisex too. Something about this scent reminds me of rain showers. After a while: why is it that most ozone-citrus blends eventually turn to washing powder on me? Storm Moon did that to me in a big way, this one doesn't have the same 'yeesh! detergent!' reaction I had with SM, but I'm getting a scent reminiscent of clean laundry or lemon washing up liquid. It smells soapy. It's not bad, but not what I expected-I was hoping for more of a patchouli-musk scent. Verdict: at first, this is a pleasant, fresh, bright scent. Sparkling and tangy, it has citrus-fruit notes and a gentle musk with an undertone of patchouli. It reminds me of springtime, of sudden summer showers-it has an ozone-like quality to it that makes me think of refreshing showers of rain on a warm day. It seems like a good everyday scent, almost like a citrus cologne scent, and it's certainly unisex-I think this will smell just as good on a man as it does on me. I'm not sure it's a 'me' scent-and after a while it starts to smell a bit like washing up liquid. So, for now I shall swap it, and maybe try it again another time because I think this will be one of those scents that smells better in spring and summer. Edit: I just thought I'd add that the drydown after a few hours is lovely! It's a soft, clean musk scent. Like a clean laundry scent with a hint of powdery musk. Very nice! This is my favourite part of the scent so far.

Ephemera In the imp: soft, slightly soapy florals. I can make out the camomile and violet, and maybe the lilies. Wet on skin: camomile! Lots of camomile, it smells almost like camomile tea with violets and a soft background of other nondescript flowers. Dry on skin: now this gets interesting. The camomile and violet are still there, but I think I can make out the other flowers. I think I'm getting a dry, crisp rose-almost a Victorian rose scent, which grows stronger, and little bit of geranium, and maybe just a faint hint of the autumn leaves-there's definitely some hint of a dry leaf/petal scent here. Very intriguing, it's got many dimensions to it. After a while: oooh, rose! The rose in this strengthens as time passes. It's a dry, dusty rose scent-it seems mixed with dry leaves, faded with age, with violet, lilies and camomile lingering. It seems wistful and nostalgic a scent, hinting at a time long ago, a melancholy memory. Verdict: this is a very enigmatic scent. I love the way BPAL floral scents are usually very multifaceted as opposed to generically one dimensional-this one is an example of that. It's a dry, faded, dusty floral, a crisp Victorian rose with camomile and violet and dried leaves, with an old fashioned feel to it-but that's not a bad thing at all. It's a very evocative scent, it seems emotional, nostalgic, even sorrowful. It's beautifully crafted and another example of how Beth can create art and poetry with fragrance. Having said that, I'm not sure it's me, although I do like it and found it a very interesting experience to wear.

Corazon In the imp: juicy and tangy mango musk, with green sage. Wet on skin: ooh, the sage really comes out now! It adds a deep green herbal scent to the red musky scent. The lavender's there too. Dry on skin: this is really nice! It's mainly deep green-smelling sage and lavender, but I can also make out a bit of sweet amber, mango and red musk underneath. It's a mellow, herbal scent, with hints of fruity juiciness, and I'm hoping the wonderful musk makes more of an appearance on drydown! After a while: oh yeah, as the scent dries down, the mango comes out, wet and juicy, succulent and ripe. I think the amber enhances the sweetness and 'golden-ness' of the mango note. I can't really make out the musk here, but it's in the background, and the sage and lavender are still there, though not as strong. After about an hour, the notes balance each other out nicely. The tangy sweetness of the mango with the herbal notes mingle nicely with the amber and musk. It's delicious! Verdict: this is a gorgeous, rich scent, which is an interesting mix of fruity, herbal, sweet and musky. The mango in here is lovely-it smells deliciously ripe, it's sweetness enhanced by amber. Sage and lavender add a nice herbal touch, the sage in here adding a nice green aspect. The lovely red musk is in the background, in here it's subtle, but it enhances the overall scent wonderfully. I love this fragrance and will cherish the imp I have of it.
