  1. It's a very cool scent. It starts out with pine and maybe a little mint giving that cool sensation and cherry blossoms. The mint/pine almost disappears after it dries down. It's now mostly cherry blossom/floral scent that I'm guessing is the plum blossoms and wisteria. I have a half bottle, and I think that will be enough for me. If you love cherry blossoms and the initial pine/mint smell, then you will probably love this. I think it's more floral than anything, but I really enjoyed the initial burst of pine and coolness.

    Bergelmir

I'm not the best at reviews, but since there's only just one so far I'll give it a go! I just read Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology earlier this year, so I was immediately interested just because of the name. In the bottle, it smelled very strong.. almost menthol like (which I guess is the spruce and sleet), and I wasn't sure how I was going to like it. I could also smell lavender and a faint berry smell. Wet, it was pretty similar. The lavender starts to come out a little more. I wish I got more lavender in this. It doesn't seem to stick around for long, but I guess it does evoke the idea of frozen lavender that might only peak out if the sun hits it and melts it a little. Once it dries down, I can smell the spruce, but it really starts to smell like berries (almost like cranberry, but not) that I guess is the yew berry. I never really get any smoke. I really like this. All winter, I was wishing for the perfect iced winter berry and evergreen scent, and when I put this on today I knew I had found it. I'm glad I got a bottle.

    Eos

Eos I tried this one on without checking to see what notes were in it first. I am getting all florals today it seems. This is the third floral I've tried out of my pile of new things to try. In the imp: florals, not sure which ones except for jasmine Wet: Jasmine, jasmine, jasmine Dry: Hi, jasmine, hi. I have come to the conclusion that the reason I hate jasmine is that I amp it so strongly. It's just super strong on me and I do not like the way it smells. It almost leaves a numb kind of feeling in my nose and the back on my throat when I smell it, along with a headache. I never get any of the other notes in Eos (heh, I finally checked to see what it was supposed to be). Buttercups are one of the few florals that I like (more of a childhood memory thing, I suppose), but I do not smell them here. This is definitely one for jasmine lovers. I had to go wash it off though.

    Pele

Pele In the imp: overwhelmingly floral (I think I smell jasmine) Wet: I can sort of smell the Hawaiian white ginger now because I had a Hawaiian ginger perfume in high school and this smells similar to it at first. It's still very floral. I do think there's jasmine or something similar to it in here. Me and jasmine do not get along well. Dry: Lush white flowers and very little ginger. Too floral for me. Also, it gets a bit soapy on me after the initial dry down. I think this would be very light and pretty on someone who likes floral scents. I amp most florals to the point that they just overwhelm everything and give me a headache. Very feminine, but not for me.

    Opium Poppy

Opium Poppy In imp: Strong, wet floral scent Wet: Floral soap -- there is a lot of throw 10 minutes later: Floral soap and smoke/incense 20+ minutes later: Doesn't smell as much like soap now. It's more of a spicy floral. It's still pretty strong. I don't really like this, but I'm not a big fan of florals. I don't think I've ever had any perfumes with poppy in it before so I'm going to assume that is what the floral smell is. It's a really strong perfume. Kind of headache inducing. It doesn't smell bad, just not my thing. I do think it smells better after it has had a chance to dry down. It loses the soapy, powdery scent and evolves into a nice spicy/incense and smoke smell along with the floral. I don't like to smell like flowers though, so not a keeper for me.

    Lust

The bottle I'm reviewing has been aged for about 3 years. I bought it to layer with Snake Oil (the combo is delicious), and for some reason it got lost in the back of my perfume box and I just discovered it again today while looking for something to christen my clocket with. I chose this. Lust is a very heavy, heady scent. It smells slightly sweet, but overall it's very spicy and musky. This does remind me a bit of Smut. I was torn between Smut and this one, but I chose this one because it seemed to have more depth. It's a darker scent than Smut to be sure, but they do feel related. Lust is dark and sexy with a hint of sweetness. This is a very well blended oil to me, like none of the notes stand out over the others too much. You know they are all in there though by the overall impression that you get when you smell it, if that makes sense. I forgot how much I love this. It dries down and mellows out eventually to something a bit lighter on my skin and I think the musk is a bit more prominent at that point, but in a scent locket it pretty much stays in your face. I love that the scent lingers so much longer this way. A little bit goes a looooong way.

    Black Lace

My first review! I got a bottle of Black Lace in a swap recently. In the bottle: Smells kind of perfume-y and I can definitely smell the tobacco and cognac, though mostly the tobacco. I don't really smell much vanilla at this point, which almost made me sad because I love me some vanilla. Wet: I can still smell the tobacco strongly, but the vanilla with musk and incense smoke are starting to come out. Dry: After about fifteen minutes, it mellows out and I smell and delicious, slightly sweetened vanilla with the darkness of the musk and incense underneath. The tobacco is still there, but it fades to the background after 20 or 30 minutes. It's absolutely gorgeous. It's just what I wanted it to smell like. It has a lot of depth, and it's just such a beautiful scent. It smells even better as it settles down over the course of an hour or so. I'm so glad I have a bottle of this. I think this is my favorite blend now. It lasts for a really long time too. I put some on the other night before I went to bed, and my wrists still smelled like sweet vanilla with just the barest hint of something darker underneath when I woke up. If you love vanilla and dark, sexy scents then I think you'd like this.
