  1. In Bottle: Primal floral

On Skin: This scent is quite heavy at first and I smell the civet right away. I love musky scents, but civet and I really don’t get along. It turns very animalistic on me, and not in a good way. This smells like soapy cat pee on me. Odd yes… the soapy note is VERY strong… then it turns into the band-aid scent. Yikes! Sadly this is anything but erotic on me. Every once in a while, depending on how deeply I sniff, it actually smells pretty… but if I breathe in too long the band-aid scent takes over. I am so devestated this doesn’t work on me. Moderate to strong throw and short to average wearlength.

  2. In Bottle: Resin and lilac

On Skin: Oh, this is beautiful. Usually I am not a fan of lilac, but mixed with the beautiful dark golden myrrh and amber, we have a winner. This is a super sexy floral, “darkly sexual” hits it on the head. I love this!!! The resin and incense notes really ground the floral and make it soft but mysterious... lightly powdery but not enough to tickle my nose. A perfect night scent… not overwhelming but still intrigues you. This is gorgeous… I’m going to treasure my imp. I agree with Cranberry, it does remind me slightly of O... maybe it's darker sister... The throw is light but the wearlength is pretty good.

  3. CTIII number CLV

In Bottle: Cherry, chocolate and mint

On Skin: This translates to 155. This smells like a chocolate covered Halls cough drop. Very, very menthol with a sweet cherry or berry note. The chocolate is lighter than the other two notes but sweetens it up a bit and makes it slightly creamy. The chocolate note fades the quickest and the menthol remains the strongest note. Interesting… but not really me. Strong throw and long wearlength.

    CTIII bottle number CLXV

In Bottle: Water, dirt and floral

On Skin: This translates to 165. I get an aquatic note right off the bat, followed by a moist dirt/earth note. And a very strong floral, maybe orchid? This smells like a greenhouse or garden. Very alive and fresh. Quite pretty but not in an elegant way, more in a natural earthy way. Like someone who is prettier without makeup and completely in their own unique element. I really like this since it is so original and makes me feel freaking beautiful even though I’m sitting here in my pajamas. I can sense a few other notes in this but am having trouble pinning them down… something sweet for sure. I also think I might smell shea butter because it seems like a note in Obatala and that might just be the one. I’d love to see other reviews on this scent. Good throw and great wearlength.

  4. In Bottle: Dragon’s blood and floral

On Skin: This is a very soft Dragon’s Blood vlend. The resin is obviously there, both in scent and color. The ylang ylang is very light, the amber actually covers it in even more sweet resin. The poppy to me is hiding because it never surfaces on my skin… at least not the poppy I'm expecting, poppy is usually a little spicy on me and I don't get that in this scent. I also get a lilac or slightly lavender feel from this scent… it actually is pretty heavy on the floral. But overall I don’t get much from this scent. It just seems like a softer Dragon’s Blood blend but doesn’t really grab me. Still, it’s quite pretty and worth trying for sure. Very soft throw and short to average wearlength.

  5. In Bottle: Dark and crisp fruits

On Skin: This is my favorite Harvest Moon so far. It is so crisp and fresh and so very delicious! The apple seems to come out first, and is followed by the rice milk. I LOVE the smell of rice milk so this makes me very happy. There are so many notes in this blend and they all meld so well together. Every once in a while, one will shine through for a moment… the dusty wheat giving a sweet but slightly powdery feel, the hickory and hazlelnut giving nutty but slightly spicy earthy notes, the green tea leaf and sage giving a beautiful bright and herbal twinkle, and the chrysanthemum giving a light and sort of bitter floral edge. The berries and fruits mix into a dark red punch, refreshing but not heavy or sticky. This is a perfect scent for autumn, so very beautiful… It has a light throw and sadly fades quickly on my parched skin, but I do love it!!!

  6. In Bottle: Blackberry and resin

On Skin: So sweet and dark! I feel the blackberries dripping in this, ripe and sweet. Together with the plum this is a beautiful purple scent. I also notice that the blackberry note is the exact same blackberry note in Monster Bait: Closet. That’s scaring me a little since Closet turned to cat pee on me pretty quickly. The coconut comes out and I’m in love, I love coconut blends and mixed with the vanilla it offers an amazing creamy blanket of sweetness. The woods and opopanax offer a nice deep almost sticky resinous feel with a slight powder from the white musk that balances it out (yay, white musk always saves the day!!). I don’t smell the oakmoss… and I am so happy to say the vetiver is so light it’s actually working with me. I love this scent and really don’t see it as masculine. Just very dark, sexy and yummy. I still love Queen of Spades more but this is still amazing. I get a great throw from this and low to average wearlength.

  7. In Bottle: Woody powder

On Skin: I was excited for this scent above all others because I am a true Leo. I like the deep woodyness of this scent, but I smell something almost chemically in the background. It’s also very powdery and powdery scents usually don’t work too well with me. I was very worried about the juniper since it’s usually sharp on me but the heliotrope both softens and sweetens the scent. Sandalwood is one of my favorite notes and my favorite wood for sure so it is a pleasant addition. It is very light and pretty. The lime and orange give the tangy note that I think smells chemically. Interesting and a nice blend to experience, but not really something I’d wear even though I like it a lot more as it develops and melds with my skin. Fairly strong throw and average to long wearlength.

  8. In Bottle: LEATHER

On Skin: Did I just walk into Wilson’s leather store? This is leather to such an extreme it’s overwhelming. It is powdery/dusty smelling… very dry. This is perfectly an “Old Out West” scent. If I was to do any roleplaying or dressed up as someone from that era I would have to wear this, it is so authentic! But… I have no desire to dress up as a cowboy so I see this scent probably going unused for the most part. I’ll keep it for my collection but I can’t wear it again, it’s giving me a huge headache, sadly. Maybe use it as a room scent if I have a “Deadwood” viewing party? SUPER strong throw and long wearlength.

  9. In Bottle: Herbal and perfumey

On Skin: Wow! Not what I expected! This has to be one of the most unique BPAL blends I have ever smelled. Amazing job Beth!! I can now see what all the fuss about this scent is about… I want more too!! But not for me, I’m thinking it’s much more masculine and I’d LOVE this on my husband. I made him smell it and he thinks it’s a bit soapy for his tastes but after me exclaiming how much I love it, it’s growing on him as well. It’s all about the white musk. I am so in love with white musk. The herbs are soft and buttery rather than being medicinal which really makes my day. The blossoms are soft as well so this isn’t an overly floral scent. I am goo-goo over this… it’s my 2nd favorite masculine scent after The Bow & Crown of Conquest. Sadly it has SUPER light throw and the wearlength is pretty short. Hard to slather this one when I only have ½ an imp of it…

  10. In Bottle: Powdery incense

On Skin: I get musky incense with a slight citrus twist… not at all the sharp lemon other people have mentioned. The incense has a light smoke which is actually quite comforting and warm. The musk gives it a depth that also warms the scent but also makes it a little sexy. The scent turns powdery pretty quick. The lemon comes forward more as the scent develops as well as a very light sweet floral. All in all a beautiful scent but it is very light and I have to inhale deeply several times to really get a feel for it. Very light throw and short to average wearlength.

  11. In Bottle: Lemon Pledge

On Skin: The lemon verbena is singing as top note. Lemon to the extreme! The sandalwood gives this scent a beautiful soft blanket to lie on and the jasmine gives a pretty feminine quality. The bergamot isn’t harsh which is nice. This is a very floral fruity scent, it doesn’t seem to like me much but I love the description so I had to try it. I don’t get snow, or winter from it. To me it’s more yellow and springlike… like drinking a glass of lemonade while sitting in the garden. Soft and powdery, very pretty. Average throw and average wearlength.

  12. BOTTLE "LXXIII" which translates to 73.

In Bottle: Light resin and strong floral

On Skin: This is bottle ”LXXIII”. I get florals right away. I smell lily and maybe jasmine, quite strong. There is something earthy to them, meaning it smells like real flowers, not perfectly clean… they have a little dirt on them still and you can smell the planty part of them as well. There is a deep but light resin in the background which contrasts with the bright floral nicely. It keps the scent grounded. I also think I smell a little spice… very faintly though. I like that this is not your everyday floral but it is a little overwhelmingly floral for my tastes. Very feminine and very bold. It has a very strong throw and long wearlength.

  13. BOTTLE "XC" which translates to 90

    In Bottle: Woody soap

On Skin: This is bottle “XC”. Hmm… not really liking this one at first. It is woody but also soapy… some kind of ozone note which turns slightly medicinal on me. It might be a floral… violet or lavender which both turn funky on me. It reminds me of a woody Numb. Sightly icy and cold but warmed just a bit by the wood note. Clean and fresh, I get a blue/white/grey feel from this. It’s very soft, not a strong or overwhelming blend, this one also lies close to the skin. Pretty, but not only feminine… I could see either men or women wearing it. As it develops on my skin I like it more. There is also a fruity note… nothing super sweet. At first I think melon… but no not sweet enough, then cucumber… but no that’s not it either. But it has the same feel as both of those notes. Fresh, light green and yummy. The woody scent has completely faded and it ends up a more fresh slightly melon ozone scent on me. While I may not wear this scent often, I do like it eventually becomes on me and I’ll probably keep and imp and swap the rest. Light throw and average wearlength.

  14. BOTTLE "C" translates to 100

In Bottle: Light skin musk with floral

On Skin: This bottle is labeled “C”. This is the lightest most gentle BPAL scent I have ever smelled. It has a bright note, a floral, maybe a lily? It’s sweet with a very slight tartness… so pretty. There is also a very faint musky note… not anything overwhelming, more like the white musk single note, barely there but a close to the skin “skin musk”. Skin musks smell like you, only better. The floral comes out even stronger and I would officially call this a light floral scent. I normally am not a fan of florals, but this one is so gentle and soft and close to the skin I love it. It seems like a scent that would compliment anyone and be perfect for any occasion. Very very pretty. Although it’s a little light for my taste (I prefer a stronger feel), I can see myself wearing this for sure. Light throw and average wearlength.

  15. In Bottle: Light soapy floral

On Skin: This seems very soapy at first. But so freaking beautiful!!! Bright and golden, warm and comforting…. “big ol’ bottle of sunny, happy, bounciness” sums it up perfectly!!! The florals are light, not overly perfumey and I am so happy to say the carnation is working with me, it blends nicely with the daisy and sunflower and I think the heliotrope’s sticky sweetness is counteracting the usually bitter note carnation normally has on me. The amber is a bit powdery but the honeycomb wets it a bit making a nice combination of sweet warmth. The lemon peel stands out and helps balance the sweetness of the other notes. The neroli gives an exotic edge and the vanilla musk wraps everything up in a light veil of YUM! I think this scent is the cousin to La Fee Verte without the absinthe note. La Fee has a green feel whereas as Et Lux is very yellow gold. I usually like darker scents, but if I want to give myself a pick me up or am going to a celebration, this is the scent to wear. I love it! Light throw and short to average wearlength.

  16. In Bottle: Sweet candied grapefruit

On Skin: This is so light and sweet! The grapefruit does cut through the other notes with a ripe tart note. The sugar cane and vanilla sweeten it up and the ginger rings true and gives a beautiful light candied note. I love the woods… I thought they would be heavy and make it a woody scent, but no they are very soft and give a nice base that compliment the other notes perfectly. The musk is soooooo pretty!! It also adds a velvet feel and keeps the scent so balance. I was worried this would be so tart from the reviews about the grapefruit taking over the scent, but to me although it is the dominant note, it is wrapped up in the other notes so well I can handle it. It is foody, but not bakery overlysweet foody. I think the resins also soften the scent overall and give a beautiful deep and slightly dark contrast. The rice wine starts to come forth, and it is also sweet, but not overwhelming like normal berry wine notes can be. This scent is so pretty and feminine, I love it! It is one of my favorite Lunacies for sure. Light throw and average wear length.

  17. In Bottle: Floral soap

On Skin: Super strong tart rose. I also smell a slightly herbal note, maybe geranium. I can see this being a blend for compassion, understanding and love because it totally reminds me of my grandmother. She used to leave these little rose and leaf shaped tea soaps in the guest bathroom and these match their scent perfectly. That really transports me back to her house and how safe and good I felt there. Generally I don’t like rose, and I don’t want to wear this blend, but I like to smell it and think of her. Soft to medium throw and average wearlength (3 hours).

  18. In Bottle: Super sweet cherry

On Skin: This is so sweet and again, it’s artificial. This doesn’t smell like cherry the fresh fruit, it smells like cherry chapstick or cherry flavored candy. But that is quite yummy! It’s also very creamy… kind of like the smell of cherry cordials without the chocolate. Very dark and decadent and kind of sexy in an innocent sort of way. I do like it, but prefer it in a blend as compared to alone. It has a very light throw and short wearlength.

  19. In Bottle: Industrial cleaner

On Skin: Eeek! This smells a bit chemically at first. Ok, a lot! It smells like wood stain. It is very strong and pungent. But more dark than anything… like a woody herbal. As it develops it becomes a little less chemical and becomes more earthy. I still smell wood stain. This doesn’t work on me at all. Wow, not what I was expecting. Super strong throw and long wear length.

  20. In Bottle: Sweet Strawberry

On Skin: Right off it smells like Strawberry Chapstick… artificially sweet and slightly waxy. And once again… like other fruity single notes I have smelled… it reminds me of Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I know I said the same thing about Apricot and Peach. But that only lasts awhile because then it warms up a bit more and smells less fake and more like a fruit compote or candy. Not like a fresh strawberry at all though. It’s a cute scent, yes I said cute, and I’d love it as a room scent or to mix with other blends, but it’s not something I’d wear. Medium throw and average wearlength (about 2 hours).

  21. In Bottle: Woody spice

On Skin: This is a very heavily woody scent. I also smell spices, the pepper and nutmeg and something minty... yes the thyme. It’s a very dark and sinister scent. It also has a slightly sour note. It isn’t really working on me and as the scent progresses, the dreaded vetiver makes itself known. Vetiver and I are mortal enemies. It gives the scent a bit of a feral edge making it even more outdoorsy and wild. I never do smell a grass note sadly, I wish it would come forth because I think it would freshen the scent up a bit. After about 20 minutes it calms down and is actually warming up to me. It’s so complex! It does seem quite masculine though and nothing I would find myself wearing. But it sure was fun reviewing! Strong throw and long wearlength.

  22. In Bottle: Lemon mint

On Skin: This smells like floor cleaner or Lemon Pledge. Very artificial and like chemicals. So safe to say, I sadly don’t like it. This doesn’t inspire me to do anything but wash it off. I usually don’t like lemon scents and mixed with herbals like this one seems to be, I almost always get the Pledge effect. As it blends with my skin a bit, it turns a little more sweet and less Pledge-like thankfully. Now it’s quite pretty but nothing I’d really wear. I’ll have to try it in it’s intended use and see if it does inspire creativity. I can always use that since my life seems to always be full of the arts. Strong throw and mid to long wearlength.

  23. In Bottle: Light faint musk

On Skin: This is so clean and pretty wow! When I think of musk I almost always envision dark and sultry. This is far from it! It’s a light white feel, almost cold and crisp. It’s very very faint though, I have to deeply inhale to get a feel for it which is sad because I love it. If only it was about 10 times stronger. It is very sweet and I get a vanilla note from it as well. Very much a nice skin musk, staying close and belnding with my chemistry very well. It is so pretty, I’d love to have a bottle of this because I would have to slather it on quite often for my sniffing tastes. Very very light throw and short wearlength.

  24. In Bottle: Sweet dark musk

On Skin: Um, yum!!!! I love musks, especially when they’re sweet. Siberian Musk is my favorite so far, it’s so deep and sexy. It has decided it is going to be best friends with my skin. I seriously cannot explain how drop dead sexy this is on me. It’s the same love at first sniff I had with Honey single note, it just “works”. It’s also slightly masculine which I like because it makes it seem much more destinctive and powerful. No weak woman would wear this, this is a strong woman’s scent. It’s also quite resinous, soft and wickedly sweet. I love that it’s a skin musk, those seem to really blend with my chemistry and feel almost natural. It has an average throw and wear length. I really need to find a bottle of this.

  25. In Bottle: Sharp and ozone

On Skin: This is a strong beautiful blend. It starts off with a crisp ozone note. In the background is a dark earthy note that makes an interesting contrast with the bright ozone. Usually ozone notes are too sharp on me, with the nice spicy and deep earthy background note, the blend is balanced and actually is gorgeous on my skin. It’s slightly powdery and also a tad sweet. It seems a little masculine to me at first, as most ozone scents do to me, but as I wear it I think it might just be a strong and powerful scent that is just as beautiful on a woman. I know the TAL blends are not meant as perfumes, but I still like to see how they smell on me. This blend is so complex and interesting I can’t NOT wear it. I love it!! Big kudos to Beth on this blend, it really does just astound me how intense it is. Very strong throw and long wear length.
