  1. BEAVER MOON 07

In Bottle: Cheesecake with cherry sauce

On Skin: This is like the original Beaver Moon only amped 1000 fold. I smell sweet yummy cake, could be cheesecake, with a massive amount of warm cherry sauce poured on top. I mean huge cherries and lots of gooey sauce. This is quite possibly the sweetest BPAL scent I have ever smelled. People with sensitive noses may be overwhelmed here. One tiny tab will do you as this is crazy STRONG! As the scent develops, the strawberry comes out too, emphasizing the berry sauce. I have seen the comparisons to cough syrup and I have to disagree completely. There is nothing icky or medicinal about this scent at all on me. It is pure sweet love. The berries are the strongest note, but the vanilla cake/cookie note is quite delicious, just more in the background. A hit for sure! Strong throw and long wearlength.

  2. PIRATE MOON

    In Bottle: Clean dark musk

On Skin: This is gorgeous, hands down. I smell the red musk right away which is a note that tends to love me. Here it does for sure, it amps and seduces me at first sniff. The leather is light and sexy, the woods are soft but deep, the tobacco offers a light smokey quality. The cocnut palm is more green than sweet but gives a nice contrast. The lime is very faint and just slices through quickly with the other resinous scents filling the short gap it left. This is a drop dead sexy night on a forbidden island after a day of plundering. I haven’t really fallen love with any of the lab’s pirate blends, usually they’re too aquatic or patchouli filled, whereas this one suits me perfectly. I LOVE it! Plus the fact that it goes along with Beth’s wedding makes me love it even more. What a beautiful association to keep with it. It has medium throw and a nice long wearlength.

  3. PUMPKIN SMASH

    In Bottle: Pumpkin and spices

On Skin: I smell pumpkin and nutmeg. More pie smelling than anything… but with a kind of funky background note that begins to sour. I think that’s the beer. The smoke is light but does darken the scent. This scent reminds me of the smell of the inside of a pumpkin, after the candle has burnt down to nothing. You can smell the pumpkin, the wax, the smoke and something slightly off… the pumpkin starting to spoil I guess. It’s not really a scent for me. Luckily the beer isn’t too overwhelming and it’s not a gross scent by any stretch, but it does seem more like a novelty. Light throw and average wearlength.

  4. PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE

    In Bottle: Pumpkin and icing

On Skin: This is delicious! So warm and inviting! This is a nice cozy kitchen after baking a tasty pumpkin cheesecake. I can smell the graham cracker crumbs, the brown sugar and the slightly zingy cream cheese!!! I can actually taste it and my mouth is watering. I’m not normally a pumpkin fan, but this really is quite seductive in a bakery sort of way. I love that is is just pure cakey goodness, no fruits or booziness… just simple foody love! The spices in it are soft and comforting, just like a cheesecake should be. I really love this scent and want to wear it for the whole month of October! Medium throw and average wearlength.

  5. SUGAR-SLATHERED CANDIED APPLE

    In Bottle: Apple and caramel

On Skin: This smells a lot like Creepy on me but a bit more tart. I loved Creepy, it’s the perfect October smell. But sadly, apples aren’t one of my favorite notes. It’s nice, just not me. I wear Creepy when I need a candy apple scent, so I don’t think I need a bottle of this as well. The caramel is sweet and sticky and warms the scent nicely. When the caramel comes out more, it reminds me of a warm compote, like a apple cobbler or something. Very warm, sweet and sticky with a bit of spice. This is a great Halloween scent and puts me in the perfect mood. I’d love to use it as a room scent though. Strong throw and long wearlength.

  6. MARSHMALLOW POOF

    In Bottle: Marshmallow!!!

On Skin: YUM! I am crying a little, this is sooooo good! One of the most perfect BPAL scents ever! It smells like ooey gooey marshmallow with a spike of coconut. Pure sugar, sweet and over the top! There is a little fruityness to it, almost strawberry, but very very light, enough to give it a little more substance than just grains of sugar. I get no Play-Dough, no plastic, nothing bad at all from this scent. It is confectionary perfection! It’s pretty light which is the only thing wrong with it… I wish it was stronger. I want to wear this every day, all the time. It totally cheers me up. A complete “hug scent”. I want gallons of this. I always wanted a BPAL marshmallow scent, now I have one. I hope Beth continues to experiment with marshmallow blends, they are so much fun! It has light throw and pretty short wearlength.

  7. Very spicy, very warm and strongly scented. I love how it instantly puts me in a fall mood. I LOVE the exfoliants, always need those! And they're small enough to not scratch the skin. A beautiful soap and a beautiful mood. The apples and clove are very comforting, the pumkin and other spices are sweet and tasty... I want to snuggle with this scent!! In a warm shower it chases the cold autumn air away.

  8. This is hands down the best massage oil ever. It is so freaky sexy. And the way it melts into the skin slowly is FABULOUS!!! It allows for a very nice long massage without vanishing into the skin right away like most oils do. My husband loves it and wants to buy a lifetime supply of it. The scent is very sexy as well with the dominant notes being ylang ylang and mandarin. The patchouli and snadalwood provide an earthier side to the scent and give it a darker edge. The myrrh is resinous and velvety. A gorgeous scent.

I can't wait to try the other oils now. Major kudos to the lab!!!

  9. EUTERPE

    In Bottle: Sour and powdery

On Skin: Wow, this isn’t my thing at all. Very sour, very powdery… I’m shocked there isn’t rose in here. It reminds me of a more sour version of Utrennyaya. It has the foot crème feel to it. Actually, not sure if it’s because of I’m wearing the two scents, but it truly reminds me of Lysander as well! Just not as sweet! After about 10 minutes, the foot crème feel goes away. I smell a bit of the sweet honeysuckle, but the lemon and musk seem strongest, followed by the bitter carnation. A soft scent, very much in the same family as Utrennyaya and Lysander. How funny that I chose to try them all around the same time. Moderate throw and average wearlength.

  10. LYSANDER

In Bottle: Woody, sweet yet tart

On Skin: The wood violet is just that, sweet like a violet and earthy and woody as well. Very nice! The lime offers a dagger of tart that pierces through the peaceful sweet world of the violet. The benzoin and tonka are creamy and velvety… I want to snuggle under the covers they create. The myrtle and blackberry leaf are herbal but not medicinal, very tame. The lilac musk gives a nice background and adds to the warmth of the scent. Overall a soft and comforting scent with a sweet subtle floral edge. Medium throw and average wearlength.

  11. UTRENNYAYA

In Bottle: Soft, sour and minty

On Skin: The rose amps out of control, super bitter and sour. The violet tries to peek out and offer a sweet note but the rose slaps it away. The sandalwood is woody and clean. The mint holds it’s own though, very strong and combined with the rose I get a bit of a medicinal smell from this. Yep, it’s the Numb syndrome: foot cream. Not as bad as numb, but along the same lines. This scent has a few more notes that help keep it from making me cringe, but it’s still not my thing. It is very pungent and while seeming like a light smell, the throw is actually quite strong. The staying power is average to long.

  12. MIDNIGHT KISS

    In Bottle: Wine and patchouli

On Skin: A lovely frimp from the lab, thank you!!! The wine is very strong, sweet and dark with just the right booziness. The patchouli is second in line, and sadly it’s not the patchouli that normally works on me. Here it is very dirty and combined with the other notes it amps it’s earthiness. The cocoa I notice right away… dark and powdery, but contributing to the sweetness of the scent. The red musk is gorgeous, it always seems to work on me. The sandalwood isn’t coming across as a clean note, which it normally does so that’s odd. But it does also jump on the earthy band wagon. The nicotiana gives a smoky quality and makes this scent a little more corrupt. This scent is sweet, dark and feral… very much like a kiss at midnight. This scent reminds me of a cross between Centzon Totochtin and Blood Kiss. A strong scent that can be worn by both men and women. Strong throw and long wearlength.

  13. MUSE

In Bottle: Sweet lime and florals

On Skin: The florals are super sweet here, very cloying. The jasmine is through the roof on me. The lotus adds to that sweetness and gives a bit of that bubblegum note. Yeah, this is like a floral lime bubblegum. The lime is light, but it does give a slight tart zing. The tuberose is very faint, I barely smell it. The jasmine really overwhelms this scent though, it drowns the other notes. Jasmine can sometimes work on me, but not here. It’s just too much and far too sweet. The scent has a light purple/pink feel. Very heavy throw and long wearlength.

  14. SLOBBERING PINE

    In Bottle: Sharp pine

On Skin: This is a very sharp pine scent… almost like breaking a pine needle and getting that crisp fresh note. I can smell the sticky sap from the tree that gets on you and is impossible to get off. I grew up in the mountains so I’ve had that happen far too many times. It is sour and very pungent, a bit overwhelming for me. Great for someone who wants a pure pine scent, or to feel like they’re outdoors. Very winterlike and cold in feel. Super strong throw and very long wearlength.

  15. COBRA LILY

    In Bottle: Sweet and herbal

On Skin: Very interesting! The dominant note is a sweet floral, followed by a soft herb. The herbal note is not really medicinal but it does have a planty earthy quality. I smell honeyed lilys with a nice soft warm spice that has a slight bite, maybe cinnamon? The scent is light and subtle, a nice alternative for a floral. I like it, but nothing compares to my Black lily which is one of my favorite florals. This is more like an orange/yellow lily. Low throw and short to average wearlength.

  16. ANATHEMA

    In Bottle: Powdery incense

On Skin: This is very very strong. A most severe form of incense. Very thick and very smoky. It also has a very soapy note, almost like rose. The honeysuckle isn’t too sweet which is nice. The vetivert stays tame which is not normal for me. The black opium casts a very dark shadow and is the dominant note by far. This is a resinous and deep scent, not for the shy. Quite pretty but not really me. Super strong throw and long wearlength.

  17. EVENT HORIZON

    In Bottle: Resin love!

On Skin: This is the mother of all resinous scents. So thick and sweet… Absolutely gorgeous and sexy. This is dark, slightly spicy, sticky, brooding and warm. It’s incensey but not in a church-like way… more like an opium pit surrounded in cones of expensive resins seducing all that come near. I am a total sucker for resin scents… (loves me Mme Moriarty, Schwarzer Mond etc etc) and this one wins me over right away. I want to make lotions from it, spray, soap… yes yes yes. And I know my hubby will love it on me. It’s more sweet and mellow than some of the other earthier resin scents I love so it changes things up. A great scent for fall, when I want my hubby to grab a blanket and just curl up with me. Drop dead gorgeous. Strong throw and average wearlength.

  18. EPITAPH

    In Bottle: Strong floral

On Skin: Wow, this one makes my eyes tear up. It is very strong and very tart for a floral. The rose amps on me severe and it loves to turn sour sadly. The lily is behind it, with a slight sticky sweet note but the rose overpowers it. The ghostly mist just seems like more white florals. It’s quite soapy on me and very overwhelming. Still a pretty scent and very feminine, just not my style. If you are a fan of strong florals try this for sure. I’m going to pass it on to a better home. Strong throw and long wearlength.

  19. SCHRODINGER'S CAT

    In Bottle: Lime and mint

On Skin: There was no question I needed at least an imp of this scent, based on it’s inspiration. The notes didn’t really attract me, but come on!! Schrodinger’s cat!!!!!! Right off it is quite fruity, with the lime in the front, but then quickly replaced by the grapefruit. It’s sweet, tart and playful. Very refreshing, making me want some juice!! The oakmoss offers just a slight aquatic tone and the lavender also adds to the crispness of the scent with a nice herbal punch. I don’t smell chocolate much, maybe it’s just the note sweetening the scent and keeping the citrus in check? All in all, a great scent that really cheered me up. I won’t be parting with my imp. Moderate throw but sadly a short wearlength.

  20. THE PHANTOM WOOER

    In Bottle: Light dry florals

On Skin: The note that is dominant on me is lemon, tart and sour. But as the other notes show themselves, the honey myrtle sweetens it and gives it a light tea scent. The florals are soft, light and quite delicate. A good choice for someone who wants something flowery without it being heavy or cloying. The tone is white/light yellow to me. Somewhat sad and haunting… It’s a nice scent but doesn’t excite me too much but I wouldn’t mind smelling it on someone else. Very light throw and short to average wearlength.

  21. HAIRY TOAD LILY

    In Bottle: Fruity

On Skin: With a description like that, who wouldn’t try this?!?! It starts very sweet, and very wet, like biting into a very juicy fruit. It is strong, a little dab will do ya. As it develops, the sweetness becomes more tart and while it is still fruity, it’s like a fruit that is not yet ripe. I’m thinking kiwi… yes kiwi exactly. I can even taste it! You know that tart yet slightly sweet yumminess of kiwi? Kiwi and a floral… maybe rose that is adding to the sourness. It’s quite pretty and a unique scent for sure. I’ll hold onto the imp. Very strong throw and long wearlength.

  22. HAVANA

    In Bottle: Earthy plants

On Skin: This is very dark and very earthy. It has a patchouli feel on me which sadly is not good. In the background though there is a slightly clean note, sweet and pretty. It stays in the back though… if it would swap places with the earthy note I’d love this scent. The leather comes out after a while, adding to the dark worn in feel of the scent. Interesting, and intriguing but not really me. It has a masculine feel to it as well. I’ve never been to Cuba, but the tobacco really captures what I’ve envisioned of it. Moderate throw and average to long wearlength.

  23. THE QUEEN'S SALON

In Bottle: Sweet soft spicy floral

On Skin: I love it at once… it totally has the same tone and feel as Queen of Spades one of my alltime favorite scents. I smell florals… I’m thinking a sweet red rose (just slightly sharp), carnation (I smell that spice it has) and maybe gardenia because of the creamy note it becomes on me. I also smell plum which almost always works on me and a gorgeous musk that provides a somewhat feral note as it develops. I love that is has a light spice and velvety feel. The scent is dark, but more like a dark red or purple that is seductively dark, not scary dark. Very elegant, very in control, very woman hear me roar. I want a gallon of it. Average throw and short to average wearlength.

  24. DOOR 13

    In Bottle: Clean sweet ozone

On Skin: Yum! This is an almost fruity ozone. Sweet and tasty… I swear I smell a little coconut (it’s sweet creaminess) in there… and maybe even cucumber (that nice wet crunch). I love it, so refreshing and crisp. It’s super light and fades quickly but provides a nice “lean in to smell” closeness. I have seen other people remark on the metallic note in this scent, but on me it is very much in the background and not harsh at all. Mellow yet invigorating, a unique scent for sure. This is a great everyday scent and I can see myself wearing this anytime. Other people have mentioned lemon as well, and I don’t get that here, at least not in the front. There is a slight citrus note but it isn’t sour and it isn’t strong, it’s hidden under the other layers. A gorgeous scent for sure. Very low throw and short to average wearlength.

  25. KUBLA KHAN

    In Bottle: Foody plastic

On Skin: I don’t like this at first, it has kind of a chemical tone to it. I’m thinking it’s the florals… more than likely the jasmine. But as it develops the dark smoky notes balance the sharp sourness of the florals. The dark vanilla is delicious and sticky sweet. I can’t smell the ginger or mandarin… but I do smell the hay, and it smells… well exactly like hay. A bit dry and a bit sweet. The leather is very light and fades into the background. The sandalwood also stays in check and just offers a very slight clean woody note. I still think the jasmine and lily aren’t working on me here, they are just too sour. But the other notes are gorgeous and I love the parts they play. Overall it’s not really a scent for me, but it’s been fun to review. Light to moderate throw, short wearlength.
