  1. HEAVENLY LOVE AND EARTHLY LOVE

    In Bottle: Incense

On Skin: This is the incense motherload. I feel like I’m in church. I smell the frankincense right away, and am transported to the many many days in church I spent while going to Catholic school. Very resinous, very smoky, very woody. This scent screams warmth and incense. It’s sweet, it’s dark, it’s beautiful, and I need to make a room scent out of it. It’s like burning incense without the messy cleanup. Hell yeah! It is very soft, very well blended and the absolute perfect incense blend. I can smell the teak, the ambergris, the individual resins, then they all embrace and it is perfection. I would love to smell this on my husband, but alas… he hates incense. Light throw and moderate wearlength.

  2. MAD KATE

    In Bottle: Gardenia

On Skin: Gardenia comes out right away, although it’s a little more tart than creamy on me today. Maybe it’s the rose and thyme that add some sharpness and counteract the gardenias usually sweet cream note. The honey and vanilla are there, although quite faint. The freesia adds another sweet floral element, and the red currant offers just a stab of brightness in the blend. I wish the honeycomb was stronger, but on me it’s just a light waxy background. It is a pretty scent that I’d wear for sure. Maybe a much more floral version of Honey Moon. Light throw and short wearlength.

  3. WEZWANIE / HOLD

    In Bottle: Nutty honey

On Skin: Yum! Very nutty and honey filled. It starts quite foody, and has almost a chocolate feel to it. Very strong, very sweet. The hazelnut is the dominant note on me, followed by the honey and vanilla. The sandalwood gives it a woody background, and the amber is a sexy powdery resin. This scent is beautiful, and quite tasty. It’s a bit heavy in the nut department for my taste, but I still would love a bottle of this scent for days when I feel like something different. It has a very gold/brown tone to it. Warm, comforting, and very very rich. A snuggle scent for sure. The throw starts strong but fades quite fast, the wearlength is a little shorter than average on me.

  4. ARCHANGEL WINTER

    In Bottle: Light ozone

On Skin: Wow this scent is so light! It’s like a whisper. I don’t get piercing from it, to me it’s a like a gentle cold chill, right next to the skin. It is very transparent and slightly masculine. It turns quite salty aquatic on me, like sea spray but in a very small dose. A good scent for someone who likes things light and not overwhelming. Soft, pretty, and very subtle. A good non obtrusive scent that could work on anyone. Light throw and average wearlength.

  5. THE SHIVERING BOY

    In Bottle: Sweet pine

On Skin: Hmmm, how come I am the only person getting pine from this? It smells like a fresh cut pine tree! I smell pine, ice and snow… cold air and a dark night. I don’t smell grapes, and I don’t smell the resins. I’m worried I got a mislabeled decant? Ok, about 20 minutes into wearing it, I do get a grape note, but still no resins. Let me check into it… Strong throw and long wearlength by the way.

  6. AUTUMN

    In Bottle: Dry perfumey leaves

On Skin: I get a dead dry leaf smell, but something sweet and deep under it all. The rose provides a tart pungent note that rips in and out of the scent. The sandalwood provides a lovely woody note, so soft and the perfect base. The osmanthus is sweet and keeps the scent from being too harsh. The dry leaves are the center note, herbal in nature, making this a beautiful Fall scent well deserving of it’s name. Overall I get a warm, dry yet creamy feeling from this scent. Very original and very well blended. The herbal note is a bit much on me so I don’t thin I’d wear it often, but I’d love to smell it on someone else. Average throw and about average wearlength.

  7. THE BLACK SWAN

    In Bottle: Wet and planty

On Skin: This scent has quite a bit of ozone to it. Very aquatic, and murky. It reminds me of Zombi slightly but without the rose. Clean and crisp. I smell the violet leaf, sweet yet herbal. The florals are very watery and a bit diluted. I love the imagery it creates, a Black Swan swimming on a murky pond… pretty yet dark and slightly scary. A good floral for someone who likes a clean flowery perfume over a sweet or sharp one. It has a pretty good throw and long staying power.

  8. THE ATROCIOUS ATTIC

    In Bottle: Violet and lavender

On Skin: The sweet violet starts as the dominant note, with the sharp lavender piercing through it. As far as florals go, I usually love violet because it has a candylike quality to it. Here it truly is sweet and yummy, but after a few minutes turns slightly plastic. The plastic doesn’t last long thankfully. I see this as a violet version of Antique Lace. Quite yummy. The lavender chills out and the sweet sandalwood comes forth bringing with it a bit of a powdery feel. The tea rose has a slight sour tint to the smell and the lily adds a little more sweetness to this bouquet. All in all, this seems like the love child of Antique Lace, Hope and Faith… Very light throw and short wearlength.

  9. THE GHASTLY GARDEN

    In Bottle: Berry powder

On Skin: The berries jump out at me right away, they are dried out and powdery and remind me of potpourri. Then the greenery creeps in, dark and dry… the dryness of several of the notes really make this a powdery scent. The blooms are haunting, casting a beautiful perfumey veil over the other notes. This is a very enchanting blend, very feminine in feel. I’m usually not a huge fan of florals, but the greenery and berries in this are such nice companions that it winds me over. I would wear this again for sure and am considering a bottle. So very pretty! Light throw and short to average wearlength.

  10. PUMPKIN V 2007

    In Bottle: Sweet pumpkin

On Skin: The dominant note is pumpkin without a doubt, but the planty notes help keep it clean and not too sweet or cloying. A very nice balance. As the scent develops the cactus flower comes out, very sweet but in a floral sweet way, not foody like the pumpkin. I really like the contrast of the notes and how this becomes a not completely foody scent. I like how it has a green side, yet still remains quite Autumn like. A medium throw and medium to long wearlength.

  11. SAMHAIN 07

    In Bottle: Massive spices

On Skin: This version is very heavy on the spices. Especially the allspice and clove, both which almost always turn metallic on me. Sadly, this years Samhain doesn’t like me at all. I’m not a fan of spicy scents, but the previous few years always had more pumpkin and apple which sweetened the mix. Here I can barely detect the apple, and I don’t smell any pumpkin at all. I do like the wood notes though, they soften the overall feel and make it more deep. A nice scent, just not one for me at all. Strong throw and long wearlength.

  12. MURDER OF CROWS

In Bottle: Soft violet and resin

On Skin: Um, yum?!?!?!!!!!!!!!! Wow, this is absolutely beautiful. I get a soft violet/grey tone from this. Velvet and delicate. Verbena is usually amped on me, but here it is in the background thankfully. I get violet, which isn’t even listed as a note. I smell the gorgeous grey amber. The herbs are also very light and back notes. The benzoin is resinous and sweet but very light as well. Actually this is probably the lightest BPAL scent I have ever smelled. It blooms and is gorgeous for 10 minutes then vanishes without nearly a trace. Wow, that almost makes me cry. It is seriously GONE. Poof! Such a gorgeous scent, that leaves me crushed as it leaves me so quickly. So I’d say I love it, I’m just so sad it has no staying power at all. Very very VERY light throw.

  13. OCTOBER

    In Bottle: Sap and leaves

On Skin: This again is an outdoors scent, but whereas Death of Autumn was dry and bitter, this scent is more vibrant and sweet. The leaves have freshly fallen and are still pliable, not brittle. The smell of sap lingers and in the background someone lights up their fireplace for the first time this season. A beginning of Autumn scent and quite pretty. I actually love this scent and wouldn’t mind having a bottle to wear as well as use as a room scent. I ordered decants of the Fall scents to try before getting bottles, well the 2 scents I was going to get bottles of without even sniffing, were the 2 that ended up being my favorites from the decants… Perilous Parlor and October. I guess I should trust myself. It’s a unisex scent, should smell great on anyone. Very light throw and short wearlength.

  14. THE DEATH OF AUTUMN

    In Bottle: Dry and powdery

On Skin: This is a dry, powdery scent that is quite bitter to me. I don’t like the smell of dried out leaves and that’s pretty much what this is on me. I like the amber in the background, but the spiciness and dryness just don’t suit me. Quite light and very much fitting the description. This scent is melancholy and dark. The khus is feral, adding to the outdoorsy feel of it. I get leaves mashed into the ground, dry and cold. The spiciness and resin keep it from being a strictly outdoorsy scent. Interesting, but not really me. Moderate throw and short to average wearlength on me.

  15. HADES

    In Bottle: Planty and resinous

On Skin: The opoponax is dark and sticky and it reminds me of Schwarzer Mond at first. But it is even more earthy and not as sweet. It also has a nice floral in the background as the narcissus makes itself known. To me this is a much lighter version of Schwarzer Mond, kind of Schwarzer Mond Light if you will. It also fades super quick and doesn’t have the dark depth of Schwarzer Mond. I also notice a bit of spice to it. As it fades the resins drop to the back and the floral element becomes stronger, it’s very pretty! I love it! The resins and florals work so well together, I just wish it was stronger. This is a perfume I will wear a lot. It starts with a medium to heavy throw, but fades quite quickly and has a short wearlength.

  16. ILE DE LA TORTUE

    In Bottle: Stone and flowers

On Skin: Wow! This is an original scent. So many levels! I smell the orchids right away, one of the only florals that love my skin… followed by the air and limestone. I get an ozone feel from those notes. As the scent develops I smell fruit and a tropical edge. It starts sweet, but the ozone notes and green notes freshen it and keep it grounded. Quite pretty and exotic. It takes me away to the tropics and the heat… the high I get just from being somewhere so beautiful and lush. This is a vaction scent. Not one I’d wear every day, but when I want a quick escape to the tropics, this is a great scent to have nearby. Light to medium throw and average wearlength.

  17. PLUNDER

    In Bottle: Spicy overload

On Skin: I smell the clove, cinnamon and cassia above all the other notes. Very very spicy, sweet and stinging. The tobacco darkens the scent and gives it a smoky edge. It’s much darker and brooding compared to Three Witches, the other spiciest scent I know. It’s interesting that this scent is pure spices, but doesn’t feel foody. It is so spicy my eyes start to tear up and my nose heats up just from smelling it. The note that carries the longest and stays the most obvious is the cinnamon bark. I am not a spice fan, so this isn’t a scent for me, and I think it’s a little overwhelming to use as a room scent. Maybe diluted into a room spray, for around the holidays it would go over well. Super strong throw and very long wearlength.

  18. WINDWARD PASSAGE

    In Bottle: Soapy ozone

On Skin: This scent is the definition of a “clean” scent. It has a crystal clear ozone note and strikes me as soapy. It is light blue/white in tone, like the ocean and it’s sea spray. If you like ozone and aquatic scents, this is a must have. Ozone scents always feel a bit more masculine to me and here it is the case for sure. I also get a light and slightly sweet lemon note, or some sort of citrus. It starts bold, and mellows out nicely. This is a great scent to wake you up. Being at my desk at work, this brought me out of the work-haze I was in. Very bright! Medium throw and long wearlength.

  19. SPIKED PUNCH

In Bottle: Super sweet boozy punch

On Skin: Ok, there is no hiding the booze in this. Whiskey would be my guess… This scent smells like pure liquor on me. Whew! I don’t want to get fired at work… they’ll think I’m drinking at my desk! The fruit is sickly sweet, think Hawaiian Punch here. I can taste it, and see it’s pure sticky deep red color. I swear I have a drink in my hand. I tend to drink really girly fruity drinks at the club, and this would be one of those. I think I’m getting drunk just smelling it. A very fun and festive scent, and it gets me in the Halloween party spirit right away. Not one I’d wear often, but if I was feeling silly I’d go for this right away. Very strong throw and long wearlength.

  20. EGG'D MAILBOX

    In Bottle: Cream and honey

On Skin: Wow, this smells Like “O” on me. How crazy! It’s sweet and yummy, and purely creamy. It also really smells like honey for a bit. I want a gallon of this. I smell vanilla and sweet love. I don’t smell egg really… not an egg I’ve ever smelled at least. Maybe a light non-boozy version of egg nog, and no spices at all. Pure creaminess… It also has a very very soft, light and gentle floral in the background. Just enough to give it a bit more dimension. The bad part… it fades almost instantly. It starts strong and yummy, and within 10 minutes my skin has drank it all up and I can barely smell the trace that lingers.

Super light throw and very, very short wearlength.

  21. TP'D TREES

    In Bottle: Clean and sweet

On Skin: This is so pretty! Yes, it is fresh and clean, and oddly smells a lot like a clean bathroom. But not an icky artificial cleanser bathroom, this is like sweet cotton and very white in tone. There is a slight woody smell, but not piney in any way shape or form. I get a soft skin musk, velvety in feel, also a bit powdery. This is gorgeous and I wouldn’t mind wearing this often, as crazy as that sounds. But it does feel like that just hopped out of the shower and feeling clean and refreshed. But very subtle and super soft… like plush white poofy towels. I would also love it as a room scent. It has a very light throw and short wearlength.

  22. VAMPIRE TEARS

    In Bottle: Citrus floral

On Skin: The grapefruit jumps out right away. Hello citrus! Very tart and very strong at first. The florals are second in line and decorate the grapefruit nicely. The ginger and tonka help sweeten the scent and give another dimension. I also smell some lemon. The neroil helps soften the sharpness of the fruits and gives a nice base. All in all, it’s a very bright scent, and yellow in tone. It doesn’t remind me of Vampires at all, but still it is pretty. I have quite a few citrus scents though so I may swap this one. But if you love grapefruit or lemon scents, give this one a try for sure. Light to medium throw, average wearlength.

  23. SCORPIO 07

    In Bottle: Dark sweet resin

On Skin: Oh yes I love this. I have an obsession with dark resins… Schwarzer Mond, Mme Moriarty, Minotaur…. and this. So dark and sexy, seductive beyond any measure. It’s much lighter than Schwarzer Mond which was a thick sticky resin on me. Scorpio, is more thinned out and wearable for anyone. The resins float around me and warm me up instantly on this cold day. The basil and wormswood add to the earthyness. The Dragon’s Blood is sweet but very faint. I get a slight black liccorice feel from this, but nothing overwhelming. I love Scorpio! It’s an ace in my book for sure. I will be wearing this a lot without a doubt, and would love to smell it on my husband as well since it’s freaking sexy! Medium throw and long wearlength.

  24. THE PHOENIX

In Bottle: Dirt, wood and ozone

On Skin: This is an ocean scent, full of ozone and aquatics. I was scared of it in the bottle, but on my skin it bursts into a scent I actually love and the dirt I smelled in the bottle vanishes. It is unisex, and quite refreshing. It starts out bright but then the Snake Oil comes it and gives it a gorgeous dark depth. The sea air is strongest, followed by the wood and then Snake Oil. The lime is in the background, giving the ozone a spike, and the blood seems like a nice warm resin. A beautiful scent that has really woken me up. About 15 minutes into wearing it the ozone amps even more giving it a soapy quality which to me makes it slightly more masculine. I want my husband to try this one out for sure. I’ll wear Pirate Moon and he can wear The Phoenix. Moderate throw and average to long wearlength.

  25. SWAN MAIDEN

    In Bottle: White flowers

On Skin: This is a floral scent for sure, very white and bright in feel. This is the most “white” scent I’ve ever smelled. I smell the creamy gardenia, and the iris and orchid for sure. The other florals blend quite well and form a perfumey wave. The sandalwood is also clean and softens the scent slightly. Still, it is quite sharp and extreme floral. While it’s pretty, it may be a bit much for me. I would like to tone it down a bit and wear it as a diffused spray maybe over a white musk. Fans of florals must try this without hesitation. It has a medium to strong throw at first but mellows out, and an average wearlength.
