  1. Off to take my exam to become a certified prevention specialist. Because I am currently not quite certifiable enough.

  2. I am on the Warm Springs tribal reservation at the Kah-Nee-Ta Casino and resort. Been here since Tuesday, don't come home until late Saturday. Yes, I am aware of the irony that has me taking classes and a certification exam for my role in the prevention of Problem Gambling at a casino.

  3. Home again! To demanding cats and a bed that is actually large enough for two people! Yay!!!!

  4. On the road home after staying in a "pet friendly" hotel that actually IS pet friendly! Thanks for the recommendation, Chuck!

  5. Safe and sound in Ontario for the night. One more doggie walk, then collapse into bed.

  6. Ah, the wonders of cross country travel. As of 11:30 a.m., I've decided Wyoming still pretty well sucks. Any guesses as to what time this will actually post?

  7. OK, Facebook - I've been offered a job where I will have considerably more responsibility. I'll make more money and have better benefits, but have to travel more and have a long commute. It would mean leaving the agency I've worked at for almost 17 years. Eek! Thoughts? Reassurance?

  8. Thank you to everyone who made "Mountain of Flame" and the IFGS 30th Anniversary party such a fantastic weekend. I have a TON (metric, not standard) of praise for the staff, my team (including virtual team member NPC pickup), the Board, the other players, etc., but that will have to wait for an actual keyboard. In short, y'all rock!

  9. Game was a success. We crawled on our bellies a lot.

  10. Had a fabulous time at Mountain of Flame and the IFGS 30th Anniversary Party! Now, a weary good-night to you all.

  11. We're here. We're sleepy. Get used to it.

  12. Man, Wyoming is boring. At least the part I've been driving through forever.

  13. Coloradofest 2011 Day Two: Merlin hopes today is better. Yesterday, both "big" dogs growled and snarled at him for the first time ever.

  14. Leg one of Coloradofest 2011 successful. We are in Baker City (which is still _awfully_ proud of its pioneer heritage) for the night.

  15. On the road to Colorado for 45 seconds. Puck is already panting.

  16. Penned all 3 dogs up in the kitchen. Proceeded upstairs for 10 minutes to get some packing supplies. Came down to discover the Schips* have instigated a jailbreak, and the Sheltie* is ordering pay-per-view.

  17. Merlin is at the vet for the big snip today, and I'm a nervous girl.

  18. Ok, it's that sad time again. I'm totally out of books! Help me out, FB - what are some great summer reads?

  19. Spencer: "Wow, that was fun. That was a ton of Shelties."Me: "Yeah, the registration volunteer said there were 50 or 60 dogs here."Spencer: "So, really only a half ton then."

  20. Does everyone carry an emergency leash in their car in case of lost dog, or is it just me and Spencer? Discuss.

  21. Good Lammas to all, and to all a good nap!

  22. Merlin turned 6 months old today! He's double the size of his dainty, 15 pound mother.

  23. My (possibly) favorite book of all time is available in e-book format after being out of print for years! 'The Road to Avalon' by Joan Wolf is a fantastic, fantastic read. Seriously, I have two copies of it ('cause it was out of print, and I didn't want to ever be without it), and I've worn out three others over the years. Read it, read it, read it!

  24. "Spencer has gone to the beach for the weekend. We can have a nice, mellow, private time. Just the ... er ... seven of us."

  25. Tried our dogs on a raw food diet last night. In the sense of: Merlin snagged a bag of frozen chicken off the counter and shared it with the Schipperkes while Spencer and I were on the porch swing. Mmm, chicken popsicles!
