Hey, my tech-y friends - my laptop is slowly wandering into the blue screen of death zone, and I no longer know a damn thing about computers. I need a portable system that will run Windows. Sorry, Mac fiends, the software that lets me telework is Windows based, and no computer is awesome enough to be worth driving to Salem every day. Suggestions? Is the Surface going to be swell enough to be worth the price and wait?

Getting to work from home in order to do a presentation for the Portland City Club this evening. Excellent! Finding out that my political lords and masters may not let me do the presentation - even though this sort of thing is LITERALLY in my job description - frustrating.

Came to the somewhat disappointing conclusion that, if Puck could vote, he would go for the straight Republican ticket. But then I realized that he is both elderly and Black, so his vote would be suppressed anyway.
