How do you feel about nail polish? If you like it, are there any brands or colors in which you are interested?
LOVE. My nails are always painted (although I kept them bare for my interviews last week, which was bizarre looking to me). I love OPI the best, as I can get up to a week of wear with their polishes. I also love Essie, China Glaze and Revlon. I tend to stick to mostly reds, pinks, corals, taupes, nudes, and purples for colors. I love the way blues and greens look on other people, but I feel so weird wearing them.
What about makeup? What brands do you prefer and which products would you most enjoy receiving?
Yes to makeup! Within the last year I've started wearing more makeup in an effort to look a little more put-together and professional. My daily routine is foundation (Revlon's Colorstay Whipped is the best I've found so far), concealer (Bobbi Brown's corrector is a lifesaver for my dark purple circles), eyeshadow primer, 1-2 eyeshadows (I've fallen in love with MAC's neutral eyeshadows), mascara (Maybelline The Falsies), matte black eyeshadow as liner (MAC again), eyebrow powder (Bobbi Brown again), blush (I've been using MAC, but also really love the Nyx blushes) and lipstick (usually either MAC or Revlon).
As far as brands, I love MAC, Bobbi Brown, Revlon, and Laura Mercier (she's out of my price range for the most part though), and would love to get eyeshadows (mattes or neutrals) or lipstick (pinks, "my lips but better" shades, and reds).
Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends.

I love, love, love stud earrings. They're my favorite! I also need a pair of plain hoop earrings as one of my last pair mysteriously disappeared (the cat likes to cart off my jewelry). And I like my necklaces fairly average length, 18-20 inches or so: I have a rather large bosom, and anything too long looks odd to my eyes.

Love lip balms (nut free please!), and adore lipsticks. I'm not a gloss fan because I have very long hair and live in a very windy area so I wind up with lip gloss in my hair and smeared across my face I have the best luck with Revlon and MAC lipstick, but will gladly try any lipstick you send my way, Witch! I love pinks and reds and am always on the lookout for a good nude!

Mostly indifferent. Most pumpkin-flavored things tend to be very heavy on the spice or too sweet, so I skip these and get all the chocolate instead .

Halloween Candy, Decorations, and Costume supplies - What kind are your idea of FUN and which ones would you thoroughly dislike?
I love candy corn, Kit Kats, Milky Ways, and vanilla tootsie rolls. I love fun, slightly spooky, kitschy decorations. I don't dress up, so costume supplies would be wasted on me. As for dislikes: no candy with nuts or peanut butter, and also no scary or gory decorations.

Pumpkin carving! This year I'm going to try to carve at least three pumpkins. We used to hand out candy, but there aren't a lot of trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood, so we stopped doing that a few years ago. And we also kit the house out in some pretty awesome decorations

Are there wee little ones in your home that will get jealous and are just too young to understand why you won't share the love, who maybe need a touch of Witchee love all their own, to distract them while you hide all your lovelies?!? Nope, no kiddies around here.
Do you like tarot cards, pendulums and rune stones etc? If so, what type? I've been toying with the idea of getting into tarot for almost a year now, but I have no idea where to start. So a book (and/or a deck) on how to do tarot would be lovely!
Do you read literature/culture blogs or websites of any kind? I'm thinking about anything that would help a putative witch to get a sense of what your current tastes in books, movies, games, genres, approaches to culture and literature and so forth are. Not so much anymore. This spring I started to feel uncomfortable with how much time I spent on the internet (and also how ranty/ragey much of what I read made me), so I've drastically cut down on the number of blogs I read.
How do you feel about traditional picnics (namely the intimate table for two variety)? Old-fashioned basket or something more utilitarian (cooler/insulated bag)? Not great, lol. The closest I come to picnicking is eating on patios!
If you were put in a room with 100 random other people the same age and sex as you, from your country, in what way do you think you would be different from the average? I think what would set me apart the most is my resiliency. My entire sixteenth year was spent in a wheelchair, housebound, and incredible pain while I taught myself all my school courses. I was so sick that my mother had to take care of me like I was an infant again: she fed me, bathed me, and was with me nearly every hour of the day. I was finally diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease when I was 17 and was eventually able to lead a normal life, but I still struggle with pain each day. I managed to graduate on time with a 4.0 GPA and went to college. Then in my junior year of college, I suffered a severe traumatic brain injury that left me without a large chunk of my memory (I was unable to recognize my family members). I had to leave school and had to relearn everything: how to read, how to tie my shoes, how to drive, everything. I recovered fully thankfully. This got waaaay too long, but I know that these experiences have made me much more resilient than I would have been. There is nothing that life can throw at me that will knock me down for long, and this is something that I don't see very often in my peers.

Witchee, do you cook? Do you do all the cooking? Is it a chore or a pleasure? I do cook, but my mother (who I live with for now) is such a master cook and a slight control freak about her kitchen that she hustles me out of the kitchen if I try. I find cooking for just myself to be a chore (when I lived alone I would wind up eating the same three meals), but I adore cooking for other people.
Which reading level do you prefer to read in YA or Adult? Or even both? I'm not sure what this is asking? I read pretty much anything, but I've been finding lately that most YA makes my eyes roll.

Witchee dear, do you like video games? Are there any you want to play? Do you have a large library? I am definitely not a gamer. In high school, I tried to play both the Lord of the Rings: Two Towers and Kingdom Hearts video games, and it would always end in frustration because I'm just no good at video games.
Do you have something you do, without fail, as a personal daily habit/ritual? (Examples: pen-and-paper journal keeping, tea/coffee drinking, morning yoga, nightly bedtime reading. I'm kind of thinking on things that would be dear to you and might need small supplies or could use certain extras. ) I've recently gotten into the habit of journaling each night before bed and so I could use some pretty pens! I also walk my mother's dogs each morning and evening.

Do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you grow? Yes to both! I kinda missed the spring planting season, but I have big plans for fall planting and next spring. I'd like to start growing rosebushes again, maybe some peonies and daffodils, and a veggie and herb garden! However, I'm a complete noob at gardening, so gardening books/tips/websites would be most appreciated!

Have you tried Fortune Cookie Soap? What products or scents would you like? I've never heard of them, but their Whipped Cream body butter in Mother Pucker, Plain Jane, and A Nod to the Hippies, their Shower Steamers in Sensual and Serenity, and their fortune cookie soaps in Lemon Zing, Cabaret, Coarse Ground Pear, and A Nod to the Hippies sound fabulous.

How much do you like lipbalm? Flavored or unflavored? What are your favorite brands and flavors? Yes to lip balm! I prefer flavored (any flavor except for berries) to unflavored, but I live in the desert so any type of lip balm is greatly appreciated. If you could double check the ingredients list for nut products (since my mother is deathly allergic to nuts, I won't keep things with nut products in the house just to be safe), I would appreciate it!
Do you like and wear lipgloss? If yes, what colours? I'm much more of a lipstick girl. My hair is so long and it's so windy here that if I wear lipgloss, my hair gets stuck to my lips and then I wind up with lipgloss trails everywhere
For those of you whose wishlists contain only BPALs, are there any other perfume companies you like or would like to try out? I've recently discovered Conjure Oils and am smitten with them! I've only tried Marie LaVeau, Radio Bastet, and a handful of their single notes. Once I can set aside the money, I'll be getting a bottle of the Madagascan Vanilla single note for sure. I'm open to trying anything from them or Nocturne Alchemy and if you have a favorite non-BPAL company, I'd love to hear your favorites!
Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends. And if you had them and dislike them, can you name a few *other* tea companies you're into? I'm not a big tea drinker, honestly. I love Twining's Irish Breakfast, but I also love to douse it in cream and sugar or lemon and sugar, neither of which is compatible with trying to lose weight So tea is probably wasted on me, unfortunately.

Who is your favourite female of all time? Historical, literary, ANYTHING, and why? Honestly? My mom (Stella Luna)! She's such an amazing woman who's had to overcome an inhuman amount of obstacles, and she is my hero and role model. She accepts and loves people for exactly who they are, faults and all; she's patient and kind and giving; she's supportive no matter what. I'm proud to call her my mother, and even prouder to call her my friend. And now I'm tearing up, so I'll just live it at that.

I’m not sure. I want to say clove, tonka bean, leather, and patchouli. But I’ve never smelled any of Haus of Gloi’s oils so I don’t know if their patchouli will be too “dirty” for me to wear or if their leather is too fake smelling or if their clove is sweet or bitter. So maybe this isn’t the best idea unless you have a lot of experience with HoG’s ( ) oils. In which case, feel free to decide for me Witch dear!

I would prefer something hang-able because I have a crazy amount of wall space in my new apartment. And if I could have any image painted for me, I love moonscapes. Full moons, “honey moons,” crescent moons, I love them all. Moons over the ocean, over a lake, over a city scape, peeking through a tree of forests, etc. Any kind of moonscape, basically. Or images of Athena or Nike (the goddess) or Bastet are awesome too!

I’m not very big on indie nail polish. I feel that for the most part, it’s just a mix of these huge pieces of glitter and that’s not my bag baby I do love nail polish though, particularly China Glaze, OPI, Deborah Lippman, and Revlon. I’m very partial to pinks, reds, purples, and greys and prefer crème or shimmer to full on glitterbombs.

Hello darling Witch! I hope you're doing well today! Like I said in the chatter thread, I'll be answering questions mostly in here so as not to clutter up the thread too much. And instead of doing one huuuuuuge entry with all of the questions, I'll be putting them in different posts. I'm crazy busy right now what with grad school and work, but I have an hour at work each day that's just basically sitting around so I'll be using that time to catch up with the questions!

Are home made foods acceptable or does the idea of eating strange mailed food disturb you?
Yes to the homemade foods! And if you wanted to slip a recipe in with it, I would love that!
I just gave you $20 and sent you into a "has everything" store ala Walmart and told you that you have to come out having spent it all, and none of it on anything you need. What would you buy? Be as specific as possible!
Hmm. The first purchase would be a can of tennis balls. I use them work the knots out of my neck and back and I always need more. Then probably a nail polish (I'm partial to pinks and reds and purples). To finish it off, probably some beef jerky and those candy pumpkins (the ones like candy corn but they're pumpkin shaped).
What kind of cuisines do you like? (I mentioned this in my ?aire but curious what my witch may like)And, what are your favorite restaurants?
Truth be told, I have yet to meet a food that I don't like I belong on Team Eat All the Things for sure! Favorites include Greek, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, and Indian. As far as restaurants, I don't actually eat out that often. It's harder to eat low carb at a restaurant, and my budget doesn't really have room for eating out unfortunately.
I'm from Canada - is there anything specifically a witchee might like that is only available here?
I have heard tell of maple sugar candies. This is definitely something I would be interested in trying!

Not so much. I always think "Ooh, s'mores!" but then when I actually try them, it's way too sweet for me.

Kitchen towels! My roommate only brought the kind that's 90% polyester and they're useless for actually drying dishes. So cotton kitchen towels are awesome, as are any and all kitchen gadgets! Yes on the bento box and supplies (I'm tired of carting my lunch around in a plastic Target bag lol!), and definitely a yes on the spice mixes!

I love candles! I don't have a tart burner (and please no incense), so that's probably out. I love to burn anything except really foody smelling stuff (like vanilla buttercream. It just makes me hungry and that's no good!).

I’m afraid that I’m going to get laughed out of the forum for this, but I really love the way that Kate Middleton dresses now. I work in a fairly conservative hospital environment, and need to dress nicely. I live in jeans and t-shirts, but need to start dressing like a grown up, and getting fashion tips from Kate Middleton seems like a good place to start! For example, nude pumps. After seeing them on her, I figured they might be a good summer piece rather than my plain boring black heels, and sure enough they kicked me out of my work fashion rut. No hose, though!

Witch dear, if you could find me caciocavallo cheese of any type, I would love you forever and ever and ever and ever and a day. Seriously. When I lived in Oklahoma there was a little mom and pop grocery store run by a couple that had left Italy in the early 1950s and they made their own caciocavallo. I could eat that stuff three times a day for the rest of my life and be deliriously happy.
What about little wee creatures for your desk or mantel, like this?

Do you have any bedtime rituals? Is there any particular product you have to apply or a certain shirt you wear or an act you perform to get you in the "bedtime" mood?
I make sure that my lunch for the next day is packed, that I have clothes laid out for the next day (I’m really not a morning person), and that all of my stuff is ready to go. If the next morning is a workout morning (so early! 5:30 am is when my alarm goes off!), I go to bed in my workout gear. Again, not a morning person, so the less I have to do to get my but out the door in the morning, the better And if I’m having trouble sleeping or am feeling particularly anxious, I’ll dot my chakras with TAL’s White Light and say a quick prayer and do a breathing exercise. It’s kind of scary how well this works to put me to sleep.

I use Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, any type of super black mascara, my Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Bourbon (but I’m trying to move away from high end makeup because $17 for an eyeliner is too rich for my budget now), Aveeno body wash, my Nalgene water bottle (I need a new one though, the lid came unattached). I need a new lunchbox pretty desperately, lol! I bring my lunch to work/school every day (between my diet restrictions and lacking funds, it’s necessary).

Love, love, love! Nail polish is my other addiction, and I would die of happiness if my Witch made a polish with me in mind I’m totally ok with chemicals in nail polish, and glitter (holo and non) is also awesome. Nail polish of all colors rocks my boat, but I have a special love for reds, pinks, corals, and purples.

Who here likes to receive cosmetic, skin care, perfume samples (of the sephora sort-not just BPAL), makeup brushes etc etc.
I love makeup, but in reality wear very little of it. I stick with my staples and don’t vary from them, so cosmetic or skin care samples would be wasted on me.
