Switch Witch Q&A Fall 2011, PART II.

Started up Switch Witch Answers PART II here! Also now to my Witch you don't have to get me anything I mention here really. I simply answer the questions in case it helps give you a better idea of me and what I like and in case any of the questions are yours! You seem to have a master plan already and I would love to see how it all unfolds. Also. YOU ARE AWESOME.   October 20th   Do you need any winter wear, witchee? Not particularly, but I always love socks and fingerless gloves, gloves, mittens, very large cowls, and capes! Winter is my favorite time of the year   I've read something about a Event Exclusive called Pumpkin Hard Candy (if someone knows the details, shout it out because I am still searching). Are you interested in this scent? How desperate are you for it? Not at all desperate. Do not even want it! I try to keep away from things that are too exclusive.   Going back to the question about winter wear, are there any colors you would prefer not to have? Hmmmm. Well. I love a LOT of colors and honestly if you are curious just check out my Pinterest for color schemes I love (probably under the What I Would Wear board) but some combinations that I don't really love would be more watery cool kind of combinations? I love winter color schemes and anything rich and almost velvety in color. Autumn colors are pretty spectacular.   October 14th   Do you like scary books? What's the best/scariest thing you've ever read? I do like scary books! I love Chuck Palahniuk so of course I have read Haunted, so creepy and disturbing...   So I was at Uwajimaya the other day and saw Earl Grey Tea Chocolate and Cinnamon Chocolate. If you were my Witchee, would you be interested in trying something like that? Earl Grey Tea Chocolate sounds AMAZING.   October 13th   Are you interested in anything in the latest round of Lab auctions on eBay? No thank you.   What favorite song(s) would you think would translate into a cool or unique scent? Oh wow. Hmmmm. Widow seems really awesome! I don't think I need a bottle or anything though.   Interested in anything from the Beaver Moon Lunacy update? Just Halloween: Montreal and I already have a bottle of that now!   I sent you with $20 into a drugstore/Walmart (nothing too fancy/imported/expensive, just your average selection), and you are restricted only to the candy aisle. What would you blow it on? Swedish Fish, Almond Joy, Cookies and Cream Hersheys, Kit Kats, Payday.   October 11th   What is your favorite kind of cookie? What an interesting question. Well the cookies you sent me dear Witch were amazing and pretty spot on if you ask me. I also really like white chocolate in cookies along with healthy ingredients. But seriously the cookies you sent me were AMAZING.   How many boxes are you hoping for? However many my Witch sends! I have gotten so much great stuff already! Socks, cookies, perfume etc. I'm already quite happy I plan on sending off 4 total probably (three small and one large).   How do you feel about loose leaf tea in baggies? I mean, I have a TON of loose leaf, would it be okay if I send you samples in some zip lock baggies? Or is that something that would squick you out? That would be awesome. I love tea in all shapes and forms   How would you feel about getting a custom poster with your favorite quote on it and some cool graphics? I'm an architecture student and can print posters (provided I make them) at pretty much any size using Adobe Illustrator at a low price. Also if you would be interested in this, what quotes would you like? Awesome freaking possum. This is my question so I won't bother answering more than this.   the Lab on eBay? No thank you.   October 9th   Is there anything you would want from NYCC, something you'd like your witch to ask me to pick up? No thank you.   The best thing I ever ate...: Ummm…. Wow… Probably this amazing Turkish delight I had this past summer. I love plain Turkish delight that is rose flavored. Have I mentioned I love rose and violet flavored things? YEP. Big fan.   October 6th   Do you like liquorice? If so, hard or soft? Sweet or salt? Normally salted or so salt it pulls your face into a fishy shape? And which shapes do you like? No thanks.   Mac using witchees, what computers do you use? What peripherals/accessories do you have and what would you LIKE to have? What do you use your computer for? I have a 15' Macbook Pro unibody (I think that is what it is called). I use my computer for Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Rhino, and V-Ray. Mainly used for architecture stuff and surfing the web along with school things.   Do you like listening to audiobooks? Would you like to receive one, and if you would, what sort of audiobook would you like--or is there a particular audiobook you've been meaning to get? Audiobooks for Thomas Pynchon novels would be pretty cool.   October 5th   Are there any DIY / Crafty / Free / Budget items you'd love to get but haven't noted yet? (Or, maybe you'd just like to emphasize something you may have only noted in passing?) I would love ANYTHING you make me. Baked goods and crocheted or knitted things and even your own personal artwork would be love.   Do you own a DSLR camera? Are you interested in a minky camera strap like these? What about anything from Photojojo? OMG. I just discovered photojojo and I USE PHOTOSHOP A LOT for school stuff and would love http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/photo-app-keyboards/ for the black keyboard for my mac laptop for photoshop. I also think I would like an Instax Mini but that is expensive so don't worry about it!   Is anybody else into film photography? Interested in receiving film, supplies, etc from Lomography? YES. I own a Diana+ and love love it so film for that would be welcome. I also really want a holga. I also have a Polaroid Land Camera so film for that would also be cool.   Are you musically inclined? Do you play an instrument or sing? If so, what? I WISH. I want to learn to play the Ukulele.   October 3rd   Does anyone else like collector Barbies? No thanks.   What small everyday items would you like, that you keep forgetting to get? Nothing I can think of.   Tarot No thanks.   Tell me about something you like, and why you like it. I like crocheting because it is something I can do with my hands and incorporate bright colors, pattern, soft yarn, and it takes up time and keeps me busy and WARM.   If you're the MMU type of Witchee, what Geek Chic Cosmetics tickle your fancy? I have way to much make up so no thank you.   Would any witchees be interested inQuinn Popcorn? No thanks.   October 2nd   Who likes silly items from Archie McPhee??? None I can think of.   What are you drooling over from the Sock Dreams Halloween stuff? Not particularly drooling over anything.   Luck charms? The red velvet, pumpkin, white velvet, lemon sugar, strawberry cream cookiewiches sound lovely.   For those of you that like candles, do you like stuff from Yankee Candle? And if you had to choose, tarts or candles? I can't burn candles in my dorm but I would love something pumpkin scented and I prefer jar candles.   Would you be interested in getting a custom necklace fromhere? Custom or not I would love one! They are expensive though.   Is there a movie you want so badly that you don’t own now? The Dark Crystal, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset.   Is there a song on Itunes that you haven’t downloaded yet? I plan on it and would like my Witch to do so as well so I can thank her for her awesomeness!   Would you be interested in the #occupywallstreet scent? Sounds really awesome!   Do Paintbox Soapworks' Goat's Milk Hand and Body Creams sound like something you'd like to try? Yes! I'm also interested in a lot of their soaps which I have favorites on Etsy!   September 30   Witchee, would you like anything from this particular Haunt update? Haunt stuff seems difficult to get a hold of so don't worry about it!   Who's interested in Halloween: Montreal? I'm actually pretty interested. It sounds really wonderful!   You get a package in the mail containing 3 things you have really wanted more than anything else you've mentioned so far in this thread. (they are all reasonably priced of course! ~$20 or less apiece). What are they? Season 4 of Supernatural, J. Herbin ink from JetPens, a charm for my charm bracelet.   how do you feel about hemp? jewelry, soap, etc? I really like bar soap from Arcana and Lush!   September 29th   What kind of purse do you prefer? Leather, cloth? over the shoulder or crossbody, or something that can do either? Do you like bold bright prints with fun things, or monochrome, solid colours? Crossbody strap always. I like leather and cloth. If it is cloth I prefer bold patterns with few colors (like red, yellow, and cream together or red, grey and cream etc.) If it is leather I prefer brown leathers. Something like bold stripes or large bold geometric prints are really cool. I'm really set on purses though so no need to get me one.   julep maven monthly boxes: ???   Your favorite restaurant or type of food to eat out. Would you use a restaurant.com voucher? Groupon? Probably not (unless it was for Juan's Flying Burrito in Nola!)   Like commercial socks? What do you mean by commercial socks? I'm DOUBLE majoring in Architecture and English and I'm a black belt.   So who else watched Babylon 5? Nope.   If you had to decide what your stripper name was, what would it be? Uhhhh. That sounds lovely but honestly would not get much use from me being a university student and all.   Do you have any bedtime rituals? Is there any particular product you have to apply or a certain shirt you wear or an act you perform to get you in the "bedtime" mood? I've been particularly drawn to The Twelve Dancing Princesses (I own Danced to Pieces by Arcana and mainly bought it for the fairy tale connection but I also LOVE that perfume), Hansel and Gretel, and Ivanushka.   September 24th   how do you feel about ethical animal fiber, i.e. wool and the like? I mean pretty good I guess. It IS ethical!   What about little wee creatures for your desk or mantel? No thank you!   Look down. What are you wearing, right now? Peg-leg trousers, oversized long sleeve shirt tucked in, undergarmets, bare-foot!   Kerchiefs? No thanks.   It's the weekend, and you find yourself without a single chore or responsibility for a few hours. Right this very moment, what's the one thing you would do if you could do anything? Play around with watercolors, read for FUN and not for school, and watch Heroes (because I am ALMOST finished with season 4!)

Would you prefer something light and drape-y or thick and warm? What kind of colors would you prefer? Do you have any fiber allergies or preferences? Shawl or cowl. Both on the larger scale of things while being thick and warm. I love the colors red, grey, periwinkle blue, yellow, mint green, peach, and green. But really I love bright colors the best, clear jewel tones!   If you have a pet, could you please post a photo of it? I really need to see what your pet, if you have one, looks like. Posted on the SW thread, just type in "Evelina" to search for her!   Do you like/own/wear/want fairy wings or something of the like? No I don't!   How do you feel about terrariums? They're really awesome!   What's your favorite horror movie? Horror movies scare me...   If your witch was the practical type and wanted to include one or more of your everyday essentials, what would those include? I'm talking about the bath products, lotions, face lotions, teas, food, etc that you really use every day. I use Tetley's British Blend tea all the time and am a huge fan of arcana soaps.   Jane Austen .. Yay or Nay? YAY, SO MUCH YAY.   I put up quotes I love in my office and studio to get me going, They range from goofy to sarcastic to inspirational... Are you interested in a hand painted quote? Do you have one in mind, or a topic in mind? That would be pretty great actually.   Do you like period or period-styled paraphernalia? Stuff like postcards, notecards, jewelry, office supplies, what-have-you? Nothing really specific.   If you like manga, comics, and/or graphic novels, what is it about them that you like, in general? The story, the art/style, etc? I love graphic novels, especially how they are illustrated. For example, the illustrations on Heroes are SO AMAZING. The ones in the TV show done by the people who can see the future. I crave that kind of BOLD colorful illustration.   If you could choose a Smack, what would it have in it? Smack?   if you could have a salon scent made, based on any artwork(s) what would it be? Really good question.. I'll get back to you on this one but perhaps one of Zaha Hadid's work?   Are you scientifically curious and/or process-oriented? Would you like a project-type gift that allowed you do do something like make soap from scratch, take and (nontoxic-ly) develop photographs using a pinhole camera, use plant dyes on yarn or fabric, etc.? Hmmmm. That would be cool but I don't know if I have time for that.   What's 'your' song/your theme song?   What would be your superpower? Teleportation. OMG Teleportation!   Witchee, would you like a gently used BPAL tshirt? That would be a-ok.   Do you like homemade snack mixes? I know Puppy Chow was mentioned in a previous question, but what about healthier and more natural type snacks like granola or trail mix? You can put a lot of delicious and fun things into trail mix, yeah? If you say "Sure, I'd love some!" what kinds of things do you like/not like in those kinds of snacks, ie coconut flakes, raisins, certain nuts (allergies??), candy, etc. Give us your list of DO's and DON'Ts! Trail mix sounds cool. I love nuts and fried fruits (just not dried apples or bananas). Raisins are iffy.   Do you like charm bracelets? If you had a bracelet, what sort of charms would you want on it? Favorite hobbies, symbols, whatever? I have a charm bracelet! My bracelet is silver but I honestly do not care when it comes to the particular metal color of a charm because I like things to be eclectic and have character. The charms I have on it currently include a gondola (always reminds me of that one Sailor Moon movie and Italy), a painter's palette, and a sewing machine! Some charms I would love include a polaroid camera because I enjoy photography, something architecture based or crochet based (yarn would be so cute!), I also love sailor moon transformation wand charms at this etsy store http://www.etsy.com/...shin-wand-charm (I adore that Sailor Mini Moon key necklace too! and my favorite sailor scout would have to be Sailor Venus), also anything that has to do with my interests like writing and reading (book charm?! I love Jane Austen!) and music would be awesome!   September 20th   Would you like any ecotools makeup brushes? They're kinda one of my favorite things ever, and they're animal-friendly and the handles are bamboo. And to top it all off, they work really well for applying makeup. I really love ecotools, but I have quite a few make up brushes and am not in need of more!   Do you like Legos? Especially mini-fig key chains, Lego block keychains, small Lego sets, etc? I loved legos as a kid, but nowadays Architecture keeps me pretty busy with building things so yea   Since the previous question about "what would you buy from the Lab if you had unlimited funds, etc" left WAY too much to the imagination with no limitations (my answer was pretty much BUY ALL THE THINGS!), what would you do if you found a $50 bill on the ground and a nagging voice in the back of your mind told you that you HAD to spend it on BPAL or else face Death. Also, say they had free shipping (LOL) so don't factor that in. What would you get? And spend it all! Or as close to $50 as you can get. Bottle of Florence and a bottle of No. 93 Engine, imps of Lyonesse, Kubla Khan, and The Obsidian Widow.   Are there any characters that you love or identify with? I've always felt myself identify with Sam from Garden State along with Amelie from Amelie. They are quirky, off beat, kind of confused and emotional girls that are just trying to live their life.   A question! If you are crafty, what's your personal art style? I'm not talking just about what art you like to look at, but what kind of art do you like creating? Do you have a "process" while you're creating beauty? I really enjoy ink drawings with a kind of sketchy and somewhat detail oriented look to them. I like delicate stuff. Also I am on DeviantArt as Ciaobonefish and you can see a TON of things I have favorited and even some artwork of my own. I love sketching quick portraits of people and always have a little sketchbook with me wherever I go. I also like drawing anime and have meddled with copic markers with some great results. Watercolors are fun but can be time consuming and lately I have been REALLY into crocheting and sewing.   Are there any Arcana Weenies that you MUST HAVE? Nothing I HAVE to have but Ghost Pumpkin, Sleepy Hollow, Straightjacket, and Dancing in the Boneyard all sound pretty interesting and promising. I generally Love Arcana.   So what say you? IS an "unexpected" visit/in-person witching OK? Hmmmm. Sure it is ok! Very unexpected and I'm always out of my dorm and around campus so I don't know if we would ever meet!   September 19th   What strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself?: Steampunk-esque spikes from Etsy (to spruce up some leather penny loafers) is all I can think of currently....   How do you feel about franken polish? Are you okay with all chemicals, or would you prefer 3 free? Would you want glitter or holographic glitter? What colors would interest you? Frankenpolishes are cool but I don't wear nailpolish a lot so I wouldn't worry about that.   Dear witchee, how do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way? I love rose salve! Above anything I am a huge fan of C.O. Bigelow's Rose Salve (the original that is JUST rose salve and no mint or anything like that). Those round Eos lip balms are pretty great too.   Would you be interested in getting fountain pen inks or art supplies via JetPens and or DickBlick? (I know I have a wishlist on JetPens and just love using fountain pens in my artwork) Fa sho. I LOVE inks, pens, fountain pens etc. WRITING UTENSILS ARE TOTAL LOVE. Most of my party/compulsory formal occasions are gatherings with family and our really close friends which means I typically wear shalwaar kameez, which is the typical Pakistani dress. If I want to dress "fancy" for a different occasion I really adore floaty blouses with cute details (huge sailor collars, ruffled cuffs, awesome patterns, silk, etc.) tucked into skinny black jeans. Please be specific! For instance, I'm a little squicked by used clothing, but I don't mind any other used goods (i.e. books, glassware, games, DVDs, whatever.) I tend to thrift rather often but won't thrift things like glassware and cooking utensils etc. Games, books, clothing, bags, accessories, jewelry, things like that are great! Payday, almond joy, starburst!   Do you prefer soap or shower gel? Please give examples of your favorite scents or brands. I tend to use shower gel most often but have been slowly getting into soaps. My favorite soaps are from Arcana and I have been using Murder Ballad Blues and Bluestocking. I also like Haus of Gloi's soaps but their scents don't always appeal to me. Typically I enjoy clean fresh scents that have complexity to them like a floral or slightly foody element and I enjoy deep fall-esque patchouli filled blends. Samhain, for example, is pretty much my all time favorite scent and I will be stocking up on that soap.   How do you like your chocolate? For example with nuts, mint, peanut butter, caramel? Chocolate with nuts, chocolate with mint, chocolate with anything spicy (I adore that sweet spicy combination), dark chocolate, and white chocolate are the way to go. I just don't have time for it anymore with university and all.   What are your favorite restaurants? Mainly lebanese food places like Zeus' which is local to southwest Louisiana. I am also a huge fan of Deli's and cafes.   Do you play any video games? Just Pokemon games on my sister's DS   Do you like any anime? I do enjoy some anime like Full Metal Alchemist, XXXholic, Ouran High School Host Club, the Vision of Escaflowne, Vampire Knight, SAILOR MOON, Magic Knight Rayearth, and of course all of Miyazaki's films. LOVE LOVE LOVE THOSE.   Do you have an E-reader/iPad/something similar that you need a cover/case for? Nope.   how much do you like jewelry? like, if you were to get a shit ton of it during the round, how excited would you be? I like jewelry but honestly I wear the same few necklaces over and over again, the same bracelets every day, and the same rings. I don't have an obscene amount of it and I stick pretty closely to my favorite items.   How would you like to receive some of your Witch's favorite recipes, tailored to your likes/dietary restrictions? And specific wants? That would be pretty fantastic if I do say so myself.   Do you need any boxes to store your smellies in? What would you store in said hypothetical box--imps, bottles, supplies, all of the above? I've got ammo boxes for my imps currently so I am set there. I like the box I am using for bottle storage but I am afraid I will run out of room soon! I love simple clean designs with excellent functionality!   Muppets: yea or nay? Nay.   Do you have an affinity for Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, The Far Side, and other comic strips? If so, which is your favorite? Not a particularly huge fan of comic strips. Just never got into them.   Favorite Mythological Creature?: I'll be getting back to this.   Do you like hair things barrettes, headbands, flowers Barettes are a no because I can't clip them on to a headscarf but I am a general fan of flower and bow clips as long as they can clip on to the edge of a headscarf. Also I like wearing bow headbands (not the full circle connecting fabric kind if you know what I mean) when I'm just chilling by myself to keep my hair back.   Expanding on the hair question - does anyone like those flower clips for the hair that are big right now?? I do enjoy the flower clips along with the bows that are in provided they are not obnoxiously large. I like to pin/clip them to my headscarves on days when I don't quite feel like wearing a proper wrap scarf.
