Note Analysis: Lilac

Continuation of my note analysis. When I first got into Bpal, I looked for scents with leather, lilac, and lavender before anything else as I hadn't ever really been into perfumes (only scented candles) and those were the only scents that I knew I liked for sure. Plus it was spring and none of my favorite types of scents (Fall) were readily available or easy to find in GC (Jack was the only one I saw that screamed Autumn to me) and spring has always been lilac season in my mind.   I knew lilac was going to be a tricky one for me, because I actually get headaches from artificial lilac scents. I love fresh lilac because growing up, we had three bushes of them on the side of our yard. I loved it when they blossomed in the early spring and I could smell their heady scent. Artificial lilac always seemed too sharp however and I was a bit skeptical that the lab's lilac note might not also be too sharp. The quality of the lab's lilac note seems to be fairly consistent as a fresh high floral but is very influenced by the notes paired with it. Leather seems to calm down the sharpness, whereas other florals often overwhelm the sweetness, only leaving it's high pitch. Granted I AM biased against those combinations with it seeing as how I don't like most florals...   Dragon's Eye was the first lilac blend that actually got my attention- but Dragon's Blood is a dangerous note for me and it still wasn't perfect. Shortly thereafter I tried Bensiabel and it has since filled my need for lilac. I stumble upon more failures then success with lilac since I'm naturally drawn towards the darker scents but I wouldn't mind finding one more light spring/summer scent with lilac as a prominent note.   My favorite blends with lilac in them thus far: Bensiabel   Blends that I liked but the lilac wasn't prominent: Crowley   Blends that were horrible on me: Ouija, Lysander, Nocturne, Pontarlier, Violet Ray, Marcilla   Blends that I would like to try: Because lilac is so often placed in heavy floral blends I have to be wary of it. A Bpal Wishlist, Of Sorts.

This is stuff from the recent update I'm wanting:   BPAL Halloweenie: Getting decants from this, so will update with the likes (if any) from that.   BPAL Lunacy Update: I /really/ want Mabon and Wildfire. Those types of scents are just right up my alley, so to speak, and I'd get them unsniffed.   BPTP Halloweenie: If you were a creative writing type, I'm totally Naughty Tricksy. For the perfumes, I'd prefer them in this order: Bogle, Slaugh, Muilearteach. For their non-Inquisition offerings, I'd like the Samhain room spray, or the Rimmon and Sagardoa soaps.

Sw Help! Yay!

Here's my Kaboodle wishlist.   Did you know BPAL is on etsy with leftover trunk show bottles? Would you like any of them? I looked at them, but there aren't any there saying "TRY ME NOW!" on them. I wouldn't mind getting a tester or decant of any of them, but probably not a bottle-since I'm such a warper.   Do you prefer lip balm in a tube or tin? I like the tube better, but I'll use stuff in a tin too.   What are you most interested in from the Yule update? I ordered a bottle of Gingerbread Poppet, and I have a pile of decants on order too! Yay!   If you were my witchee, would you want to receive Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict, or wouldn't that be your cup of classics? Probably not really my first choice, I have a feeling it would sit on my bookshelf for a long time before I cracked it open.   Would you like some homemade snack mix? I would!   Knitterly Witchees, would you like a yarn bowl? Yarn bowl? What's that? Do I have to eat the yarn out of it? Is yarn good with milk? (I've never tried one, I don't know if I would like one or not.)   So....let's say that you're my witchee, and you have an affinity for widgets. Let's also pretend that I sent you one of these widgets, but in a form that has a very special personal significance to me. Would you find that to be touching (in a "Yay, now I'll always use this and think of my witch!" way) or tacky (in a "My witch is making this all about her!" way)? Silly witch! widgets are for me! Seriously, love to anything that's given to me!   Pocket shrines! Would you like one, made for a particular obsession of yours? Sure. I'd love anything my witch gave to me!   Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? Yay! It would be, loved, hugged and kissed and named George!   Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? Sure! I'm pretty good on mugs/shot glasses (I wouldn't turn one down though). T-shirt or magnet would be my top choice. Or a truely hideous post card. Ha ha ha ha!   Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? ?   Venomous Villains? Poisonous and a villain? Double-threat!   Last Unicorn? I have the book! Its super-fun!   Who is your fav Disney Villian/villianess? How about hero/herione? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though) I always was fond of Maleficent, she's so delightful. It was sad for me seeing her defeated (it was more upsetting to me when I was small than when Bambi's mom died).   Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? I like stones/rocks. Semiprecious natural stuff are my favorites!   What's your favorite Halloween Music? I like music!   Do you have a deviantart print wishlist or favourites list? Deviantart? Is that something to eat? Hee hee hee!   What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? I have a hard time finding shoes that fit me. I have monster feet, and they're wide. So I'd have to try them on to see if they'd fit.   Do you like paper dolls (new or vintage) or coloring in books? Yay!   Do you like weird scary things as traditionally girly fashion items like heels and handbags? Sure!   Are you coveting any of the NYCC atmospheric sprays? I've never used an atmospheric spray, to be honest they scare me a little.   If you could get any one thing hand-painted from your witch, what would it be and what would be on it? A box for oils? That would be nice! Or a small painting for in my kitchen-its very boring above the sink. As long as it was cheerful/bright colors I'd absolutely love it. If it isn't bright colors or cheerful, I'd still love it to bits and pieces! Yay!   Would you (assumin' you're a yarnie) be interested in a naturally-dyed yarn that's designed to very gradually fade with washing? Gimme! It sounds nice!   If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW. Someone gave me a tea kettle shaped like a giraffe. It was on my wishlist, but I never thought I'd actually get it! (By the way Witch, I Really Really love my new froggy hot pad thingy!)   Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? I had a bad garlic experience once, and I've been a bit sensitive to it ever since. In fact, its just in the last couple of months that I've been able to eat garlic bread.   Can I talk to you about the living dead? How do you feel about Zombies? Braiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiins!   How many bottles of BPAL do you have? I think I've got almost 15 now.   Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? I'm planning on signing up for a Yoga class (I have to see if I still can or if I have to wait until next time). I'd like to try bellydancing. Zumba looks fun too.   Anyone else into Emily Autumn? Who?   do you like Girl Scout cookies? What kind?Sure! They are tasty! I like tasty cookies!   What's your take on homemade apple butter? Want some? Nom nom nom!   Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I like soap! I'm just starting to use "fancy" soaps. So far I have tried Tarty's stuff, I've got some Villainess now too to test! (Thanks to my wonderful Witch!)   I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? I don't do much drawring, or pen for artsy things-I'm too inclined towards lots of mistakes.   For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? I believe I have every crochet hook size. Though, I've never tried a wood hook, so if my witch wants to get me one to test that would be nice. I usually use G or H size. I usually use a small piece of yarn to mark my stitches-I don't make a whole lot that needs marking-other than socks.   Does anyone do altered books? Would you be interested in old books to alter? Any type or title in particular? I don't alter books, but if my witch does, I'd love it!   Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Something to store or burn it in? What scents? What form? I'm more of a candle person. For some reason most incense makes either my eyes or throat burn a little.   Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? I generally do ponytails-with the ouchless bands. I can use chopsticks too though! So, yes! Hair things are good!   Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? Nope. Bring on the sharp naughty objects!   In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? Yes please!   How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories?I like re-using things!   What do you wish you could make/craft if you had the know-how and supplies? Specifically, which particular items? Honestly, I don't really need to learn a new craft. I have a giant Closet 'O Doom that is filled to the brim with stuffs. (Its not giant huge, but its big enough to be full of tons of stuff.)   Is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? See my answer to the Posset's question.   Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? None of them sound completely perfect to me, so I'm not lusting after them. But if a dribblet of one would happen to fall into my hands, I'd enjoy sniffing.   Anyone need address/phone type books? Got one.   Are there any particular movies, tv shows or cd’s that you’ve been meaning to buy for years but just never got round to getting? Would you mind a gently used dvd/cd if your witch had it or could get it?? CD- Clutch, I believe its called Basin Street Blues or something like that. Actually anything by them would be fun, I only have their Transnational Speedway album.   Is there anything from the Possets' Hallowe'en update you're lusting after? I haven't tried any Possets' yet. But based off my wonderful witch's judgement with the villainess ginger stuff....I'd adore anything that was sent to me.   Would you like a custom/altered toy either from a seller or from your witch (like My Little Pony, or a Barbie or any particular toy that can be changed?) Sure, but it would need to be with the understanding that the toy would be played with. By me, and any kiddos that wanted to play with it. (I have a little niece that visits a couple times a year, I'd let her play with the pretty toy.)   Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses? I don't believe I've tried any of them. If I have, I don't remember.   Anne Taintor, anyone? I don't know who that is and I'm a little scared to look. If I don't see it, I won't know I love it madly and need to have it all...right?   If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? Yup!   Don't like scarves? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? I'm not really a shawl sort of person. If I got one, I'd use it...but I'd feel a little like it was a costume.   How do you feel about recipes? Sure! I like making new things. Its fun!   What kind of a cook/baker are you? I'm not all that fancy of a cook/baker. But what I do make is nummy. I can make fancy stuff, I just don't very often.   Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? I like delivery on occasion, I do cook, but nothing really fancy. Mostly stuff that's quick.   If I send you something home made would you like the reciepe for it? Sure! I like to cook.   How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? I like them! So much, that I've been meaning to make some for myself. They don't make a huge amount of cookies, or take long to bake. They're perfect!   if you are a tea lover, what are your flavor preferences? Green? Black? Herbal (I know, technically those are NOT teas, but tisanes)? Flavored blacks/greens? I'm not a fan of jasmine teas, or licorice ones. Other than that, anything goes!   How do people feel about word magnets I haven't played with them since college. I would quite enjoy it! Mr. Boy would have fun with it too!   How do you feel about samples/decants of things other than BPAL? Soap slices, lotion/scrub/shower gel decants, single use make-up/beauty products, etc. YAY!   What are you guys going to be aiming for in the Inquisition? Or do you just plan on ordering individual items? My inquisition order is waiting for me at the post office, I'm picking it up Monday. Wheee! I did both, attempted a plea for naughty-Slaugh. Then added on some other stuff. I don't remember what all I got.   How do you feek about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? Not big on lots of knick-knacks. Magnets are a win, stickers and the like are good, cause I can use them.   Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive managas or anything related to them? I rather liked Gunslinger Girls, I think I've watched all the ones out on tape. Oh...I would like to see some of the Firefly comics! Cause what/who is Shepard Book!?!?!?!?!?!   Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? Gimme!   If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? That's why a lot of it is on there!   OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? Generally, crew length. I'm quite round, so knee high/thigh high don't always fit around.   For tea drinkers, do you prefer loose leaf or tea bags? Both are fabulous. I drink bagged at work, and loose leaf at home.   If you would enjoy something of a knitted persuasion, do you have a preference on type of thing? Since making a scarf for someone who has 10 might be a smidge excessive? Also, how do people feel about shawls? 10 scarves is 10 too few! Ha ha ha! It gets cold here.   Music, DO you prefer Live or Studio? Edited or explicit? I don't like it when they edit stuff out. Studio is better to me, though a really well-done live one can be good too.   What is a bpal scent that you've been dying to try for awhile but just can't find? (A scent where even a tester would do) I'd really like to try any of the starred ones on my wishlist. Probably Miss Lupescu the most right now. It sounds like such a great fall scent.   Is there anything you would like that can be delivered over the internet? Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that The occasional funny picture/video or little game link would be ok.   What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) I honestly have no idea!   NaNoWriMo? I've signed up the last couple of years. Then worked on it for a few days, then quit. I like the idea, but fall is always my busier time. Middle of summer would probably be a better month for me.   Do you like maple sugar candy? Yum! Its so good!   What is your position on the chocolate & bacon flavor combination? *shudders*   Go to your spice cabinet, what are the three most used spices? Black pepper (I use more than probably anyone I know-I purposely bought a grinder with a hand-crank so my wrist wouldn't hurt grinding the pepper), cayenne, and Italian seasoning.   Microsoft or Apple? Apples are for eating. Actually, I think they're cute and look like a pretty toy. I don't have one though..and probably won't get one.   Where was your last vacation? What did you like most? Cabin with my parents on a lake. It was super-relaxing. We didn't have to do anything we didn't want to.   Would you appreciate receiving handwritten letters and/or postcards (anonymous or not)? How about sending them? That would be fun!   Would you like a tea cozy? I like to leave my tea out on the counter until its room temp or just lukewarm. I'm strange like that. (I also prefer not cold pop, and tend to leave beer sitting around so it isn't ice cold.) I rarely drink cold or hot stuff. (Hot chocolate should be warm though, and milk Needs to be cold.)   Are you allergic to any food things?? I like food!   Do you hate any food things with a passion?? Licorice, in all forms including Twizzler.   Would you be opposed to receiving a digital version (via email) of a magazine you like but don't subscribe to...you know, in the interest of saving a tree? I'd rather kill a tree.   Favorite Yankee Candles? Or other brands scents? (I make my own candles too, but sometimes have money to spend on others) I like candles! I like fall scents the best. I don't like the clean/linen sorts of scents. Or fake smelling fruit.   Would you like a zuni animal fetish? And if so, what animal? Ok! I'd really just use them as something pretty to stick on my bookshelf, so animal doesn't exactly matter.   And how does everyone feel about glow in the dark radishes? They're really cute. I would wear them.   Cake Truffles, interested? and if YES! Cake/icing/chocolate preferences I like cake! And I like frosting!   My question for you, are you interested in mini bottles(under 100ml for hand luggage) of bath and body products? I love sample sized stuff!   How do you all feel about flowers and plants? Flower and plant seeds? Drawings of flowers or plants? Pressed flowers? I'm renting an apartment, so no outside ground space. Drawings and pressed flowers would rock. Especially smallish drawings/pressed flowers stuck onto paper. I could use some more art for in the kitchen, and that would be cute in there.   If you play console video games, what game systems do you have and what games would you love to have? Ha ha ha ha ha! 1. Original NES (I'm pretty good on games for this-though I would like a copy of Double Dragon) 2. Sega Genesis 3. SuperNintendo 4. Playstation 2 (I'd like the rest of the Harry Potter games, I only have Goblet of Fire-they're pretty cheap used at Gamestop) 5. XBox (I don't play much on here, only MiniNinjas-so much stuff for this system is just too hard for me.)   If you could have 3 BPAL bottles fall (gently) out of the sky right this second that you've been looking for or pining for - which 3 would they be? 1. TKO 2. Pickled Imp 3. Shub Niggurath   Are there any international treats that you love and have a hard time finding? I LIKE TREATS!!!!   Is there anything from the 'Ween BPTP update that you would like but haven't ordered for yourself? Nope. I was a baaaad girl! Ha ha ha! I ordered a bunch of decants, then quite a pile of inquisition stuff. (Though I would like to try a drop of Ginger Skull-I didn't order any of that.)   If you are a crafter, would you like to receive supplies from your witch (beads, fabric, yarn/roving etc?) Sure! Beads, paper, and yarn would be all good.   Find your iPod (or other MP3 device), put it on shuffle/random. What are the first five songs to come up? 1. I have no shame.)   Another question: Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? Yay! I would love them! I'm not sure what I'd do with a linen spray, I'm not big on spraying my stuff.   If you witch made you something and it didn't come out just right, would you still want it? GIMMMEEEE! Mistakes make the item charming!   Soundtracks you'd like? I'd kinda like the soundtrack from The Water Boy (yes, the awesomely fantastic Adam Sandler movie-one of my very favorite movies.)   If you could see one concert right now, who would it be? Generally speaking, I'm too cheap to go to an actual concert. They cost waaaay too much. I do like to go to the occasional pub-sort of place that has music. I like the more intimate setting, and that most of the time, its free.   Any sports fans in the house? What's your favorite sport/team/player? Mr. Boy is an almost rabid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. I like hockey (Red Wings and MN Wild), but I don't watch all the games or anything like that.   For holidays, do you decorate? Would you like decorative stuff, weenie or otherwise? If so, do you lean towards the elegant, the crafty/folksy, or the more, erm, campy? I like to decorate! I'm not an elegant person. (You probably guess that already.) But I would be ok with elegant items-as long as the giver won't be offended if I match it up with something silly.   Do you like journals/notebooks/sketchbooks? I have a couple going all the time. My favorites are ones I can tear pages out of. (Though, I can make any book page tearable.) I generally use them for things like keeping track of which row I'm on when I'm crocheting. Writing down present ideas for people, and making big lists of stuff I have to do.   How do you feel about stationery, like nice pens or notepaper? And if you're in favor, do you prefer classic/contemporary or cutesy stuff? Sure! I like stuff!   Would you like homemade preserves (e.g. marinated vegies, pickled onions, chilli jam?). Nom, nom, nom! But, the only picked thing I like are dill pickles.   Who is your favorite soap etailer? I like soap! So far, I've just tried Soapbox Painworks soap. I'd like to try some other stuff to. Some is in my wishlist, but I'm not picky at all.   What kind of make-up do you wear? What colors? Is there anything you'd like to try but haven't yet? I like make-up samples! I don't use it enough to really warrant having something big.   What about vintage decoration items, teacups, etc etc? Sure! If it was something like a teacups, I'd probably use it, not just display it though...so nothing that's worth a whole lot. (My favorite little cups I have, are ugly little brown ceramic juice cups my mom got for her wedding. They're of the cute-ugly varity.)   Would you like something you have to make yourself? For example, a kit to knit your own soft toy, or a card making kit, or baking kit, etc. And is there anything in particular you'd like to learn? Sure! I do not like to knit (I tried once, and decided to stick with crochet). But anything else is good.   With regards to your gifts, would you prefer your presents' awesomeness evenly spread out (several packages of pretty terrific things) over the round or a slow build-up of awesomeness (going up from pretty cool things to something super-duper cool at the end) to go out with a bang? Do you have a preference? I like Packages! I like lots of packages! And I like one Package! Yayayayayay! Whatever my witch wants to give me is perfect!   If you've got stuff on your BPAL wishlist, would partial bottles be okay? Sure is! My wishlist is pretty clear on that. Yay!   Say you were my witchee, and I found things on your wishlist that I could totally make. Would you want me to make it? Or would you rather it be purchased for you? Some of the stuff on my wishlist is there just to give ideas for a crafty witch!   Who would be on your top 5 (IE famous people you’d date/have relations with? To be honest-most famous people aren't people I'd be remotely interested in personally. I like to look at some, but I just wouldn't want to deal with the ego and crap that would come with them.   Steampunk: While I don't do the whole dress-up thing or read/watch any Steampunky stuff...I do like the jewelry with the watch bits.   Daemon: I took the quizzy quiz! Ha ha ha! I'm a Gruff Soul. Grrrr....ruff, ruff! Suggested form: Hyena, Coati, Maned Wolf, Raven, Dingo.   Lookout! I'm gonna eat your babies! Ha ha ha ha ha ha! In fact, I ran out of space in my boxes and started working on a new box. I should have extra boxes. Or even pretty tins for carrying imps! Yay!   Name a couple of sites you frequent other than this one? Ha ha ha! I check my email! Sometimes I read Perez Hilton for juicy gossip about people I don't know! It makes me feel all superior to the "celebrities".   If you could have any creature (real or imaginary) as a pet, what would it be? I'm copying someone else's answer, because its absolutely perfect...I want a Fizgig!   Would you be interested in an astrology birth chart? Sure! I don't know if I know the right stuff for it though. (I have no idea what time I was born.)   What movie scared the bejeezus out of you as a child? What didn't! Ha ha ha ha! I don't really remember being scared of movies. But I did run and hide from the nature shows. When something was stalking something else...then the music would pick up. I'd run into the kitchen and peek around the corner. I was completely convinced that the stalking animal would manage to jump out of the tv and attack us. I figured if I was around the corner, it couldn't get me.   Favorite Muppet: Woooohooooo! I like Muppets! When I was small I adored Miss Piggy, except when she started karate chopping everything. Then I liked Beaker and Swedish Chef best. Gonzo's nose makes me giggle every time. (In my mom's exact words..."It looks like a 'thingy'".) Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Now I just love them all.   What is something you use to comfort yourself when feeling yucky, depressed, or in pain? Bath, warm blankie, and a book I've read lots of times. (I have two bookshelves full of them.)   Favorite Halloween/Scary movies? Yay! I like Hocus Pocus too! (And I've never pretended to ride my vacuum. Nope. Not once!) I usually watch all the Resident Evils too (they're also watched at Christmas for some reason). And Nightmare Before Christmas (also a Christmas movie). And Ghost Ship, and It. I really like What Lies Beneath also! In general, I don't like the gorey torture movies. (I say in general because I've never watched one and have no intention of ever watching one.) If its a Halloween tv special (even a Halloween episode of a tv show), I love it! I really haven't seen many of the movies listed horror though. Oh! And I love Shaun of the Dead! I can't think of what else right now. Ha ha ha ha! Oh, I call The Glass House a Halloween movie too. Cause its creeeeepy!   Favorite Halloween/Scary books? I like to read. Sometimes I read magazines. Sometimes its books. Sometimes its the back of a cereal box. I like Count Chocula.   Warm Drinks: GIMMEEE! I generally don't make much coffee at home, but hot chocolate and tea and hot apple cider are my friends.   When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. If you click on the sold item, sometimes it will give options that are similar to what was sold, but not identical, would you like the similar item or prefer not to get it at all unless it's the same item? How picky are you? I'm not picky. I like stuff! It doesn't even have be to very similar!   Do you wear make up? Very rarely. I like the idea of it, and I really like looking at my basket thingy full of it...but normally I just have some lip balm on.   Disney movies, Yay or Nay, and favourites if you do like them? Meh. I rather like some of the older ones. Not a big fan of the newer stuff. I do like the Toy Story movies, and don't have copies of them-so that would be something I'd enjoy.   Do you have A VCR, DVD Player or Blue Ray or a combo of the three? VCR and DVD player, I also have a Divx player downloaded to my computer.   Would you like custom icons as a gift? I'm not sure if I'd use them, so probably not.   What is your favourite snack food, something you could grab any time? Candy! (With the exception of Twizzers or licorice of any sort-they're nasty!) M&Ms are evil! (I rarely buy them, because I gobble them all up.) I like fancy chocolate bars too. And jerky/meat snacks. And chip-type things. I like snacks. And cheese. I like cheese too. And cookies. And bread. I like snacks! Yay! (And I wonder why I'm festively plump.....oh wait...I don't wonder!)   Ebooks No...I work on a computer all day, and by the time I'm done with work for the day my eyes are sore and tired. Looking at a screen more is just too much. I like books though!   Nail Polish: I like it, but never wear it. Ha! I like the idea of it. I think I have one bottle of nail polish...and I've never used it.   Soft/plushy things: Yes please, smallish ones would be best. I like to put little things on my bookshelves, and I've got room for quite a few more.   What hobby/craft would you like to learn how to do? Stuff with glass. Stained glass. Lampworked beads, glass blowing. I don't want to learn now though. I don't really have time for it...its more of something to do when I retire.   For those who decorate for Halloween, do you prefer cute decorations or creepy ones?: I like Halloween! A lot! All decorations are fabulous.   Also, as part of the cute-or-creepy question, would you want hand made, molded, glazed (by yours truly!) ceramic decorations (napkin rings, potporri/tart warmers, etc) to add to your stock? Hell yeah! That sounds awesome!   how do you feel about mortars and pestles I would like one actually...it would save my fingers when I'm trying to crush up dried herbs.   Is there anything you have a phobia of, or that would make you go "squick" if you saw it in a package? Not really.   Are you into Austen's books? No. I've made through Emma, but I had to watch the movie first before I could really understand what was going on. I don't think I'll read any other of her books. Just not my thing.   Do you read Tarot cards? If not, would you be interested? The pictures are pretty, and I like the idea of playing with them. But I doubt I would. Pretty sure they'd just end up in the Closet of Doom.   So for those of you who are into Harry Potter at all, which house do you think you'd be sorted into? I could see me fitting into any of the houses really. Though Griffendor would probably be least likely one for me to be sorted into.   What, if anything, is your guilty TV watching pleasure? I'm not ashamed!   If you cosplay or need a costume for your bellydance/burlesque hobby (or any other hobby which needs dressup/different from your normal wear), is there anything you need/want for it? Nope.   Celebrity crush? Does the piggy in the Geico commerical count? He's super-fun! (I don't really crush on people like I used to.)   Knitted things? Yes please. I do have some issues with wool-unless its the super soft kind that's mixed with other stuff and isn't completely wool.   What about [mixed or otherwise] DVDs? Ok!   DVDs: Do you prefer widescreen or formatted? Given a choice, I'll grab a widescreen. But I'm not picky enough to keep me from buying or enjoying a formatted one.   Music: Any preference towards MP3 or CD? I do prefer a CD, I can use an MP3, but I like having something I can hold in my hand. It makes it more real to me.   Do you like scented tarts? I probably wouldn't really use them. I like candles though. I tend to burn votive sized ones the most. And now that fall is coming...I'll be burning them more. I really like the fall scented ones. They're yum!   Lip balms? Yay! I have quite a few, but I'm be happy to have some more. Especially since My Boy uses them lots. (He'd be thrilled to get one in my package-or if its a flavor I don't love-I'll give it to him.)   Do you have any body mods? If so, do you need any new jewelry, o-rings, plugs, etc (and if so, what size, length, etc)? Do you like pro-body mod stickers? I have an industrial in one ear-3 hoop thingies in the other, and a lobe piercing in each ear. I don't change earrings in anything other than the lobes. I don't really have anywhere to put stickers. (Well, not anywhere where I would put stickers.)   Booze. Do you drink it, would you like some Yum! I'm really fond of microbrews. I tend to like ones that are on the darker side. Not a big fan of the lighter colored beers.   What is your favorite artist or art style? (including if you have links to favorite pictures/paintings/photographs) I like pretty things! Yay! Ha ha ha! Let's see...on my walls at home: 4 little old-fashioned looking prints of hot air balloons-all in the sort of sepia tones, a brightly colored fairy my friend drew, a dragon I drew, a glow in the dark puzzle, a Mexican folk art cross, a big lithograph picture of grey jays, a 3-d puzzle of fishies. (the puzzles aren't glued-just in frames) Mostly stuff that just happened to catch my fancy.   Hallowe'en plans? I have an annual pumpkin-carving party. This year its going to be on Saturday! Yay! Its lots of fun!   Girlyness level? I like the idea of being girly-with makeup and cute clothes. The reality is that I have some makeup-that I rarely wear. I generally dress like a slob...I have a few "nicer" things to wear, but I don't wear them on a regular basis.     I like baked goods! No problem with them in my house. (I don't know if my boyfriend would eat something someone he didn't made, but I know he would eat some after I did.)   As far as a gifty for him, he would probably like that-but its totally not necessary. He does like to see what I put in a witchee's box, and is always happy to see prizes I get in the mail. Snack food would be a good thing for him-or a manly soap sample. And if my witch happens to be from Iowa, anything Hawkeyes would be a big hit. (He got really excited about an Hawkeyes energy drink one of the times we went to Iowa, and has it on display in his "game" room.) He'd probably be confused if he got a little gift too.   Are you someone who'd rather have lots of small testers of different things on your wishlist, or would you rather have one or two "big" things? Its all good to me!

Note Analysis: Leather

It seems to me that categorizing a note as one you love simply isn't enough. Beth and the lab are masters of their art and quite often the qualities of a note within a range of scents can differ greatly. So I plan on breaking down each note that I love and figuring out where it works, and where it doesn't, as well as blends I still want to try.   Leather- my love of the scent of leather started when I began working with horses. The scent of leather, hay, and horse was one of my favorites when I was riding in high school. Leather took on a new meaning when I picked up a new hobby a few years ago after college- leathercrafting. A freshly unrolled hide of veggie tan leather has a simply wonderful scent, but it's an elusive one that doesn't last long and is hard to match in perfume.   The Lab's leather notes: Seem to be split into at least two qualities. One is more of a 'leather jacket' soft suede feel. The other is supposedly more raw though I haven't found that one yet. Of the various leather notes, I tried most of the commonly recommended ones that weren't super hard to get hold of. I have yet to find that elusive veggie-tan quality in any of them- in fact it took me comparing Crowley and Black Rider to finally realize that one of the prominent notes WAS the leather since it seemed much more soft and cologne-y then what I was expecting.   My favorite blends with leather in them thus far: Bensiabel, Bow & Crown, CC: Female, Crowley. Ralph Lauren Romance is on old fave.   Least favorite notes: ROSE. JASMINE. MAGNOLIA. CARNATION. Basically, really heady florals are awful and headache inducing. Even violet, geranium, etc don't really work. I love vanilla but the super foodie ones are plastic (oh hai there Snow White, boo, midway, etc). Aquatics are pretty much migraine territory along with ozones (ambergris is nice in the background) and snow is iffy (so far yellow snowballs is the only one to work on me).   Least favorite non-BPAL perfumes: anything currently hawked by kardashians or other pop stars of the moment that stink like fake candy musk. Switch Witch Help - Fall 2010

Hi witch!   I will post answers to SW question and other helpful stuff here. They'll be in reverse order, so you can always see the most recent stuff first and not have to go scrolling for things.     So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? I do like pomegranates, both as a flavor and a scent. I just bought a box of some lovely pomegranate white tea at World Market, in fact. And I discovered at Will Call that I really like Pomegranate II.   How are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? You can always use more purses. I personally really need a cool tote bag to take out of town when we visit the hubby's parents on weekends, something just the right size for 2-3 days worth of clothes. We have a huge suitcase for long trips, but nothing that really works for just a weekend.   Now, I have a question for you. About notes. Which are your favourite ones? Do you have a kind of "note top ten?" Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you?   Top ten (in no particular order, as that would be extra hard): - Vanilla - Pumpkin - Apple (particularly cidery notes) - Leather - Smoke - Tobacco - Amber - Musk - Old books - Spices   And an extra two because, looking at the notes for my favorite scents, they also tend to be prevalent: - Fig - Booze   Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? I like shawls too.   Would you like a custom/altered toy either from a seller or from your witch (like My Little Pony, or a Barbie or any particular toy that can be changed?) Sure, that would be fun.   Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses? Oh my yes. I LOVE the pumpkin spice. I have some perfume, but more soap is always welcome. I also love Kincardine Maiden and want to try Straitjacket, Little Ghoulie, Dia de los Muertos, and Skeleton Key. How many bottles of BPAL do you have? Um. 108 BPAL. 229 total bottles from various etailers.   Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba etc? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles etc? I'm into yoga, as well as lifting weights and general cardio type stuff. What I really need is something like this (maybe my witch is crafty?).   Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? For the most part, Ben is the cook around our house, and he is oddly resistant to using recipes (which irks me! they're such a great way to try new stuff!). I have about 4 things that I cook and cook well, when it comes to "real" food. I like baking, tho, and have great recipes for cookies and cheesecake bites. I am especially enamored of these cats: Savannahs and Abyssinians. Dog-wise, I love labs & GSDs (for obvious reasons) as well as huskies. I'd kept them in several Rubbermaid storage containers for years that 1) no longer had any room for more, and 2) looked kinda tacky. Now I have two of these, which look way nicer in person and give me lots of room. Also the cats love sleeping on top of them.   Warm drinks? Yes please! I love tea, cider & cocoa.   Do you have a special symbol or totem that is meaningful to you? Cats. Big cats, domestic cats, all of them.   Socks? Anyone? Oh yes. SockDreams!   Do you wear makeup? Oh yes. Sephora!   Plushies? As in stuffed animals, yay! As in the fetish, um, no.   Favorite art/artist? Tough call. I like a lot of artists. I am especially fond of Charles Vess (who also happens to live in the next town over).   Guilty TV pleasure? Million Dollar Listing   Cosplay/costume? Something cool and steampunk-y   Harry Potter house? Ravenclaw   Cute or creepy Halloween decorations? Both   Scented tarts? I prefer scented oils, but tarts are ok.   Booze? Yes, please! I'm a huge wine nerd, and also really like beer and ciders. I don't drink cocktails very often, tho.   Body mods? My back is tattooed with a full back piece of burning wings, and I have a couple of other, smaller tattoos too. I am planning my first half sleeve, which I want to incorporate Bastet. I have 00 gauge plugs in my ears, a labret and a monroe (both 16 gauge). Jewelry for these would be lovely! I also have two regular piercings in each ear.   What is your favourite snack food, something you could grab any time? Steamed edamame, Japanese-style. Also good cheese, particularly Manchego.   DVDs? I actually have a Blu-Ray player, so either format would be great. Widescreen preferred.   How do you feel about mortars and pestles? I need a good set.   Phobias? Tight spaces is the only fear I have I would consider phobia-level. I am terrified of spiders too, tho.   Ceramics? I love pottery! I have a sort of mission to eventually replace all our boring Target plates and bowls with cool pottery pieces.   eBooks? Lemme tell ya 'bout me & eBooks. I am addicted. I have both a Kindle and a nook, and I have the apps for each on my Droid X. Plus the desktop apps. I still buy traditional books too (particularly of my favorite authors and series, which I prefer to have hard copies of). But yeah, I LOVE the convenience of eBooks.   What hobby/craft would you like to learn how to do? I'm still working on learning to knit.   Knitted things? Yes please! I love snuggly scarves and arm warmers and such.   MP3s or CDs? Whatever is easiest for my witch. I have all my music imported into iTunes, and I can easily import a CD from my witch too.   Lip balms? Another little addiction of mine. My lips chap very easily, so I always have lip balm. I love the stuff.   T-Shirt/PJ bottoms size? T-shirt is usually size L in the cute girl shirts (like the BPTP ones). I, ah, don't wear pajamas.   Mix CDs? Sure   Groupons? Nah   Gifts for other household members? Not necessary, of course, but if my witch wanted to include something, that would be very sweet. The dogs like just about any kind of chewie or chew toy (but no stuffed animal types, please; I try to discourage their interest in those); the cats like jingly toys and catnip (they have never eaten any cat treat I've tried to give them -- weirdos); the hubby loves chocolate chip cookies and, of course, beer.   Homemade treats? Yes please! I am especially fond of salted caramels, but pretty much any kind of yummy treat is good.   Testers vs. full-size? My Scent Library

Trying to determine the base scents and combinations I am attracted to -- so I may better choose new flavors! Suggestions are most welcome.   Jólasveinar (Yule 2006) -- Wow! I smell good enough to eat! Love-love-love. The girls and Hubby likes, too. Their scent is a mishmash of snow, dirt, Icelandic moss, marsh felwort, and the smushed petals of buttercups and moorland spotted orchids, with the barest hint of the scent of pilfered Christmas pastries.   The Peacock Queen (Yule)-- Rosy but one I can wear well; beautiful; doesn't last overly long but it makes me feel good. In dramatic contrast to the soft innocence of Snow White and the dew-kissed freshness of her sister, Rose Red, this is a blood red, voluptuous rose, velvet-petaled, at the height of bloom. Haughty and imperious, vain, yet incomparably lovely to the eye, but thick with thorns of jealousy, pride and hatred.   Sol Invictus (Yule 2006) -- Very nice. Sultry, complicated light. Family OK with it. A radiant blend of solar oils: golden amber, saffron, heliotrope, hibiscus, citron, frangipani, frankincense, tangerine, mock orange, and orange blossom.   Stormclouds Over The Midway Act IV: The Interlude -- Wine-colored storm clouds are gathering, and the scent of incense and ozone is thick in the wet air. Thunder-charged ozone, plum-colored incense smoke, opium tar, and wormwood.   Punkie Night (Halloweenie 2010)--I like this. Very pleasant. Corie loves it. May have to get a bottle. However, it gives Josie a headache. Bummer. This is a light-hearted scent: apple orchards, bright cranberries, and a touch of warm cider.   A Howl in the Darkness (Halloweenie 2010) --Subtle pine and mint. I like. Family seems OK with it. A scent evocative of a forest at midnight, with animalic brown musk, wild sage, Terebinth pine, black oak, and a chilly shock of terror personified by kunzea, cistus labdanum, verbena, juniper, metallic ozone, and white mint.   Odd Portents (Halloweenie 2010) --Spicy sensuality blended with a sweet, dark floral sensuality. I like. Josie likes a great deal (says it reminds her of the Penzeys Spices store). Hubby does not like. <sigh> Black rose, olibanum, dark musk, myrrh, blackcurrant, lavender buds, bourbon geranium, and amber incense.   Clytie (BPAL Trading Post LE) -- This is a very nice scent I really enjoyed wearing all day. If I run across a bottle, I'll have to snap it up! Great Loves and Tragedies of Ancient Greece - Excess of love begetting excess of grief: heliotrope, frankincense, muguet, osmanthus, and neroli.   Lotus Moon 2010 Soporose and lenitive: opium-laced golden lotus with rich amber, red sandalwood, pomegranate, frankincense, and rose otto.   Red Moon 2007 Our blend for this Moon mixes traditional lunar oils with the warmth of amber, Red musk, and heliotrope, the russet haze of dragon's blood resin, sunflower, and crushed orange peel, with a dusting of summertime herbs: chamomile, rue, elder flower and marigold.   Blood Moon 2008--Spicy sweet. But even this little bit of dragon's blood makes my nose stuffy. The feral scent of the heat of the chase, deep woods, undulating musks, brushed by forest flora, swirled in the incense of the anointed cherub that covereth, and touched by blood-dimmed lunar oils.   Inganok Jewelers (Lupercalia 2010) --Oh, I like this one. Unusual. Nag Champa incense like in that little metaphysical shop during college where I would buy jewelry. After a while there is a distinct metallic edge. Hubby does not like. Gleaming stone and silver.   Arkham (discontinued) --This smells really good but it seems to be more of a masculine scent to me. I still like it. If I could find a bottle, I'd be very pleased. (Inspired by Lovecraft.) A scent seething with the perverse splendor of complete and utter madness. High-pitched, yet dark...subdued and deep, but tingling with frenzy: juniper, nutmeg and black cypress shocked by verbena and lavender. http://www.bpal.org/topic/255-arkham/   Tabella (Forum Only LE 2008) The voting tablet. Herbs and flowers that represent democracy, justice, leadership, and power: olive blossom, frankincense, tobacco flower, benzoin, Little John, bergamot, galangal, angelica, fig, sage, and ginger.   Aperotos Eros (Ars Amatoria) --In the imp, I don't like it. When I put it on, I did so w/o smelling the imp and I can't smell it on me. Added more. Nothing! Will try another day. Tried again -- I can't believe I couldn't smell this! It's a rather bitter smell. Seems more masculine -- funny that other reviewers say it's more feminine. I do get traces of the bergamot and fir which I like but myrrh won't stop butting in. And then takes over. Damn you, myrrh. Unloving love: benzoin, Indian musk, massoia bark, myrrh, ambrette seed, galbanum, bergamot, and fir.   Defututa (Ars Amatoria) -- sexy scent; mmmm; Hubby OK with it. Olive blossom, honey, smoky vanilla, cinnamon, jasmine, sandalwood, and champaca flower.   The Lady Of Shalott (Ars Amatoria) Very pleasant but nothing that zings me. The scent of calm waters just before a raging storm, limned with achingly-beautiful blooms, an icy scent, but somehow warm, and mirror-bright: bold gardenia, crystalline musk, muguet, water blossoms, clear, slightly tart aquatic notes and a crush of white ginger.   Lorelei (Ars Amatoria) A tragic heroine from German lore. In despair over a faithless lover, she threw herself into the Rhine. In death, she has become a siren that haunts that river to this day, luring sailors to their doom. Neroli, sandalwood, ylang ylang.   Muse (Ars Amatoria) A light, invigorating floral and citrus blend. Tuberose, lotus and jasmine with a hint of lime.   Nefertiti (Ars Amatoria) “The Beautiful One Is Come”. Egyptian iris and olibanum with red and white sandalwood, soft myrrh and a breath of North African herbs.   Rapture (Ars Amatoria) Sensual ecstasy, the blinding red fire of the apex of sexual pleasure: Moroccan rose, Sumatran rose, mandarin, Egyptian myrrh, night-blooming jasmine, bergamot and neroli thrust into Arabian musk.   The Ghost (Ars Moriendi) --Extremely subtle. Can slather on and it still doesn't have much throw. What I can smell, smells good. A thin, sinuous, creeping chill, the scent of glee-filled undeath: white iris, osmanthus, Calla lily, tomb-crawling ivy and a coffin spray of gladiolus, lisianthus and delphinium.   La Belle Dame Sans Merci (Bewitching Brews) --Tea rose (yikes) with a metallic edge at the end. Rather overwhelming. Nope. A bewitching seductive scene, rife with mystery and foreboding.   Lightning (Bewitching Brews)--Need a bottle of this. Pleasing. Lasts all day. Made me feel good even after 5 hours in the emergency room with my daughter. The electric tang of ozone, marine notes, and a drop of sharp rain.   Morgause (Bewitching Brews) A bouquet of five night-blooming flowers deepened by dusky violet, purple fruits and the barest breath of medieval incenses.   The Raven (Bewitching Brews) --Oh, I love this. There is something in this that reminds me of my beloved Aunt Myra Nell. Hubby OK with it. Sleek, dark, and ominous. A perfect, lovely, gleaming red apple whose sweetness masks a swirl of narcotic opium, oleander, and hemlock.   Saint-Germain (Bewitching Brews) discont. 8/13/10 --OMG the perfect scent for a man. Lots of throw. Hubby hates, though. "A man who knows everything and who never dies." He is a Hermetic Magician's hero for the ages, and his scent is an elegant, timeless, truly refined cologne, bold yet classic: gilded amber, hypnotic lavender, brash carnation and deep mosses.   Josie (The District)--A little too sweet and then turns sour. Heady magnolia and honeyed peaches.   Djinn (Diabolus)--I can't decide. Definitely a novelty scent. Wet is an experience of pissed power. But the last stage of dry is so wonderful. An ancient, free-willed race created from the essence of Fire, much as man was created from Earth. They prowled the land at night, vanishing with the first rays of dawn. Myths surrounding the Djinn paint them as many things: benevolent champions of mankind and slaves to mad sorcerers, malicious incubi / succubi and energy vampires, or malevolent harbingers of madness and disease. The Djinn are ruled by Iblis, the Prince of Darkness, who bears unspeakable contempt for man. The scent of black smoke, of crackling flames, and smoldering ashes.   Eos (Excolo) The Rising Sun. She is Ostara, Easter, the Anglo-Saxon goddess of fertility and the dawn. She is a protector and friend to all children. Her scent is that of softly glowing skin, jasmine, buttercup and honeysuckle.   Oya (Excolo) --Lovely and subtle. May need a bottle of this! Lady of the Wind. She is the wind that precedes the thunderstorm, and it is in this that She is seen as Shango’s companion and partner in battle, and without Oya, there is little that Shango can accomplish. She fans the fires of Shango’s blazes, and is the forked lightning that touches the treetops. Oya’s ofrenda is a Nigerian potion of love and war, sweetened by darkest plum. Oya winiwini! http://www.bpal.org/topic/14293-oya/   Persephone (Excolo) --Exactly as the reviews say: juicy pomegranite. But the rose is a tea-rose type to me. It is a beautiful combination but a bit too sweet for my tastes. Beautiful, radiant daughter of Demeter...her loveliness was so exquisite that even Hell itself could not resist her. Pomegranate and rose.   Utrennyaya (Excolo) --I need a bottle. Mint that gives way to floral. Doesn't last, tho. But touch-ups are nice b/c you get the mint back! The Zorya: Also called the Auroras. The Slavic Triple Goddesses of the Dawn, Sky and Light, who govern the paths of the day. The guard the constellation Ursa Minor from the chained Hound of Doomsday; should they ever fail in their duty, and the chain breaks, the universe will end. "The Morning Star" -- Osmanthus, Damascus rose, violet, delphinium, white mint, palmarosa and white sandalwood.   Cordelia (Illyria) --Very floral; it's OK; then Josie got a headache off it. The essence of faith, love and devotion: lilac, lemon, green tea, wisteria, osmanthus, white cedar, and Chinese musk.   Black Rose (Rappaccini's Garden) --Very mature rose. I like but this rose tends to amp and stick around. An evening scent. Exquisitely melancholy. The background scent to an ancient exequies. Heavy, dark and floral: a blend of roses, with a touch of amber and musk.   Baghdad (Wanderlust) -- This is so spicy! I like! But what is messing around and making my eyes itch?! Amber, saffron and bergamot with mandarin, nutmeg, Bulgar rose, musk and sandalwood.   Danube (Wanderlust) Rhododendron and bellflower petals swirl through deep, cool, dark aquatic notes.   Machu Picchu (Wanderlust)--On the need-a-bottle list. Pleasing. Sweet tropical fruits burst through deep, wet rainforest boughs, enormous steamy blossoms, over thin mountaintop breezes, mingled with the soft, rich golden scent of Peruvian amber.   Shanghai (Wanderlust)--BOUGHT A BOTTLE The crisp, clean scent of green tea touched with lemon verbena and honeysuckle.   Silk Road (Wanderlust) --I may have to get a big bottle of this one. Very pleasant. Exotic/romantic impression to me. Nice throw; lasts pretty much all day. A note of clean patchouli that I like btw. A panoply of cultural treasures, spanning the herbs, flowers, oils and balms of the Romans, the Byzantines, the Mediterranean, the Levant, Northern China, Eastern Europe, Iran, the Bulgar-Kypchak, Mesopotamia, the Crimean Peninsula, Anatolia, Antioch, and North Africa.   Venice (Wanderlust) --I think I like this. It does smell good, but it doesn't evoke an emotional connection. Oh, well. A complex, voluptuous scent that captures the robust beauty of the Italian Renaissance: lemon, red currant, wisteria, red rose petals, heady jasmine, Florentine orris root, waterlily, red sandalwood, violet plum, and violet leaf.   -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   OUTRIGHT "NO" OR JUST "MEH"   Wicked (Diabolus) --YUCK! I don't like this one at all from just the sniff from the imp. Don't even want to put this on. OK. Decided I can't just a perfume by the imp. There's an element here that reminds me of spiced apples. Definitely rose. But then it dries down to something I don't like. Jasmine? Too much myrrh? I'm thinking it's jasmine b/c I'm a little sneezy and myrrh hasn't done that to me before. A paean to all the Wicked Queens, Evil Stepmothers, and other misunderstood villainesses throughout history and lore. Lends an aura of majesty, refinement, strength, and a deep, brooding malice. A sophisticated, womanly scent: rich myrrh and jasmine draped in the subtlest rose.   Highwayman (Bewitching Brews) I do not like vetiver and this is heavy vetiver! Vetiver with gardenia, blood red rose, night-blooming jasmine, a dash of cinnamon and a faint hint of leather.   Katrina van Tassel - Sleepy Hollow (Halloweenies) --It's OK. I could wear it but it doesn't zing me. Rose note is nice. Maybe too much cream/sweet. But then later, I found I was really enjoying wearing it. White rose and honeyed cream.   Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller - Act II: Fiat Nox -- Unfortunately this is a no. I think I just don't like patchouli. Didn't effect Hubby. Either way, my youngest says "it's hard to cuddle you when you stink". Wow. Don't mince words, hon. Red musk, vanilla bean, pomegranate, patchouli leaf and wild plum.   Samhain -- I liked; got lots of compliments; Josie liked; was ready to buy a whole bottle...but Hubby HATED. Truly the scent of autumn itself -- damp woods, fir needle, and black patchouli with the gentlest touches of warm pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, allspice, sweet red apple and mullein.   Delirium --The rose is a tea rose. Ick! apple, rose, lemon   Djinn --A perfect interpretation of the name. Harvest Moon Update

Well, looks like I have to do a note-by-note breakdown for these.   Harvest Moon......dry leaves, mulling spices, balsam fir, cedar, juniper berry, clove, saffron, damson plum, sage, yarrow, and lily twined with Dionysus' sacred grapes and ivy, a bounty of apple and pumpkin, and the amaranth and lingum aloes of Janus, all touched by a gentle breath of festival woodsmoke and sweet wine.   The first nine notes are either 'yes' or 'sure, why not', then things start getting more complicated. Yarrow I just don't know about but I can handle herbal. And then lily....you know, I missed lily the first time I read the notes. Kind of snuck up on me and I usually don't like lily, so that is something to consider. Then we move on to some fruits, more herbs, woods, and smoke.....most of which I like, or don't hate.....except the grape is something to also consider. Overall, I could be interested, and I've never tried Harvest Moon before and this would be a good one to start with, because I do like most of the notes.   Mabon.....Blackberry wine and apple with hops, English ivy, rosemary, hazel, sage, chamomile, sweetgrass, oak bark, wild nuts, and myrrh.   I'm leaning towards no, because of the blackberry wine and nuts, although I might actually enjoy a fall herbal scent. The addition of myrrh makes me want to at least try a decant.   Wildfire.....orris and rose together? No thank you. I don't think there's enough wood to temper those two powder/soap bombs.   So, bottom line, if I'm feeling adventerous I might just grab a bottle of Harvest Moon before it goes bye-bye. Maybe a decant of Mabon if I see one. And I do want to sniff Wildfire, if it crosses my path, but I don't hold out much hope for that one.

Reaction To Halloween 2010 Update

Just for my own reference! http://www.bpal.org/topic/69868-halloween-update-2010/page__view__findpost__p__1808268   Finally got time to sit down and wade through the massiveness of this update...   ALL SAINTS 2010 -- Based on a venerable French pontifical incense blend: monastic frankincense and myrrh, Damascus rose, Russian gardenia, cassia, and lily of the valley wafting on a chill Autumn wind. A celebration of the glory and suffering of the saints and matryrs of the Church. Probably not for me; haven't been feeling the heavy incense scents lately, and I don't think that'll change. (It's already a pretty cold summer! But I still like my lighter scents.)   ALL SOULS 2010 -- An incense blend that invokes the higher qualities of mercy and compassion, mingled with the soft, sugared currant scent of offertory soul cakes. Mmm soul cakes... Again though, this doesn't jump out at me as a must-have.   BLUE PUMPKIN FLOSS -- Puffy clouds of pumpkin candyfloss with a trickle of blackberry juice. Sounds amazing! I haven't tried any pumpkin scents from the lab though, so I'm not sure... It might end up being too sweet.   BOO 2010 -- Eerie billows of spun sugar, fluttering white cotton, and sheets of cream. YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! I was so hoping for this one to come back! I'm not missing out on Boo this time   CALAVERAS -- Xocolatl, tequila, copal incense, smoke-dried jalapeños, vanilla pods, and cajeta. Sounds really intriguing but nothing's really calling out to me.   DIA DE LOS ÑATITAS -- Hydrangea blossoms and rose petals, cigarette smoke, cocoa leaves, and chichi. The cigarette smoke sounds interesting, but I don't know about the floral notes...   FLOR DE MUERTO -- The orange marigold, or zempasúchitl, has been one of Death's symbols since the pre-Columbian era. The yellow and orange petals are believed to represent the rays of the sun, bringing joy and light to the souls dwelling in the realm of the dead. These flowers surround Day of the Dead altars to guide the spirits to their offerings. I'm not really big on florals.   GHOULISH -- a black cherry and coconut amaretto confection gently laced with saffron. GUH. Black cherry? Amaretto?? MAYBE.   THE HAG -- Black musk, bay leaves, galangal, bourbon vetiver, blackcurrant, and rum. Mm, no I think musk scares me.   GOLLETES -- A circular pastry glazed with pink sugar that symbolizes the sweetness of life and the certainty of death. Might be a bit too sweet for me!   HUESOS DE SANTO 2010 -- Orange-glazed cake, dotted with anise seed, and filled with custard, set beside a bouquet of celebratory funeral flowers. Hmm not sure about the custard and the anise seed. Sounds like something I'd like to eat, but necessarily smell like.   LAMBS-WOOL 2010 -- A popular holy day beverage in 18th century Ireland: roasted apples mashed into warmed milk and ale, with nutmeg, sugar, ginger, and clove. YES PLEASE. I didn't get to try it the first time around and I've been kicking myself ever since!   NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY -- Dewy green leaves colored by Moroccan amber, ginseng, and rooibos. Hmmmm on the ginseng. Probably pass. Not sure, actually. Wait for reviews.   OCTOBER 2010 -- Dry, cold autumn wind. A rustle of red leaves, a touch of smoke and sap in the air. This sounds great! I'd probably go with Halloween San Francisco though. But I still wanna wait on reviews... it might be amazing.   PUMPKIN LATTE -- Espresso, pumpkin syrup, smoky vanilla bean, milk, raw sugar, and a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. OMG yum. I don't know if I need more foodie scents though.   PUNKIE NIGHT 2010 -- apple orchards, bright cranberries, and a touch of warm cider. I love the lab's apple scents! Definitely want.   SAMHAIN 2010 -- damp woods, fir needle, and black patchouli with the gentlest touches of warm pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, allspice, sweet red apple and mullein. I feel like I should try this just because it's the classic Halloween scent! Hmm...   SUGAR SKULL 2010 -- A blend of five sugars, lightly dusted with candied fruits. Probably too sweet for me.   THE WILD SWANS AT COOLE -- October twilight. Falling leaves breaking the stillness of cool water, with sweet autumn clematis, feather-soft orris root, luminous white chypre, and muguet. This sounds great, but I'm iffy on the orris root.   ++ HALLOWEENIE: MNEMOSYNE HALLOWEEN: BROOKLYN -- Flowering dogwood, weeping cherry, Korean pine, camellia, moonflower, Alberta spruce, arborvitae, and crab apples. Nothing's calling out to me here.   HALLOWEEN: LOS ANGELES -- The sky on fire: a strange incense of burning brush, junegrass, tumbleweeds, chaparral, and wild sage. I love LA, but I don't think I want to smell like it. -__-   HALLOWEEN: NEW ORLEANS -- The distinctive scent of the Mississippi at night mingling with sweet olive and Spanish moss. Mmm... possibly. Wait for reviews.   HALLOWEEN: SAN FRANCISCO -- Salt air wafting in from the bay. Rain falling on rain-soaked leaves. YES. I knew I had to have this as soon as I saw it.   ++ HALLOWEEN: POMEGRANATE GROVE POMEGRANATE I -- Pomegranate, poet's jasmine, and benzoin. Nope.   POMEGRANATE II -- Pomegranate, white musk, lemon verbena, grapefruit, pink lime. The notes here sounds amazing and delicious, but I'm not really a fruity-scent girl. Maybe.   POMEGRANATE III -- Pomegranate, Tamil Nadu sandalwood, lavender, tamarind, hazelnut, Atlas cedarwood, sugar date, bitter clove, and Arabian myrrh. Nope.   POMEGRANATE IV -- Pomegranate, cognac, red musk, cocoa, tobacco absolute, star anise, and thyme. This sounds so interesting! Wait for reviews.   POMEGRANATE V -- Pomegranate, carnation, amber, cardamom, neroli, vetiver, black pepper, and opium tar. I love neroli, but I'm not big on carnation, or vertiver. Probably not.   THE HERAEON OF ARGOS -- Argive Hera. The temple in the Argolid that was dedicated to Hera, the Queen of Heaven, in her aspect as the Great Triple Goddess. Pomegranate, apple blossom, fig, willow bark, and almond. No reaction. Sounds great, although I'm not sure about the fig (may turn soapy), but I'll probably never get my hands on it.   + HALLOWEEN: GOTHIC FICTION, VOLUME 1 THE BYRONIC ANTIHERO -- a Victorian fougère and a dashing carnation boutonnière tainted by a cloud of khus, yew, and patchouli. Ooooh this sounds so interesting! I'm curious about the yew and patchouli though. I might just get it for the Byron love.   THE CREEPING MIST -- A muculent, brumous, ill-omened scent: orris, yuzu, white ginger, linden flower, petitgrain, and lotus. Nope. I don't think any of these work on me.   THE DECREPIT HOUSE -- dilapidated planks of mahogany and cypress wood perched feebly on a grim foundation of long-dead leaves, black musk, patchouli, galbanum, tobacco absolute, fragonia, and oakmoss. Wood, black musk, patchouli... that actually sounds pretty scary, and I'm not at all sure I'd want to smell like that.   A HOWL IN THE DARKNESS -- A scent evocative of a forest at midnight, with animalic brown musk, wild sage, Terebinth pine, black oak, and a chilly shock of terror personified by kunzea, cistus labdanum, verbena, juniper, metallic ozone, and white mint. Same.   THE INFERNAL LOVER -- A creamy, sensual, honeyed red musk. Not sure about red musk, or (at the moment), honey. Probably not.   ECCLESIASTICAL EXCESSES -- Faustian depravity: daemonorops, rose-infused frankincense, vetiver, mate absolute, and clove bud. Nope - not feeling the frankincense and clove.   ENCROACHING MADNESS -- A yellow smell. Old foul, bad yellow things. Honeysuckle, chrysanthemum, balsam, hydrangea, and helichrysum. Hahaha this doesn't sound pleasant at all! I actually like honeysuckle though, so maybe!   THE SHADOWY AND THE SUBLIME -- Moroccan amber, wisteria, ambergris accord, white rose, magnolia, white mint, angelica, bergamot, and myrrh. Not sure about the florals in this one.   THE MADWOMAN -- Dusty white sandalwood, ragged cloth, and a dry, long-dead bridal bouquet. Sandalwood gets too incense-y on me.   ODD PORTENTS -- Black rose, olibanum, dark musk, myrrh, blackcurrant, lavender buds, bourbon geranium, and amber incense. Not a rose fan.   THE UNSAVORY GRAVE-DIGGERS -- An unearthed oakwood coffin, cemetery weeds, and a hint of booze. I'm not sure how I feel about boozy scents.   THE UNSTEADY GOVERNESS -- White tea and violet leaf. Hmm... definitely considering this one! I love tea scents.   And: 13: August 2010 -- A base of bitter dark chocolate with thirteen baneful and beneficial bits including pimento berry, pink pepper, tolu balsam, bergamot, golden honey, tobacco absolute, champaca flower, and paprika. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be placing my order in time to get this. So I'll just pretend it isn't there.   tl;dr:   Definitely getting Boo 2010, Lambs-Wool 2010, and Halloween: San Francisco. Leaning really close to getting Ghoulish, Punkie Night 2010, October 2010, and The Unsteady Governess. Waiting for reviews on Blue Pumpkin Floss, Nothing Gold Can Stay, Pumpkin Latte, Samhain 2010, The Wilde Swans at Coole, Halloween: New Oreleans, The Byronic Antihero, Encroaching Madness.

Halloween Update/breakdown

Breakdown! I have rated some of these according to my interest, on a scale of 1-5.   ALL SAINTS 2010 Based on a venerable French pontifical incense blend: monastic frankincense and myrrh, Damascus rose, Russian gardenia, cassia, and lily of the valley wafting on a chill Autumn wind. A celebration of the glory and suffering of the saints and matryrs of the Church. Not interested. All those flowers sound like soap to me.   ALL SOULS 2010 A day of remembrance and intercession. Without the prayers and sacrifices of their families and loved ones, the faithful departed may not be cleansed of their venal sins, and thereby cannot attain beatific vision. On November 2nd, prayers are sung and offerings are made to aid lost souls in transcending purgatory. An incense blend that invokes the higher qualities of mercy and compassion, mingled with the soft, sugared currant scent of offertory soul cakes. I like my decant of All Souls '06, and I might want more of this. It starts out cakey and turns into floral incense, in a good way. 3/5     BLUE PUMPKIN FLOSS Puffy clouds of pumpkin candyfloss with a trickle of blackberry juice. Not for me, thanks....more for all the gals who've been waiting for this!   BOO 2010 Eerie billows of spun sugar, fluttering white cotton, and sheets of cream No thank you......   CALAVERAS Clever little satirical poems in the style of epitaphs written to tease the living and ease grief over a loved one's passing. Xocolatl, tequila, copal incense, smoke-dried jalapeños, vanilla pods, and cajeta. I'll have to look up a couple of these notes, but I am not a big fan of copal (I do like it in incense, but not perfume), and I'm leaning towards nyet on this one.     DIA DE LOS ÑATITAS Hydrangea blossoms and rose petals, cigarette smoke, cocoa leaves, and chichi. Leaning towards no....don't really need a scent with rose and chocolate. Is chichi milk? 2/5   FLOR DE MUERTO The orange marigold, or zempasúchitl, has been one of Death's symbols since the pre-Columbian era. The yellow and orange petals are believed to represent the rays of the sun, bringing joy and light to the souls dwelling in the realm of the dead. These flowers surround Day of the Dead altars to guide the spirits to their offerings. I am interested, because I just like the idea of marigold perfume. They remind me of my grandma Nena, who liked to grow them. And it seems like they would be sort of a bitter or earthy floral, but really I have no idea. Want to try! 4/5   GHOULISH This season's Ridiculous Scent! Creepy like Creepy and as spooky as Spooky, this is the scent of a black cherry and coconut amaretto confection gently laced with saffron. Hmmm....at first I thought no, not interested. But reading it again, it sounds rather decadent and almost incensey, even though it's a foody/drinky scent. Sounds kind of sexy, actually. Decant? 3/5   THE HAG Black musk, bay leaves, galangal, bourbon vetiver, blackcurrant, and rum. Interesting.....I know I need to try this, so decant. Blackcurrant and rum are the iffy notes. 4/5     GOLLETES A circular pastry glazed with pink sugar that symbolizes the sweetness of life and the certainty of death. Nope, no thanks!   HUESOS DE SANTO 2010 Orange-glazed cake, dotted with anise seed, and filled with custard, set beside a bouquet of celebratory funeral flowers. I like my decant of the last one, but I wouldn't need a whole bottle. Perhaps another decant if it crosses my path. 3/5   LAMBS-WOOL 2010 A popular holy day beverage in 18th century Ireland: roasted apples mashed into warmed milk and ale, with nutmeg, sugar, ginger, and clove. I like this scent but in the end it was just too sweet, to the point of being cloying. I want more spices and ale, I think. I'll watch reviews and see if it has changed since last time. 2/5   NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY Dewy green leaves colored by Moroccan amber, ginseng, and rooibos. Ha ha....reminds me of the Outsiders or one of those old teen movies. Anyway, this sounds great, and I'm really interested in trying it. 4/5   OCTOBER 2010 Dry, cold autumn wind. A rustle of red leaves, a touch of smoke and sap in the air. Well, I love this scent, but I don't need any more unless it has changed a lot from the previous one.   PUMPKIN LATTE Espresso, pumpkin syrup, smoky vanilla bean, milk, raw sugar, and a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. Worth a decant to sniff but not super exciting to me. 3/5   PUNKIE NIGHT 2010 This is a light-hearted scent: apple orchards, bright cranberries, and a touch of warm cider. Never was very interested in this scent, for some reason. Sounds too fruity with the cranberries, I generally don't like berries in my perfume.   SAMHAIN 2010 Truly the scent of autumn itself -- damp woods, fir needle, and black patchouli with the gentlest touches of warm pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, allspice, sweet red apple and mullein. I can most likely skip Samhain this year, since I have 2 bottles and several decants of various years already. I do love Samhain, though.   SUGAR SKULL 2010 Vibrant with the joy and sweetness of life in death! A blend of five sugars, lightly dusted with candied fruits. Hmmm......I have half a bottle from '07, and decants of '05 and '08.....do I need more? I love Sugar Skull, but maybe a decant will be enough for me. 4/5   THE WILD SWANS AT COOLE October twilight. Falling leaves breaking the stillness of cool water, with sweet autumn clematis, feather-soft orris root, luminous white chypre, and muguet. Hmmmm....kind of on the edge about this one but leaning towards no. Sounds very pretty but orris and muguet sound powdery and/or soapy to me. 2/5   HALLOWEEN: BROOKLYN Flowering dogwood, weeping cherry, Korean pine, camellia, moonflower, Alberta spruce, arborvitae, and crab apples. These notes sound soapy to me, especially moonflower. I'll pass on this one (even though pine and spruce make me want to sniff.....). 3/5   HALLOWEEN: LOS ANGELES The sky on fire: a strange incense of burning brush, junegrass, tumbleweeds, chaparral, and wild sage. I love the description and the imagery supplied by Beth. I forget what chaparral is but I want to try this. Decant first, probably. 4/5   HALLOWEEN: NEW ORLEANS The distinctive scent of the Mississippi at night mingling with sweet olive and Spanish moss. Moss is not always good to me, but sometimes very good to me. Worth a try because I do like aquatics in general. 4/5   HALLOWEEN: SAN FRANCISCO Salt air wafting in from the bay. Rain falling on rain-soaked leaves. Sounds awesome! Decant first, just to be cautious. 4/5   POMEGRANATE I Pomegranate, poet's jasmine, and benzoin. Well, I like benzoin, but pomegranate and jasmine are not thrilling to me. Probably pass. 2/5   POMEGRANATE II Pomegranate, white musk, lemon verbena, grapefruit, pink lime. Yeah...this is probably the least interesting of the pom. scents to me. Pass-ola. 1/5   POMEGRANATE III Pomegranate, Tamil Nadu sandalwood, lavender, tamarind, hazelnut, Atlas cedarwood, sugar date, bitter clove, and Arabian myrrh. Potential decant. 3/5   POMEGRANATE IV Pomegranate, cognac, red musk, cocoa, tobacco absolute, star anise, and thyme. Don't like cocoa that much with a couple of exceptions. Probably pass.....maybe decant. We'll see. 3/5   POMEGRANATE V Pomegranate, carnation, amber, cardamom, neroli, vetiver, black pepper, and opium tar. Hmm, sounds interesting, kind of foppish? Possibly worth a try. 3/5   Pomegranate patch only imp: THE HERAEON OF ARGOS Argive Hera. The temple in the Argolid that was dedicated to Hera, the Queen of Heaven, in her aspect as the Great Triple Goddess. Pomegranate, apple blossom, fig, willow bark, and almond. Not calling to me very much, although I would definitely try it if it crossed my path. 2/5   THE BYRONIC ANTIHERO An aristocratic cologne of titanic passions, moody and brooding. This scent is dark with disillusionment and cynicism: a Victorian fougère and a dashing carnation boutonnière tainted by a cloud of khus, yew, and patchouli. Hmmm, sounds interesting, and did I mention foppish somewhere else? Could be a nice proper dude-fume. Possible decant. 3/5   THE CREEPING MIST A muculent, brumous, ill-omened scent: orris, yuzu, white ginger, linden flower, petitgrain, and lotus. Interesting. Orris tells me to back away, and in general not my kind of scent.....but could still be worth a try. Will watch reviews and possibly try a decant if I see it available somewhere. 2/5   THE DECREPIT HOUSE An architectural doppelganger reflecting a ruined soul: dilapidated planks of mahogany and cypress wood perched feebly on a grim foundation of long-dead leaves, black musk, patchouli, galbanum, tobacco absolute, fragonia, and oakmoss. Yay, another Poe scent! I like them. Aww, the description and concept are reaching out to me with grabbing hands, but I just don't like brown musk. I'm going to have to try a decant of this and hope for the best. This kind of reminds me of the updated Wolf Moon, which I love. 4/5   THE INFERNAL LOVER A creamy, sensual, honeyed red musk. Don't usually like honey at all, but still.....I'd like to sniff this at some point. 2/5   ECCLESIASTICAL EXCESSES Faustian depravity: daemonorops, rose-infused frankincense, vetiver, mate absolute, and clove bud. If this is one of those scents where the rose is just a hint, I could be interested. I'll be watching reviews. 2/5     ENCROACHING MADNESS A yellow smell. Old foul, bad yellow things. Honeysuckle, chrysanthemum, balsam, hydrangea, and helichrysum. I would love to try this just because of the inspiration. But reading the notes listed, I'd have to say 'pass'. We'll see. 2/5   THE SHADOWY AND THE SUBLIME A sudden and shocking insight into the vast, ineffable, overwhelming power of Nature, stirred by a vision or experience of perfected beauty and perfected terror, that changes the soul irretrievably. An epiphany: Moroccan amber, wisteria, ambergris accord, white rose, magnolia, white mint, angelica, bergamot, and myrrh. This probably has too many flowers, and white rose and I do not get along. Love the description and imagery, though. 2/5   THE MADWOMAN Dusty white sandalwood, ragged cloth, and a dry, long-dead bridal bouquet. Just like the preceding scent, love the concept, but not the notes listed. 'Dusty white sandalwood' doesn't appeal to me, and neither does the bouquet. 1/5   ODD PORTENTS Black rose, olibanum, dark musk, myrrh, blackcurrant, lavender buds, bourbon geranium, and amber incense. Again with the rose! And I was excited about this one. I might still try this, but I don't really like geranium in perfume either. Another possible decant.... 3/5   THE UNSAVORY GRAVE-DIGGERS An unearthed oakwood coffin, cemetery weeds, and a hint of booze. Sounds a little dank. I like the sound of the San Francisco and LA Halloween scents, and a few others like Nothing Gold Can Stay and the marigold one. I'll probably play my usual game and gamble on something I'm not sure about (the marigold scent sounds like a good candidate because I have no idea how that will smell), and get a few decants. I also need to go back and try Lambs-Wool again just to be sure.   And finally, I need to read the text more slowly for the Goth Lit scents, as that could change my mind on one or more of them. I noticed it says Vol. 1.....will there be more volumes? Interesting!

Doom, Doom, Doom!

We all have them, notes of doom. Maybe it's something you don't like, or maybe it's something that doesn't like you. I imagine as my BPAL inventory grows, this list will grow, too. Some of them make me sad, because I love the scent. It just does terrible things on my body. Some of them I just don't like, period, on or off me.   Black musk- Turns straight to baby powder and then play-doh, every. single. time.
Magnolia- Becomes a cloying mess of decaying, sickly sweet flowers.
Arabian Musk- Smells like ass on my skin. Literally.
Cherry- Turns plastic and gross.
Plum- Gets so cloying and sickly sweet it makes me nauseated.
Opium- Love the smell, but it gives me a headache from Hell.
Cinnamon- Love the smell, really do, but it gives me contact dermatitis.
  As an adjunct to notes of doom, these are the BPAL scents that haven't worked for me so far, some much worse than others.   The Chicken Legged Hut- just...NO.
Haunted- Baby powder, followed by play-doh, but SO lovely in the imp.
Odin- Baby powder and pencil shavings.
Black Rose- Baby powder and elegant rose.
Hell's Belle- Magnolia funeral flowers of death.
Black Dahlia- The same as Hells' Belle.
Drink Me- Plastic cherry ick that burned the back of my throat.
Bathsheba- Cloying sweetness that nauseated me.
Darkness- Headache from Hell.
Bordello- See Bathsheba.
